Felicia (Flic) is a very nice lady, but her staff let her down. After the last meal l had, l would never return or reccomend -- it was terrible l'm sorry to say.

Amazing experience, my wife and kids love a good old English breakfast, charming chef and good customer service by him, Dean was his name! I visited last year thought that I would leave a review.

Big selection of food, plenty of it and good value. Best cafe I’ve been to, and will certainly go again when in the area.

Not many decent cafes around now, and this certainly isn’t one. It has great potential but lacks the cutting edge. You have to be able to cook an egg if you own a cafe. This used to be a great cafe in the 80’s (Square Deal) it’s definitely gone downhill.

Sometimes you just need a fried breakfast, this is the perfect venue for those times. Don’t come here if you want healthy food, silver service or to mix with the great and good of the world. Do come here for good value, great tasting breakfasts and lunches, friendly staff and to meet some ‘interesting’ people. Highly recommended for those mornings where a cooked breakfast is needed but you don’t want the hassle of cooking it yourself.

Had a full English. Every thing came out hot. I hate anywhere that serves cold beans The bacon and sausage was nice. I had a lovely cup of tea. Friendly staff and a tv to watch. The only thing I could fault this place on was a few tables had tea/food stains on. Which could of been sorted with a quick wipe.

Shirley is a great host, her smile and laughs just keep us returning. 5 stars for staff and food. The choice on the menu is huge, all freshly cooked and generous portion sizes. I always change my choice of order, but never a problem. I ask for an extra egg in my omelette and chicken too, never a problem

Don’t be put off by the interior. This is a really good find for a cafe bite of lunch. The steak and ale pie with mash, veg and gravy... lovely! The goat curry with rice... authentic and spicy... really good. Service a bit slow, but hey, it’s a cafe with great cafe food. If I’m passing and hungry, I’ll be back. Thanks.

Went for breakfast the other day and place was very busy with all sorts inside. Service was quick and menu is extensive with loads of breakfast options including eggs royale, benedict and florentine. Cheap price and decent quality!

Expecting at least to get a coffee first after ordering my omelette - which they couldn't do as I asked (not putting the egg yolks in too difficult - 'you get what's standard love') - coffee didn't materialise as they 'forgot'. Not that there was any staff around to remind them. Then also 'forgot' my son's milkshake. Had to drink the coffee and milkshake after our breakfast..

Flic's has been many different names but stayed with the English food theme. It not a posh place it's a cafe! It's clean , the staff friendly and the food is old school English. So big fried breakfasts mug of tea or coffee. The prices are not cheap , but the portion sizes are fair. It's good food at a fair price. You may want to check opening hours as they close after lunch sometime as trade slows down. But got try a breakfast there nice.

After cycling 20 miles to get here, I arrived about 2:30 to find the place closed, with a big sign on the door saying they close at 3 on a Saturday. I can only judge the food, service etc. on their decision to close at least 30 minutes early, I won't be visiting again if they don't open reliably.

Flic's is the latest re-incarnation of a cafe that's been present on this site for as long as I can remember. It's a good old fashioned greasy spoon cafe. I am not saying that in a bad way - it's always a great breakfast with proper tea and generous portions!

Afternoon Tea 31st December for our Anniversary booked vegetarian and only told on arrival festive menu just 1 sandwich option not good for any restaurant to offer poor options for vegetarians, we have been twice now on same date and never experienced such terrible service when complained brought out Camembert cheese sliced on rye bread which was disgusting, cakes mince pie, heavy sticky fruit cake just not worth £30 and should have been contacted after booked if unable to cater for vegetarian afternoon tea, did complain on day and got a discount but ruined our celebration will not be returning

Excellent value for the location. Sat upstairs with a view of the castle. Decent, no frills food. 3 meals, including drinks, £27.

After getting my coffee every morning for more than 2 months , I decided to drop this feedback due to extremely poor quality of services and coffee too. Apologies, but that's not coffee, taste as the water that comes after the coffee machine got cleaned up😔. Paying nearly £5 for nothing 😑

Came here Sunday evening with the family, definitely was pleasantly surprised. Aside from the dessert being absolutely delicious, the staff were so welcoming and helpful they really made the experience memorable. The new owner introduced himself to us and really made an effort to make us feel welcome and special, we’re really looking forward to making this a regular Sunday evening visit.
