This cafe bakery is a true find! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with the delicious aroma of freshly baked bread and brewing coffee. And let me tell you, those aromas don't lie! But what really sets this place apart is the staff. They are genuinely friendly, welcoming, and attentive.

First of all, if you take anything from this review let it be that their bread is not ‘fresh’, not ‘baked every morning’ it’s frozen. The fact they do not disclose this to their paying customers is a health and safety hazard. Anyone refreezing their loafs bought here is at risk. Secondly, I thought the Jodie was incredibly rude. You could hear slagging the other customers off in the back room. I don’t know where her manager was, but surely some disciplinary action is required. Overall I thought this cafe was lacking and slightly grubby. I guess instead of trying to support independent businesses next time I will just to go to the costa down the road.

Nice little café in the middle of mere street. Girls are always lovely and delightful. Lovely range of freshly baked cakes and bread. Sandwiches and panini are always delightful. The team were great and the young girl with purple hair was happy to make us something not in the counter. You just have to ask! Gluten free options available.

I visited for the first time to meet up with family and friends. We ended up staying much longer than expected drinking lots of coffees, eating snacks and delicious cakes. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the premises clean and well presented. There was a good atmosphere! We will definitely come back.

Coffee was nice enough, brunette girl, (assuming she’s the manager) not so much, away with the fairies on her phone, throwing produce at the other girls whilst they’re slaving away attending to customers, not a smile on any of the staffs faces. Avoid this place at all costs.

Stopping over in Diss for lunch on the way to the Suffolk coast, came across this cafe, looked inviting enough, with spaces inside. Coffee was very good - cappucchino and americano, and the New Yorker sandwich was wholesome tasty and very satisfying. Friendly service noted. Recommended!

Stopped here twice, at the very beginning and the very end of our weekend in Diss. Good wholesome food, with some surprises too. Pleasant staff. Just LOVE 'independents' like this one. Just wish we lived locally enough for a return visit!

Always liked going here for a quick bite to eat but the last visit was not enjoyable. Staff member jumping up and down the steps like it was a playground. Part of the order was wrong, had to ask for cutlery twice. Polite staff, but sadly also a little annoying. Just did not seem focused on job in hand and not very professional. Seemed very expensive for what we had. Whilst eating noted table had not been cleaned. Decided not to return.

Black American please. Oh look you have given me brown water by mistake, could you put another shot in please? Certainly, that will be 40 pence. Really? Thank you and goodbye.

Breads here are ok, but nothing like the quality of the Tudor Bakehouse. Looks great and does try but always disappoints.

Visited with a friend this morning. Very disappointed. Both my Danish Pastry and my friends Apple Strudel were really dry and stale tasting. It was 10.00am, but cannot believe either item was made today. We have visited a couple of times before and similar items have been fine. It’s a shame because once you’ve had this experience it puts you off risking visiting again.

Small bakery and cafe in the town centre with an excellent range of artisan cakes and pastries. The vegan Cornish Pasty is delicious, and the lack of meat is definitely no hardship! Tables are well spaced, also very good disabled provision, with a chair lift up the few steps to the higher level which has a large diabled friendly unisex toilet. Prices are good, and staff very friendly and helpful.

We were staying nearby at the Centre parcs on Elveden Forest for a hen weekend trip away. I contacted them to ask if they could cater an afternoon tea for around 20 of us, I had a wide range of dietary requirements. They were quick to respond and they went through the allergies and let me know what they could do. They also suggested reccomended amount of food for the number of people attending and offered advice on how to keep cost down. They were able to offer a good price per person. This branch isn't normally open on Sunday but they had someone in on Sunday to let us do the collection. On pick up day they had the food ready to go and it looked amazing, I only wish I remembered to take a picture! They had packaged the gluten free and vegan sandwiches separately. They were able to cater for the diabetic person in the group by providing low GI bread for all the sandwiches. I had great feedback for the food, some people even saying its the best afternoon tea they've ever had. The only improvement would be for the vegan sandwich to be more filling, such as falafel and hummus, rather then a spread and salad. Otherwise I'd highly recommend them, especially if you need to cater for a large group at an affordable price.

On holiday just outside Stowmarket and visiting Diss stopped here for originally just a coffee. However, had there meal deal £6.70 each which included sandwich with salad, cake & hot or cold drink this was so delicious and great value for money. Highly recommended and would definitely call again as staff were very polite friendly and attentive, thank you.

Having just popped into the Flour and Bean for takeaway bread I felt compelled to write this review. I bought the cheese and onion and the french stick soughdoughs and I genuinely don’t remember eating better. Utterly delicious. I couldn’t resist the apricot twists either, also delicious. I hope lots of people support this lovely bakers / coffee shop, I would hate to think that we wouldn’t be able to sit inside and enjoy all the other goodies that this place provides after lockdown. Staff delightful too.

First time trying this new cafe, ordered a tuna melt panini which was on the menu but told they had no tuna! Asked what cakes they had, told they only had one slice of cake available, it was 11.15am! Not a good start, unfortunately.

This little cafe has just opened and has extended seating at the back of the shop, It’s a modern cafe with a nice feel about it and has a interesting menu. We had tea & a mocha and two large sausage rolls & cheese straws...

£3.40 for small watery coffee. Everything is single-use disposable - card plates, card cups, large wooden spoon. Used to be a reasonable place - gone downhill in new format. Never again.

In the past we've really enjoyed our visits to this Costa but as of November-ish 2024, they don't appear to stock any vegan options in their sandwich/roll lunch type options. We went two days ago and the only vegan item they had was a teacake. I'm dairy intollerant, so we went elsewhere. Other Costas, such as Riverside, have vegan options... Greggs next door does too. We ended up at Pizzahut.

Nice pub with friendly staff and good service but the Sunday roasts are disappointing. Cheap meat and mountains of veg. Overpriced and won’t have another.

I do not usually write reviews, but our experience at The Wildebeest deserves one. We visited last night for my Husband's birthday and both opted for the 7 course tasting menu. Every single dish was stunning, from both a taste and visual perspective. The service was impeccable. Each person who attended to us did so with a smile. They were also very knowledgeable about the food and wine, presenting the dishes to us with confidence. Thank you, we will be back soon.
