Fraser's Fish & Chips in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Lovely chips and a huge portion. Had to wait a while but they can't help being popular. You can order online beforehand.

After driving for half an hour to find a chip shop we came across Frasers. Food was fresh and tasty, service was painless and quick, loved that you go in order, wait for the buzzer then collect from the window, no faff and delicious food all round for 2 adults and 2 children. Very reasonably priced and clean too! 👌🏼

What a brilliant Fish and Chip shop. We were staying at a local Parkdean Holiday park and I wanted to get tea for myself and 3 others, one of whom in Gluten intolerant. After searching online (not easy here, mobile broadband is patchy at best) and driving about a bit we discovered Frazers. The chap behind the counter couldn't have been more helpful. The ordering via touchscreen was brilliant and the food both delicious and reasonably priced. This place was brilliant! If I'm down here again which I hope to be, I shall definitely be coming back.

food was horrendous the chips wasn't even cooked and the "battered" sausage wasn't even half battered with forgetting my curry sauce! presentation was awful and the staff looked and sounded like they did not want to be there!! i would avoid this if you are looking for a crispy chippy this isn't the one !

The chicken fillets are to die for, I could live on them 🤣. Fish lovely with nice crispy batter and the chips are perfect. I had friends collect for me and drive 8 miles to my house and they were still amazing. Thank you 😉

First visit yesterday the lady serving was really lovely and friendly. Food was freshly cooked and tasted delicious, We will definitely be going back.

Really high quality food. Best fish and chips I've had in a while. We had cod, haddock, the cod and chorizo fishcake, chicken fillet and cod bites, as well as obligatory chips. All were excellent. Good portion sizes. Would thoroughly recommend.

Why oh why are the chips always soft, never even close to crispy. Need 10mins in a hot oven at home, otherwise have to accept soggy chips. Such a shame when everything else is nice about the place.

Not sure what's happened to the gluten free batter. It used to be so good, in fact better than regular batter. On my last 2 visits it has been dry, powdery, very hard and like cake inside. Maybe the recipe has changed but it is far from good now - used to be the best ever. Sorry guys, very disappointed. The staff and service are wonderful though.

First visit and impressed. Easy to get to and park outside, then very good choices including a good selection of vegan and vegetarian options. The food was excellent and the service was fast.

What a joke, should think about being in another business. £6 for two small portions of chips that when we got home less than half a mile away were nearly cold and hard. This was at 5.30pm in the afternoon which should have been a busy period. All I can say is that if this is the wonderful standard that they portray then fish and chips will become a thing of the past. Great fish and chips from the Cornish coast? Dont make me laugh!!

Best fish and chips I have tested

Over-priced at over £12 per person and under-whelming. Fish was acceptable but the chips were white, flaccid and under-cooked. Definitely ot worth the effort going there from Porthleven, or the money spent. My advice - avoid.

Had scampi n chips tonight chips were very anaemic tasteless need to put some colour on them, my locol chippy but did not enjoy tonight

We were looking for quick hot food on a stormy night. Fraser's were the answer. Pre-booked online and picked up at suggested time. A short wait once on site (maybe we arrived too early?). Premises were clean, staff friendly and food; steaming hot, generous portions and delicious. Wish I could have ordered a hot drink to acco.pany the meal but otherwise a fantastic choice. Will use again.

Found if you ask for the fish to be done extra crispy it's perfect. And the chips are good to.

The food has always been good, the staff have always been friendly and helpful. It is a takeaway restaurant, so difficult for me to rate on atmosphere but the waiting area is very large so people are able to spread out. The one thing is that the price is quite high compared to some similar places we have visited, but we are aware of the rising costs of production e.g. electricity, food sourcing, the geographic area, etc

Fish and chips were good overall. A few of the chips were burnt looking. Price a little high. Quick service but no chip fork received despite being requested. Pleasant enough and would return if in the area.

Classic cod and chips bought. We shared a large cod and chips - plenty for two. The curry sauce has a lovely kick to it. Very clean and well presented. Extremely polite staff.

We ordered online in a simple to use link to the website. Picked what we wanted, paid, given an order number and a time to arrive. When we arrived the order was assembled and piping hot. The best was best ti come. The meal was quite simply the best fish and chips we have had, the peas and curry sauce were in larger tubs than some Chippy’s and so tasty. Will be back very soon.

The take away fish and chips were great, not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Good ordering system, both on line and touch screen in store. Staff were very friendly Noticed a deep fried mince pie on the menu. Had to try one. Don't think it will make it onto MasterChef but was ok. Definitely a talking point

Lovely time, but food took a while, and it went cold really quickly. Apart from that it was a really good experience, staff were helpful and welcoming

Really good service and good fish and chips

Large Fish ordered wasn't very big which was dissapointing as I think was nearly £12. I ordered 3 sasauges which came as 1 large and 1 small sausage. Main issue was poor value for money.

Fancied fish and chips one evening while on holiday, came across Frasers and wasn’t disappointed the place was extremely busy but had plenty of staff, ordered our food and was given a buzzer indicator to let me know when food was ready, I waited in car in car park and my food was brought out to us when ready, was really good fish and chips reasonably priced, if I had one slight criticism didn’t go overboard with the chips could of been a few more in the portion but the haddock I had was perfect with lovely batter,would recommend

Excellent meal. No greasy chips and tasteless fish here, just perfectly cooked good quality food. Portions are reasonably sized - no huge portions of cheap ingredients to imitate value - but more than enough. Staff are courteous and helpful. Join their loyalty programme for a useful birthday voucher. Who else does that? Thoroughly recommended!

Definitely don’t recommend. Very over priced for what it is. If they spend less money on doing there shop up too look nice and spend more on the quality of food. They said it’s locally caught, to me it’s just a standard over priced fish and chips and won’t be returning. Always been a strong believer if I don’t mind paying if it’s good, but this is bog standard. Go else where

Really well cooked fish n chips. The batter was crispy and light, the cod was white and firm and nicely cooked too. Chips were perfect, we don’t always manage to eat all our chips but these were spot on.

Lovely fish and chip take away good quality good portions and friendly staff, plus a bonus of £10 for your birthday when signed up via the app, couldn’t be better.

Well all I can say is we will not visit again, I would rather drive 8 miles up the road to penzance to get fish and chips. I feel ripped off , the piece of fish that was charged at £6 was not bigger than 3 fish fingers. We live close by but never again will I go there.

Found Fraser’s online as I needed gluten free, they certainly didn’t disappoint the gluten free cod was lovely my husband had the standard cod that was also just as good highly recommended

Internet ordering available, if not essential, as a wait and queue is common. There is no seating or table, so take-out only. Parking awkward and limited. But best F&Chips in the town.

Stood outside for 15 minutes . Then told closed as hadn't ordered online which we didn't know. Would have been nice to ge told earlier.

After trying a few fish and chip shops in the area (from lizard to helston and beyond) - this is the one I keep coming back to. Good quality fish and chips, clean and modern restaurant, friendly and attentive staff, and a recognition of regular customers. Today I was served by Ronan, a new member of staff, and it was excellent service as always.

Had one Large Fish and Chips between two adults....almost too much. Quality of both fish and chips was good. Best to pre-order if possible as it does get busy leading to longish waiting times. Car parking is limited ,but there is usually space at the front and also to the back if the shop

These are the most expensive fish and chips I’ve ever bought globally at £50, however they were very good. The batter was crispy and fish chunky and moist. The chips home cut and cooked to perfection. The pea fritter could have done with a little salt but we’re all the same very good and the curry sauce was to die for! Will need to save up to treat ourselves again one day.

Not great. Had to throw most of the chips in the bin as they were full of black eyes and bruises! The batter on the fish was soggy (what there was of it). For the money it was very disappointing!

Fantastic and friendly service to get fish and chips here. Large cod and battered sausage tasted good , quick reliable and friendly service. Definitely recommend this place to return.

A little pricey and a really limited menu. Parking out the front is chaotic, but plenty of space to the rear (although the drive is a bit of a squeeze for larger cars). Food was good, service was fine. Nice to get a little pager to alert you when your food has been prepared; also nice to know it was fresh.

Consistently great chips and they sell pea fritters too! Obviously change their oil regularly, unlike some others. Best chip shop around.

Best fish and chips I've had. There Fried chicken if I dare say beats KFC. Becky behind the counter is awesome. Very friendly and professional. She certainly makes the visit that much better!!

Ordered online, arrived on time then waited 20 minutes while everyone else was served. No apology. Then get home to find a burger bun without a burger. Totally inept. Avoid!!

Paid for a medium cod and chips and got the equivalent of a battered fish finger , absolute rip off, places like this don't deserve to be in business

Preordered two portions of fish & chips with one being gluten free, which is why we chose Fraser’s. Absolutely delicious and will definitely be returning. I chose a time slot to collect and upon arriving I only had to wait a short time whilst it was boxed up. There’s a small parking area out front, say 5/6 cars but I was able to park. Great.

3rd time I've visited here this year...Good food

Stayed here for a night thought reviews were good so give it a go... Ordered battered sausage and chips.. chips where ok heavily salted which mad my large pretty much inedible, I use the word "battered" loosely batter on the sausage very thin to non existent and the sausage very mushy inside... Massively disappointed won't be using again

Been twice and got my order wrong both times. Burger bun was so hard it was inedible

Poor quality fish - not crispy batter similar to supermarket frozen produce. Chips were pale again not crispy not appetising at all. Jumbo sausage was just normal sized.

Lack of cheese in my double cheeseburger? Otherwise OK.

We ordered on line, fast service, very friendly helpful and polite staff. Easy to use Web site. Fantastic food and amazing portions. Highly recommended

It's delicious, a little overpriced and they continue wiping the counter for ages after your food is ready. They like to waste your time there.

I FINISHED WORK AT TRURO EARLY & THOUGHT FISH & CHIPS FRIDAY NIGHT AS USUAL AT FRASERS HELSTON , I ORDERED LARGE COD & CHIPS & PAID £12.40 AT 4.30 & WHEN I GOT THEM HOME THE FISH WAS SO THIN & BROWN IT WAS UNEATABLE BUT I MADE 2 CHIP BUTTIES INSTEAD, BIT DISAPOINTED AS I LOOKED FORWARD TO THEM AFTER A HARD WEEK. PLEASE CAN I HAVE THE THICK FLAKY COD AS USUAL PLEASE. THANKS

Convenient location. Reasonable price for a Friday Fish and Chips. Staff are friendly and the numbered wireless beepers are very useful. I visit regularly and the place is always clean, welcoming and tasty!

Ordered a delivery for this evening. Food arrived on time, freshly cooked and hot. I had Cod and small chips, my other half had surf & turf. Both were delicious and excellent value 👍

Really tasty fish and chips. We have done the click and collect online ordering a few times, but the system is unclear and its no quicker. Staff are lovely and helpful.
