French Doner Kebab Grill & Shake in Portsmouth

just had food delivered and had rice with chicken doner, the rice is a microwave pouch and taste disgusting, chicken has no flavour, enough salad to feed a mouse, sauce has no flavour, we used to love the food in here but wont be ordering again, waste of money!

Food was fresh and great. Top owner aswell who gave us excellent service. A must try!!!

The food was lovely the person at the counter helped me and was very patient even tho it was quite busy the food was great and fresh some of the best lamb kebab I have ever had would 100% recommend make sure to go or you will be missing out.

One of the lads who use to work in efes owns this place now. Food is 10/10 and only a 1 minute walk down the food. Will definitely be back!

Lamb doner kebab, best I’ve had for a long time. Generous portion, really. Good chilli and special garlic sauce. So good.

Ordered a mega burger meal and kids nuggets the burger was great just a shame the chips and nuggets were so hard you couldn’t eat them

Ordered a lamb doner, a chicken dinner, flame-grilled chicken burger and a Snickers milkshake. Food arrived quickly (15 minutes from placing the order online) and was pleasantly hot too, with my daughter loving the Snickers milkshake. Would easily recommend.

We had one chicken donor kebab and one lamb donor kebab. Both kebabs where absolutely tasteless and overpriced as well for what we got.

We’ve eaten at this place, periodically, over the last 6 months. Food is fresh, service is great and the best homemade chilli sauce in Portsmouth.

French Doner Kebab has the best and amazing drinks ever that we have ever tried. l will definitely recommend this to everyone in Portsmouth to try it as it is with the best price as well.

Tous les ingrédients sont local. Le concept sauce est génial, y en a pour tous les goûts, champignons, échalotes, au saint Nectaire etc... en passant par du pain, galette, à l'assiette. Il y en a vraiment pour tous les goûts et tous les âges. Nous étions de passage et nous avons été agréablement surpris par ce concept !!🙆‍♀️ jeune patron est très accueillant, très chaleureux. Allez y sans réfléchir !

Kebab good for vegetarian only 15%of meet rest just full of onion and salad 😂just fries was OK I plece the order twice before and was ok but now is meet less so no order any more

When I write a review I always get a mix of the menu on different days around the year to keep it fair and not singled out because of a bad day however i have ordered nearly the whole menu over the last year until present with each time I order I am not disappointed never have needed to call the restaurant, food is always good and comfortable to eat. The milk shakes seem alittle pricey at start until you try one you will not be disappointed. Food always comes in plentiful amounts always leaves me with a smile on my face.

Expensive but good, be careful when you take by delivery, they forgotten the sauce, who eat fries without sauce!!!!!!

we ordered work for night shift 5 os us, i ordered Golden Crumb Scampi: no Scampi inside just mash was bad! and a BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger and on the option it says which sauce so you want on it, the burgar say BBQ lol, 2nd person ordered Pepperoni Cheeseburger Meal, was just pretty much a Cheeseburger with Pepperoni nothing special, 3rd person got Chicken Shish & Chicken Doner Mix and the amount of oil inside the box. all in all i wouldnt recommend this place at all, the picture what you see isnt was you get at all!

I’d give no stars if I could! Microwaved my chicken fillets from frozen so it was just rubber and the chicken tasted like curry, I didn’t want a curry burger, my chips also tasted old and also like curry, so gross, don’t order!

I got 2 kebabs what extremly burned i had to throw to the bin .. i phoned them , i got a number for whats upp , i took a picture from the food and he said in the next day he will send another …i text him next day WITH EXTRA ORDERS ( what is pay ) i was waitting for 4 hour and i got nothing .. not recommend ..

At my 4th order they send me, reheated chips/fries... Definitely not gona order with them anymore. And strongly NOT RECOMMENDED.

I've ordered food here today 24/01/2021 Chicken doner kebab, mixed grill and Fry's ... This food was amazing!!! OMG !!! That is best Kebab I ever had in my life! Totally satisfied, kebab was delicious no grease fat or bad smelling meat like from other kebab shops in Portsmouth. Highly recommended!!! Will get food from here again and again!!!!

We ordered a takeaway of an item we saw on Instagram they geve us fre drinks the food was amazing un like other kebab shops this wasn't that greasy well prices vaue for money extremely quick and not an item wrong on order 10 out of 10 absolutely amazing I will be ordering again!!!!!!!

Order ID: doner wrap with chilli sauce and garlic, chicken wings and chips. The wrap wasn't great, way too soggy and barely any salad, really disappointing as this is supposed to be the speciality. The wings were advertised as fried wings but were not, didn't really rate them. Chips were cold by the time they arrived. The garlic mayo was fire. The order came quickly considering we were a little further away but the price is the problem, way too high for what it is. Plenty of better value kebab shops the other side of fratton bridge.

decided to order from here after a bad experience with another kebab shop - i ordered French chicken doner meat with chips, chilli cheese bites and a shake. Doner meat and chips was banging, garlic and chilli sauce was on point and also a very decent portion size. The chilli cheese bites were also good however they cost £5 which is a bit much for a side dish at a kebab shop, the kinder beuno shake was average and also cost 5.99. in total my meal which was 3 items - Doner meat & chips, Cheese bites and shake came to £19, they really need to bring their prices down as it was nice but nowhere near worth £19, you can go out for a decent meal with a beer for the same price. If the prices were more reflective of the food then i would order again but due to the prices its a no for next time.

Ordered from french doner kebab grill & shake last night. double grilled chicken fillet burger fried wings & chips a kit kat shake. where to start, the burger was disgusting like something you got fed at a state school dinner, the fried wings were ok but chips soggy. shake had to be put in the freezer as it was like water. We were slightly further away from the restaurant so this could contribute I suppose. The price of this food is extortionate compared to other kebab shops so you'd expect something like the pictures they use - not the case. Lucky I was high as satellite so managed to eat most of it, then gave the rest to my dog prudence.

Waited 2 hours for my food to arrive I had previously told the driver not to bother bringing me my food an hour and a half after ordering it as it would be stone cold as the driver couldn't find my address (considering this isn't my first order from this place) really disappointed in the service delivering me stone cold food 👍

Horrible food! Mixed donner came soaked in cooking oil. Pitta was drenched in oil, cold and way too much salad (hardly any meat)! Lamb donner TASTED LIKE CARDBOARD!! If I could give 0 stars I would. Well over priced to just top it all off!!! Please save your money and stay away!!!

I am still waiting for my free order! I have contacted the police in this matter. I have contacted the the mobile phone number and they have yet to reply and they will deny I am entitled to receive free food. This place will need to be closed for good should I not receive my free food... Sort it out ASAP please.

If anyone is looking for a guide to the quality of the food from French doner kebab I'm afraid I won't be able to help as I never actually received my meal. I will start by admitting I'm not blameless in this negative review. I was staying in a hotel and ordered via just eat. I accidentally put the wrong room number on my order. The app said it should have arrived it was then I noticed my error. So I walked over to the reception and ask the man at the desk if my order had been delivered. He said they tried to deliver it but because the room number was wrong no-one answered so he went away. A little bit annoyed at myself and feeling pretty bad for the delivery driver (bigger tip at the ready) I rang the restaurant. I spoke to someone there and after a bit explaining he contacted the driver. After speaking to the driver he then told me the driver rather than return the order to the the restaurant and wait for me to contact, he gave my order to someone random stranger staying at the entrance to the hotel. Before I could express my dissatisfaction with this the man on the phone said contact just eat for a refund and hung up. So as I type this I have been on the phone for close to 45 minutes. Turns out its not that easy to get a refund as they are only meant to give you half. Now I have to ring the restaurant to tell to contact just eat so I can get a full refund. 😡🤬 Update Spoke to French Donner Kebab they were quite rude said I cancelled the order but also told me they delivered to the person that claimed to be from the room I accidentally put on my order. I'm not really sure how that's possible. I won't lie I was a tad frustrated and my that have used my big boy voice with him. I have a feeling they are going to try stiff me out of my refund. I'll update you later

Undercooked chewy chips and the worst kebab I've had the pleasure of buying. Best thrown in the bin and I ended up ordering from elsewhere. Waste of money.

Absolutely terrible over charge me by £5 Med lamb donna £6.99 Med meat and chips £7.99 Small chips £1.99 2 x sauce £1 1 x pitta bread £0.50 Total £16.48p Charged me £22 😂 Now i have to see owner next day to give refund

Called for a delivery, with intention to pay with card as tried to do this through the internet but could not customise salad on my kebab, we asked for the total cost going on my card lady tried to charge me an extra £7 pounds when i questioned her she said it was more expensive on the Just eat menu but i was looking at there own on line menu, instead off her correcting her error she said she would do it for 25 still 4 pounds more then the price on menu, it wasnt a error, this was blatent making it up as you go and trying to rip us glad i checked and glad i canceled order just want honesty. went else were, whatch out if your paying by card check prices on internet first, scammers, fuming!

this was a phenomenal kebab the chips were lovely and warm and not to greasy nor was the kebab my sister had a burger and said it was better than mix burgers on the hill but my kebab was 10/10 cant fault it i deffo reccomend this place also the driver was freindly and polite

Cold chips and garlic mushrooms I was told I was going to have the chips and garlic mushrooms sent out to me the next day but didn’t turn up. I was then told I had to place another order for the replacement food, furthermore the delivery driver had not given me the correct change I was told next time I order it would be deducted but it wasn’t. I won’t be using the shop or it’s services also on that note I will not be recommending this establishment to either friend or family

Very poor service, incorrect order delivered and food stone cold....when they opened We used regularly!! But a few weeks/month or so in, they gave up with service and didn’t give a flying hoot if you complained!! We have them three further chances after the first bad experience. Fourth time!! Decided, was not worth the aggro or expense!

Best kebab I have tried bit nothing like the German kebab. Food isnt to oilly and it has a taste to it and the bread is so much better.will be ordering this kebab for now on

Food was average, chips was soggy and gave me the wrong food. I called to explain and the shop owner told me I was lying and started being aggressive on the phone. I did however get the food I ordered but wasnt that good and very greasy. I wont be going here again, you need to get your staff to get up to speed with there hearing.

Food is absolutely amazing something new and different to what's available in portsmouth portion size are huge there Donner is definitely different very tasty burgers are mind blowing wash it down with some Ferrero Roche milkshake keep it up guys
