From the moment we arrived, we were charmed by the grandeur of this unique hotel. The staff were all exemplary, hosted by the meticulous Asim who was always helpful and friendly, this was the lovely demeanour of the whole team. He even helped us in through the front door! The breakfast was included and was a welcome addition in a beautiful room. The rooms are gorgeous and clean, decorated lovely. Such a relaxing, quiet, luxurious, and very reasonable hotel. Thank you so much, you are a super team in a super venue!

We only stayed for one night but were very impressed and plan on making it our go-to hotel when visiting family. The property is stunning, and the staff are beyond helpful and accommodating. I would never be able to sing all their praises. The quality of the rooms is on par with or better than other hotels in the area, especially for one that allows dogs. The gardens are gorgeous. The price is very budget-friendly. Cons: The rooms are on the smaller side, and the walls are thin, but that is to be expected with an older property. The breakfast selection was on the small side, but it was free, so it was more than what most hotels offer. There isn't really anything within walking distance. The mattresses were a bit hit or miss.

Staff were fantastic and tried their best but ... hotel is unloved and tired. Feels like owners are trying to run it into the ground or it's a tax making loss. Bed was very uncomfortable, no air conditioning but fortunately not warm weather, and corridor smelt of damp. Breakfast was embarrassingly poor. Children's mini yoghurts, toast, cheap cooked from frozen the night before croissants and cinnamon rolls, very dubious selection of coldish meats that unsurprisingly no-one touched. Only stay here for the location (10 minute walk downhill into Bingley) but otherwise avoid. Needs love and owners to not be cheapshates.

Beds uncomfortable. Staff said the hotel will be upgraded. There is no bar with the intention of never having an alcohol licence going forward. Great location for Bingley/Crossflatts. Lovely building. Would stay there again.

I was in room 16 - top floor - very dated bathroom - no window! (just a skylight) and no WiFi. No alcohol either available, just in case you needed a distraction from the boredom! Both bedside lights were broken, so no chance of a late-night read even, without the main light on. It's a 30min walk into Bingley, which I knew in advance, but was forced to do in the rain as nothing else to do in the hotel. The breakfast is 1970s, some lumps of chopped, stale cheese, spam-looking pink things, 70s cereal, 70s yogurt - no cooked breakfast. Hideous 70s filter coffee and the cheapest bread toasted.

I gave it 4* as it was cold in the room as they turned the heating off at night and only put one radiator on before we arrived. It was a listed building with single glazed windows and high ceilings. It needs the heating on all the time to keep the place warm. They provided blankets for us for the second night. The hotel is beautiful.

Having recently written a review about the Oakwood Hall Hotel in Bingley, titled "A Beautiful Hotel & Five Star Staff". On reflection there were further important points I wish to outline and I felt they were worthy of writing a second individual review. As stated in my first review the hotel and the staff were great and made us feel right at home. But I wish to go further as there are other helpful aspects about this hotel. Firstly the location is ideal as its far enough away from Bingley centre and any noise to be nice and quiet. But at the same time only a few minutes drive to Bingley with its many shops, bars, pubs, restaurants, etc. Likewise its only a twenty minutes drive to Haworth village where you will find the Bronte Parsonage Museum. The beautiful Bronte Waterfalls, Yorkshire Dales, Salts Mill in Saltaire with its three galleries including a David Hockney exhibition and all once again within very reasonable driving distance of this hotel. Secondly the housekeeping of the hotel is very good indeed and Angela and her team do a very good job. Of course I can only comment on our room (14), which was spotless clean. All the services refreshed on a daily basis including coffee and tea plus biscuits. Beds were nicely made up and everything was carried out to a very high standard. The other areas we spent time in including the lounge and breakfast room were again spotless clean. As I decided to write this review I also visited the other dining room and here again everything was clean and laid out to a very professional standard. One thing I would say that although the lounge was lovely and we spent may evenings chatting, playing card games and chilling out on the very comfortable seating. There was a bar but it was unmanned and did not seem to be open. However to us this did not matter, as Bingley was just a few minutes drive down the road with its many bars/pubs/restaurants. We wanted to sample that atmosphere as part of the holiday instead of drinking in the hotel any way. Thirdly to put your mind totally at rest the reception is covered twenty four hours. With a night shift staff who like the day staff, were very friendly and went out of their way to be most helpful and professional. So to conclude as stated in my original review this is a lovely hotel. With excellent staff and highly professional standards/facilities. Enjoy your stay Ted C.

Stayed here recently for a party, having not even realised the hotel existed. Totally surprised at how nice the place was, rooms were modern, comfortable and well furnished. The staff very friendly and accommodating and the food really tasty and enjoyable - a cut above the standard normally served up at such affairs. Would definitely considerer going for an evening meal or Sunday lunch here. A great venue with a good flexibility of rooms and a nice garden area. The hotel deserves a greater presence in the area. Approx 25 mins walk from the railway station and is located within a short drive into the dales. Great venue. Would highly recommend.

Came here for a Christmas party. A lovely place to look at and definitely had the Christmas feel. The food was nice. Starter being the best. Would of loved roast potatoes with my beef. But I guess it’s what I picked at the end of the day. The creme brulee tasted nice, but didn’t seem set enough. The biscuit was amazing. My friend wasn’t impressed with the veggie option. As a stir fry with a few vegetable in for Christmas dinner. Didn’t seem very festive. I did feel sorry for the DJ I must admit. Wrong crowd I guess for dancing 🤦🏻♀️😀.

My family and I have been to Oakwood Hall many times for an evening meal. Please note, I have never stayed at the hotel and my comments are about our most recent (Friday 17th August 2018) trip to eat and not the hotel service / amenities. Up to this visit we’ve always been very pleased with everything but, sadly, this will be our last. We arrived slightly before the time the table was booked for, so decided to get a drink from the bar. Straight away things didn’t look as normal as the bar area was very messy, with used glasses etc all over the bar. We didn’t get the warmest welcome either, which sticks in the throat a little. Don’t get me wrong, we don’t go every week or anything, but I recognised the chap behind the bar, so a cheery hello wouldn’t have hurt. When the rest of our party arrived, we were waiting quite some time to be seated, so we eventually ordered and sat about 30-40 minutes after our booked time. Not good. We ordered some drinks for the table and, when we sat, no drinks. We eventually got these, after asking FOUR times. We didn’t get the water we asked for until desert. Not good enough. I should add, it was not busy. There was our table of 6 and one other with maybe 8. Other than that, the restaurant was empty. A sign...? The food, when served, was average at best. Sad to say as it’s been good to excellent on every previous visit. The worst thing about the whole visit and, I imagine the reason for all of the above, was the lack of staff. There were two people trying to man the bar and serve in the restaurant. The young waitress did her very best and was very polite, but the chap helping her (the one who greeted us, but didn’t, at the bar) was as miserable as sin and did not apologise once for any wait or missed drinks. I get he was stretched, but it’s not like it was busy, and it’s not like the amount of people eating was a surprise, we had booked weeks ago and the other table were staying in the hotel! As I said at the start of this review, we’ve always enjoyed a visit to Oakwood for a birthday or special occasion, but we won’t be going back, and that’s a little bit sad.

The whole experience of our celebration for a special birthday was brilliant. From the first phone call to book the event we cannot fault the service we received. Thank you to all at Oakwood Hall for making a special occasion even more special !!

We were recommended to visit here rather than one of the many good local pubs for lunch. A small private hotel, very quiet and with no passing traffic it was perhaps no surprise that the clientele were all retired folk. Calm but slow service, table cloths and attentive service lent to a feeling of being in a gentleman’s club or on an Agatha Christie set. But, the food was delightful - not elaborate but well cooked and presented. We chose from the fixed price lunch menu - just £12.50 for two courses; a choice from four starters and main courses that are changed daily and published on their website. Very pleasant staff, especially the charming young waiter to whom I apologise for forgetting a deserved tip. I’ll make it up next time.

Last night my husband and I visited Oakwood Hall Hotel. We booked a table in advance (although it wasn't required) and the receptionist was very friendly. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised at how grand the building was inside and out. The grounds and rooms have been well maintained and are filled with antique looking items. The bar was well stocked and the bar man was very helpful and knowledgeable. He recommended different wines for us to try and they were all delicious. The pricing was what you would expect of other similar hotel type venues. The menu was very classic. My husband and I chose from the offer menu which was £17.95 for three courses. The food was very tasty, well presented and portioned. The dining layout was classic, an ambient room with beautiful chandeliers. If you are looking to go somewhere classy in Bingley then this is the best place to book in to.

A fabulously interesting old building, feeling totally private though not far from other houses. Lovely relaxing terrace and secluded garden. The room was good though the furniture in our room wasn't as 'solid' as I would have hoped for in such a traditional building, but this did not affect our stay. I first visited this restaurant in 1987 when I was working in Bingley. I used to have lunch their several times a month. 28 years later on the 24th of Nvember 2015 I called again with my wife 10 minutes to 2 when the kitchen stops serving at 2 o'clock. We were given a lovely lunch with the dining room to ourselves and the standard is as high as ever. The Hotel is still in ownership by the Brassington family and can cater for large wedding parties as well as two large dining rooms of casual visitors. On the day of our visit they were catering for a funeral tea of 100 persons later in the afternoon. The rooms are impeccable and we understand the bedrooms are of a very high standard. I know 25 years ago when we held our Xmas Dinners here they could cope then with large parties and provide a disco too. They cater for quite a few weddings even at this time of year. The food is excellent, service is good and the prices very competitive. You must try this place, you won't be disappointed.

We had a private room too, and it was well laid out with fresh flowers on the table. The afternoon tea was good, fresh and well presented. I would have liked to see labels on some of the sandwiches to identify fillings (vegetarian etc), and on the quiche. Personally, I would have liked the dressing separate to the salad (some guests preferred salad minus the dressing). The mini scones with cream were perfect. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It would have been good to have someone staffing the bar on arrival, though, as there was a short wait. However, we really felt that the staff had tried very hard to make our day special - and succeeded. Will definitely come back and try the lunch/dinner menu. Thank you.

We have been holding annual dinners at Oakwood Hall for a good number of years. We are a small group, around 10 of us now, and we are always looked after superbly. As its usually winter when we meet, there is always a welcoming fire to warm us in the bar area and we are small enough to fit in their "small private dining room" perfect if there are other events also taking place. The food is excellent, always a great choice and menus that tempt you to try new things along with old favourites. Service is second to none, attentive and friendly yet not obtrusive. We stayed on the campsite and had Sunday Lunch at Newsholme Manor. It was lovely, the owners and staff were all friendly and attentive. The bar is small but cosy.

Nice little cafe with a fantastic view over the marina. Lovely food at a reasonable price. Decent coffee too. And a very relaxed atmosphere. The owners were very friendly and helpful. There's a little soft play area in the shape of a boat for the little 'uns too.
