We had our wedding at the Old Barn in March 2024 and we couldn’t have wished for a better day. From our first meeting with Diane the year prior to the day everything was spectacular. Diane is a complete professional, extremely friendly organised and hard working, she worked closely with our suppliers making the weeks leading up to the wedding stress free. Throughout the planning she recommended some fantastic suppliers! The venue is beautiful in a lovely location it was the perfect size for our wedding of 80 day guests. The food was spectacular, I have been to a few weddings at other venues where the food is mediocre however the food on our day was superb, the roast beef and Yorkshire puddings were beautiful! All the staff at the old barn worked incredibly hard, always with a smile on their face and they couldn’t have done enough for us. Thankyou so much to everyone at the Old Barn for creating such a magnificent day for us, the only let down is we can’t do it every year!

Fantastic night celebrating my mum's 80th..venue is beautiful and was dressed beautifully for our intimate party of 55..thanks to staff and a big shout out for the resident dj! Food was OK (we got what we paid for) but for the overall cost was great value for money....thank you team for being so flexible with us decorating..highly recommended

Beautiful building inside & out with plenty of parking space. The food is next to none especially the carvery, an ideal venue for any type of party. Highly recommend. Staff & management are really nice & helpful & nothing is any trouble.

Been to a couple of great weddings here.

We got married at The Old Barn on September 30th and it was such an incredible day! From the moment we booked our wedding to when we collected everything from The Old Barn, Diane and her team have made us feel special and truly looked after us. Diane is unbelievably organised and experienced, and throughout our planning has given us many a tip/suggestion that paid off well! When the day came, everything went perfectly. All of our decorations and little touches were taken care of beautifully and exactly as we had asked for them. Although it rained all day, there was more than enough room for all our guests to stay dry! All of the food and drinks were incredible too; and all the staff took great care of us, very attentive but also gave us the time and space to enjoy our day. We also used The Old Barn's DJ for our reception (Alex Dixon) and he was just incredible. We sent him a list of suggestions/requests before the day and he really ran with it, which created an incredible atmosphere where the dance floor was never empty! We booked the Old Barn at Esholt for our wedding and are thrilled with how everything went. The food was amazing, of a really high quality and we've received lots of compliments from guests about how delicious it was. Our wedding guests were able to use the driving range, which was a massive hit and made the day that extra bit fun and unique. We paid a small fee to be able to have the venue stay open until 02:00AM which was a fantastic bonus for us as we usually feel that weddings end too early. Diane and her team were a pleasure to work. They were flexible and accommodating about the menu, ceremony layout, music and extra bits we wanted like a cheese wedding cake. As our guests love craft beer, Diane ordered our preferred cans of beer and sold these on the day. This was a lovely touch for us to be able to have our ideal drinks selection on offer. The day itself went very smoothly with everything being impeccably well organised with great care taken. We were thoroughly well looked after and we are so grateful.

I went to the driving range but nice to know The Old Barn is part of same company. I got a coffee which was very nice. They also sell alcohol if you fancy a drink. There is no option for food as it is catering for functions such as weddings.

To be absolutely honest the place is absolutely lovely and the functions are amazing, I can't knock the manager (diane) and assistant manager (dan) they will give you the best day whatever the function whether it be a wedding or a baby shower etc. On the flip I was once an employee at this place but unfortunately bullied and pushed out of my job Luckily for the company I was on a zero hour contract so unable to take them to an employment tribunal. Put that aside and what you have is a bar for a refreshing drink a nice driving range with friendly golfers, always have good manners. Then if you're a walker, there is a niçe garden for you to take a rest, soak up the sun and quench your thirst. I would also point out it's dog friendly with a large bowl at the front to accommodate your dogs needs and an outdoor tap to fill it as and when you need. So guys go check it out and have a great time

Beautiful place. Went for a wedding. The food was amazing, the grounds and bar were great. They have the best staff there. Donna was extremely helpful and friendly and looked after us all

What an amazing wedding day we have had. Diane and her team have been amazing from the initial booking right through to our big day. Nothing was too much trouble and we could even have our dogs as part of the ceremony and our day. Our afternoon tea was amazing especially the cakes. We were made to feel so special. We have made memories which we will treasure forever.

Seem to do a lot of weddings and folk very smart for those functions. I use the golf range which is comfortable and well laid out

We attended an evening wedding reception at The Old Barn on a lovely sunny Friday ahead of the bank holiday weekend. The dance floor is situated upstairs. I don’t know how many people this room holds but gosh it was hot and the bar so small to accommodate the number of people wanting serving. The music was also far too loud for such a small space as you couldn’t hear anyone talking. It looks beautiful however with the fairy lights but we had to go to the lower floor after about half an hour as it was just too warm and noisy. The bar downstairs is a bit more roomy. There is outdoor sitting space at the back but I was disappointed that this consists of just two pub type bench tables. The space is crying out for nice tables and chairs or maybe some couches, umbrellas and nice planters and things. Food was bacon or sausage sandwiches or a vegan option. The sausage sandwiches were ok and served a purpose. We had a great time and the venue could be amazing with a few tweaks

Enjoyed an afternoon at the driving range well priced

My daughter held her baby shower here. Absolutely beautiful. The venue is perfect and so pretty. Very roomy and lots of parking. The staff were more than helpful. The food, far surpassed an afternoon tea. Soup, chilli, bruschetta, fresh salmon..... wonderful. We had some dietary requirements - cheese free, nut allergy and vegan and they were provided for perfectly. We had to add one extra person a few days before and they went out of their way to oblige. I would definitely recommend holding your event here.

Lovely venue! Friendly staff, great for weddings & parties.

It was the venue for a wake and it was so pretty plenty of drinks ie tea and coffee on tap, The buffet was plentiful and very varied menu and sandwiches were very fresh and some more made when ran out.

What a place good golf food beer and Top service brilliant

I actually have been here to attend a family wedding and it had an amazing range of drinks and the staff seemed very friendly but the chicken and bacon caeser salad was not very nice as well as the chicken goujons and the antipasto misti but the DJ was great and overall I enjoyed the wedding but I wouldn't go for a meal

What an amazing place. We have just returned from having our Wedding at the Old Barn Esholt.. The team where amazing.. They made us feel very special both during the lead up to the wedding and on the day itself. The team were so professional in both their attitude and attention to detail.. The food was perfect, the provided DJ was brilliant, the staff were so courteous & professional. We could not recommend The Old Barn at Esholt highly enough.. Great Venue, in a lovely little village where they used to film emmerdale Farm, the Staff was Great, lovely and friendly, and more importantly the Food was Lovely one of the best afternoon teas I have had, with hot food as well as sandwiches , and the Barn itself is a lovely place, would highly recommend it you won’t be disappointed 🙂

Fabulous staff, lovely experience.

The upstairs makes for a nice venue, though a quite small dance floor. The food was pretty decent. Drink selection was standard for a social club/ pub type venue. I was less impressed with the downstairs pub area and the outdoor space was pleasant but shared with with the golf club.

Excellent service, a little over priced for afternoon tea. Bread wasnt very soft.

Beautiful and well maintained party venue. Prices where extremely reasonable although i felt the buffet was not as good valve for money. 4* customer service and would use the venue again. Sadly no self catering available or else it would of been 5*

Lovely venue. Buffet ok, however not much choice and obviously used frozen quiches, which were just defrosted, leaving them very soggy.

Been there for family gatherings firstly a 60 birthday party then for a baby's blessings. Both times excellent service, if anything I am slightly disabled and struggled with the stairs.

Where do I start? We visited the venue in December 2021 to view for our wedding, Diane greeted us and showed us around, we then decided to look at dates as we were happy with the venue, she had a summer date for 2022 available for us, we agreed to this date provisionally. We then sat down and went through the plan of the day, including the time of the ceremony, food etc, here is where Diane decided it was her wedding and not ours, as we were a young couple, she seemed intent on pressuring us to change the time of our ceremony so we would have to pay for more food which we didn’t want, when we explained this to Diane, she went around 100 bends and told us that we have to have 2 courses, we decided on canapés and bbq dinner, we then asked Diane to repeat the whole days process while we noted it down as she is a bit ditzy, this is where she slyly didn’t mention she’d kept the sandwiches in at the end of the day baring in mind our ceremony wasn’t until 3:30pm so it would just be food food food for our guests due to the evening being much shorter, so she only mentioned the canapés and the bbq dinner, we then told Diane to send it all in an email including the figures. A couple of days later, we got the figures on the email and lo and behold Diane had added sandwiches which we implicitly implied that we didn’t want as we had decided on canapés and a bbq dinner, as these were the 2 courses selected, we responded via email asking if this was a mistake, this was followed by the most unprofessional call… We received a call from Diane, which was quite aggressive from such a meek woman, she was speaking to my partner who was telling her continuously that we didn’t want the sandwiches as they wouldn’t fit in with the day and nobody would want them, Diane at this point could have retraced and said, “I completely understand, it’s your wedding, I’ll remove them for you, sorry for the misunderstanding”, however, she dug herself a deeper hole, telling us that the terms and conditions state you must have two courses when previously telling us canapés and a bbq dinner count as 2 courses, my partner handed myself the phone as she was very upset, I spoke to Diane telling her that my guests wouldn’t like sandwiches directly after having a bbq dinner and they would just want to use the dancefloor, Diane immediately responded with anger, “how would you know what your guests would want, you don’t know what people want and what they don’t want”, regardless of the fact that it’s my wedding, speaking to a potential customer like this is off putting and the best bit to top all this off, she eventually gave up fighting and said, “yes no problem I’ll take the sandwiches off”, so after all of this fighting and aggressiveness to a customer she could have done this before all the hassle she gave us. I understand it’s covid and business are trying to make as much money as possible, but Diane was a horrible host, I’m glad she didn’t end up in charge of planning my wedding as she would have eventually cocked it up, a wedding is a good time, not stressing about what Diane is going to force down our throats next time we speak to her, she made it really hard to communicate, as when we didn’t like something, she made it sound as though it was the end of the world and we must have this. Diane if you can see this, please fix up your behaviour and stop forcing or pressure selling, it is not a sales job, you have an important job of helping people organise their wedding days which is enough stress as it is without your aggressive pushy sales tactics.

Would really recommend this venue, I booked my wedding reception here via a meeting today with Tammi for December 2022, looks absolutely stunning, relaxing and more importantly was welcome by amazing staff. Would like to thank Tammi for the meeting and going through every bit of detail and making us most welcome we can not wait for our amazing day !

After an eternity ( due to Covid) we finally managed to have our Festive Afternoon Tea. The selection was delicious and lovingly prepared and the Team were first class as expected. Big festive thank you for a special time.

Beautiful place twinned with a driving range. Was here for a wedding and it was amazing. Couldn't fault it for anything apart from it was slightly small if you wanted large wedding. For a small wedding it's perfect. Staff are very friendly and helpful which helped the day move smoothly.

Had the Afternoon Tea here on Sunday with my family and it was truly amazing. Staff were warm and welcoming the food was absolutely delicious and plentiful the best Afternoon Tea I've had so different from what you would usually expect. Great job guy's can't wait till I'm next over definitely be returning.

Lovely venue and great food, however all alcohol and soft drinks were priced ridiculously high.

Although it was a funeral wake for my wife, it was excellent! The staff were superb, the funeral tea was first class and it was the perfect place to say goodbye!

Nice venue with good access.Dan welcomed me and even provided two cups of coffee .Nice Wedding venue for my ice cream tricycle.

Felt the drinks were pricey... £1.50 for a lime and soda! Food was lovely, situated in a nice country side area. Staff were polite and appearance was clean. Apart from the drinks price, it was very warm upstairs where we were....fresh air needed regularly!

We had an amazing wedding at this gorgeous venue. Diane and the team really looked after us and it was the perfect evening of friends and family enjoying themselves in a beautiful setting. The food was wonderful and they had a late bar too :) I have attended many parties there over the years so I knew I wanted the Old Barn for our special day and so glad we made that decision.

Planned our wedding, got pressured by them to move the date so we did so and now due to COVID will not give a refund. Service was abysmal and I wouldn't recommend this thievery to my worst enemy. EDIT. There response is a shameful lie. Terrible all round. Keep away.

We had such an amazing wedding at The Old Barn!!! Gorgeous venue, delicious food and the staff were just brilliant - every need and request was met for our big day. I can honestly say they couldn’t have done more. Loved by us and our guests alike, and now looking to hold my 40th birthday celebrations there too!

This place might have many 5 star reviews but their treatment of people during the Covid pandemic leaves a lot to be desired. Don't expect to be refunded if your event is cancelled because of Covid restrictions.

My son had his wedding booked for last year. They offered him a full refund with covid. Did the hard sell to reschedule for April this year, 100 guests to 30, which they accepted, they wanted to get married bless them, it clearly can't go ahead, now they won't do a full refund..... really? For an award winning venue, shocking customer service 🤬 avoid like the plague

Had our daughters wedding here this weekend and then back again for Sunday lunch. The whole weekend was absolutely amazing the food, staff and venue deserve six stars not five thank you all very much

Called in for Sunday lunch with friends only having to wait 10 minutes for drinks to appear and even then managed to get the order wrong. Waited even longer to be able to go to the carvery only to find the topside looked cremated so had to choose the pork which was nice however parsnips not cooked but other vegetables were ok .not the best experience but certainly not the worst.do need to concentrate on training !

Attended for afternoon tea. Was really poor. The quiche was exceptionally salty, there was half a sandwich, half a scone, no choice of whether you have cream as was already on the scone, a jelly and a milk shake! Certainly would not return.

Had my brothers wedding here recently, and couldn’t be happier, staff were friendly, attentive and plentyful. Would recommend to anyone wishing for a close, friendly atmosphere for your wedding. My only reccomemdation to the owners/manager is that it does get rather warm upstairs and air con/doors open/more ventilation is needed especially while eating and during the service.... a small detail but one that needs looking at IMO Congratulations on a terrific venue

Great venue! Attention to detail was exemplary and made my nephew's wedding day extra special! The wonderful violinist deserves a mention - she was brilliant and brought an added touch to the proceedings, AND smiled throughout her superb performance!

Went to my cousin's wedding here last night and friendly staff and delicious food

Just had our daughters wedding here and it was wonderful. There's different areas inside and out for people to mingle children to play. The staff are brilliant, welcoming helpful friendly just couldn't do more, it made the day stress free! Good food, served well everyone loved it. Thank you

Went to a wedding reception here and had a fabulous time. Food looked great, drinks were a bit pricey but I'm from London so not as pricey as that!! Brilliant space upstairs for live music and dancing all in all a great night.

Brilliant place, attended a family wedding the staff were lovely couldn't do enough for you. One lady even carried our drinks upstairs for us as my partner who walks with a stick was struggling to get upstairs. The food was delicious and lovely and hot. Perfect setting, it did help that the weather was glorious

Stunning location for a wedding! The staff were so very helpful during the day and patient with us. Could have been a bit smarter as it there didn't seem to be a uniform and with it being a wedding the stood out a little but they were all friendly.
