Gandhi Takeaway in Portsmouth

First time using this restaurant. It was by far the best curry I have had. Arrived within the stated time. Food was fantastic.

Astounding garlic chilli chicken. Highly recommend.

Ease of ordering via website. Opted for Gandhi as our usual Indian wasn't answering their phone this evening. Slight delay, but transparent about it via the web-order system and the food arrived earlier than stated on site. Food was hot on arrival. Ordered a starter, main, rice and nann for 2 to share. Regretfully the Patia curry was spicier than anticipated, stated as being 'fairly hot.' My partner now fears tommorrow morning and myself as a spice queen felt it was a bit much. Shall have to try other curries from Gandhi to get a good scope of heat and flavour. Despite the spice mistake, everything was well portioned, of a decent quality to warrant the price and to satiate the Indian food fix.

Ghastly takeaway, curry was watered down, the cannon ball bajhi was dryer than Gandhi's flipflop, chips were cold and the chicken was pink inside, still waiting for a response from just eat, I did phone the establishment and the person I spoke to assured me it was all freshly cooked, they just didn't say when it was freshly cooked(last week at a guess) highly would recommend avoiding

Genuinely one of the most disgusting Indians I’ve ever had the displeasure of ordering. Not even sure where to start. All the sauces were lacking the usual kick and flavour,the tikka was mostly tomato purée more and meats were rubbery and virtually inedible. The peshwari naan was some of the worst too, burnt and rock hard. Lastly, the portion of rice was barely enough to feed a small child. Never every again will i be returning to this hell bucket of a takeaway. I strongly implore the Portsmouth residents to follow suit and get these frauds of the high street asap!

Quick and reasonable with good food

Wouldn't use again as I don't like re-cooked food. The chicken was solid and burnt on the outside and the rice was very greasy, my bin enjoyed it !!

Ordered the chicken korma with garlic rice. Was nice but not as Creamy as traditional korma, a little watery. However it still tasted good. Was piping hot and the delivery man was very polite. I would order again

Order took over an hour, food cold, chicken so dry. And vegetable curry a funny colour, really dark, never again. Used to be great but it seems not now.

Lovely food but the deal of a free dish if you spend over £30 was not honoured. Nothing offered.

The food, as always, was lovely. The problem was with the app. We went to a previous order of chicken korma and chicken tikka masalla, checked it and reordered it. We received a lamb tikka korma and a vegetable masalla. I checked the receipt and what they sent was what we ordered. The app changed the order when I reordered. Advice - check any repeat order before hitting send. The meal was still lovely though.

Not sure what we received but it was not a tikka masala and tasted awful! What a shame :-(

Was ok. Curries always a little watery though.

Late delivery. Wrong curry delivered, food half cold - I needed to heat it up. The poppadom was just a bag of crumbs where it had been crushed. Would not use this takeaway again.

Could tast the ingredients that were meant to be in the dish, unbelievably sweet like a bag of sugar was used, unedable. They aslo forgot parts from our food. Overall terrible, used to be good. We won't be ordering again

Really disappointed tonight, ordered keema, garlic and cheese nan and cheese and garlic nan, the nan breads were loaded with so much garlic paste making them incredibly soggy and extremely inedible. Also the onion bhajis were so smothered in so much oil. With the latest price increase you are going to have to up your game or you will go out of business as this meal just wasn't worth the cost.

Last night 14/12/22 My husband, my best friend and I decided we would order in an Indian. This is close by to my house, so decided we would try this one. our order was due to arrive at 19:10, it did not arrive until much later than this at 19:55, when the food arrived, everything was cold except from the curry. I wanted to call and return everything but by this time it was getting late. I think delivering cold food almost an hour late, without explanation, is diabolical, especially when it was a £70 order. The only reason I have given more than one star, is because my husband's curry was hot and had really good flavour. I wouldn't go again.

Gandhi is normally my go to for Indian food but tonight was a bit of a let down, the bhajis were dry and the curry was watery and had no flavour, had to throw it away - really disappointing

Currybwas bland, and the chapatis were like cardboard. Didn't enjoy one bit. Won't be ordering from here again

Took 1.5 hours so was hoping the fact they must be busy must mean its going to be good. Unfortunately not, the balti and rice were OK but he naan was a wet soggy mess and the saag paneer was dry and chewy. Sorry not enjoyable and definitely not worth the wait.

Not had food from here before. I have to say it was excellent, Nans were nice and fluffy onion bhajee cooked all the way through, absolutely no oil on top of the curries like so many other places. Will certainly get from here again.

Refreshing to find an Indian restaurant which doesn’t have ridiculously bright red food colouring masala!! ONLY downside is I asked for onion salad in the notes because there’s nowhere to order it, and it didn’t arrive. There’s no option for raita etc either :( but the food quality is great! Lamb was not chewy like so often it is at Indian takeaways. The whole order was tasty and felt really fresh! :)
