Early on a Wednesday so exemplary service and wonderful food. Recommended for curry in Hove, best out there! Went bank hol Friday, still great just more people = more atmosphere :)

Excellent food and friendly Staff at fair prices. One tip If you like it spicy, make sure to say extra chili.

The food in this restaurant is always fresh, tasty and the portions are perfect. The restaurant looks good, and it's clean. The staff are professional. The only reason I took 1 star off was that I felt rushed to finish my drink after I finished my meal and paid for it all.

Food was tasty but more catered to a lesser spice level. Service here was very good.

Having had a wonderful meal from Ganges Brasserie previously we decided to order another take-away. What a BIG mistake! The food was nowhere near the previous quality. How different.

The food was mostly good. Wine by the glass was ok too. Friendly waiter. Unfortunately service wasn’t great, we were at the back of the restaurant. We tried to get his attention and noticed that each time he looked like he was going to walk towards us he got stopped by people at other tables and then didn’t come back. Maybe they were short staffed.

Excellent restaurant. Great service, lovely ambiance, and delicious food at a fair price. Will be back.

Our usual curry house was closed on a Tuesday, but we both really fancied a curry so we thought we would try Ganges Brasserie, we was so disappointed it was tasteless and watery!!!

Best curry restaurant in Brighton and Hove.

Been before, but won't be going back, very bland food, jalfrazi had no spice at all. Plenty of curry restaurants in Hove so I will be going elsewhere from now, Shame 🙁

What you get is an ok curry, served in tiny portions at a hugely inflated price. The Chicken Tikka has a minute amount of sauce to chicken ratio muddled with the salad being more plentiful than the main course. If you order delivered, it becomes even more ridiculous as you are expected to assemble the bloody thing on delivery. The sauce came in a small sauce pot you would usually get as a side dip to your chicken strips at a kebab shop. I felt massively ripped off.

Food is nice, however after going over my order twice - they still forgot x2 rices even though i ordered 4 curries! check your orders...

Lovely food had garlic king prawn balti and beautifully cooked garlic naan. Great service even though busy. Just a simple enjoyable eating out experience.

When paying the bill, a brandy each was given to us without charge. That’s service! Thank you Ganges!

Lacked flavour, very mild spices

Went here for dinner, The service was fine but the food was not great. I went for the mixed grill and they forgot the salad, when they did bring it out it was just lettuce! Others had curry's and said the food was average. The other problem we had was the lighting, it was very dark unless you are fortunate enough to sit under a spot light. The prices are reasonable though.

My husband and I visit the area every summer and this is hands down our most favorite restaurant! The menu is broad, literally everything they make is fantastic - excellent use of spices, very filling portions, choices of chicken, lamb, prawn, or vegetable (there is one beef dish), so many choices! I’ve been working my way through the menu for years, still haven’t made it through them all. The staff are all super friendly, the interior is well-appointed and cozy with photos of Brighton. And if you have picky eating children like we do they do have a few classic English meals that should suit them, too. You are seriously missing out if you don’t try these guys out; they do delivery, too (see two pics!)! Thank you especially to Enam and Wahid for being such wonderful hosts to us.

They did spiceless Indian takeaway food, which I have never had before. The tandoori chicken was dry as bone and not even sufficiently salted, let alone tasty. The chicken biriani was very oily tomato-type rice with bits of chicken. Couldn't taste any spice or see any vegetables, just broken rice floating in vegetable oil. The vegetable curry was like Irish stew, without salt and pepper. There wasn't a hint of chilli or garlic or even mild curry powder. Nothing. I like Irish stew, but only when I order it. Surprising and very disappointing.

Chicken Dhansak was described as hot and sour but appeared to have had a bag of sugar dropped into it in the kitchen. Mushroom Bhaji was more mushroom omelette minus the egg. At least the Cobra was cold.

Handled big bookings effortlessly

Seriously do not know how this venue is rated so highly on here! Sadly, Chilli Pickle had to close due to COVID so we had to find an alternative. A friend recommended this place despite having not actually eaten there. However, TripAdvisor ratings were good so we booked. Firstly, the portion sizes are shockingly small. The mixed starter would not feed a toddler. The curry portions were honestly abysmal, especially for the price. We were disappointed with the size until we actually tasted the food. Bland, flavourless and simply pitiful. It was such a disappointment. The food is the least authentic South Asian food you can imagine. Even the garlic naan breads were dry and tasteless. The only saviour was the poppadoms and mango chutney. Looking around this very busy restaurant, the clientele (seemingly all regulars too) were consuming a lot of alcohol so one concludes, this has clouded their judgement and TripAdvisor reviews. Avoid this place.

Had a fantastic meal here tonight. As always, the food was great and the service efficient. It was a Tuesday evening and it was quiet and completely different to when we recently visited on a Friday evening. Recommended.

We recently changed to Ganges takeaway and this was our 4 or 5th time of ordering. I order the same curry every single time because I know what I like and it’s always a chicken tikka masala! My husband likes different curries and the hotter the better for his weird taste buds! As usual, my husband ordered a chicken tikka masala for me and his own curry plus extras. I haven’t managed more than 3 spoonfuls - it’s much hotter than usual, (spice not warmth as it was actually surprisingly quite cold considering how close we are to the place). My nose is running and my throat actually hurts - I can usually handle a medium curry so this was very unexpected! I called the restaurant to ask whether there had been a change to the recipe, I explained that the curry was much hotter than normal and I was told there had been no change, I explained that I was finding the curry way too hot and they reiterated there had been no change therefore insinuating I was the one moaning for no reason. (Even my husband’s spicy tongue found it very hot!) So we are back on Hove’s ultimate curry takeaway. (I awarded 2 because my husband’s said his food was tasty … I couldn’t try his and comment because my tongue felt it had been skinned 😫)!

Wow, my brother and nephew are fans of this restaurant: so it was our first time. We were 22! Absolutely incredible. Best food, service from an Indian restaurant for a long time. I first visited here with some work colleagues a couple of weeks ago. I was impressed then and thought that another visit was warranted. Tonight I went with my sister and to be honest, I was expecting to be mildly disappointed as sometimes the second visit to a place is not quite as good. Ganges is definitely not a place that disappoints! The food was exceptional, the flavours just dance on your tongue. The food is to be celebrated not merely eaten as you chat. The service is just right, that clever blend of friendliness and professionalism, making you feel at home, yet a valued guest. A complimentary brandy or baileys just finished it off superbly. Marks out of ten? Oh a definite TEN! I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

There are some good Indian Restaurants in Hove but this is my favourite. Staff are always friendly and efficient and the dishes served are appetising and of good quality.

!!! Tips cash only. Great food, the Naans were seriously fluffy with fresh garlic etc. Helpful and attentive staff that were to the point and knew the food Quick clean service. Went out with my wife and daughter, booked the table, went in guy at front desk was a little brash, put it down to being busy. Sat down had poppadoms and mixed dips. Drinks ordered, within seconds asked what we wanted for main, from when we arrived to leaving all in 1 hour, clearly wanted us to eat and leave as soon as possible, so could have table for next customer. Bill was brought to us, no rush he said, within seconds card machine thrust at us, paid, still finish 2nd drink, (we did just have time). Guy who was at front desk and said take time no rush, hoovering over us oh your still drinking, so necked our drink and left. If it wasn't for eat out to help out would have worked out over a pound a minute. Shame as say food was good, but will not go back.

I have just had a takeaway meal from the Ganges Brasserie . It was absolutely delicious as always . I am a key worker for the NHS and have also recovered from that awful illness Covid 19 . Having been in BSUH for 2 weeks, one week which was spent in Intensive Care then 10 weeks slowly recovering at home and finally able to get back to my work for the NHS last week. My sense of taste and smell only retuned to normal 2 weeks ago and I was craving an Indian meal from my favourite restaurant in Hove and tonight I was certainly not disappointed. I guess it’s hard to stand out as an Indian restaurant in a street full of Indian restaurants, but I think Ganges Brasserie could work a little harder. Being busy doesn’t mean the staff have to rush around thereby creating a less than relaxing atmosphere. Being busy still requires you to get the order right. King Prawn Massala ordered, Chicken Tikka Massala arrived. The food itself was OK, but unspectacular. Maybe if Ganges Brassiere had to work a little harder to attract customers, the overall experience would be better.

Had a takeaway with the England Netherlands football contest in the background, we’re a group of 4 really good friends who were particularly hungry due to early lunches. They didn’t have my usual on the menu (Sirloin steak w/ chunky skin on fries), so I was forced into a curry with the rest of the troop. But bloody heck I was impressed, the giant crisps and orange colour sauce were very very good. Complimentary after 8’s to finish it off. 5* would go again.

Staff are friendly and helpful and have regulars eating there. We were able to get in without prebooking. The food was nice and reasonably priced, service was good. We both had typical indian dishes, vegetarian and meat dishes.

I enjoyed the food. All were freshed and the curry is not too strong. It just perfect. I recommend this place for Indian food.
