Good food at reasonable prices 😁

Nice friendly atmosphere, I had the fish and chips which was cooked really well. Crispy batter and moist flakey fish and with proper chips! The burger was a black and blue with 2 large onion rings. Would go again, I hear the Sunday lunch is very good.

Food was overpriced and not great quality. I had the Sunday roast and ended up leaving the beef as it was "off" and tasted stale. I was offered another cut but turned that down, no offer of a refund. Drinks were OK as was the service, having said that the place was practically empty at lunchtime. When I read some of the glowing reviews for The Flappit I was expecting much better, I would avoid this place as there are better options available.

Absolutely no atmosphere because we were the only people there. Food over priced and small portions. It's not right to have to take a child somewhere else straight after to get them more food because their still hungry.

Another fantastic meal at The Flappit....I had the chicken burger, partner had the chilli burger....both meals served with homemade chips, onion rings and salad. Shout out to Katie for her hospitality (nothing too much trouble) and Aiden for his wonderful cooking. Really enjoyed the ice cold Thatchers gold too!!! Would definitely recommend. Thanks guys....we'll be back.

Have visited the flapitt before and visited today for tea and thoroughly satisfied. Both of us had burgers, mine was the chilli burger and my partner had the chicken burger. Both came with side salad, large cut chips, and onion rings all homemade. So worthwhile didn't have any room for pudding. Big shout out to the chef Aiden and Katie the bar staff as everything was spot on. Will definitely visit again.

They were trying to tell a former pub owner that their Peroni wasn’t flat. It was. They then proceeded to serve pints in glasses that were used and had not been run through the dishwasher. Nobody collecting empty glasses so the landlord brought down a cardboard box of extra glasses that were all covered in a dirty film of some kind. When I brought this up, the landlady told me to to shut up or F¥£k off out. Charming hospitality.

Went to the Flapitt for tea today 26th June and was totally impressed. Had the steak and ale pie with mash potato and peas. So much steak in the pie it was so worth it. My partner had the cheese and broccoli pie with mash and mushy peas. She totally enjoyed it, especially the chunks of cheese in the pie. Both pies were homemade on the day. The sponge and jam pudding with custard also homemade and delicious as was the biscoff sundae which went down a treat. A big shout out to Aiden the chef, totally awesome food. Many thanks to Amber for her friendly welcome and hospitality throughout. Will definitely return.

Had beef and onion baguette, was gorgeous! It came hot and with extra gravy, couldn't have asked for more, especially for the price ! Definitely will be back :))

We waited 1hr 20mins for food...when it arrived half of what was written on the menu was missing from the plate and it was cold. We politely refused to accept it and paid for drinks and left. Very disappointed to say the least.

Absolutely terrible, waited for over an hour for cold overcooked food. No vegetables. Really poor and disappointing, no explanation why the food was so late and so poor. Do not go.

1st time visiting this pub. There was a folk music open mic session in progress which isn't really my cup of tea but was short lasting. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Dogs also welcome. Mix of genders and age of customers. Food menu available and, although we did eat, the food brought out for others looked great! Both bar and food extremely well priced. Overall, a lovely little pub.

I work in social care and today was supporting three adults with learning disabilities to go out for Sunday lunch. We came to The Flappit and our welcome was lovely, the food was delicious. I had the (Christmas) nut roast Sunday lunch - heaven...) and everyone said they definitely wanted to go again. Thank you so much. Highly recommended!!!!!!

Dog friendly pub which it should be in this beautiful country side

Tired, warn out and, very small. Although food is served here, its not advisable where there's dogs are welcome, esp big ones.

Made welcome straight away even though we were the only ones in. Very helpful in explaining what was what on the menu. I had a Sunday roast dinner and they even made me glutenfree Yorkshire puddings to go with the gravey. My better half had same but she required everything Lactose free. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed it and would recomend it to everyone and not too pricey in fact cheap enough to allow us to have a nice drink from a wide variety of choice. Highy Recomended By Us 5 *****

Me and my other half called in for some food today . Great service and some lovely home cooked food whilst sat near the fire on this chilly evening.We had 2 courses 2 pints and a coffee and the bill was only £45 and well worth it. We will definately be visiting again soon. 😊

When for Sunday lunch. Had to wait an hour and there were two people besides my family in pub! The meal wasn't even warm when we did eventually receive it. We came when restrictions were on for a drink and sat outside which was nice but not for a meal.

Had been over summer and eaten in beer garden. Had lovely fish and chips this week, fish was delicate and white with lovely batter and not too greasy

Lovely place good bar man tried to book a party barman took details but management were very slow to respond like 4 days only to be told they had something else booked..why wasn't the bar manager privy to the same information??? Poor management ..shame..

I'm sorry but the food and service were dreadful. I really want to support the local pubs but I don't even begin to understand how they got the pastry so tough on our pies - we almost needed chisels!

Called in for a quick pint whilst passing. Haven't been in for years and was pleasantly surprised. The layout was was different to what I remember and looked recently revamped. Toilets were a bit drab but looked clean. Will definitely call again.

Joe the barman was welcoming and friendly he made our night. The service which was Joe was attentive but not overpowering, the food was hot and good value for money.

A person in our group ordered the flat iron steak meal, when it arrived it didn't come with the mushrooms, fried tomato and onion rings. Probably should have complained... But still quite an oversight for 12.95!! The pie was nice, mash a bit lumpy for my liking, but Gravy was ok. Probably won't go back to be honest.

Great roast dinner, with big servings and great puddings too. The beer and drinks served are very good. This is a pub restaurant I would highly recommend and definitely revisit, you won't find anywhere better in the area. Reasonable prices, great food and friendly service.

Good quality food and nice friendly host, we will be back very soon. The steak pie is one of the best I’ve had for many years.

Friendly and efficient table service

Took 2 hours to get 2 courses for 4 people. The food was poor quality and overpriced, 25 minutes to advise a dessert was off the menu and when 2nd choice arrived the custard and ice cream were wrongly apportioned. Stay clear

Four of us went for tea last night it wasn't overly busy two people ordered chicken burgers and two people ordered roast beef sandwich. The chicken came out and was just a plain chicken breast in a bun no seasoning at all you got six chips that were not cooked properly. The beef was so over cooked it was like shoe leather we had to ask for gravy because it was so dry I would never eat there ever again and if it hadn't been half price I would not have paid for it. The saving grace was the chocolate fudge cake which whilst my daughter was eating hers had cardboard in it from the packaging I just feel to charge the prices they do you would think the food would be fresh and seasoned

Went to take advantage of the Eat out scheme after struggling to get in anywhere else.Very rarely write reviews unless things are fab or dreadful. Unfortunately this was leaning towards the latter!Negatives:- only one menu allowed for a table of 6 (Covid rules)- drinks order took a long time to come and some were missing- staff struggled with everything, really could have done with some training- most of the food was pretty poor and 3 of the meals had buts missing - we were told pie of the day was cheese and when it arrived was meat and potatoPositives:- staff were trying hard but just needed a bit of guidance- beer was good-desserts were lovely

We recently visited the Flappit for the eat out to help out scheme but were very disappointed. The chicken burgers were plain chicken, no seasoning, Sauce or salad with a handful of chips and lettuce on the side. The fish and chips were soggy and starchy. The cheeseburger didn’t even come out with any cheese on it and was very overcooked. The staff although friendly were young and inexperienced often having to be asked for service. If the food hadn’t been half price we would have definitely complained, for the price the food is extremely sub par. Very disappointing.

3/6 had chicken burgers which arrived with no seasoning what so ever not even pepper on them. There was also no salads or sauce in the chicken burgers making for a very boring meal. The cheese burger ordered came with no cheese. Had to ask for it to come back with some grated cheese not even melted. Fish and chips ordered were a tiny portion and had soggy batter. Although the waitresses seemed inexperienced, they were obviously not well trained to notice when a table needed clearing or if drinks needed replenishing there was a lot of miscommunication. Overall high prices for sub par food and service.

We visited last week and we had to wait 40 minutes for her to take our foof order.Another couple got served before us .The drinks were wrong Food excellent when we got so we booked again for tonight and fuss what we got our drinks and the menu and the track and trace but no good order .Another table got served before us.Menu had less on and less people in I wonder why.Yeslets talk behind the bar and ignore the paying guests.What a shambles. No way will we be back.

What a total shambles .Went last week for the Eat out scheme and waited 40 minutes before we were served.Food excellent so we booked again for tonight hoping it was a once off.Got there for our booking at 5.30pm .Got out drinks and the menu .Then a track and trace was that to find the food because again because we didn't get served .Another table did.2 women more interested in chatting behind the bar than serving paying guests.No way are we coming back.😠😠😠😠😠😠😠

Sunday dinner spot on. Nice and hot. All fresh veggies

Having driven past many times in the past. We thought we would call for lunch last Wednesday. What a lovely surprise. We both had one of the sandwich lunches, which were served with chips and salad. Both were excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful .....Oh the beer was excellent too. We will certainly be calling here again for lunch or an evening meal. In the not to distant future.

Often driven past this pub, but this was the first time visiting as I was visiting a wool shop close by and thought I would give it a go for lunchThe pub is small, but cosy and clean, smelled nice and the staff were friendly We choose a table and for a Saturday it was empty only a couple of people at the bar, the weather was horrible outside, so could be why it was so quietThey only have a mall menu, but at about £7 a main course it is reasonably priced. I choose the mushroom soup and ploughman’s and hubby haddock goujons. The soup was gorgeous it was thick and creamy and the seasoning perfect, in fact one of the nicest soups I have had and definitely homemade, nice and hot too, nothing worse than lukewarm soupThe ploughman’s was nice, plenty of ham and cheese, the homemade coleslaw was nice too, plenty for me to feel full afterwards. Hubby liked his meal, said the batter could have done with being a little crisper but it didn’t put him off itOverall a nice home cooked meal, would recommend and I would visit again

After reading tbe positive reviews we poped in for lunch. Although quiet as doors just opened, it was clean and inviting. Friendly knowledgeable staff.Not a large menu but good filling meals all made fresh to order.Chicken and stuffing baguette with chips and gravy, roast beef toastie with chips and gravy.Simple but tasty food.

The landlady is amazing, the people make the place. Highly recommend the food here, never had a bad dish and was unreal value for money! Must try the Palma Violet Cider 😋 and Sunday roast, and cheesecake ❤ family favourite this place. Thank you for always making us feel so welcome xx

Lovely atmosphere and great range of beers

Although the menu is not massive the food is fantastic. Had the Tikka Pie and the choc and caramel cheesecake. Could maybe do with some green vegetables to go with it but that is not a complaint (just me making myself feel less guilty eating such good food). Staff really friendly. Can't wait to visit again.
