We visited here as it was heavy rain and we wanted to use the indoor play area. We were sceptical after reading some reviews but it was almost the best meal of the holiday. Full english was good. Steak and ale pie tasty. Burger was best of week. Kids meals good. I think kids beans on toast should come with 2 slices of bread as the one gets very soggy! The kids desserts were great. Three staff stood out here too, all so friendly and helpful which we hadnt found everywhere to be honest. My only criticism is some of the leather chairs were badly ripped and the menu was quite small.

We went here for Sunday dinner and for the price I think it was good value. Lots of fresh and not over cooked vegetables on the side and a decent portion. Service was quick (apart from asking for the bill) and food hot. Staff were lovely. Only criticism would be our drinks came at the same time as the meal which for someone who needs to take medication prior to food wasn’t ideal but not a deal breaker. If you’re expecting high end this isn’t it but for the price I really don’t think you can complain!

The roast vegetable club sandwich was very basic. We had to send back the homemade coleslaw as it was clearly off. It was however replaced with no quibbles with a salad. The halloumi bites - 3- were served with a piece of wilted water cress. It was very overpriced. Three people had fish finger sandwiches all of which were enjoyed.

The food was poor, especially for the almost £70 that we paid. The mixed grill was tiny. The chips were only just cooked. The burger was mostly bread. On the the bright side the Eton Mess was great! Wanted to leave some honest feedback about this place - the good and the bad. Although I didn’t have a horrendous time here, I struggled to give it more than 2 stars. It took a while to get served for drinks, and for them to arrive. Before drinks came we were brought 2 pieces of bread, but there were 3 of us, so I got the attention of a staff member who wasn’t occupied with customers and explained we needed another piece and she quite abruptly said “we only give them to adults” - our son is 12 and is eating from the adult menu anyway. She did then go and get another piece after I explained this (but did feel like unnecessary argument). Then when drinks finally came we were already ready to order food (because it had taken so long) but we didn’t get chance because the waitress rushed off. I had to shout over “can we order food please?” To which she flustered and had clearly forgotten that our order hadn’t been taken.

We were a party of four, we had four mains, three puddings, two pints of lager, a glass of wine and 4 soft drinks. The bill came to £99.95. The food I had was ok, a bacon and cheese burger, but I have had better in my local Marston’s pub for half the price. We had saved our visit to this restaurant until the last night of our holiday, what a massive disappointment. Service was ok, food was awful. I ordered a beef and merlot pie, this on arrival was nothing more than a preheated, dried out, gristle filled effort of a pie that sadly was not a Gastro delight. I returned this dish and another one was promptly served to my table in five minutes. A proper “ping” meal if ever there was one. I complained again and abandoned any hope of a decent main course. Moving swiftly on to desert - I ordered sticky toffee pudding with custard. This can’t go wrong surely - oh yes, it can. It arrived - some bright chef thought it would be great to drizzle toffee sauce through the custard. Yuck yuck yuck. I returned this dish too. The other meals in our party were ok, but overall it was expensive reheated average grub, with nothing special about it. Couldn’t wait to leave and won’t revisit. Center Parcs - you really need to pull your socks up with this place, it’s looking tired, food was not so great and not somewhere I would recommend. We paid our £60 bill and despite my meal being taken off still felt overcharged and not once did anyone ask was everything ok, not a comfort check in sight.

The ultimate burger was tasty but average size and came on a board with 8-10 chips and they were cold. No extras, no side salad. Even my daughter thought it was a small portion. I had the roast dinner. Half a small chicken, which didn't have much meat. I asked for more veg and less roast potatoes. They were described as buttered seasonal veg. They were steamed frozen carrots and broccoli , no butter or taste at all. The Yorkshire pudding was huge but again no taste , hard and not freshly cooked. We were allocated a table in a quiet corner which was perfect as we were not having to worry about children maybe being noisy. Orders were taken and the meals arrived reasonably quickly all nicely presented and hot. Not a hugely inspiring menu but something for all tastes. The burgers ordered were good, as was the huge rack of ribs, unfortunately the fish wasn't anything special but that is probably we are used to the excellent local fish. The children's meals were good sized. Our highlight of our meal had to be the excellent service from our waitress (said Trudy S on the bill) she was very helpful and so cheerful whilst attending to our table. The burger I was told was ‘fine’ but the accompanying onion rings seemed to be just batter rings – having somehow omitted to put in the onion in 4 out of 6 of the tiny things! – we had expected a stack which we could share! All 3 fish were hardly ultimate they were scarcely 6 inches long – tasty yes but very disappointingly small and the chip portions too very small – I had 16 – although I did get a little pot of gravy with the curry which was very good. All in all ok food but not worth coming back to I’m afraid as there are better eating places on site – Maybe it’s just a nice place to sit outside for a drink by the lake.

This was our first time at Center Parcs and we were there for a family break to celebrate my parents' golden wedding. Seven of us in total, including an eight year old, who generally chooses to eat from the adult menu but was more than happy with the children's menu here. I thought the menu was an interesting mix, no one style of food, but something for everyone. We each chose something different and every dish was highly praised. I thought the whole experience was outstanding. Mum and I started with a glass of prossecco, with a strawberry in it for a nice touch, while we waited for the others. The house red was very tasty and a nice quality, while the food could not have been improved on. Nice quality of coffee to finish off.

We've been to Center Parcs a number of times of the past few years and always enjoyed the Forester's Inn, or Country Club as we call it. In the past we've gone there for lunch and dinner and always thought the food was good. However this time we were disappointed. The quality of the food was poor and the prices seemed to have shot up. We also struggled with choice on the menu this time, do you really need to have Ale Battered Fish AND Beer Battered Fish on the same menu?Tables in pub side, where you can also eat, stood dirty for ages before someone cleaned them. I had to take our finished dishes upto the bar myself after half an hour of waiting for someone to do it. We had fish and chips and a burger while there, neither were great. Staff tried, but seemed a little de-motivated. We also had to sit in our coats (we were not the only ones) as they appeared to have the air-con blasting out.Very disappointed.

We cycled here from our chalet,in early evening, so were ready to eat. Service was good and the waitresses very pleasant and helpful. There were 10 of us 5 children and 5 adults. We all enjoyed our food (my Caesar salad was one of the best I have ever had and the children's trays of dessert were sights to behold (ice cream, cookies, sweets, marshmallows and a jug of chocolate sauce). The bill was rather steep, but included drinks, starters, mains and desserts for all of us.

Unfortunately most of this is echoing previous poor reviews. A few limp pieces of lettuce does not constitute a salad. Squid was soggy and bland, like most things at Forester's it tasted microwaved.Special mention to the extremely bad beer battered cod, its consistency was more like wallpaper paste.

My husband booked us a meal for a treat. Well wish we had not bothered. Food was dreadful, rock hard chicken, way over cooked and salad looked like it had been cooked also, limp was not the word.Kids meals came with beans, they'd been cooked maybe 3/4 times over too- mushyRidiculous gaps between starter and mains. Given the kids food came with our starters, expecting to have our mains while they are dessert. 50 minutes later, kids very fidgety and restless, after asking twice it arrives. Never had chicken like that before. My god it was tough! The bacon snapped with the pressure of the fork. Not pleasant. Fish greasy, chips cold, salad again very sad looking.Asked someone about the salad, brought Bowl of the same wilted stuff with fresh cut tomatoes on top- honestly my six year old has better skills in the kitchen. When questioning the standard we are told they have a big party in and it's usually like this on a weekend. I suggest then perhaps you reduce your prices considerably at these times if you know the quality is going to drop. Poor service from manager, when asked for solution she said she will see what they can do, it's hard to work it out on the till. Seriously? If you are considering eating here, don't. You would have a better experiences out with the bloody geese!

Really wish I had checked TripAdvisor before booking a family meal for Mothers Day. I booked our table for 6.15, purposely early as we had a 3&6 year old who are usually in bed for 7.30ish. We got there for 6 and were showed to our table straight away. We ordered our drinks after about 10 minutes, food order about 10 minutes after that. We got our starters and the kids meals at about 6.45. Kids meals where ok, what you expect for a fiver. Starters where pretty poor to say they are £7 each. We ordered Chicken Wings and halloumi, both were overdone. Being completely honest we did eat them even though they where overdone, they were ok.Our mains finally came at 7.35, after having to ask a couple of times where they were. We had Fish & Chips and Foresters Chicken. Fish & Chips - Fish is very greasy, chips where ok, bread was ice cold (almost frozen) apparently because it's kept in the fridge. Foresters Chicken was VERY tough, you could really do with a chisel (as stated in previous reviews). We are not usually ones to complain, but there was no way we were paying for these meals, we really had to argue the toss and ended up just paying for our drinks. Still not happy though. Apparently we had to wait so long because they had a big party in and it's always like that in a Sunday. We don't mind waiting a while, but 50 minutes between courses, especially when they are both of a poor standard is taking the biscuit! If your starter or main comes with salad on the side, please do not expect anything edible. When we go out, we usually have realistic expectations. With it being Centre Parcs we weren't expecting to be blown away. But when your paying £7 for starters and £15 for a main, you expect something half decent. Please don't waste your hard earned cash at Foresters, if you really want to eat out, go to the Indian Restaurant in the Village Square (see earlier review). My first 1 Star review and I'm nearly at 50 reviews. POOR, POOR, POOR. These issues need to be resolved by the Centre Parcs team, sooner rather than later.

Went for a meal with my partner and 2 year old son. Sat down, looked at the menu, prices were higher than prices in other restaurants in centre parcs. Ordered 2 children's meals, and an adults burger with 3 drinks. Came to £40!! When the food turned up, started cutting up my sons sausages, they were cold and pink!!!! Took that meal back was offered a replacement, accepted it. I ordered the children's spaghetti, that was cold too!. Childs new meal came out, so checked it, sausages still pink and cold. Once is a mistake twice is a very dangerous mistake. Spoke to the manager( poor lady) could not be more apologetic. The kitchen staff need serious training on food temps and the consequences of sending out raw food.

Just had an awful meal at the Foresters. Pricey as well. Just seen that a previous reviewer thught it was the best place to eat in Centre Parcs. I certainly hope not. We had a child's pizza, chips and beans with orange juice. One Foresters chicken with lukewarm chips and a beef pie, mushy peas and mash potatoes. Both adults meals were lukewarm, the chips were truly awful. Forgot! we also had a starter. When we saw them we just laughed! One was a 'Sharer' that is ONE roll with'oil' Not sure of this oil, I would have said cheap balsamic vinegar?? Child's starter of garlic bread. Two tiny pieces of bread. Now for all this, two adults meals, no sweet, 1child meal £47 !!!!! Waitress not friendly, but have seen and met worse. Very disappointing

Visited 29/12/16.Essentially offers typical pub food but at a price.Decor and service both very good. Waitress very friendly and helpful.Food was a little better than good but not exceptional. My fish was well presented but had taste of burnt/overused oil which perhaps needed changing.Other family members had burgers which all looked good.Youngest daughter ordered side of coleslaw which was described as "chipotle" and was very spicy for her but also for me when tried and I am used to hot curries from the best Bradford can offer! I gave feedback to the waitress on this and she promised to tell chefs.A good visit overall. Cost £80 for starters and mains. No drinks.

Booked a table for 6 adults and 3 small children for 13.30 arrived a little early but was shown to our table. We ordered our food 4 carvers a burger and fish and chips plus 2 kids meals. After a short wait our meals were brought out to us and I couldn't believe my eyes, the adult portions were tiny, 1 Brussels sprout, 3 slices of carrot, 2 thin slices of leak, 1 roast potato, a tiny portion of mash and a soggy Yorkshire pudding, we were also told we were lucky that on the day we were dining you got both portions of potato as usually you have to choose between mash or roast! The beef was tough and chewy as was the chicken, the fish batter was soft and mushy and the fish tasteless, and the burger was the worst he had ever eaten. Then to top it off we got hit with a bill for £132 with £12 of that as a tip. In summary if your thinking of booking here don't, such a poor experience.

Absolutely appalled with the service or lack of at pearl house. 1.5hrs after placing the order we called and were told they were busy, but the food would be there in 20 minutes and was ‘cooking now’. We waited another hour, still no food, so we attempted to follow up by calling again. After 30 attempts from the phone associated with the order number we couldn’t get through. I then called on my wife’s phone, they answered straight away. They said the order ‘is right in front of them’ and will be out soon. It did then arrive sometime after, however an item was incorrect. Communication and customer service go a long way regardless of order volume / how busy they are. Both were failed by Pearl House. Very disappointed.

Saltbox Bar for the lauch of Mollis fried chicken kitchen takeover. If you didn't already know, Mollis is known for their ULTIMATE fried chicken on derby road next to Alchemilla by Alex Bond chef Saltbox have teamed up with Mollis for a 3 month kitchen take over in Bolero Square next to the entrance of Motorpoint Arena Nottingham Its available every Friday and Saturday evening from May to July. We chose a couple of chicken burgers. One with Nashville hot oil fried chicken miso ranch, beer pickle, lollo rosso, furikake. The other,Classic southern fried chicken kewpie mayo, pickles, lettuce, cheese sauce. A side of Fries, house seasoning topped with parmesan. Pink fir potato, truffle curd, crispy onions and a roasted garlic mayo sauce. They also serve some amazing chicken wings, either 6 or 12 in two delicous coatings. If you've not managed to make it out of the city to try them before. Theres no excuse now, as you can pop in when you go to a nearby event or you just want some really good chicken in the town. You can even order it to take-away.
