Galloways Bakers in Preston

Traditional Bskers shop I have visited Gallowsys on many occasions and never been disappointed proper pies full to the brim and exceptionally well seasoned and that's coming from a wiganer (true pie ester)

Best sausage rolls ever,plenty of meat lovely pastry,staff very friendly

Absolutely horrendous customer service from one of the staff members - woman in the glasses. Incredibly rude and unprofessional. People are buying the food, have some respect for the people who just want some food during what is most likely their lunch break.

Mediocre meat and potato pies watery tasteless custard OK but very expensive 4 pies and a custard nearly 13£

I personally prefer their cakes and desserts only! The staff are extremely friendly. 4 stars for Galloways👌🥧👌

Visited Galloways when we were in Preston last weekend. The snow cake on display looked so tempting we could not resist. Also got a butter pie. Staff were not particularly friendly & we were charged £5.30 though the printed menu stated £2.40 for the snow cake & £2.45 for the butter pie. The butter pie was filled with smooth & creamy mash but there wasn't much of an onion taste though it was labelled as butter & onion pie. The bottom was also a tad soft & soggy. The snow pie was humongous & though it was light on top, the bottom of the cake seemed more dense & dry. Overall, the quality of the bakes wasn't bad but they were a tad overpriced, & listed menu prices were not followed. Not a great first impression of Galloways.

The slowest service you will ever receive, absolute chaos in this shop. If they have more than 3 customers the time it takes to serve them is mind boggling - the amount of people that must walk in here and give up and walk straight back out it happened 3 times whilst I was waiting to be served. I have bought pies etc from here a few times and its always slow and at this point I've given up. Its also very unclear where to stand in the shop to queue which causes more problems.

Really like how they do a lot of different and unique pastries and savouries that the more mainstream bakers do not offer. Always enjoy visiting a Galloway's and the service is spot on.

Absolutely brilliant pies and deserts,not expensive for the taste and just delicious.

Don’t really appreciate the fact that the server picked my food up with her bare hands after serving someone before me with loads of dirty change, should of washed her hands or used tongs, food went straight in the bin.

The meat and potatoes pies are useless, it's just a load of mush inside the pie, it looks like it's been threw a blender , it tasted a bit pepperire , it was useless HOW IS THAT A MEAT AND POTATO PIE !!!!

Found a gravel type stone in my pie not gristle as it looks like a concrete stone ....

Overpriced at £5 for two meat & potatoe. Won’t be going again.

Large sausage roll for 2 quid what a rip off. Don't think the staff are very friendly either.

We were in preston for a bit of shopping but hadn't much time to eat so my wife suggested Galloways as she had always gone there years ago when taking our daughter to university. She got a chicken muffin which was very big and very good. I chose a meat pie which was burnt on the bottom hence the score. Come on Galloways, look before you serve.

Galloways are the best bakers around compared to the others. Highest quality products and best value for money. Available from breakfast to tea time. Pies, pasties and cakes are all on display. They now accept card payments too 😁 👍🏻❤️

£5.50 for a beef and onion roll and mini hot pot? And I was admonished for walking in through “the wrong door” (the one adjoining the street). I certainly won’t be back here again!

We just needed to grab something to eat for lunch before catching a bus. My partner chose a meat and potato pie and I got a ham salad baguette. The price was £5.80 which seemed a bit steep, but I hoped it would be good. My partner's pie was filled with what appeared to be greyish mashed potato highly seasoned with pepper and tasting of little else. My baguette was pre-prepared, apparently not the day I bought it. It was tough soggy bread. The salad was no longer fresh. Some of the lettuce had gone slimy. We threw both items away. What a waste of money. Never again

Used to come here every weekend with my grandparents to buy the same cake every week. The quality of the food is great and the staff are so kind.

Delicious butties and cakes. The staff also very friendly and helpful. The butty I wanted had all gone, but the staff member made one for me😊

The food is lovely here, but the way the staff talk to you, i never knew people could be so rude, job security must be very high. This bakery sells nice cakes that i cant find elsewhere but im never coming back due to how ive been treated, is a real shame

I usually take my own lunch to work but on the off chance I haven't prepared anything I nip into here on my way into work and know that I'm getting a nice fresh sandwich for lunch. There were some sandwiches already prepared, mostly prawn and tuna (I eat neither) my husband loves the ham salad from here so I asked for a ham salad. Quite within my rights to do so (there is a sign that says that if you can't see what you want ask and they will make it). Well all of the sighs and the tone of what she was saying made me feel like I had asked too much of her. In the end I selected a readymade sandwich out of the fridge for myself which isn't really what I wanted because I was made to feel so uncomfortable asking for my husband's sandwich. Then another sigh and a face made because I paid with a £20. Considering this is 2019 and this shop still doesn't yet take card is frustrating especially when I had to go to the cash machine especially and £20 is what the machine gave me. All throughout this experience I was the only customer in the shop, you would have thought she rammed! I visited this shop at 8:10am. When more customers came in before even taking their orders she told them they couldn't pay with a £20 note because lots of customers had paid for small amounts with a £20. My bill came to £6.90. I'm hesitant to return if I'm made to feel this uncomfortable ordering my lunch again.

Came into buy some things, didn't have a card machine, ran to the bank to get some cash to pay and they had the gall to complain to my partner while I was gone! Seems this bakery needs an update to it's payment options and customer service skills :)

Went into shop and the woman who served me was appalling her attitude was disgraceful. The big lady who I think was the manager was just as bad. Food cold poor quality never again will I go in shop.

Called in for a lunchtime snack whilst visiting Preston for the day. I had a meat pie and my wife had a butter & onion pie. Very tasty and superb value for money. Highly recommended.

Great value £1.50 for a great bacon/sausage barm, also various combinations available including pies and usual bakery items, good quality and great value.
