Frankie & Benny's in Cheshire West and Chester

I had such fond memories of this place but I am sad to say that I won’t be going back. It has completely lost its vibe and atmosphere. The decor, music and lighting used to be spot on and gave the vibe of Italian New York. Now the clinical white lights, stripped decor and ultramodern music has left this place feeling more like a canteen. It just doesn’t seem to know what it is anymore. The place is grubby, with broken seats in the booths and dirty floors. The food was overpriced, basic with cheap ingredients. The chicken tasted like the cheapest frozen chicken. The chicken stack had squeezy cheese with what appeared to be over processed bacon of some form. I question what percentage of pork it actually contained as it had the texture of a soft plastic. The fries were fine. The food took 45 mins to arrive. The staff were pleasant but I could feel they didn’t have the love for the place. I understand that though as the place looks like there is no investment from the top. I got the vibe that there is no effort in this place as there is an expectation of a constant stream of cash coming in from the shoppers. I don’t think there is any care if people return. My advice is don’t bother with this place. A real shame for what once was a good place.

Service was amazing, my partner has an allergy and the host Ryan walked us through everything. Food was great and our waitress was attentive, definitely will be returning

went out on Saturday with family, it was so busy, but we still had the best time, the waiter was so funny, the food was great, i had a pizza which was cooked to perfection, would defiantly return we all loved it

Came for dinner as a family of 6, great service from a lovely gentleman, didn’t get his name but he was very tall! Excellent food - the sundaes were a huge hit!

Came here last night to celebrate my 24th birthday as haven’t been in a while and was a nice fit for everyone, so arrived with my family for a table of 9 people we were greeted with smiling faces and friendly manners, sat down ordered food and had a great night last night food was great but the service me and my family got from Mike was outstanding, with me and my brother being from and working in Michelin star/rosette restaurants I’ve never had such a friendly/hilarious and all in all amazing server anywhere before I came to Frankie’s last night I thoroughly enjoyed dining with yourselves and my family all loved the food but Mike keep doing what you’re doing, you’re the reason why people leave the restaurants happy and laughing once they’ve finished up and payed their bill. I do hope you get something in return for the incredible service you gave us last night 😌👌

Tonight my family a group of 9 arrived the restaurant this evening for a birthday meal and were greeted with open arms and smiling faces, the main stand out of the night came from a server call Mike, and as 2 member of the group are from Michelin star back grounds we have got to say that Mike the server gave some of the best service to the group that I have seen in a long time I.e. having a laugh, making us feel welcome, and had the most amazing sence of humour, Ofcourse the food was good and tasty, but nothing compared to the service , to Mike if he reads this, thank you and keep doing what your doing.

Really enjoy our weekly visits. Becky our server is absolutely brilliant and even remembers what my whole family have to eat and drink. Becky checks regularly to check we are all ok and that we don't need anything. We do miss the Meerkat deals. Fantastic...

First time at Frankie & Bennys and was terrible. Ordered Bruschetta and it wasnt bruschetta, it was a piece of toasted bread (no oven or olive oil), and had tomato and onion. No garlic or basil/parsley, but had some horrible minty tasting pesto on the side which flavour clashed. For main got bland ribs with Bbq sauce, cold french fries and a rubbish, mostly mayo, coleslaw (no complaints about the corn on the cob, they got that right). The Mrs got a ceasar salad which looked stinking. Service was seriously slow so went to pay at the register, which was next to the kitchen and the kitchen was filthy. This was military grade food at restaurant prices. Wouldnt go back.

Went her last Monday ordered cheeseburgers and chips and that is what I got served on COLD red check plates 1 cheeseburger with the smallest amount of lettuce I have ever seen and chips that where stone COLD presentation dreadful don't know how this place stays open

Food was really good. I enjoyed it thoroughly, and the server was quite efficient. The ambiance was ok. I think it was someone's birthday. As the generic Stevie Wonder birthday song was played, I looked around and could not see any happy smiling faces anywhere. Just a sea of heads rotating about on their necks.There are a couple of issues though...1. The majority of the food on the menus are either vegetarian and/or vegan. I understand that people have dietary requirements. SO DO I.Today's mainstream restaurants seem to be falling victim to keeping the non meat/dairy consumer minority happy. (I wish left-handers like myself were given the same generosity).I have no issues with gluten free foods either. As of the above, there needs to be a selection where people like myself, can choose something off the menu that hasn't been stripped of nutrients that MY body requires!2. The price of the drinks - I had one bottle of Corona. It was to be the ONLY drink I would have whilst there. At £4.99 each, that's a markup of around 400%. My fiance had a large fanta, which was £3.80. I think you get the picture now. So in conclusion...special occasions only for me. No more than once year, to give my self chance to save up for the drinks, and to ensure my body is topped up with essential nutrients prior visiting one of Frankie's and Benny's chain of restaurants.

Went yesterday dinner time for lunch Waited 10mins for someone to seat us the restaurant wasn’t half full, we ordered off the lunch time special menu our starters came which were fine, waited 30 minutes for our mains which we could see waiting on the hot plate for a good 10 minutes my wrap was cold the chips were limp and cold Trying to attract the waitress attention was a joke While we were there at least 6 people gave up waiting to be seated and just walked outVery disappointing seemed very short staffed and the staff that were there were very miserable

The food was great and so was the service. Becky, who served our table was wonderful especially since there were 13 of us. At the end did the night she brought out a birthday cake as well as offering to take a photo of the whole family. I had an amazing birthday there and would definitely recommend.

My son and 7 friends went out to Frankie and Benny's for a meal before the cinema. It was the first time they'd gone out as a group and were using the 'Date Night' offer code. Michael the waiter took the time, on what was a busy night, to talk to them about menu choices to ensure they ordered according to the offer. He had the perfect approach towards young teenagers and they had a super evening. Would recommend to all parents when organising a meal for their teenager and their friends. Great value for money too! Thank you.

Being a regular visit when we go to the cinema imagine myu disappointment on this occasion.We've never had a bad meal or service at this particular branch but we have now.Granted it was getting busy but there were plenty of tables still available.Ordered quickly then seemed to wait longer than usual for our meals to arrive.When they did my wife's was fine but I was to discover that though my fries were piping hot the accompanying burger was cold. The bun, pickle, everything. Didn't even get a bite as it didn't feel right when I picked it upUnable to attract attention of staff decided to just have the fries before they to went cold.Will try somewhere else in future

Overpriced for what you get even with a 2 for 1 meal. Food was pretty decent but a family of 3 still cost over 40 pound for 3 drinks and 3 meals even with a 2 for 1. The Budweiser was absolutely horrible like the pipes had never been cleaned. Joseph was good as was the chicken parmasano

A busy early evening midweek visit. There was definitely not enough staff on as they were running around from table to table trying to cope. We were seated right away but slow to take the order, ordered the meals and drinks, drinks slow to arrive.. Now to the most important bit, the food. Well as my review title says..below average but better than poor. The burger was ok but there must have been a potato famine recently that I was unaware of because that’s the least amount of fries i’ve seen on a plate EVER, anywhere in the world, absolutely pathetic. The pasta meal was somewhat bland and only half was eaten and she did well eating that much. Not once during the starters and meals did anyone come over to ask if we needed anymore drinksAt the time of writing..Trip advisor reviews for this restaurant are 358 average to terrible reviews out of a total of 719. Management take note and ask yourself WHY?If you are understaffed close off some of the table areas, don’t let as many people in. It maybe good for profit having as many customers as you can but not for the dining experience and your reviews might improve. With so many average to terrible reviews customers will not return. definitely not worth the money. On another note. Why do some parents of young children allow their young kids to shout and whine through the whole evening. Do they not understand that it’s a RESTAURANT and not play school. On another table a baby was screaming the whole time, screaming when we got their screaming when we left. I could see one of the chefs in the kitchen unhappy about it and was doing screaming impressions of the baby. I know a baby can’t help it but parents come on! have some respect for other customers and get a baby sitter. don’t subject everyone for an hourIf any parents out there think i’m over the top.....a baby’s scream is 120 decibels, the same as siren or a rock concert (threshold of pain)

Service was very slow and there wasn't much about it, waited agers for drinks, waitress wasn't around to ask for sauces or extra drinks. Food was okay but pizza was very doughy, paying the bill took about 20 minuets as no one was around, glad we had 241 as wouldn't have paid what we did without. Won't be returning anytime soon

We ate here last night and were told about the new menu, waitress recommended the pork chop and we weren't disappointed! Amazing addition to the menu we will be back for more.

Ive been meaning to write a review for the last few weeks following my trip to Frankies for breakfast last month. I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Liz who did an amazing job at serving us. Ive been served by Liz as a few times now and she is so polite, friendly and welcoming. Her knowledge of the menu is excellent and nothing is never too much for her. she was very accommodating and we were never waiting around wondering where she is. I look forward to returning back to the restaurant again soon for some more tasty food. Thanks again Liz!

Service was very slow, was constantly looking at the waitress trying to get her attention but seemed she was avoiding us, however she did seem to be the only member of staff available and the restaurant was quite busy. Cocktails took ages to arrive and when they finally did they tasted like the juice had gone off but they did kindly replace them, however the second lot tasted the same, we did not drink them. Also we waited 40 mins for food to then be told the ticket had been lost and would be another 10 mins. Decided to leave without eating.

Another lovely visit great food, nice and hot and excellent service again from Daniel. We pre-booked as it gets very busy. We were fed and watered within a hour and just left to relax. They do a take out menu and deliver. Excellent visit again we will see you again in November

There were three of us in the party I very rarely have a cooked breakfast so this was a treat, I had an ordinary breakfast (no toast) the other two had a vegetarian breakfast (with toast) The third had pancakes and a sausage! We also had tea and fresh orange. The service was very good and friendly, The food was adequate nothing outstanding but in fairness met our needs. We tried to use our Blue light card for a discount but we were told the manager does not allow its use for breakfasts.( We have used it for breakfast before at other outlets) Can't work this out!

We opted for the family feast. It is great value. The food was reasonable and there was plenty of it. The service was OK. Very friendly and the food was served quickly.

Saturday evening at Cheshire Oaks. Didn't fancy most the Italian / Mexican etc places, fwife said "There's Franky an Benny's," Ordered a pizza and a chicken burger and decided to sit ouside beacause it was a warm evening. Mistake. The location is awful.

Really disappointed with our meal here. We normally enjoy Frankie & Benny's but this was very noisy, everywhere looked and felt in need of a deep clean and the food was average with poor customer service

Service very slow to busy standing around talking. Ordered the breakfast. The sausages were burned liked fried & hard both ends. The eggs were undercooked but burnt some how. The beans portion was about a table spoon. The bacon was rock hard and could of broke my teeth.

Due to its great location right next to Travelodge hotel we eat here for both mornings of our stay at Cheshire Oaks Outlets. First morning they didn’t have hot drinks that wasn’t an issue my wife had kids breakfast (cereal fruit skewer and drink with side of toast. I had Breakfast Stacker was great. Great service and a great price so returned again next morning.

Absolutely couldn’t fault the service we received tonight. Our server Daniel was an absolute superstar dealing with all 65 of us. The food was gorgeous, the organisation was outstanding. The manger was also fabulous with us. Lots of happy parent and children. Thank you. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent.

Service was very slow . Food was ok but some of our dishes arrived cold . I wouldn’t recommend it . We were very disappointed with the service which was why the food wasn’t as hot as it could have been . We paid a lot of money and nobody really enjoyed their meals .

We visited early evening for a drink before heading off to the cinema we were served by Alice who was fantastic very friendly and chatty. We asked about closing times for meals and she said it would be fine if we got there for 10.30pm after the film finished.

We came to F&B; for tea on the way back up to Preston from Wrexham. The restaurant was really busy we were seated almost immediately. Our order was taken quite quickly by Amy. Who had been tending to everyone else also smiling away and being professional to everyone. Food was amazing. Really couldn't fault anything. Amy was really friendly and approachable and acted in a timely manner to our needs. Overall great place to eat.

I've had a few bad experiences with frankie and bennys in times gone by which was why I didn't want to visit this one but the Mrs did.

I was so happy with the service today! Liam the bartender was absolutely fabulous our drinks were perfect!! And he had a lovely smile and made me and my family feel very welcome. Our waiter Amy had a perfect attitude for her work, our food was amazing and was on time. Amy gave us everything we needed asoon as we asked for it. I would advise anyone looking for a family friendly place to eat to come here!! Thank you so much Liam and Amy x

The whole experience was one to remember the waiter made the evening for us he was efficient and highly amusing without going over the top meal was enjoyable the only down side was the toilets nice and clean but not very accessible for the member of our party who is a wheelchair user

Decided to go for walk to our local F & B’s with my daughter as her dad was out and wanted to treat her. Had lovely meal and the lemon & cucumber mocktail was delicious! Good gluten free choice and their gf sticky toffee pudding was to die for, even the fussy daughter tried it and thought it was lovely!

My husband and I were seeing a late night movie and they were closing in 15mins and we weren't going to be those people that go into a restaurant at closing and order food so we were gonna see about take out instead so they could close. The waitress Amy was so kind and told us to come in and sit. She sat and spoke with us for a min and really made us feel like we weren't a bother at all. She got us anything we needed and made our experience a pleasant one. Thank you Amy for serving the late night Americans.

Great food but feel like the a bartender be Moore helpful from the waiters , can’t remember the name of this guy , small blonde guy with a nose piercing look like 16 years old lad . I would like say a thank you for all your help !!

Came in yesterday for dinner and the restaurant was packed. Nether the less we got seated straight away and didn’t have to wait long at all for our food - food was delicious and service was excellent.

Went in at 10 clean tidy and no wait to be seated food as expected. The lady who served us was Amy she was polite friendly and appeared to be on her own. Amy coped brilliantly. Last minute decision for food before the cinema. Not great to be honest, it felt like Mac Donald’s with plates. No care taken with presentation. Staff nice though.

Partner and I went to Frankie and Bennys today. From the moment we arrived our waitress Becky was very welcoming, friendly and bubbly and continued to be throughout our visit. She gave great recommendations from the menu especially the toblerone cheesecake which was delicious. Throughout Becky kept checking to see if we were satisfied with our food, service and was always on hand when needed a refill with our drinks. Very enjoyable experience thanks to Becky, looking forward to our next visit already.

We visited here as a family of 6 on a busy Saturday evening with 4 children aged 7-12. Despite them being quite full we were seated almost immediately.

We as a family of eight visited for lunch on Thursday afternoon, from the minute we walked in we where made to feel so welcome,we hadn't booked but nothing was to much trouble.

The title of this review sums it up. I was recommended the new pasta dish by staff as it was supposed to be delicious but when it came out it looked like it had sat under the lights for some time. It was completely tasteless, I considered sending it back but I just thought eat some and leave as I didn’t want to wait any longer or spend more money.

I've been to a few Frankie and Bennys over the years but not really ever had a problem until the last 2 times (one was a Manchester branch that wasn't actually anything other than I noticed they have changed what used to be authentic calamari, to a generic breaded tasteless cheap rubberesque brand)

We had a overnight stay to celebrate a special birthday for my daughter. She chose this restaurant as back home it’s a favourite for our birthdays celebrations.

It was ok it’s frankie and bennys you get same food same quality at any one of its chain. My mum and dad have never been so they had a lovely time. Nice venue great location but you get what you get in a frankie and bennys.

Usual Frankie and Benny’s, service good in a reasonable timeframe. Lovely pizza, best we have had for a while. Reasonable prices.

Impromptu stop on the way home from an early business meeting. We were greeted on arrival by a very cheery lady (Becky) who quickly brought our drinks order. Service was speedy and very pleasant. We ordered full breakfast and an omelette which were excellent, nicest we’ve had in a Frankie & Benny’s for a good while (thanks chef Addy).

The service very slow 1hr after placing our order the food arrived the food was cold ordered Drinks 30minutes wait, ordered sweet another 30minutes and the restaurant was not even busy only another 3 tables occupied

Excellent service from the minute we entered the restaurant .Staff cleared a table for us because we said that we’d like the round table in the corner. Menu consisted of something to please everyone in our group. Mike was our waiter and became our friend before the end of the evening. There was nothing too much trouble for him. He even lowered the sound of the music that blared from the loudspeaker above our table to suit our grandfather. The waffles had run out because it was bank holiday monday.That’s the only reason we give 4 stars and not 5. Enjoyable evening.

Aside from the fact that when my partner ordered drinks, starter and dessert they had sold out, the food was brilliant.

Was very busy but we did get a table. The food was average, but thought expensive for what you get. The staff were very busy rushing round but were pleasant. I had pasta with chicken and there was far too much pasta. I asked for a box to take home to have for lunch next day which they did. Have low expectations but overpriced.

Me and my friend went out for a bite to eat and decided to go frankie and bennys. I wish we went somewhere else we both had pizzias which were disgusting. We decided to have deserts to rid of the horrible taste. The deserts were appalling my friends ice cream tasted off and my waffle was burned and tasted vile. Will not be going back there again!

Stopped for lunch with friends, Saturday full price menus no deals. Ordered food came quite quick, Friends calzone not only looked anaemic and undercooked but didn’t even have much filling, as if being cooked for the midweek lunch deals.

I had a king prawn risotto and my mum the steak with fries which were around £14. It was nice enough , very loud. More ideal for people with families but was not a bad lunch.
