Emons Kebab House in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

I really try to never write bad reviews and even my google review reflects that it is possibly edible. But I have now found myself even after explaining very clearly “no tomatoes as I have an allergy” to find underneath my meat it is covered in tomatoes and after reviewing a Snapchat video I sent whilst waiting for my food watching the server take all of the salad from the same bowl that contained tomato and actually picking out some which he saw was on my food with his own uncovered fingers, now find myself taking all the medication I have to fight a reaction that could have been avoided and hoping it subsides with minor symptoms. As much as I try to support local business this is beyond even slightly positive. This place needs to be shut down. The gentleman that served me even asked when I tried to pay with a £20 note for £9 worth of food if he could keep it as he didn’t have change. To only come out with change when I refused which I forgave as maybe there was a language barrier. It is clear that was rubbish. Avoid at all cost.

I'm a regular customer..food and service is good enough.. Specially lamb n chicken kebab is best of the town..highly recommended

Should have read the reviews 1st DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! soon as i opened my lid i was greeted by 3 hairs the chips were think in oil definatly been re -cooked. I took it straight off the children nearly all of what i ordered was wrong.Terrible place should have put our £40 in the bin....never again

Donner Kebab was well cooked, but completely tasteless. The Pitta was more of a folded Naan Bread, barely cooked. Reasonable price and polite service, but if the food is rubbish, there's no point going again.

Since having takeaway from here my partner has been in hospital with a serious case of E. coli which they have said is from uncooked chicken and unwashed veg. Avoid this place

Lovely food and even stayed open after close to do food for 2 people, much appreciated 👍

The food was atrocious the pita bread had mold in it and the burger tasted like a microwave burger not even like it was cooked we were waiting over an hour as well.

Absolutely disgusting food, mouldy pittas, chicken so tough it could barely be chewed, but somehow tasted uncooked too which I thought was impressive, Donna meat looked like chicken 😂 tasted like dog, chips soggy and cold, pool of grease in the bottom of the tray, took over an hour to just collect it, honestly just feel violently ill, absolutely horrendous

Absolutely atrocious and that's being nice....food was barely warm when it arrived. Nothing had any flavour to it. Please don't waste your money or time ordering (hour and a half wait for delivery) Our last meal down in Cornwall was definitely one to forget!

The most vile food place I've ever been to. Walked in to the place filled with smoke and the smell of burned-out chip fat, was absolutely filthy, food all over the floor, rude staff member, we walked in and had to walk straight back out. Filthy

Waste of money. Most of it ended up in the bin. The chips were like cardboard. Chicken nuggets so rubbery that they were chewy & just fell straight out of the 'batter', salad was brown and wilted. Chicken burger so hard you could knock someone out with it! Not good at all 😬

Poor. Delivered wrong kebab. Kebab is like Ikea - assembly required. Pita separate to meat & salad Lamb kofte kebab was soft, too salty and mushy. Got lamb doner instead if lamb sheesh.

Had an emons special kebab. It was spicy but very tasty. Highly recommended this place.

Over 2hr wait for delivery and was possibly the worst tasting kebab I’ve ever had, basically £30 of food all in the bin (well to the dog)! Plus asked for can of coke and ended up with a Orange Tango! 1 Star rating was being generous…! Will avoid like the plague.

Waited 2 hours for delivery and. The food was absolutely shocking. The chicken shish has some weird lemon seasoning on it, the fried chicken was undercooked, donor was like paste and anaemic looking and I won't comment on the weird orange stuff which presumably was chilli sauce. The dog enjoyed it and we have settled for beans on toast. We won't be ordering again.

This would have been a 5 star review if we hadn’t have waited nearly two hours for our delivery! However saying that the delivery driver couldn’t have been more helpful when he arrived and even came back to bring our free drink that had been missed. The food was lovely and hot and great to be able to order a bigger variety. Portion sizes are generous and the extra cheese I added to my order was free of charge. Impressed and will order again with the hope of quicker delivery!

Best pricing in helston. Whent there last on helston lights turn on and got a bit drunk, the guys behind the counter let us eat in (my friend was very drunk). I never really remember how it tasted but it was probably really good.

Very good food, great size portion, very easy to over order, young girl on the tables was great 👍 my son wanted to go and we was very impressed.

I ordered this tonight and had two chicken kebab for me and my friend and thought I'll try you out as you are new.. well first of all it was awful as the chicken was overcooked and too many fats, ordered with no onions but there was one and we asked for sauces and there were none in it.. also it would have been better the kebab on the tray than the paper wrap and it make so much mess.. it would have been better to have more chicken than salad.. as we had too much salad but less chicken... It wasted our money for this . Chips was like cardboard..

Used to use another Kebab shop in the town but that one has gone downhill in quality and quantity in my opinion so decided to give this one a try. Well surprised at the quality of the salad, quality of meat and you get much more for your money. Very friendly staff. This will be my choice from now on.

The first time I ordered I did not receive my order even tho I had confirmation email saying order had been accepted. Anyway thought I'd try again wish I never the parmesan chicken was terrible I had one mouthful the breadcrumbs were soggy. The chicken was over done will not be ordering again.

Ordered 10pc chicken, chips and drink Mixed Donna Other Mixed kebab Chicken tower Kids meal I'm not 1 to complain but God, the chicken was double cooked (cooked ealer and heated up to serve) chips again where double cooked. The chicken tower burger you could say was more like chicken rubble, smallest burger ever and 1 hash brown the bun was far too big I could fit to chicken strips in and still had room. The Mixed Donna chicken was okay but got the lamb was more leather and oilly. The Mixed shish was over cooked and look like dog food. As a chef I wanted the day off cooking. But my god I could of got the same quality food from my 9 yo. Now I know your new to town, but please look at other outlet that do the same food. This food was below standard for Helston. I know you want quick service but pre cooking everything is just lazy. Everything on this order would take 5-10 mins to cook fresh. I won't be ordering again in a hurry. Best of luck but 👎

Food was okay until I got to the lamb shish tasted pretty foul I'm thinking was most likely off unfortunate as it all looked lovely but as I'm pregnant wasn't going to risk making myself ill

Food is very delicious. especially chicken donor and Burgers more delicious.As well as all staff are very good. In a word, disbelief.

I had mix kebab and chi shis couple of days before, kebab was fresh and good amount as well. All staff r friendly. Thanks. Specially chilli source was too hot. Enjoyed.

It's about time Helston has a decent kebab house. Staff nice and friendly. Kebabs and kids meals very tasty. Chips amazing! Portion sizes - big (for the first time in many years, a large kebab and chips defeated me). I have no hesitation recommending this place.

Really Don't Know Wot to say was looking forward of trying the food put a big let down chicken was over done same as the pit bread and i paid for chips and did not get them at all i think ill stay with my favorite one helston grill

Waited 45 minutes for my order and was told twice it was on the way, in the ended I cancelled the order as I gave up calling and waiting.

All the staff here were extremely friendly and helpful, the service was quick and the food was amazing! I'd recommend this place highly to anyone in this area.
