Four Oceans in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

First time ordering from the new owners having used Tse house a few years ago. Ordered a simple meal before an early working day. Took more than a while to arrive, and it was soup in a bag. Pancake rolls were sweaty and broken to a point it was beansprouts in a bag, the chips were swimming in grease from inside the delivery bag, and I was missing prawn crackers. It was not even very warm at this point. I phoned right away to complain, and given I had paid cash, they would refund the whole meal minus the delivery but the driver would be a while before he could return. The delivery time was to blame for this as everything steamed itself to death.. I'm sorry to the young lady on the phone, as it is clearly not her fault, however the customer service from the manager is disgusting. I will not ever be using you again.

I had a delivery back in July and it was lovely, tasty and hot...delivery was very good and the driver very polite and friendly...no complaints from me...10/10

Sadly seems to have gone very downhill from 4 oceans. Not sure why? Too busy maybe? Especially at weekends. 1hr 40min wait and was overcharged. So sad considering there aren't many options in Camborne for Chinese delivery. I think the food is ok to be fair, but the service is sadly disappointing. Edit. Gave the benefit of the doubt once more after being told 1hr wait. Now 1hr 28mins and still not here...sorry unacceptable. And it will come cold.wouldnt accept this in a restaurant paying £35. By the way long standing customer. Re edited. 1hr40mins, I told the driver I would not accept the order. Yes I will be banned I'm sure , but c'mon, this is no way to treat people. Not the drivers fault at all, which I told him. If you can't fulfil orders....be honest.

New to the area so thought we would try this out as fairly good ratings on Google. Horrendous, tasteless. The pork chow mein was covered in pepper, made it completely inedible. I even tried to drown the taste of pepper out with some sweet and sour sauce, still vile. Prawn crackers didn’t taste like they had any seasoning, just like biting cardboard! Tried covering that in sauce, again couldn’t eat it. Salt and pepper chips, again no taste or seasoning and considering we expected that to be peppery, couldn’t even taste any! The mini rolls were cold and dull. Both myself and partner couldn’t even finish any dish, was gross. Really wouldn’t ever recommend a place like this, if you can’t cook or serve decent food, don’t open a takeaway! Will never return and both feel ripped off and hungry 😞

Absolute joke waited a hour for food forgot items waited another hour now freezing when arrived and couldn’t do anything for apart from get us to plate it back up

This used to be my favourite takeaway. However, I feel shrinkflation has taken a hold. Ordered crispy chilli beef, beef with bamboo shoots and water chestnuts, Singapore chow mein and prawn sesame toast. With delivery, this came to £31 pounds. The two mains were served in the much smaller plastic containers, in which the chilli beef was only half full. The other beef dish had been packed with mainly vegetables and this was also in the much smaller container. This dish was also very bland as it looks like there was no msg to add flavour. Been using this takeaway for over 8 years. Won't be using again.

I can honestly say tonight's food was absolutely delicious, compliments to the chef, the best we've had in ages .

Chap who took my phone call tonight was very polite and even described what the items were and he gave me different choices to pick from! No one has ever done that to me before very well done! When I turned up he was very polite and welcoming and the little girl counted out my change for me which was good, good front service counts for a start! My food that was ready in the time he said was outstanding, full of flavour and was still hot by the time I got home, I would of done some photos of the food but it was eaten too fast! Totally outstanding! :-) just had another delicious meal from here again!!!!

We've now had several meals delivered from this restaurant, always hot, delicious and in good time, handed over with a smile at the door. Last night's meal for me was the Thai chilli chicken. The sauce was excellent but if I could offer a few words of advice to the chef I would suggest stir-frying the chicken pieces rather than battering and deep frying them before adding the sauce which dried them out somewhat. Otherwise, a very tasty meal.

Beware of this Chinese take away the chicken was off ,we rang them and they offered us another chicken curry(no thanks ) totally not interested in our complaint and just carried on taking orders including the chicken curry that we just told them has chicken that was off then just totally ignored us . Save your hard earned money and go somewhere with fresh food and people who cares what the customer says

The chicken satay was delicious but the chicken chow Mien was really unenjoyable, had a weird flavour and has left a bad after taste.

We ordered Prawn crackers, chicken & pineapple, shrimp chop suey and boiled rice. A most enjoyable meal, cooked perfectly and delivered at a very reasonable cost. Slightly more expensive than the Chinese down the road but the quality of the food was far better. Also there are some 200 items on the menu as opposed to just over 100 down the road. This order will not be our last from here.

Very nice food, but wasn't very hot. I had to microwave the beef with mushrooms. That said, I enjoyed the meal, and would definitely order from them again.

Well priced, good food and are not insistent on charging minimum card purchase unlike other Chinese food takeaway who have an iligal £5 minimum purchase.

The food is usually ready quickly, everything taste great and they serve some things other chinese takeaway don't. Like tofu and seaweed.

Just had a Chinese from four oceans in camborne and found maggots in my rice they will not give me a refund I feel so sick to the stomach please AVOID this Chinese

Very bland food not worth the price.

Ordered the starter meal for two for £8.20 , which consisted of two spare ribs , 2 small prawn toast , 4 small flat tasteless spring rolls , 2 very small flat crispy won tons and a small pot of seaweed and a small pot of barbecue sauce VERY much overpriced and very disappointing ! £3.20 would be a more realistic price and they'd still make a very good profit at that price !

Just ordered from four oceans. It arrived on time but everything was cold. When I called to tell them. The poor girl on the phone had to listen to the barrage of abuse meant for me. When I asked what they were saying, she said umm “she said if you don’t like it don’t come back!!” To which I said tell her I said she’s a rude Bit**. There is a wonderful Chinese just opposite four oceans that I usually go to called Golden Pool (it’s amazing) but they were too busy. Do yourself a favour and go to Golden pool.

The food was drier than a nun’s fanny. Boris Johnson’s bumhole has more flavour than their food. The kids couldn’t even touch their food and they stated that they’d rather eat garden mud. Would not recommend this so called “Chinese” restaurant. Certainly would not be re ordering. Many thanks, from a distraught family Xo

Really nice Chinese Food arrived hot and in a good time with friendly delivery drivers. Food in the photo is mushroom curry it was amazing full of flavour.

shocked when i walked into the shop and heard everyone arguing in the kitchen. Behind the plastic was alot of rubbish like someone moving house, wasn't very clean and the girl serving had a attitude problem and no customer service skills. Filthy place not for me

I ordered shrimp and got small prawns all the dishes were nearly cold plus very bland and very greasy totally unexceptionable tried ringing and was told sorry there’s nothing we can do!! STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE AWFUL PLUS NO APOLOGY AFTER BEING TOLD DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY !!!!!!

Ordered food for 4, and it was a quick and tasty service. However, I have a dairy allergy, and the server didn't know what dairy was, but confirmed 'no dairy' anyway. I have been ill all day from it so if there's anyone who's allergic to dairy don't order here💔

Food was awful. No taste at all so all items tasted the same. Turned up cold. All food was overcooked so not nice. Have used in the past and was a lot better then.

Always had good food from here but the service tonight has been very poor. We ordered at 7.40pm and were told an hour which is to be expected for a Saturday night. However at 9.15pm we called again to check where it was and told a further 20 minutes! Had we initially been told 2 hours we would not have ordered. It’s now almost 10pm and it’s still not arrived. I guess they prioritise walk ins as the money is already guaranteed from deliveries. Highly disappointing and when I complained we weren’t even offered a discount - just told it’s just tonight and not normal - clearly from previous reviews it’s happened before!

Wow! Best chicken chow mein I've had in years. The whole meal was lovely, even my children liked their food (& they can be very fussy!) Would definitely recommend. We will be ordering again soon.

Can't fault it best tasting curry around. Delivery service good. It is by far the best around but unfortunately we had to wait near 2 hours for delivery and when I phoned they said another 20 minutes. Being a regular every week would of expected better. Will never go back after 6 years of custom. People skill 😔😔😔😔😔

Placed an order at 6.15pm on New Year eve and was told that the order would be ready at 7.15. Great so arrived at 7.15 and was told it would be ready in 5 mins. At 8 pm still waiting and got the food just after 8.10. The food was not that great either tasted much better. Customer service is awful.

Ordered food from here for family when it came it was disgusting beef was like rubber chicken could of broke teeth it was that hard and the soup had more salt than the sea took food back and got refund then was told never to order from there again which suits me fine as I never will I would say the worst Chinese I have had in the UK and that is saying something

We ordered for delivery, order was read back all seemed well, order turned up 1 dish the wrong dish chow mien was ordered and a curry turned up also 2 crispy beef weren’t delivered phone call to sort were reluctant to send out what we ordered but eventually said would send out the chow mein and the crispy beef. turned up no beef rude lady on phone refused to send out the beef, said wasn’t ordered when 7 people heard the order given and read back, Delivery driver was great but said other orders were wrong previously. 7 of us won’t be ordering here again and would urge others not to bother if you want wrong orders and rude service this is the place to go otherwise avoid at all costs

I was a bit concerned after reading the on here. So I thought I'd order something simple: chicken skewers with satay sauce and Singapore fried rice. 1st problem. The dude has such a strong accent and talks so fast, that when he recapped my order, I couldn't understand him. So I just said "yes" and hoped for the best. Then I gave my post code - the last bit I spoke clearly and spelled phonetically to avoid confusion, followed by house number and street name.... which the dude repeated back incorrectly. So I gave it again, slowly, he repeated the same incorrect address. He needs to listen instead. We went through this 4 times, then I gave up. Needless to say, the delivery driver phoned as he was driving around the address he was given by the dude, but couldn't find me. So then he had to drive to the opposite end of town to get to me.Food: Chicken skewers in satay sauce. Perfect! Satay sauce nutty and spicy. Singapore fried rice tasted great although the rice was overcooked- maybe due to the extra steaming time thanks to the tour of Camborne before being delivered. However the food was still lovely and hot, not too many onions either. Would I order from them again? Yes.

Was staying overnight locally and needed some late night dinner and this was quite nearby. Ordered a couple of dishes and noodles and it was all ok. Tasty and filling. Nice and fresh and hot. Nit the best Chinese takeaway I have had, but nowhere near the worst. If I was visiting again, I would happily return and get another takeaway. However the restaurant itself looked a bit shabby and unprofessional so I wouldn't choose to dine in.

Absolutely tasteless Chinese - anywhere else I’ve had the dish I had would have been spicy and full of flavour - this was just bland. Wouldn’t go back if I come back for a visit.

Had a take away last night which was ok but had about 6 pieces of chicken in a chicken and cashew nut dish - loads of veg to bulk it up! It was also not very hot - the food had obviously been standing and a cold dish which was sandwiched between two hot dishes was warm! Not a great meal

What can I say me and my partner have tried alot of Chinese this is are favorite by far we will differently be ordering again. The food is full of flavour and great colour and the portion are great . And their bang bang chicken was amazing

Since moving back to Camborne area we were looking for a good value for money takeaway. I reckon we have ordered 50+ meals delivered from this place. ALWAYS delivered in good time.

Tasty food good service reasonable prices

We were stopping in Praze-An-Beeble and wanted a Chinese and this was one of the closest.

This is the first time we have used them. The food was hot and delivered early. The food was cooked well and hot on arrival. There was no grease on the food and my curry had plenty of meat in it. We certainly will be using them again.

went in for a meal menu prices 50% more to eat in, £1.30 for glass of water in dirty glass, beer out of can and warm, rice prices ridiculous some over £7, 2 curry's 1 egg fried rice 2 waters 2 beers and 2 noodles £43, no table cloths odd cutlery just dropped in middle of table, never again, wonder why we were only ones eating when everywhere else were busy.

We've sat down and ate and we've had loads of takeaways from four oceans the food is good and the £££ are good I highly recommend

A very enjoyable take away. Ordered in and picked up all on time and hot and tasty. The house special curry was just right and thoroughly enjoyable. Yes a standard Chinese in many ways but still a change and tasty. Would recommend for a takeaway.

worst food ever arrived cold and to boot a lovely long hair in there too. called and asked to speak with the manager she explained that she wasnt the manager but the waitress and i had to send my complaint to a email. then abruptly put the phone down on me. just would like to add best chinese is in carharrack

Went to get my regular takeaway. One of the owners young children was unsupervised in the waiting area. Quite uncomfortable as she was very nosey and wouldn't leave me alone.

Nice place. Good food and friendly service. I've eaten there and had takeaway several times.

We have been ordering takeaway from here for a while now very good never disappoints. My wife is a vegetarian and they have a better range of vegetarian food than most Chinese takeaways around here

We were really disappointed with our takeaway. Flavour very poor. Food was lukewarm, greasy and felt like it had been cooked for ages. Everything was red coloured unessarily too. Sorry won't be seeing us again.

Delivery of our food was very handy, we all had the house special, very nice and tasty. We have been to the restaurant and been very pleased with the service and food.

Service was reasonably fast but lots of red sauce/colouring. Duck in roast pork n duck fried rice was rather hard. Singapore noodles was OK.

Bistec era equivocadamente hecho, no podía entender la chica, marcado acento chino, el pollo era difícil, probablemente micro ondeaban, las patatas fritas eran como cuero. . Fuimos en el contenedor., nunca más, que eran geniales, no más!

Tried the food from here and was unfortunately not surprised to find it awful. It professes to be different from the others but in reality it is just as poor on most things including service, temperature and taste.
