Ate here with my partner. After a little while of waiting we realised it wasn't table service, should have been told when seated. We both ordered full English breakfasts. Bacon overcooked, mushrooms overcooked and wet, black pudding mushy. Sausage supposed to be local sourced but I'm not sure. I had a cup of tea and partner an OJ. The bill was FORTY POUNDS. FORTY. That is insane for what we got. Staff were pleasant but for that price I'm expecting mega, mega good.

Excellent cafe, really reasonable prices, and the quality of the food is top notch. Fresh sourdough and eggs. Some people moaning about their dietary requirements, the pricer of flowers (you're not obliged to buy them), and trying to denigrate and destroy a small business because of a rogue staff member. The entitlement is off the map. I visit this place a few times every week along with other excellent cafes like Aidan's, Tiny Tiny, and the staff are excellent here generally. Attentive, polite.

An unplanned visit on a gloriously sunny June day & luckily a seat outside as the main restaurant was full. Lovely brunch menu & three different selections between my wife, my son & I. Drinks came very quickly & the estimated 20 minute wait for the food was very accurate. My black pudding eggs Benedict was superb, with the optional addition of sausage, served on excellent soda bread. The other two meals, including Turkish eggs, were also high on quality & taste. Service was friendly and added the final touch to a very enjoyable meal.

This place is the gift that keeps on giving. Amazing food with all locally sourced ingredients make the price very reasonable and you feel dead good after eating there. The coffee is strong and well made. I'd strongly recommend this cafe, and also recommend to disregard the below comments about a staff member in training who was removed immediately following the incident per a public response and apology from the owner. Perhaps people should consider how their actions and reviews can impact a local business, rather than crying over spilt milk. Don't be a Karen, and support a local independent florist and her amazing cafe

If you've seen the most recent reviews of this place, my review will not surprise you in the slightest. I thought this café was so wonderful, it always looks so cute and cosy. I remember in November they had pumpkins and other plants outside for sale, it really did seem super idyllic. But the Fork in the Rose is the reason they say never judge a book by it's cover. There's nothing wrong with the quality of your food and drink, as long as there isn't an issue. The moment you have even a single issue, you're going to be in for a world of screaming (like, actual screaming) and blame-tennis. Which is only exaggerated by how often they seem to get orders wrong. I'd give zero stars if I could.

Don’t go there!!! Cafe itself cold and hard chairs. Woman who served me was very rude told me where I could and could not sit despite lots of empty tables I had to sit at window. When more people came in the same woman told me I had to move from seat in window further down to allow more people to sit there. This is still despite lots of tables being free. The women who she told to sit near me were too unimpressed as one had a bad hip and wasn’t able to sit on a high chair. She had been told by the woman she would have to sit there. Want to make it clear to this cafe we are paying to come here and should therefore be entitled to sit where we want overall a really bad experience due to staff

Came here to try it, got to say the coffee is the worst I’ve drank it was bitter and not drinkable. The scrambled eggs were the smallest portion I’ve ever been served from anywhere and for £6 what a disgrace. The sausage sandwich was also a joke 2 sausages in a huge bun a big slap of butter on the bun not even spreaded out. Totally unhappy with my visit and definitely won’t be returning. Try butterfly cabinet further up if you want decent food

Awful awful service on x2 occasions. Sat there for 20 mins, then offered coffee. No one came back to clear mugs away or offer any food / another drink. Very steamed up windows. Dry cakes. And the most overpriced flowers you could ever buy. Big shame, as initially this place had such promise.

Not everyone is a dog lover and they are just not hygienic in a small cafe where food is being served. Food fine if a bit pricey, staff very pleasant but experience totally ruined by four tables with dogs and a dog which apparently belongs to one of the staff and which ran about the cafe. Two tables of dogs started yapping and this wasn’t pleasant. Also for hygiene purposes, it’s not good for staff to stroke dogs

This is a gem of a cafe, well worth a visit. Great coffee and cake, and delicious food made with really high quality ingredients. Staff are friendly and welcoming and the cafe itself is a wonderful mix of light and airy but cosy as well, I’d happily sit in there all day! Only downside is the temptation to buy all the flowers and plants! Definitely not your average greasy spoon!

I had visited here for a coffee with a friend and loved the vibe with the plant shop as well as the look of the menu, so popped back here for breakfast with my man on a cold Sunday morning! It was unsurprisingly packed but we were lucky enough to grab a table pretty much straight away. We both ordered the eggs Benedict with avocado as an extra, 2 coffees and a brownie to take away. The bill came to over £40 which felt like a lot and DEFINITELY was a lot when we received our plates. While the food was good and the coffee nice, I do think it is expensive compared to alternatives in the area for food. It wasn’t anything to write home about. I would suggest just popping in for a coffee & a cake (the mocha vegan cake was UNREAL) and save your coin for a bigger and tastier brekky.

Been on my list of places to try since it opened and have heard great reviews. Went for brunch with friends, got a table without reserving which was great. Food and drinks were nice, but nothing spectacular compared to other eateries nearby and if I am honest it was quite pricey. Pleased to have tried it,but probably won't be hurrying back.

What a total joy to discover this wonderful cafe and florist shop. An equal joy as all flowers sold are not only stunning but in paper. Staff are friendly and efficient. We had the eggs Benedict . We asked to change bacon for smoked salmon which done with no fuss. I am extremely fussy about smoked salmon but this was perfect not greasy or fishy. The Holland aisle sauce was divine. Poached eggs cooked to perfection. I would highly recommended this delightful cafe and wish I had one similar near my house as I would be there a great deal.

I have been somewhat of a frequent visitor of Fork in the Rose since I moved to Heaton in 2019. The staff have been like family to me during different phases of the pandemic and have always gone way above what is required! They have always been friendly and engaging with me. I often buy bouquets or plants as gifts from the florist side and they have always exceeded my expectations! The food is also absolutely delicious, I love the eggs royale or the cavalo - not too filling that you feel bloated, but enough to feel full for a good few hours! The atmosphere in here is always lovely and vibrant, good music and a peaceful place to do some work on the side benches where they have plugs if you require them! I sat there for many hours whilst writing my dissertation! I would honestly say this venue is great for anytime, whether it be alone to do work or enjoy a coffee, or with family and friends - you can always expect the same outstanding and friendly service! Thankyou for being the amazing team you are.

A quirky independent florist /cafe nestled away on Heaton Road . A beautiful quiet eco friendly venue selling high quality bouquets, a vast variety of household and outdoor plants and serving the most delicious artisan food . I opted for Eggs Royale for a late breakfast. A culinary work of art was quickly presented before me , using the finest ingredients and a unique flair for detail and perfectionism . It was absolutely delicious . Even my coffee had an artistic display . The staff were fun and friendly making me feel so welcome that I can’t wait to return .

If you want a bacon butty with a choice of three different types of toasted bread, locally sourced fabulous bacon from The Block and Bottle on Heaton Road and home made tomato and brown sauce, it’s easy. Just go straight to Fork in the Rose cafe at 63 Heaton Road. There’s a great menu of other breakfast dishes a range of home made cakes and the coffee’s the best in Newcastle. This place is a real antidote to the soulless chains of cafes that dominate our High Streets. Don’t miss it!
