Three of us had an excellent lunch here today. A warm welcome with excellent service during our visit. We opted for the very reasonably priced Seniors lunch menu option which we all agreed was extremely good value. Our food for all three course was beautifully presented, generous portions and nothing was too much trouble. The main menu is also very comprehensive and good value. We shall most definitely be returning and can thoroughly recommend The Fruiterers at Rodmersham.

Without a doubt this place has gone down hill . There was only one waitress who was trying to do everything . One of our party ordered a classic burger which came back without any cheese onions or salad . The vegetable were so hard that they could not be eaten . Been here a 3 times now but every time disappointed. It could be such a lovely little place. Needs updating inside! The land lord and lady wasn’t very welcoming and when ask if we could get some water for the dog that seem liked such a chore. The land lady’s language once she’s had a drink is horrendous! Long wait for food and nachos were the worst I’ve ever had. Missing bit from the burger bun. Also didn’t have everything available on the menu. And pimms with no fruit in. Such a shame as it’s lovely and local but just doesn’t have much going for it.

We’ve lived in the area for over twenty years but tonight was the first time we have eaten in the pub for over 15 years and what an improvement!! Yes, it’s pub food, but good pub food! I had fish and chips which was one of the best I’ve had and the others really enjoyed their meals too. It’s lovely to see the pub come alive again with a darts tournament, foreign visitors and a running club finishing off their route with a pint. Clearly things have changed for the best and this little village pub is on the up. Well done Keisha and Chris

We visited The Fruiterers on a Monday lunch time. Finding any pub open on a Monday is difficult so we were pleased to be able to find somewhere. We went through a side door which looked a bit shabby so I was a bit apprehensive but I’m glad we did. The barman gave us a warm welcome and was highly attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. He really made us feel welcome. It was really busy for a Monday lunch time and had a nice atmosphere. The menu was extensive and featured all of the pub classics. We went for ham, egg and chips and a chicken and bacon pie. There was a bit of a wait for food, I got the feeling that whoever was in the kitchen was doing one meal at a time. However it was definitely worth the wait. Hot, tasty and good portions. Proper pub food done really well. The chips were amazing. I’d love to have tried a pudding but was just too full. We will definitely return.

This is a lovely place to walk into and the bar staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. I'd certainly come back for a drink. However, the food was only OK. It was reasonably priced but the menu is very standard. I ended up having chilli con carne which was solid mince - a few beans, very little moisture and so mild I wondered if the chilli had been left out. It came with some nacho chips and melted cheese that had already hardened into a block by the time it got to the table. Nothing wrong with it but nothing right either. A pity because with a few stand-out dishes on the menu, this could be a fab destination pub.

We've tried it again a few times in the past couple of months and what a difference! A warm welcome. An obvious presence behind the bar. Locals helping out. Young Sunday waitresses so efficient and polite. More people eating there. And the food? Now excellently presented and extremely good. Very reasonably priced too. The Sunday lunch gravy (for us, always the ultimate clue to a quality meal!) no longer thin and greasy but giving the other pubs a run for their money. Well done, Fruiterers' Arms! A great effort!

I have been to the Fruiterers Arms a few times now and not once have I been even slightly disappointed. The food is fresh, delicious, and the portion sizes are just right. We turned up at 17.07 and Kat opened up the back door for us so we could order our drinks and sit outside with them. We were served at the bar by Kat whose customer service is wonderful. When we were ready for our food at 18.00, Mitchell served and again his customer service was brilliant. There was enough of a wait for our food that we knew it was freshly being made but the wait still wasn't too long. When it came out, the onion rings were freshly beer battered, the best I have ever had in my life! The king prawn linguine with chilli had the perfect amount of heat to be spicy but still enjoyable and the chicken melt was enjoyed thoroughly by my husband and looked delicious. The whole evening was wonderful value for money and we cannot wait to come back on a Saturday for steak on a hot plate!

A quaint village pub, lovely setting, new decor but needs a better welcome front of house and more importantly, a decent chef. Each Sunday we try out a pub in the local area for lunch - so many have upped their game & serve high-quality food. Sadly, serving 'average' doesn't cut it these days. It's a shame to see the place regularly quiet when others nearby are buzzing. New decor alone won't help - the owners need to venture only a few miles to see what can be achieved by a jolly presence behind the bar and a menu of locally-sourced, well-presented meals. It's a fabulous location, raise the cuisine higher than a Weatherspoons and it's a gem once again.

Booked for a mid week night and despite only a handful of tables being occupied the menu looked very appealing and varied, although several things were not available as the menu is apparently in the process of being changed.

Lovely surroundings and good food, only disappointment was that some items on the menu were not available.

Can not recommend the Fruiterers arm enough after they put on a brilliant BBQ for my husbands birthday. The food and service was outstanding. The garden was great for the number of people and nicely contained for the children to play in

Very unwelcoming pub & the whole place had a overwhelming smell of urine, we could only stay for one drink & had to leave, it was awful

Very disappointed after having a good start it took ages for the main course and when it did arrive it was cold, also food average. The surroundings are great but it's let down on the food also as it was a Sunday you would expect a good desert menu as it's perhaps the one time of the week you spoil yourself but not here. The toilets could do with a refit and some areas need decorating also if all this was improved more people would come.

We popped in on a Friday night and was surprised that there was only 6 people in the restaurant. We were met by Helen who was very welcoming. She explained that they did not have any Scampi. We ordered our drinks and then our food and after a few minutes the drinks arrived but the cider was flat, we were offered a "sample" once they had reviewed the barrel etc, but again this was flat, so we chose an alternative. The starters arrived. Bruschetta was very good. We were then informed that they only had 2 steaks left (we had ordered 3 between the 5 of us). We were offered additional meat with the mix grill to offset the missing steak. Lamb cutlets were very nice. Helen was clearly frustrated but remained professional and in deed saved the day with her attitude and very good customer service. Suggest a review of the stock ordering process as running out of steaks on a Friday, a very quiet one at that, is very disappointing.

We visited the Fruiterers on Sunday for my wife's birthday for food and drinks with 22 friends and family. The day was made extra special by the Landlady and her staff as the food, service and atmosphere given to us was priceless. We would like to thank you all once again and can not wait for our next group birthday party.

Went for Mothers Day lunch. A warm friendly pub/restaurant. The service was excellent. Food was of a very high quality. For the children there was a very good children's menu reasonably priced. The staff were very attentive and went out of their way to be of assistance.

Haven't been here since it's changed hands and been renovated. Service was really poor, took 10 minutes to take our order and then 35 minutes before our meals came out. Main meals were nice. Dessert definitely not so. Staff are friendly but I just don't want to wait forever for my meal, or drinks or paying. Would I go back - maybe but definitely won't be my first choice

We visited the Fruiterers on a Saturday afternoon. It's a lovely pub, well decorated with a wood burning stove- excellent. The lady who served us was lovely, really friendly and helpful. The pub was reasonably busy but there were no delays with food or service. Food was great- our boys loved theirs too and all very reasonably priced. Great chicken goujons and I recommend the loaded potatoe skins! Well worth a visit,

Had family meal with six of us. The service was faultless & food extraordinarily good. Pub food can be exceptional and The Fruiterers Arms excelled! So, all in all, we couldn't have celebrated our birthdays better! Well done to them & can thoroughly recommend!

Sunday roast for 3 this afternoon. Food was absolutely tip top, hot, plentiful, clearly fresh and no microwave involved. A children's menu also. I have to focus on the gravy - absolutely gorgeous!! A proper, traditional and flavoursome Sunday lunch. Cannot recommend the place enough. Smashing food coupled with some of the friendliest and attentive staff. Reasonably priced too. Don't drive past.

Looking forward to a carvery after a remembrance parade. Very disappointed with the food, especially the meat it was so tough I had to spit it out! My son could not eat his gammon and some of the veg was so al-dente it was difficult to cut! The service was OK but we won't be going there again.
