The staff were really nice and very polite. My burger was lovely chips were a bit well done but was able to put up with them. But the Sunday dinner was a major let down. My wife and step mother were left really disappointed the chicken was slimy like it wasn’t cooked or something and the veg was like it was all from the freezer was all hard not nice at all. Didn’t want to say nothing to the staff as it’s not there fault the kitchen is a let down would not recommend the food but a quite pint in a nice village pub with nice views not bad.

Lovely pub in a nice village. Beer was nice and chilled. Food was really tasty and good value for money. Nice place to stop off to break up a long journey. Original pub filming location for Emmerdale.

My took my mum after we visited the Emmerdale Village Tour. We loved this pub in the village of Elshot. The pub is full of Emmerdale memorabilia. The staff were really polite and made us feel welcome. The food was delicious and the drinks was good.

Felt it really needed some TLC. All tables outside ashtrays overflowing, when leaving all staff outside smoking, dosent look good . Feel very sad 😥.

Very disappointing . We went today and was so looking forward to the food . The Sunday roast was over priced for what it was .. rubbish Yorkshire’s and the meat was fatty . My friends had the burgers … again they were gristly .. overall we found it very disappointing .. the food wasn’t very warm as well . Wouldn’t eat there again

Four of us booked in the morning for a 3pm Sunday lunch. We received a warm welcome and were shown immediately to table that had been reserved for us. Drinks were ordered and came quickly however from there on the food service was very slow. We all had the beef main course which took a long time to arrive and was average. We had intended having a dessert but once menus finally arrived we found that there were 5 very uninteresting options ( 2 of which were Xmas cake and Xmas pudding...in mid January!). We may still have persevered but after 15 minutes of waiting for our server to show some interest we decided to give it a miss. The bar manager was advised re the very slow service but said that the drinks and food parts of the business were seperate entities (therefore not his problem). Bear in mind that there were only 6 others eating when we were there so overall significant improvement needed if we are to return

Bit of a tourist location, but actually very little mention of the Emmerdale background. Pub was small, pleasant but not really worth visiting.

Beautiful little countryside pub, friendly staff with a good atmosphere, food was good, its definitely worth a visit if in you're the area.

New landlords have done a great job. This is a traditional pub which is now clean and serving good food and drinks. Atmosphere is welcoming. Well worth a visit and really hope the effort to turn this pub around is appreciated. Sunday lunch looks lovely.

We visited this place as fans of Emmerdale. Be careful if Google ng it for directions that you actually put the pub name in and not Esholt on its own

Warm welcome, great drinks and lovely food. Been a few times since the new gents took over and they are a welcome change to the previous couple. Lovely food (amazing chips), great service and nice mood in the bar. Will be back regularly from now on.

Recently had our works Christmas meal here. Food was well below average, a lot of frozen items, Service was pleasant though. But unfortunately I wouldn't recommend.

Authentic former setting of the TV pub before it moved to studios. Nice n clean.

If it wasn't for the rain i would have left within 5 mins. I asked for a sandwich and was asked what time i was there till. This was @2.30 i told the bar person leaving @3.30. His reply was oh i might be able to fit that in. A SANDWICH 😂 he said I'll let you know and im still waiting. I bought my husband a pint of over priced beer and didn't waste my money on one for my self. He then asked everyone for a group photo as we were the last tour group. . Missed a trick there as he could have sold a lot of food. Service so slow. Would not recommend at all.

Lovely country pub with welcoming log burner burning on a wet Sunday afternoon. The menu has been revamped with plenty of variety We had garlic mushrooms followed by Roast Beef Dinners, very generous helpings , we had no room for desserts. Staff very welcoming and helpful, we shall be back and highly recommend.

Four of us enjoyed a lovely Sunday beef roast, followed by generous helpings of traditional desserts, in a cosy, friendly atmosphere. Will definitely return! 😋

Great place, very friendly staff. Food was lovely and very dog friendly they even have a doggy menu. Olive enjoyed the doggy ice cream they had on offer. We will be back

Great pub right in the middle of Emmerdale village (Esholt)

Charming pub with great service and character. Food ordered was good, however there is currently a plague of flies. They descended and made it impossible to enjoy. Hopefully they will find out the source and be able to ditch the electric fly swatters. Visit was early evening.

The woolpack pub is a great place with very friendly staff. They have all the cast members photos all over the walls. Nice food also Anne walker

Stayed in car park overnight and had a lovely meal staff were friendly and funny great banter! Would defo come again made us feel very welcome xx especially the manager

Having read some of the negative reviews on here we were wondering what it would be like when we went in on Friday night. They must have been reviewing a different place as the welcome from James could not have been warmer. So much so that we decided to go back in on Saturday night and order food. Despite the fact that they were dealing with a coach load of visitors and the place was packed, from placing our order to delivery was only about 20 minutes (we expected to wait longer). The food was absolutely fine and delivered with a smile by David and the bar staff though they were rushed off their feet. We are looking forward to going back.

We came here for Sunday lunch to celebrate two birthdays. The pub itself is lovely and clean and cosy. The staff pleasant. However we waited over 45 mins for our lunch to come and the pub was quiet! The four people that had beef said it was very tough and dry and could not eat it. The roast potatoes were hard and obviously frozen. It’s not difficult to make roast potatoes. We can cook way better Sunday lunches at home for a fraction of this cost! I also suspect the stuffing ball and Yorkshire puddings were frozen as not great. The only good bit was the cauliflower cheese. We informed the waiter about the beef and he said he would speak to the chef but we got no response. Really disappointing.

A lovely place! Had to pop in after the official Emmerdale tour, we enjoyed a coke, a pint and a hot choc with cream and marshmallows, served by lovely staff members. Food looked great. Really atmospheric village pub

Rang ahead to book a meal and asked if we could stay over in their car park in our campervan, wasn't a problem. Had a lovely meal, there was live music and the atmosphere was terrific. Very quiet and peaceful nights sleep. Staff were amazing, so friendly and had us in stitches. Had a fantastic night. Thank you Woolpack 😁

Visited the old Emmerdale set in Esholt recently with family, and called into The Woolpack for a few drinks,adequate seating inside and out..car park at side of pub. Bar staff friendly, and had a chat with some customers seated inside. Drinks reasonable price.. was a nice sunny day and sat outside in the sunshine, lovely village.

Great pub very friendly. Find was lovely and very filling. Visited on a Sunday and booked in as very busy. Stopped over in carpark over night buy need to book for this option. Dog friendly. X

I took 4 friends from Sweden to visit Esholt and of course the Woolpack. Apparently Emmerdale has featured on TV in Sweden and these lovely people are devout fans! The staff were very friendly and obliging. We all enjoyed the meal. The Steak & Ale pie was particularly popular and very good . Lots of photos in the pub, related to Emmerdale and many of the characters. My friends were delighted to be able to have their photos taken behind the bar, miming pulling pints! There is a sizeable free car park. We visited during the week and it was quiet. Ideal for a peaceful wander spotting other Esholt features from some of the earlier editions of Emmerdale.

Great visit..felt nostalgic being in original Woolpack..looking at the photos on the wall of the days gone by..lovely food, very friendly staff.. Dog friendly & a free stopover..bit slopped..We didn't stay but only because we drove tow car from The New inn but Would recommend a visit.

So disappointed. Called in for a pint and some food after the Emmerdale village tour and when we arrived we were told most of the menu had run out even tho the menu was really limited anyway . Staff very nice but food when arrived was mediocre . This place could be a gold mine with all the tourists but needs urgent jazzing up . Couldn’t help feeling disappointed after such a lovely day

Called in on the off chance on a Sunday afternoon it was busy and we're given menus but could not order for 30 minutes as so busy food was mainly home made and ok , mash was bland and watery reasonable size potions at a fair price 4 front of house staff on and tobles needed wipe down between customers. ordered a hot drink but only 2/3s of a cup arrived overall ok but wouldn't rush back

Ordered jacket potato with tuna mayo. No mayo served had to ask they took taste of potato....cold. Sent it back did get another no butter or Any dressing on so called salad. Rubbish

4 of us went here today and expected a Sunday lunch,however there was non left. We all decided on pie 🥧 and after speaking to some one he served it with veg roast and mash and yorkshire puddings. Was delicious. Thankyou, sorry I didn't get your name but you made our afternoon a delight.

Ordered the mixed platter. The chicken tenders had a pre Jamie Oliver chicken nugget texture. The Bbq wings had a nice sauce, but bbq wings should be crispy not soggy. All in all a dissatisfaction that ruined the experience. Emmerdale fans stay away it’s not worth the bother. The food is not local produced it’s frozen and processed

Had a brilliant evening here, when camping down the road.

First of all it’s worth coming for the food - bravo on that! But flys in the dining room you need to do something about that. They were bad before food and 10 times worse when it arrived. Next if our food has been forgotten about just tell us rather than pretending that there is a delay on food. The order wasn’t put through and we waited nearly one hour when people who arrived 20 minutes after us got food before us. Also in respect of that you could consider offering a free drink or at least an apology.

4 years ago I reviewed. It was very disappointing. Returned to day and what a difference. Food was amazing. My friend and I had the katsu curry it was freshly cooked and was absolutely delicious. All the meals being served looked lovely.£9.50 with home cooked chips and 2 small nan breads. Will definitely become a regular. Well done to new management. Outside seating area is an ideal place to soak up the ambience of this lovely village.

Nice atmosphere for drink and we ordered food but after asking on 3 occasions where our food and being told on each time being told it would be 15mins. We got a refund after waiting 1hr and 1/2 hours waiting.

We went for this pub to have dinner and ordered our meal at 7:30pm. The pub was not busy but our wait was unbelievable. At 8:30 one of the staff came to our table saying the food would be another 20 minutes, I had already been waiting an hour and our starter hadn't even arrived. They said we could have a refund "that's what people usually do" suggesting this happens all the time. We decided to wait the twenty minutes but then we still didn't receive the food in that time we took the refund and left the pub. This is the first time in my whole life I have ever asked for a refund for anything. The pub is a lovely building the staffing or the kitchen staffing anyway is just abysmal.

Lovely pub in beautiful surroundings, however: we had the Sunday lunch, there were 3 staff on, none of whom seemed to know what they doing. The beef was really tough, the rest of the lunch was OK, but the waitress didn't even ask us how...

We Went yesterday was lovely ..carnt wait to go bk .we came from newcastle new owner has it nice .and a warm welcome fron sean and the lovely new lad behind the bar . was olot more pleasant than our last visit when the women...

16 of us turned up on Saturday afternoon after a round of golf unexpectedly the owner and bar staff were fantastic everyone in the pub welcomed us even though we were pretty loud the food was excellent and the baby Guinness went down a treat (thanks to the landlord who had a lot of patience making them 🤪) would definitely visit again when in the area Thanks The golfers from Nottingham

Lovely traditional pub, worth a visit if your an Emerdale fan, great pics of the past cast etc, and a great bit of history. Food was reasonable and delicious, mum said it was the best fish & chips, she had in ages. Worth a visit...

Had a very nice lunchtime sandwich with the best ever homemade chips, followed by coffee and the most amazing blueberry and lemon cake with cream and ice cream. Everything was well presented and service was quick. The staff in The Woolpack are just the loveliest...

When it says homemade it should be home made not from Iceland my fish was frozen in the middle and very greasy my friend had chicken she had one mouthful and left the lot not happy and will not be going back or will not recommend the place

Came for tea with the family today everything was grand good food good atmosphere love this pub I live in Baildon so I’m local will definitely be coming back here plus I have an allotment in esholt so quick walk for a drink. Rather put my money behind their bar than big pub chains. Keep up the good work 👍
