Quite a “staff canteen” but open to visitors / public. Excellent choice / variety of food and very competitively priced. Hot drinks are bizarre; you pay at the till and then receive an empty cup to go and serve yourself tea / coffee. Self clean after eating.

For a hospital choir e and quality of food very much questionable. Unbelievable amount of free sugars .

Found myself in a corridor nearby waiting on someone around lunchtime so went in search of something to eat. Following the signs for 'Fosters Restaurant' I fully expected to find myself at some rip-off cafe where a packet sandwich is £5.99 (think hospital parking) - I could not have been more wrong! Fosters is a good old-fashioned 'government run' style canteen that put me in mind of the Milk Bars of the Soviet Union - Big portions of hearty hot food for prices that you wont believe (a main meal costs £2-4)! There is a hot food counter as well as a salad bar and some delicious looking cakes and puddings. Hot and cold drinks complete the offering. I went for a portion of the Potato and Onion Pie with Peas and Carrots: This was delicious (think tartiflette but prepared by your school dinner lady! ), and very filling. There was also a 'spicy pork and fruit stew' and several "and chips" type options. The sticky-toffee pudding and custard also looked good, but I got called away.... Whilst this cafe is in the bowels of Gloucester Royal Hospital, it is open to the public, and if I worked locally I would be here often for lunch. What a great place!

Terrible Experience - Never Coming Back it wasn’t the bars staff fault I recently visited High Orchard and spent £50 on what turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. From start to finish, the service and food were completely unacceptable. The food arrived stone cold, and we waited ages for cutlery. In the end, we had to go and find our own cutlery and sauces. My friend ordered a burger, which came without the sauce he had paid extra for, adding to the frustration. When I spoke to the manager, he did offer fresh chips, which were fine, but that didn’t make up for the overall experience. My friend also ordered cheesy chips but was given a bowl of plain chips with cheese on the side. That’s not what we expected for the price. When I finally started eating my korma, the chicken was rubbery and completely inedible. It was one thing after another. This was hands down one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. £50 wasted, and we will absolutely not be coming back.
