We went here for a birthday meal. We arrived and were stood around for a while until the chef came out and showed us to our table. Our food was very mixed. Half of one of the orders, the chips and veg had been forgotten and we had to remind the waitress. She came and informed us that the chef was just cooking them. My sea bass was lovely as was the duck. The fish and chips and tempura fish were described as tasteless. I don't think we will go there again.

This ancient pub is now a brasserie but you can come in for drinks only with limited drinkers space in the bar area. A lovely interior. Booth told me to have Ossett brewery White Rat, one of two real ales. T'other being Black Sheep. Busy food trade at 5.15 on a Saturday. Large rear beer garden/courtyard for drinkers and families overlooking the river Aire. Probably less popular in bad weather but perfect on a good evening.

My uncles chose this pub for a family get-together meal, after it was recommended to them by a friend. We'd had a long day out, and this pub was just what we needed. The pub was very busy, and they had two new staff starting on the same night (I asked). Despite this, the staff were accommodating, and let us have our table 45 minutes earlier than our booking time. The food was excellent; the pie was filled with meat and very tasty, the fish was delicious, and the chips were chunky and tasted homemade. We were all full and content afterwards; it's what pub food should be. The pub itself is an old stone building with a picturesque beer garden, and the inside is well decorated and atmospheric. It was also reasonably priced, with excellent quality food and nice beer. We'd go again.

We are semi-regular visitors to the White Horse, visiting perhaps 3 or 4 times in the year for several years now. Until this year we have always left with a little niggle, however the last 2 visits have been very good. Service - All the staff were very helpful and attentive. It didn't feel like anything was too much trouble, and service was with a smile. Food - it was seafood month, and so we Oysters to start (excellent), and for mains Chicken Caesar Salad and Moules Frites (both excellent). Dessert - we could only manage ice cream, but we enjoyed this. Drink - we shared a bottle of Rioja, which was excellent! Value - the bill was £115. which i think was good value for an enjoyable meal. Contrasting with the £85 we paid earlier in the week at a competing pub in Sandbeds, which was poor. So well worth paying the extra!

We came out for a family meal on a Monday evening as a table 5. Was greeted by a friendly young waitress who seated us and handed out all the menus. After placing our order for 3 starters the food took around about 25 mins to arrive at the table. There was 3 other tables in as we were seated and they all seemed to be eating or waiting so confusing to why the food took so long. All the food was average at best.. Main meals then took another 30 mins to arrive, no complaints about the food but also no compliments. Was very average. The Eton mess then took another 20 mins to arrive after the mains were cleared. Overall, nice pub, friendly staff.. Slow and average food

Excellent food and beer with great service.

Simply be careful regarding extra scam payments. When I bought 2 courses for 17.95 Julia told me I can have any sauce together(I asked for ketchup, but she implied I can choose one of the better ones.). Which later on you have to extra 2.75 for it. Also on my receipt I saw a £3 supplement payment. Which you don't get anything for it. So I was already scammed for 5.75. The food was wonderful I enjoyed french soup and a steak. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Especially the person with the glasses.

Our reservation was easy. Welcomed by the staff and menu explained when seated. Great and friendly service and the food was well prepared, well presented and very tasty.

Disappointing experience Sunday Lunch for 6. Beef was extremely tough and roast parsnips were inedible. Puddings were disappointing Crumble was sloppy mush and Eton Mess very disappointing. Was overcharged which was rectified. Will not be back in a hurry.

We had a very pleasant birthday lunch for four here. Nicely laid out tables, linen napkins and the food was fresh, generous and tasty.

Only ever pop in once every few months when I'm in Bingley but they do a great pint of Guinness, food looks and smells good, nice little quiet pub, nice outdoor seating

After trying several pubs that didn't have food, me and the Mrs luckily stumbled upon this absolute gem. Proper old British pub feel, gotta love some wooden beams! Food was perfect, sausage and mash portion was massive, and the pork roast was the best she's ever had (which isn't an easy feat)! Desserts were also delicious with very generous portions and can't fault the staff either as service was great. Extra props to Ellie for dealing with an unruly customer by the toilets 👍🏽 Highly recommend and will surely be back!

Very welcoming place, special rooms, impeccable service, careful and quality cuisine

Visited the pub on a Saturday afternoon to see what this "Gastropub" might have to offer. Initial impressions were its quite small inside and the staff seemed a little disorganised. Manager on this occasion decided to deal with the lady i held the door open for, and ignored my partner and i. We made our way to to the bar where 2 young staff were on duty - one learning the bar and dishwasher routine as it happens. Young girl was efficient and arranged drinks for us. We were not offered a menu or table (but tables were available). We made ourselves comfortable and took in the atmosphere and watched the continued service. Fire on the far side felt warm and inviting; but for the duration of our stay with drinks - no food passed us and things looked slow. One table paid and left - again manager seemed too busy to thank them or help direct them out etc. A nice selection of wines; but less offerings on real ale. 2 hand pulled and i think 1 on keg. But hardly inspiring - to be honest; especially as bar staff barely looked old enough to serve alcohol - i didnt ask for a recommendation. Hopefully the constructive comments are taken on board and maybe next time we stop in then we will be offered substantially better hospitality. Good Luck.

Food was so tasty and quality, we took 3 course, thought i wouldn't be able to breathe again :)))) amazing atmosphere, warm, cozy... and very friendly staff. Bravo!

So.. as a regular to this beautiful place I always tip and through hard work offer to buy them a drink after the shift.. which is always argued but through determination by me accepted either a small drink or tip.. tonight I was told that they cannot accept a drink.. I personally enjoy buying those that have created a great experience a drink and think this is wrong that a decision as been taken that staff can’t even drink out of hours with their family.. come on OWNERS what’s this about.. you have had a fantastic team don’t let new rules spoil this

Lovely little pub, and and cosy. Good beers and the land lord is a nice bloke. Even brought us out some free chips which were amazing!

All 9 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals, special mention for the mussels and chocolate assiette but everything was beautiful. We were also made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived, everyone was very friendly & helpful. We will definitely be going again.

A beautiful restaurant pub with a seasonal menu & good wine list. I had Mussels then Fish & Chips paired with a bright Chardonnay wine. I'm very excited for summer when I intend to come back here for Oysters. Good service, and it got quite busy as lunch time went on.

Best restaurant quality food in the Aire and Wharfe valley. We go regularly. Food is freshly cooked and always excellent. Staff are always kind, helpful and nice. We understand they are short staffed and that you have to wait longer for your food but it is worth it because the food is such good quality. Yesterday the scallops were fresh with chorizo and a pepper sauce, the belly pork melted in your mouth. No room for dessert unfortunately.

The food was excellent, the pie was delicious and cooked to perfection ! The waitress was excellent too and nothing too much trouble. Great value and lovely place!

Late Saturday lunch meal at 3.30pm. We chose the pie of the day, meat, succulent, veg, spot on, skin on fries/ mash, great. We will be back !

Had a wonderful 2-3 course lunch, the service was great and the food absolutely delicious. There was plenty of choice with an a la carte menu, a fixed price menu and also a menu of the month (game dishes). The prices were reasonable, the fixed price menu was very good value and the portions generous. All in all, highly recommended.

First visit to this lovely pub/brasserie and it won't be the last. We had soup of the day and scallops to start. The soup was full of flavour and the bread was light and crusty. My scallops were fat, sweet and perfectly cooked in a delicious sauce. The mains, seafood risotto and venison were both very tasty. The seafood risotto had a piece of squid on top which was a little chewy, something that can happen unfortunately but the rest of the risotto was fine and full of seafood. The venison fillet stuffed with cheese and deep fried in breadcrumbs was lovely. The salad was lightly dressed and sauteed new potatoes and were perfectly cooked. We did not have room fir dessert but looking at those desserts that passed out table they looked very good. Staff were really friendly. We shall definitely be returning!

Lovely old pub nestled in heart of Bingley. Good beer garden right on the river. We had a drink before sitting down as we waited for the group to assemble. We ordered off the 2 courses for £17 menu. A good choice for carnivores but poor for vegetarians. The starters were simple but well presented. My mains Tarragon roast chicken was cooked well and the veggies were crisp. Nice creamy almond sauce. The other meals looked as good. My one gripe was the service, why couldn’t they keep all meals hot on the pass and serve them all together? We were caught between waiting ages for the 6 meals to arrive, so some people started and others waited and waited and waited. Awkward table to serve to and we were passing plates over each other which I hate.

Food is very good but ordered desserts cheese cake with white chocolate sauce, came with a golf ball size ice cream, when queried it he said they didn't have the sauce so without telling me he brought ice cream rather than lose the desserts at £7.50 each,I'd rather he asked me first, don't think we'd return

We have been to The Old White Horse before on several occasions - we often go to one of its sister gastropubs - The Stansfield Arms at Apperley Bridge - and have never been disappointed with either the food or the availability of choice of ale by either, but tonight was the exception. We were short of time and needed to eat/drink early evening and so arrived at approximately 6pm. We managed to get a table outside (table 57). We ordered a portion of the Calamari from your Summer Seafood menu which we all (3) thought was gorgeous. I said to my wife that if the quality of food of our main courses are as good as this then we won't be disappointed. For our mains, my wife and her sister ordered Grilled Tiger Prawns from your starters on your Summer Seafood with French fries. I wish I had too!! I ordered Fish and Chips from your standard menu. The Grilled Tiger Prawns were delicious. However, my fish and chips.....the batter looked and tasted like it had been left in the frier for too long and the fish tasted dry rather than succulent/moist. The fish had been placed on top of the chips so the residual oil that the fish had been cooked in had gone through onto the chips and taken away their crispiness. I did raise this issue with your assistant manager when he came over to ask us if everything was ok. As I said earlier we were short of time and did not have time to choose something else from the menu and wait for it to be cooked. So I ate what I had, but left nearly half of my chips, which were as I like them (skin on) and would have been lovely if they hadn't have been soaked in oil from the fish. We always think that fish and chips is a very good "judge" of any eating place offering them.....if you can't get those right, well.....on this occasion you didn't, and the taste of the oil made me feel ill when I got home (we live locally in Cottingley). Serving suggestion.....don't put the fish on top of the chips. The fish appeared/tasted overcooked and had not been given enough time for the oil to drain off it before serving. Not good!! I suspect this is not the norm and would be happy for us to return and give you the opportunity to redeem yourself (if you, in fact, read this!) John D (Cottingley)

I was recommended this place on my birthday in June when I had the seafood platter, we've been twice more since then and the food is just incredible.

The food was amazing but the welcome was lacking which was disappointing as it was very quiet. Cannot fault the food it was superb. Service of the meal was good too.

Top place for a Sunday roast, all freshly cooked food and very good value at £21.95 for a 3 course meal. Will definitely eat there again.

Decided to just pop in for a quick drink. Very nice place but not what it used to be. Very expensive, and not ideal if you just fancy an odd beer. Wouldn't recommend it 👎

Food is just amazing and not a bad pint!

We had six significant issues during our visit! Our reservation had been captured incorrectly. We waited 50 minutes for our dinner and were told it was very busy. We arrived at 5:50pm and there were maybe 6 other people in the restaurant. We were offered bread "on them" and waited 15 minutes for the bread. Dinner arrived and the food was good, but one of us had to wait for a steak knife. They didn't have decaffeinated coffee available after they told us they did. We asked for the bill. On review we had been billed for the adjacent tables's wine, beer and liquor. They attempted to correct the bill, they still left the wine on the bill, so another correction. Although the staff apologized for the inconvenience they didn't offer to comp any part of the bill.

Came here for a meal. Found it too expensive. Starters were on advantage £9 main meals £16 upwards, deserts £7-8. I had a beer that cost £4.50. Had a shared meat/cheese plater for two costs £14. Not enough bread for 2 people. Bread was fresh but cold we didn't mind that but when we asked for some more it came out hot which was a lot nicer. We did not get charged for the extra. Overall, the food was tasty. The beer was good, just too expensive.

Nice cosy welcoming brasserie with outside courtyard overlooking the river. We went in for a couple of drinks but decided to stop for Sunday Dinner Staff were very accommodating and the food was top notch. Starters were different cheese taco with chicken chaser salad which was devine. The shellfish and asparagus on sour dough dough was tasty and ample. The roast beef with the trimmings were plentiful We left full and will be back

What a place this is, by far the best eatery and pub for miles. The food, service and ambience is fantastic, Sunday roast, the pasta dishes and the Chicken Saltimbocca just wow. Special thanks to Adam, Harry, Morgan you always make us feel welcome.

I think this is a bit of an underrated place for food in bingley. I’ve always had better experience here than most other places in bingley. I think the service is good and the food is great. The wine and the dine experience for me...

The food we ordered was amazing and the customer service was first class. However, for fussy ‘traditional’ eaters there wasn’t a huge amount of choice. Would definitely recommend though.

Called in for a drink, found ourselves a table and after the drinks arrived were told we coukdn3sit there as it was reserved, no reserved sign, however we we moved to two small tables for four, after 10 minutes the reserved sign was finally put...

Sunday Lunch fantastic on first occasion. Second a disaster, Yorkshire Pudding actually burnt vegetables not cooked. Staff very unhelpful when I complained in fact, I found them rude.

Poor service from what seemed like disinterested staff. Quite a long wait for our food which was expensive for what it was. Wouldn't choose to return in the near future.

We had an amazing afternoon here. We came for a late afternoon lunch and after a slight mishap with our orders, our food was out a little later than expected, which I barely noticed. The manager apologised personally and offered us drink on the house as recompense, which really wasn't necessary but was greatly appreciated! The food was amazing, I had the onglet steak which I'd recommend to absolutely anyone and everyone. I'll certainly be back! Thank you got the great service and food :)

This is a historic building with a a sympethically updated interior which is very cosy and comfortable. We were greeted on entering and although the place was full we were soon found a table. Did not dine on this occasion but we were so impressed we booked for the next day.

Overpriced! Food was expensive and not very good ☹️ Service was poor. Felt like we had been forgotten/missed. Seems like Bingley has NO nice eateries/restaurants? ☹️ Wetherspoons is cheap n cheerful but otherwise nowhere else is worth a second visit sadly...

Absolutely lovely place, food was wonderful, tasty and beautifully presented but it was the service and attitude of the manager and chef that sets this place apart. Old fashioned attention to detail and treatment that is lacking in other establishments these days. Well done and cannot wait to call in again when next in the area...in fact we would make a trip especially!
