Went for lunch with our son daughter in law and 11 month old grandson. From the outset the staff were very accommodating even rearranging tables to allow for the high chair. Service was very good and the food was very tasty and nicely presented within a relaxed atmosphere.

Been here many times before and have always enjoyed it. It used to be one of our favourite places. Visited mid week (Wednesday) for drinks/snacks. It was very, very quiet so one would imagine there'd be no trouble getting served. Plenty of staff around but they appeared to spend more time chatting amongst themselves in the corner. In a nutshell, service appalling with staff disinterested. Waited ages for drinks/snacks to arrive and had to search out staff to "chivvy" things up. Extremely overpriced was what it was. We won't be back any time soon (if ever).

We were in town for lunch we just wanted some thing light so popped into Fuego in Fenwicks store . We ordered one portion of the days special which was chicken souvlaki with tzatziki and beetroot salad , 1 tomatoe salad and 2 glasses of Prosecco . The drinks were less than half a glass each , the souvlaki was on the tiniest starter plate with a teaspoon of purple something which turned out to be the tzatziki mixed with beetroot juice there was 4 grape sized pieces of gristley chicken on a tiny skewer and the Tomatoe salad was chopped woolly tomatoes served on a miniature saucer - it was very poor . When the bill came it was £43 we were totally shocked it was extortionate - we certainly won’t be returning in future

Restaurant Week proved to be a great opportunity to experience Fuego. The tapas selection suited us & the cocktails were spot on. Only one negative, the noise. The chatter level was excessive to the point where it may deter us from returning.

Had a lovely relaxed lunch with a friend at Fuegos. Tom our server was great at recommending tasty menu choices. The Tortilla with Iberico Pork, Paprika & Aioli recommended by him was the highlight. Also enjoyed the Pizza Blanco. Much chatting and several glasses later off we popped for some shopping in Fenwicks.

We had tapas and the Spanish tortilla (something I eat often) was 99% potato and very greasy! It was all rather underwhelming especially for Fenwick food hall. The focaccia was ok, no sea salt on the top and would have been better with rosemary added to the ingredients. All just very basic. Washed down with champagne, nice enough. 10% service charge for sitting at the bar. The staff were pleasant enough but undeserving of the 10% service charge that is demanded and is not expressed as ‘optional.’ So we kindly asked it to be removed. They removed it without asking if everything was ok. Wouldn’t return.

My friend and I had the Fuego sharing board for two which had a samples of various things on main menu - selection was good lovely fresh salads , cheese, tortillas and tapas only thing that let it down was the Parma ham as it looked very unappetising just like thick cut uncooked bacon but the rest on offer was very good and excellent value at £23 we ordered a glass of Prosecco each to go with it . We really enjoyed our lunch but were quite shocked when we got a bill for £51 and saw the prosecco was £10 per glass and the tiny bowl which held exactly 5 olives was £5 plus a service charge was added ! As we left we called into the wine merchant part of the Fenwicks deli where the restaurant is situated and saw the same Prosecco we paid £10 per glass for was only £17.95 a bottle - definitely won’t be going back as hate being ripped off

This restaurant was recommended to us by many friends who said it was wonderful so we decided to go for a birthday treat and we were not disappointed. Because it was a special occasion we were given a lovely table in a nice and quiet part of the restaurant. Regularly visit Fuego as they serve honestly the best pizzas I’ve had in my life, especially pollo! All alternative food and drink we’ve had are outstanding and for a restaurant to keep this up on a regular basis is impressive. Food and most drinks are very well priced for their quality and the atmosphere is relaxing and friendly. Staff are more than happy to help and always go out of their way to make the experience special every time. For example, Jackie on our last visit was very sociable and offered my sibling a complimentary glass of Prosecco to celebrate her special occasion. It really is a hidden gem tucked in the back of Fenwick Foodhall but definitely somewhere you need to try.

A favourite haunt but a disappointing visit this time. They forgot one order then, when questioned, said all food was prepared fresh so there would be waiting times. This would be right except the forgotten dish was a cold Mediterranean platter and the rest of us had hot food. We’d finished our meals by the time the platter arrived. The lovely Maitre ‘d asked if everything was ok, so we were honest about our disappointment and she apologised and offered us free desserts. Good customer service, except when the bill arrived she’d only given 2 out of 6 free desserts and taken the platter off the bill. Most of us wouldn’t have bothered with desserts until they’d been offered as a goodwill gesture. So, disappointing l, especially as I had family up from London and told them this was going to be a real treat.

We love this place and as it was included in the Newcastle January restaurant week it would have been rude not to visit with friends. After being shown to the table the drinks order was taken quickly by a very attentive waiter who was able to answer questions we had about some of the dishes on the special menu. The drinks arrived promptly and the food order taken. My wife and one of our friends had pizza and both of them said they were amazing and my wife felt the portion size was very generous. Our other friend and I had the 3 tapas. I had a lamb dish in a very fine pastry which was really tasty as was the seabass and you can't go wrong with Potato's Bravas. A really great meal on a Friday afternoon and got the weekend off to a great start.

Food was very tasty as was the wine but maybe a little expensive but the atmosphere in the restaurant makes it worth it. Ian

Regular customer - like the food tho a tad pricey. Bright & buzzy. The bar is a source of routine annoyance however - for me and other customers I see having the same problem. It’s a bar and there is a by-the-glass wine chiller to use too. However you cannot take a seat at the bar without permission because they are being reserved for people who want to eat. The restaurant is practically empty but bookings being taken to eat at the bar. Raising this with staff got a haughty response. Every risk of Fuego getting too big for its boots.

My two friends and I had lunch at Fuego inside Fenwick last Thursday. We were seated on the high stools at the bar. It was only noon so quiet. We paid £10 corkage so we could chose a bottle of wine to drink from the wine dept. next to it as this is much better value and a lot more choice. We ordered garlic sour dough which at £7 was reasonably priced. We also ordered a small charcuterie board and a small cheese board both at £9. The charcuterie board was ok but we were very disappointed with the cheese. The portions were tiny. The cheese that was sliced was so thin it was transparent. There was a bit of very hard salty cheese which was difficult to cut. We did mention our disappointment to the server about the cost/portion size and said it was because all of the cheeses were expensive. We suggested they server lower cost cheese and give a bit more cheese! The crab croquettes were tasty but tiny and overpriced at £8.50. Then a 10% service charge is added automatically to the bill which we find annoying. We are still deciding if we would go back to Fuego as we felt a bit ripped off with prices compared to the portion sizes.

Visited many times and always had a super lunch. Continually change the tapas menu and the sharing platters with a bread basket excellent. Good choice of wines. Although in Fenwicks food department it goes not feel as if you are in a store and has a great atmosphere.

This place is a favourite. From the host to the waiting staff, the service is immaculate. The food is always first class and the cocktails are strong!! We are making it an annual date. Went last night and the bill was £130 for three of us, which included six passion fruit cocktails. Well worth a visit but BOOK!

Really chilled place to go and enjoy pizza or tapas style food. I do think certain tapas food items are better than others but overall very good!

Surprised to find this gem in Fenwicks department store Newcastle last weekend. We felt like we were back in selfridges in London. Superb quality tapas and wine and the place had a great vibe. Great place to spend a couple of hours.

Girls shopping trip started here with a glass of prosecco and some vegetarian small plates. Great selection, fabulous and friendly service, a great way to begin an afternoon of shopping.

Place is usually very busy so called in slightly earlier for lunch , so no problem getting a table . Staff have good knowledge of dishes and provided suggestions. Ordered sharing platter , chicken on hummus and meatballs with a selection of breads , flavours were amazing. Lovely place and fantastic food . Would definitely recommend.

Want to feel like you are on holiday then call for a great experience eating authentic pizza or tapas and sipping Prosecco right in the middle of Fenwicks Department Store - our go to place for something special when we are shopped out - in fact I would go as a destination never mind the shopping! Not cheap but very tasty

Visited here for lunch on bank holiday Monday. It was very busy but we only had a short wait before being seated. I have to commend Stef (manageress) on her customer service. We got chatting about how long we have been married- more years than I care to remember- next thing Stef appears with a candle to make our lunch more special. We opted for Pizza and both were excellent and they also have a good selection of wine by the glass. It was though the customer service and attention that made the difference. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

We visited on a Friday afternoon. Restaurant pretty busy but luckily a table was free. Mostly Tapas which, although we hadn't sought out a tapas bar fitted the bill unbelievably well. We chose 6 plates, the ubiquitos patatas bravas, a broad bean hummus, crab balls, meatballs sardines and a lovely broccoli salady dish with Morrocan inspired dressing. Bottle of spanish white wine. No puuding as we were absolutely stuffed.

Well greeted and served, excellent gambas, steak and charred broccoli tapas. Pizzas good but a little wet? Need more oven time? Only let down..they’d run out of lamb chops- basic error especially when there’s a butcher 30 ft away. Overall good experience, house Rosé was cracking.

We enjoyed a scrumptious sharing platter with meat, cheese and veggies. The bread was a perfect accompaniment and we drank much needed coffee! The produce is well prepared but it’s quality is second to none, which means it can be enjoyed in its simplicity with great flavour. We’ll be back! Thank you

We always buy food from here but today's experience was not as good. now they started to put the sauce inside the sandwiches and they have put the wrong chilli sauce for me instead of garlic so really all the 6 sandwiches were ruined. They offered to replace the sandwiches though and took the old ones. I would rather having the sauce aside like before.

Disgusting service from this business… ordered and failed to deliver. The staff showed no remorse or attempted to resolve. Will never use this unprofessional set up again

We had a family meal at cook house yesterday and the service was lovely and friendly, what food we had was nice. But the price was ridiculous for the serving size. An £12 chicken salad was a plate of lettuce with about four shreds of chicken (not even half a breast) and a drizzle of dressing. The small plates are hugely overpriced for the size. £12 for a slice of focaccia and a few mushrooms, £9 for a small slice of bitter cheesecake. While staff were lovely and there’s a nice atmosphere it’s definitely more about being a bit pretentious than value for money!

The waitress who served us went over and beyond to help us as we had never been before, she was so friendly and a credit to you. The food was lovely and nice decor for our pre theatre lunch, I have recommended you to a number of friends.
