Quiet but a nice night. The bar staff and door staff were very welcoming

Saturday night, mostly empty, drinks are expensive.

First time I have been in a long time. It wasn't what I expected. I preferred the old rock type bar. The toilets were disgusting and it just wasn't a nice atmosphere.

Owner is a lovely friendly Man . Great Music is and they also have a decent pool table . Great for young ones and couples to go at weekends

For the younger generation ...bit quiet too

We were in early and the place was pretty quiet. It will get busy later in the evening.

Strange place, they charge for a single cue to use the pool table which is ripped up and worn anyway. The pinball machine was very dusty and flippers stuck sometimes. Staff do not seem happy to work here. So not really sure how you can give a positive review considering.

Dislocated my knee in there ( no fault of the place just stood up and it went) and they were so so helpful, the owner is lovely and the bouncers were extremely nice. If it wasn’t for them I was gonna have to sit in pain waiting for an ambulance for 3 hours. Safe place to go

No draught, only bottles and the glasses were filthy.

Service was great. The good looking well Presented young gentleman was friendly and engaged us in conversation while there. Outside area is covered and clean, and seating is comfortable. Inside lots to do with pool and games to play. Plenty of choice on drinks at good prices too. Will be back 100%

Called in on our pub roam about and discovered a great local band playing live, they certainly have a following as the place was very busy with energetic younger (than us) people who were having a ball 😀

Lovely place with great priced drinks with a brilliant atmosphere. There is a slight step but is accessible, also a accessible toilet. But there is no bins in the toilets. Other than that brilliant place

Brilliant music good dance music on a Wednesday night and excellent night and fantastic djs specially Paul Tasker manger of Mighty Fm radio station Southport have a lot of respect for Paul keep up the good work Paul for your late dad Pj Tasker a Legend on the djs around Southport and my best friend Robbie G 17 years at Maloneys bar,and the best years I had in the Scarisbrick Hotel over the many years! I have to start with the young girl behind the bar (17/1) I come expecting a sh%t Tuesday night misery and she was full of happiness and joy she even had a little dance at one point while at the same time making sure all the punters had a drink. A pure treasure. Dj very friendly I did two songs and very professional throughout. I just had a wonderful experience I did not see happening on a crap Tuesday night. A new customer was born!

We had a good night here we come on holiday and get let in no problems while drunk and the next night the same but then we tried to go somewhere else and got told we were to drunk I had 2 full pints taken by barstaff and was made to feel uncomfortable the first night because of the bouncer stairing at my girlfriend but the same bouncer refused us £500 a night we have spent and I won't be spending another penny anywhere he is working were on holiday which we told him but we're too drunk to get in to the last place it's a joke

too sparsely set out, virtually nowhere to sit down, looks like a dark dingy night club! used to be a great pub for live bands but there doesn't seem to be a stage anymore? just a dance pole and large coloured under light dance floor.Mens toilets where poor,(no toilet seats).staff where nice though so not all bad.

We visited the Fox and Goose last weekend, was such a lovely place to be. The staff would go out of there way to help you and make the visit special. They had a party dj on playing all the classics, the Dancefloor was full of people doing all the favourite dances. We went upstairs and it was full of different games, including pool and table tennis and much more which kept everyone happy!! There’s so much to do. We are going to visit in the day to enjoy the lovely beer garden which is like a sun trap! Love this place!! ❤️❤️❤️

It was ok except we were constantly followed by bouncers and security, on the quietest Tuesday night ever. We were all well behaved, for a night out!😮 but they made us feel like they were in our group with us. They weren’t invited and made it very self conscious. Couldn’t enjoy the night properly cos of these spare wheels 🤷and before you ask, no we weren’t a group of lads! Far from it🤷

Fox and Goose now permanently closed. This has now reopened under new management but have not been there.

It appears that the pub has been refurbished in the style of a 90's nightclub. We walked in at approximately 3in the afternoon looking for a quiet pint. The piped music was 90's rock, but we could speak to each other. After sitting down, a small gentleman, who appeared to be the manager or the owner, went into the dj booth and switched the music to something akin to 90'rave and turned it up so much we could hardly here one another speak. Two minutes later he's back, cue even louder music, making it impossible to hear each other. Perhaps he didn't like the fact that I have long hair, although as the bar is covered with stuff about when it was The Steamboat, that would seem perverse. Any way, a quarter down our drinks we left, never to return. If you want to attend a rave at 3pm on a Monday afternoon in Southport, this is the place for you: otherwise avoid like the plague.

Loved it. Was there on Friday 3rd Sept for a friends birthday party. Was ace! Security and bar staff were lovely too.

Best rock night club I have come across in a very long time offering both live music and Rock DJ landlord was very friendly and helpful and the staff all very efficient and friendly can't wait till I am in the area to go again.

The staff and clients are all so very friendly it feels like you are at home but with more friends around you they all make sure you feel welcome and looked after what an awesome place highly recommended​ top of my list you need to go and experience it for yourselves.

Fantastically friendly place that always puts on a decent live band on Saturday nights. The staff are all awesome, and basically if you're even remotely into rock you have to check it out.

Bar staff are awesome. Whole place has great music/atmosphere. Especially when Almost Alone are playing.
