My partner and I went to the cafe on Easter Monday morning and enjoyed a tasty, well cooked breakfast with quality ingredients. All cafe staff gave us a warm and friendly service. I was even offered a kitchen plaster when a cut on my finger opened up. After breakfast we were given some help when choosing a raised bed kit by friendly staff and had a quick chat inside the store with the lovely staff member who was giving the place a good hoover! Overall we were very impressed with all aspects of our visit

Dreadful service , seated outside which we requested . Waited ten minutes to order , one latte one tea and a teacake. We then waited 35 minutes and nothing arrived so we left , the lady on the table next to us did the same. I suggest the staff take a trip to longacres in bagshot to see how it's done! It wasn't even busy , won't be going back.

We often go to Squires in Frensham for a mooch and a spot of lunch as it’s on our doorstep and it’s run by a very friendly and helpful team. Today was no exception, we had a super lunch and our dogs miniature daschund and Labrador’s were beautifully looked after by the team there which was totally wonderful. Thank you to everyone at Squires Frensham today, we had a ball and will be back. Luna, Tiggy, Scrumpy and Apollo loved their time with you.

Very poor service. We visit quite often and today was dreadful. They need new staff. The you g girl who served us eventually was called Lily and she was lovely. Polite and smiley. Older lady was very rude and dismissive when informing us they shut in 15 minutes. Absolutely understand they have a closing time but maybe tell customers when they order. Scone was large, warm and tasty. Breakfast tea was a bit odd tasting. Crockery was dirty.

We chose to eat here specifically because their website states: "Well behaved dogs are welcome in our garden centre, with the exception of our indoor Café Bar area. Dogs are however, welcome in the outdoor seating areas of our Café Bar." First thing, we queue to be seated inside the busy cafe only to find a dog near our table. Not everyone can be near dogs for various reasons, despite their love of animals, but we decided on this occasion to overlook it just this once as it would have been too inconvenient to go elsewhere at that time of day, though it did cause anxiety. We ordered our food only for the complete wrong order to arrive and our drinks had been forgotten. The response we got was that what they'd given us was what was on our order - as if we were to blame for the mistake - yet it wasn't what we asked for and clearly their mistake. So the food was sent back and we had to wait even longer for the replacement, by which time another dog had come in and was barking, which wasn't what we bargained for when seeking a relaxing lunch in a cafe which advertises itself as dog-free inside. Also, whilst waiting for our food we noticed one of the waiting staff stroke a long haired dog with their hygiene gloves on and could see the resulting fur flying in the air! Not hygienic around food nor good for those with pet allergies! We will not be back and would ask the owners to train their staff appropriately and review what their website says regarding its dog policy!

Oh deary me! Beware anyone buying fireworks! I was looking at the fireworks cabinet with my 13 year old son, trying to decide what to buy for this evenings festivities. The absolute jobsworth cashier declared he was not authorised to sell me the fireworks because I had a child older than 10 and he ‘overheard’ me asking my son ‘which ones should we get?’. The overwhelming lack of common sense, sensitivity and over-weaning jobsworth of this individual and his boss was quite staggering. What a poor poor show!

As the President of the Farnham Masonic Ladies Club I arranged for a group of us (20+) to have afternoon tea at the Garden Centre - now Squires Garden Centre at Frensham. We booked and made our choices of sandwiches, scones and teas in advance and met there. We were made to feel very welcome and the tables were reserved and set up beautifully for us to all sit together in the shade. The food and tea was most enjoyable - the staff were very attentive and accommodating to all our requests - nothing seemed too much trouble. Then of course we all went shopping looking for gifts and plants for our gardens. A big thank you to the team at Frensham for making it such a lovely event for us all.

Poor service and food. I asked to place an order at the counter and the lady there rudely said to take a table. I did so which is fine, however it took more than 20 minutes to take an order. Hence why I wanted to do it there.A partial order came, and we were told to reorder because they had run out from taking so long. ( Had they come sooner, that would not have been the case).Again, they forgot what we ordered and needed multiple reminders. We had cakes, which I could see was not going to be overly inspiring with flavour and quality. I was correct. Dry as the Sahara sponge and frosting was cloyingly sweet, stiff and too buttery. Try something else other than buttercream frosting. There is a world of flavours out there more interesting! My sons treat was the shortbread, cream and strawberries. The shortbread was like powder, it lacked flavour and consistency. The cream was as thick as butter. The strawberries were at least good, seeing as it's a fruit...Nuff said.

I spend over £150 here on plants and bits on Saturday. Amongst that was some vegetables which we planted the same day. The next day 5 lots of the vegetables had virtually died, there was no frost although it was cold overnight. I took 3 which hadn’t been planted back and took photos of the ones we had planted. It’s a 15 minute drive to the garden centre. Customer service then said they would, as a good will gesture, allow me to replace the plants I had bought with me, saying the cold had got them and there were signs warning about frost, again there was no frost. I asked about the ones that we had planted and was told these can only be replaced if I drive home, dig up the plants and drive all the way I back. I showed the pictures but to no avail. I then enquired if they would refund my petrol for driving there and back a second time and, not surprisingly was told no. The cost of the plants they would not relocate was about £5 so no skin of their nose. I went and replaced the plants I was permitted to and the manager then also came over but made no offer to replace the plants again despite being shown the pictures of the dead plants. I informed the manager we all have options as to where we shop and that I would, in future exercise this right and never step into that shop again something I intend to honour. Customer service is of paramount importance, I work in that industry, and when ever a company relies on the so called ‘rules’ rather then exercise appropriate judgement for a situation then it reflects incredibly badly on that company. In this day and age we have a choice as to where to spend our hard earned cash and none of us should spend it where the level of customer service falls below the standards we expect. Frensham Garden Centre should consider this.

Tried the lunch menu on a Sunday but avoided the Sunday roast as all that was on offer was chicken. Two of us ordered the soup starter which was large and good, the third diner asked for the mushroom starter but it was off. To our surprise they delivered two of the mains before we had the starters so had to send them back. When we did receive the mains it was clear the two meals delivered early had been unsuccessfully kept warm as the chips were nearly cold - so again had to be sent back. We also had to ask for the heating to be turned up as the conservatory was too cold for comfort. The food was'nt that bad but the service dreadful.

This is a small but well stocked garden centre and until recently had a superb restaurant with a wide variety of food.It was taken over this year by Squires, who run Badshot Lea garden centre and I was worried because their restaurant is awful, we wont eat there now, having had many bad experiences there, we gave it up as a bad lot.Sadly the restaurant menu has now been changed, we went for breakfast and there were only a few options compared to the extensive range previously offered. We decided against a breakfast and had scones, I had a cheese scone which was so dry I couldnt eat it and it certainly had never been near any cheese in its life. It was oddly claggly as well as dry and stuck to the roof of my mouth. Vile.Sadly, we wont be back, this was a first rate restaurant with fantastic food, its now been turned into a clone of the other restaurant which is such a shame.

First appearances are very good in this charming little cafe, with delicious looking cakes on display and lovely wooden beams. The menu looked promising, with a 'choose your own' set of cooked breakfasts as well as a few other options. The first problem, however, was when we tried to order a smoothie and were told that they weren't available until next month. Maybe having them on the menu isn't the best idea in the world.Breakfasts and alternative drinks ordered, we settled down to wait for our breakfasts. Meanwhile, the orange juice was pretty standard and tasted like it was from a cheap carton (not worth the £1.50 price tag). The coffee, however, was of a decent standard. Then we waited some more. It took around 40 minutes for our 3 breakfasts to arrive, with no communication that there would be a wait. The cooked breakfast was nice, but nothing special (except for the delicious sausages made by the local butcher). In fact, the mushrooms tasted like they'd come out of a tin. Portion control was a bit wacky as well, with a lake of baked beans and too many mushrooms. My two companions both had the Eggs Benedict Supreme (or Eggs Royale to give it its more proper name). It tasted excellent, but was swimming in so much Hollandaise Sauce that half of it was still left when everything else was gone. The waiting staff were friendly, the food was nice and the atmosphere was great, but a long waiting time and way too much sauce were decidedly not. Honestly, I think the biggest problem the had on this particular day seemed to be a lack of organisation and leadership.

This is a nice café/restaurant but incredibly expensive. A basic sandwich £7.50 ouch! an English breakfast £10.50 ouch! Beans on toast £5.30 ouch! Hopefully things will change now that Squires have taken over the main Garden Centre.

I like to leave reviews when an experience has been good but unfortunately I found this cafe less than satisfactory and have decided to share my opinionI realise that working with the public can be difficult sometimes but the staff here seem thoroughly fed up and can barely raise a smile let alone any level of conversation; so when we arrived and were told the kitchen was closing in five minutes we assumed the place was closing and rushed to order, when in actual fact (I think it meant...) that the hot food was finishing but not anything else on the menu - maybe the staff are unhappy working there? The food is simply overpriced - I had a tuna baguette (that arrived with the smallest salad ever and no crisps as described) and it cost £8.04, it would have been £7.49 for a sandwich but there is a 55p 'baguette upgrade' added (good grief) and a cappuccino for £3.19 - our lunch for three was £35We wouldn't go back, it was too expensive for not much fun leaving a bad taste in the mouth :(

We are local and have always used the garden centre over the years including the cafe but generally limited to a coffee and cake after a few mediocre lunches. Our last visit we agreed to meet some family there for lunch and while the food was OK the service was dreadful. The food and drinks came fairly quickly but value for money is fairly poor especially compared to pubs in the area which are all fairly good. Whilst we accepted this as the usual garden centre tax on food. Apparently they won't do decaf coffee or tea as part of he tea/coffee and cake deal but didnt point this out until they asked for payment. We all made it a clear we were ordering from that deal but no one thought to say decaf isn't included on the deal and just charged is the extra. When we asked the cafe manager about this she just fobbed us off and we were left pretty disappointed with the overall experience.Staff all clearly need a lot more training and in my opinion the food is overpriced for the quality.Your better off going to a pub or one of the other local coffee shops.

We having been visiting Frensham Garden Centre for many years now and have mainly had a good experience. We normally pop into the restaurant for something to eat as the food served is always of high quality. Today I had my favourite, the Spaghetti Bolognese. There is always a generous portion, with a side of garlic bread, that sometimes its a struggle to finish. I am also a fan of the sandwiches which again, have generous portions. There are also yummy homemade cakes available to eat in or take away. So if your'e feeling a bit full after your meal, you can take dessert home!My only niggle is some of the service can be slightly lacking. There is a sign at the entrance which says "Please wait to be seated" Today we waited for several minutes but just felt ignored. Several waitresses looked our way but there was no acknowledgment that we were there. One waitress even cleared the table next to where we were stood, we said hello but again got no recognition back. Whilst I understand that it may well have been a busy time, a simple " Hello, we'll be with you in a moment" would have been much more welcoming. This is not the first time we have been stood waiting by the door to be acknowledged. However, the two waitresses who served us were very pleasant and attentive. Once we were seated, the food and the service was quick and efficient. And as usual, the food was lovely. The shop itself is always something we enjoy looking round with different products available that you don't normally get in other garden centres. With it being december, we were of course there to look at the "Christmas Wonderland" Having regularly visited over the years, I can say that the christmas display has dramatically improved. There is lots to keep Children entertained and reasonably priced decorations too. There is also the opportunity to see Father Christmas without having to pay. Its a lovely touch in my opinion, as it means all children get the opportunity to see him (and the adults too!) There has clearly been much investment into improving the centre in recent years with the food hall, which is always worth a visit, and the improvement of the outdoor camping area. There is also the recent introduction of a small "The Works" shop which I think is a great addition. The biggest thing, for me, that needs improvement, is the customer toilets. The ladies toilets are in desperate need of a bit of tlc and maybe even expanding if possible. Sometimes there can be a bit of a queue due to there being only two cubicles available. But I understand that this costs. And seeing the improvements already made, I'm sure this will come with time. Overall though, I would highly recommend a visit. And definitely try the Spaghetti Bolognese!!!!!

We decided to pop in for a cup of tea after shopping in the garden centre. We were greeted abruptly and shown to a seat. We arrived at 3.55 the cafe was due to close at 4.30. There was no hot food being served so we settled on two cream teas and a latte. The male staff member slammed down the scones and tea cups and a cold latte we then had the receipt thrust in front of us and announced that 'this was the bill' .We waited for a few minuits for the teapot to be brought over but it never came. We asked for the teapot to be brought to us it was remarked that we already had our tea and the waitress then came over to investigate. Seeing there was no teapot she reluctantly fetched a pot of tea For two.We had only just started our tea and scones and the waitress then came over and demanded we pay the bill because the tills needed cashing up and they close at 4.30.We paid and continued to talk over tea, in the next moment the waitress pulled out a hoover and started setting up to hoover while the restaurant is still occupied and people are eating. She gets called away from the hoover and it then falls to the floor behind a lady in a wheelchair it took her several moments before she picked it up again and cleared the floor.Overall we had very disappointing service with rude and abrupt staff who think it's appropriate to discuss how working in this job role has dramatically affected their social life. The service annoyed my husband to the point where he had to leave with our two year old daughter. We. Spoke to management when we left and was offered a complimentary cream tea which we declined because we would not wish to return to the restaurant.

We have been going to the garden centre and cafe for a numbers and been quite satisfied BUT since the 'powers that be' have decided to re-organise/rationalise, things have become very dis-organised in the shopping areas, with stock not replenished, and constantly moved about whilst becoming more and more expensive. As to the cafe, it used to be a reasonable meal with good portion size and pricing but since it has been extended the service has become extremely slow although the staff are still friendly. Sadly, the prices are increasing and the portion of fish and chips we both had today was more like a child size with cold peas too! A year or two back you were served with a full fillet which covered the entire large plate, even though the plates were never warmed. Whilst we don't condone waste, and costs must be covered, there has to be a happy balance between a satisfactory portion size and a scimped one. Sadly, we have decided to give this cafe a miss for the time being. Standards have definitely gone downhill!

After recommendation from their stall just by the ticket office we decided to try breakfast there this morning. The breakfast order was taken and served promptly by friendly waitresses. The food and drinks were good, thanks. The garden centre is huge and would seem to sell whatever you can imagine a garden centre would sell. Particularly recommend the new butchery which actually is more like a fresh/deli/ farm shop. We bought some nice food (fresh quiche and salad ) for our afternoon meal. I didn't give it 5 stars because the staff didn't know where the toilets were and didn't know the wifi password (because they weren't allowed to use it?!). Also the management seem to be nervous of visitors ("too many people don't pay so we insist on taking money when order placed" - fair enough - but with waitress service?, and signs saying at the garden tables "please don't eat or drink at these tables"). My wife interprets this as not liking festival visitors, but I think that's too cynical. This is a nice place and you could easily have a good visit with no problem. We'll come back in the morning on our way home. Hope the rain's not too bad tonight .

No aquí no! No hay jamón incluido aquí. Sólo muffins, huevos y salsa holandesa bastante promedio.

This is far more than your average garden center. Beyond the usual, they sell clothing, decorations, art, fireworks, wool - and so the list goes on. And the farm shop is incredible with one of the best local butchers.

Pretty standard menu for a restaurant of this type. Service was friendly and efficient. Started to get pretty busy at lunchtime. Very nice range of cakes and scones on display. Sandwiches were good and the big breakfast was large. Plenty of parking outside.

The cafe is extremely better under its new management, fast and good service. Food is excellent.

Brian Hobbs

Great place, and they have the likes of Camping World etc, which is what I mainly travel there for; and they have a great selection of things - however, it is slightly over priced in comparison to other garden centers in different locations.

First visit here for lunch whilst en route to Winkworth Arboretum. Left with very mixed feelings. It's in a nice location with attractive interior decor but... Completely agree with other reviews regarding staff. The girl on the till came to take our order about 3 seconds after we'd sat down; she didn't seem to have a clue how to use the tablet for orders and spent most of her time standing around doing nothing whilst the guy in the kitchen did all the work. As a result we ended up having to wait ages for our food. We ordered quiche + 2 salads and sausage roll + 2 salads. The food was ok but charging £12 for that is outrageous! And to make matters worse, they allow dogs inside and my lunch was ruined by 3 tiny, stinky dogs arriving at the table behind me. In my view, dogs should not be allowed inside where people are eating - it is so unhygienic. Leave them outside! There are better, cheaper cafes around so I suggest you seek them out.

We’ve had brunch here on a number of occasions and find that the service / standard of food you get really does swing between very good and quite poor, depending on just who is staffing the venue that day. Our most recent visit was further proof of this when we arrived through the car park entrance at the back for our pre-booked table. A friend tried to join us from the street entrance and found the front door locked, despite it being 10.30 in the morning. My wife’s ordered eggs florentine which was inedible. The spinach was so wet it turned the muffin into a sponge, leaving the plate waterlogged. Interesting to note that a lot of the prices seem to have recently increased too. A shame.
