Frankie & Benny's New York Italian Restaurant & Bar - Chester in Cheshire West and Chester

I’m absolutely disgusted to have visited this restaurant and to be asked upon arrival if I have any allergies, to which I responded yes and explained I cannot eat onion or garlic. I then went on to order the carbonara and asked the waitress to confirm with the chef that there is no onion or garlic in the sauce, to which she said she cannot check. The host who seated us explained she would let the chef know of my allergies so I’m unsure what the difference is. Surely the person who is cooking the food within the kitchen is able to advise what ingredients is in the dish. I was informed this is company policy and they can’t check the packaging, however when I visited the Cheshire oaks restaurant the waiter was incredibly helpful and checked the packaging of the chicken for me to assist. I feel discriminated against for having allergies, that are totally out my control. I was told by the waitress that she is protecting the company’s reputation as you would be liable if she checks… what would make you more liable is if I order something after telling you of my allergies and then I have a reaction. You seriously need to rethink your policy. Every other restaurant I ever visit will adapt their dishes to suit my allergies, as should all food establishments. I was told you will only confirm the top 14 allergens… as though people with all other food allergies are irrelevant! I have never been made to feel so discriminated against in my life. Disgusting!

We decided to stop for dinner here after staying in the area and visiting the shops in the retail park. The service was very good and the food arrived quickly after ordering. The food was ok and was average value for money.

Last minute arrival on route to hotel in Runcorn. Service exceptional… the girl that served us was very attentive. However the food wasn’t the best. Greasy - not piping hot. Left a lot. Kids enjoyed theirs

Breakfast served by very friendly waitress amazing hospitality. Background music pleasant food choice fir all tastes catered for. Portion size ample we’re really impressed and would definitely return. Highly recommend

Went for something to eat here because its quick and relaxed eating but was so disappointed A lot of the seats where ripped open The meal was poor they had spread the chips around on the plate to make it look like there was more i ordered a New York chicken which when it came looked like steak with cheese on as the color was black When i cut into it it was a piece of overcooked chicken the cheese was hard and tasted not right It wasent as if they where busy Wont be going there again

I was served by a lovely lady called Edina who was so welcoming, understanding and patient with our group. There was a problem with my starter and she made sure I didn't feel embarrassed or awkward for saying something and corrected it straight away. She genuinely is a credit to Frankie and Benny's and I'd definitely return. The food was lovely too, as were the other staff! Also good discounts!

Absolutely awful experience. Waited nearly an hour for food and when I came was burnt to an absolute crisp - how this black, solid burnt burger left the kitchen and the pass I will never know!!! Then when asked if the food was okay, the waitress was told no, and showed that it was burnt (and uneaten) which had made the fact we had waited near on an hour even worse - she replied a bleak ‘yeah’. That’s it. Completely unsympathetic, unapologetic and an abysmal attitude for front of house to accompany the awful food from back of house. AT LEAST THEY ARE CONSISTENT (ly bad!)

Went for food tonight, Meatball pasta came, no sauce on the plate and slimey disgusting meatballs. Had to send back and was offered a pepperoni pizza instead from a lovely waiter called Romy (I believe thats how you spell it). My pizza arrived and there was a long black hair covered in cheese in my pizza. Not sure if this was done intentionally or.. Had to once again complain to Romy who was polite once again. He then calls over the manager who gives the least sincere apology I have ever heard and offers us a discount. Paid our starters and went across the road for food. The Waiter ROMY was the saving grace of this whole place. Shocking to see the manager giving him grief afterwards. If he has any sense hell find a job where he is offered a bit more respect. Awful food, awful managers but god bless Romy!!

Unenthusiastic & slow waitress service. Burnt starter garlic bread with barely there cheese. Burnt chewy burgers. The meatballs tasted cheap & bland, with barely there mozzarella. Waffles for pud were undercooked. Kids menu dessert portion size is a joke. Food is poorly presented & ingredients used taste cheap. Bill was adjusted and reprinted 5 times: charged for free refills of drinks & evening set menu desserts. No apology from duty manager as she dealt with the billing errors. Poor value for money. Dirty loos. Dusty lampshades. This place has rapidly gone downhill. Try the better managed Pizza Hut or really good McDo on Sealand Road instead.

A lovely evening on Tuesday first time attending frankie and benny's and will go again. A fantastic menu with a good variety. Lovely waitress Leoni served us nothing was too much trouble. Professional and lovely customer service.

Me and my daughter went in to Frankie &benny's today we were shown to a table I ordered cup of tea and a coke ,my tea came minus the tea bag just hot water and milk I finally waved down a server and asked could I have a teabag which she did ,the fris t server was behind the bar area and more interested in talking to her friend at the end of the bar as a few customers went up because it something missing from the order from this server whom was talking to her friend all the time we were there server who served us was called Nicola and seemed to be the only one working covering lots of the restaurant and customers than you Nikki place has definitely changed since my last visit won't be going back service very bad

First time in a Frankie & Benny's and probably the last. Service was good and no problem with the staff they would get 4stars, but I had a tuscan pizza and WOW way too much salt. It left my tongue and mouth raw shortly after leaving the restaurant and I couldn't stop drinking water all afternoon.

Had a great time visiting this restaurant, The breakfasts 🍳 were really well cooked and presented. My evening meals from the Kitchens steak and chips, to the lamb shank, were really good. The service here is always premiere league standard thanks to Sarah, Mel, and Mia. Simply put I cannot recommend highly enough.when in Chester come down and have a great meal in a family atmosphere.

We went and had Mother’s Day dinner at Frankie & Bennys. We hadn’t booked a table but it wasn’t a problem! We were warmly greeted by Cerri-Ann as soon as we walked in and made to feel very welcome. Our order was taken pretty handy and the waitress gave a lot of time to our son who loves a good chat which we appreciated! It’s not often you go places and staff give little ones the time of day!

I am sad to say, this location has drastically gone down hil. My family has been going here for many years but last couple of visits were poor. On Thursday I visited with my Wife & Son after his swimming lesson for a ‘quick’ straight forward meal as a treat for him doing so well. The staff, who were all completely different to my last visits in mid week I had not seen before. We never got to have any food because after 45 minutes of waiting for a starter of garlic bread, our quick or even relaxed had now turned into a later bedtime on a school night for our seven year old. The staff did not advise there was any delay, I had to chase them. I think they didn’t put my order into kitchen. The restaurant was not ‘busy’. They commented when we arrived three tables had arrived at once. Erm, it’s a restaurant? One side of restaurant was not in use anyway. There were maybe ten tables seated. This is not busy. There’s two chefs and about 5 staff. The big problem was they did not care. When I went to complain by which time it wasn’t too risky to stay and wait for our starter or worse how long would our maincourse have taken and so we left. Went to Pizza Hut around the corner. Food arrived in 5 minutes. Eaten in 20 ish total. On way home. The staff were stone faced and incompetent. This is why restaurant chains like this fail. Poor customer service. Would they expect or accept this service themselves? No. Pizza Hut. Brilliant. Much busier. Staff in F&B; terrible. Manager rolled Her eyes Arnell me when I went to complain and tilted her head on one side and I left before she started some patronising speech. Avoid. Go to Pizza Hut. Go to McDonald’s.

We used to nip in for a quick bite to eat at this Frankie & Benny's when we were in Chester and always had a good meal and good service. Haven't been in for about 12 months and I certainly won't be going in again. It's abysmal. Had to wait 20 minutes for our drinks order to be taken and another 10 minutes for the drinks to arrive. It was an hour before the food arrived. The quality of the meal was dreadful, I had a beet burger and hubby had a classic burger both of which were thrown together, the chips and the burgers were inedible, so dry they stuck in your throat. It wasn't even that busy, only half full so no excuses. We certainly won't be going again in fact it's put me off Franky & Benny's totally.

We had a lovely meal here for my 4 year old grandsons birthday. I have never been before but he loves the carbonara so much he asked for us to go. The hostess Jenna was attentive polite and lovely with all the family. The food was enjoyed by all and all arrived piping hot and at the same time. Overall I was quietly impressed and would go again. We were a large group and had not booked but the place wasn’t overly busy so they were able to accommodate us. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. Our food arrived pretty quick and was tasty. Only slight improvement was that the pizza was a little too well done around the edges for my liking but was still nice. Would happily eat here again.

Visited this place on a week day, there was less than 6 tables eating, although others had came and been and their food was still left on table uncleared. We had to return both our meals as they were incorrect and mine was COLD! As this is a open kitchen, the looks on the chefs faces were bitter and unpleasant, which is definitely the wrong attitude for someone serving up cold food. Will certainly NOT be returning to this place, the worst frankies and bennies we’ve been to and none of them have been great to be honest and can finally say we will not be contributing anymore of our hard earned money in supporting such a bad chain of restaurant.

Nice starters. Restaurant practically empty. Then a 40 minute wait for food that was 'at the hatch' at various times during the wait. We watched other diners who came in after us eat, pay and leave. Then by miracle, the £15 burger arrives, practically frozen in the centre and cremated on the outsides. By comparison I have seen better cooked and presented roadkill. Got partway through and felt sick. Left meal. Was given 50% off the bill which unbelievably still came to over £30 for two adults and a child. Not to mention the fact I was already supposed to be getting vectis discount anyway! Frankly I am shocked that they still tried to charge anything at all. Obviously frankie and bennies is another bad name I can add to the list of places not worth returning to.

Just been to chester frankie and bennies with our three kids age 2,6 and 9. We were given a massive booth with loads of space and food was brilliant. What made our meal their so great was our waiter jazzy. Wow he was brilliant. Never wrote a review before but this guy needs a payrise. From the minute we walked in till the minute we left he was just brilliant with the kids. Really friendly and kept checking we were all ok. But more importantly entertained the kids who thought he was brilliant too.

While visiting our son at University of Chester, we took him out here on a weekday night using our Meerkats Meals voucher. The staff were pleasant and it was a good atmosphere too. There were plenty of families and others dining but not too close to each other so we could have a conversation without worrying about someone overhearing.

Visited this establishment with a friend. I ordered a double beefburger with cheese and bacon. You needed a microscope to find the cheese and the burgers were bland.Overpriced tasteless food and overpriced drinks. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Had better meals for far less money in McDonalds.Definitely not going there again.

Worst experience ever in a restaurant. I wrote to complain and received a reply that did not make we want to go back. Terrible service. Terrible food. Wrong drinks brought to the table. Wrong food brought to the table. Cold food. Long waits for food when place was not busy. Just bad. If the restaurant had made an effort with their reply I would have been happy, but no, thus a bad review reflecting the terrible service.

Visité el restaurante recientemente con mi marido y mi bebé. Sufro de la enfermedad celíaca y también tengo SII, así que tengo que seguir una dieta sin gluten, sin embargo, recientemente también he tenido que seguir una dieta baja en FODMAP. We went to frankies for breakfast what a let down ,first off our server was Michael a very tall guy credit to the chain friendly funny and very efficient,but the food was abysmal,we ordered2 fry ups with toast a latte and a pot of tea ,the drinks were fine but the breakfast was awful the eggs were over cooked and rock hard the bacon was burnt very disappointed it is certainly not some were I would visit again the only saving grace was Michael a truly nice guy

Had been to F&B; at Broughton Park and Had a nice meal so we thought would give this one a go as it’s closer to home. We were promptly seated next to a table that was being set for a large party even though I asked for a more private table as I had to breastfeed and the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. We waited quite a bit to order and then get our food that was pretty bland and tasteless. The waiter was trying to be funny and just wouldn’t stop talking to the guests instead of serving them which made the wait time much longer, and quite frankly made me feel uncomfortable as he treated us as he knew us when he didn’t. We were not asked if the food was okay or if we wanted more drinks.

We often call in here for breakfast as it's such good value for money. I chose the vegetarian option, my family chose the regular breakfast. The portions were good and the coffee is always nice. The regular staff are always friendly and welcoming and quite attentive. If you go for an evening meal it can be quite loud when busy and you should expect a wait for your food. Not a complaint, just an observation that when they are busy, you can wait up to 30-40 mins sometimes so if you have kids, they're going to get bored fast. They have a 'Pay at the Table' App which is really great if you don't want to hang around. You just scan your table number and pay via your phone. The food has always been consistently good for us, we like the New York style diner interior, the booths are nice to sit in, very comfortable and the themed music all makes for a great atmosphere.

The staff in this place are the best I've ever experienced. Frankie & Benny's always offer great service but the staff in this particular one are way above the rest. They were all attentive, friendly and chatty (whilst working hard), even the staff that weren't serving us. The service overall was exceptional.

Came in on sunday with my wife and was immediately welcomed by a young waitress who complimented my wife's hair and sat us in a nice booth, table 32 i think. she took our drinks order and had them over straight away, and our food with us very quickly too. she was very attentive and recommended some starters for us (the potato skins were lovely!) as well as being generally friendly and chatty. She politely asked if we could write a review as people who are dissatisfied post reviews more often, meaning f&b; is lower ranked than it deserves. Will be coming again

Just had lovely meal. Food was hot and served quickly and efficiently. Mia was extremely helpful as 2 of our party are disabled and made sure we were comfortable. She was lovely and made us the most amazing coffees! The other staff were very pleasant and there was a very nice atmosphere, which contributed to an overall enjoyable experience.

Visited this restaurant a few days ago with some friends and was greeted by a lovely waitress called Emily, she interacted with us brilliantly and was approachable, had a laugh and joke and was very professional throughout our time in the restaurant. The food was brought out to us in a reasonable time and was great. There was a nice atmosphere in the restaurant, I will definitely visit this restaurant again 10/10 for service and food.

Came frankies & benny's on the 19th Aug with my bisexual friend sion. We got Kieran the waiter he was such a lovely guy he made our trip worth the while, the food was also amazing. Came for dinner here with my friend and daughter. The food was excellent, my daughter was playing up so was a bit stressfull. But this stress was took away by a good looking young waiter called Kieran. He was so friendly and chatty it made the meal, he even told my friend he was big when he clearly isnt.

I’d never usually bother writing a review for a big chain restaurant such as Frankie and Benny’s but I felt the need to give one of the fantastic waiters there a big mention. I came in with my husband and two children today as it was my sons birthday. The restaurant was quiet and there didn’t appear to be many staff, initially we were served by a young lady but she seemed to go on her break so a man called Michael took over. What a guy! He was singing, making the children laugh and just all round making our time there enjoyable, nothing seemed to be too much trouble and my cheeks hurt from laughing! My husband and I commented that there aren’t many people around like Michael anymore, he genuinely seems to enjoy his job and if not then he’s a fantastic actor! Give this lovely man a pay rise, he’s the type of person that keeps people coming back! Thank you to Michael for making my sons birthday really special.

Had a lovely meal with the family. Big Michael was fantastic serving us and had excellent humour. His personality was exactly what we hope for! 10/10
