Always wanted to try one of these. Cheeseburger with bacon, fries and strawberry milkshake £24.95...for one person this price is ridiculous. Food ok, but I won't be going back when Wendys opens three doors down (Chelmsford)

I was served by Youssra and she makes fantastic suggestions i tried a milkshake she suggested and it was the best milkshake ever!! Service was very friendly and entertaining loved it!!

This is a burger chain. Not like any other chain as I haven't seen another that keeps you burger in tinfoil to keep warm. 15 different toppings free on top of what you order. My bacon cheeseburger was £11.95 and chips were £4.95, so pricy but of good quality

Food was good as usual. Had to ask for the table to be cleaned but that was done instantly. Good milkshakes to.

The customer service is superb, very friendly & professional, on top of the fantastic quality & quantity of food. Even though I only ordered a small meal, it was both delicious & extremely filling. I highly recommend this restaurant for a spot of lunch.

Stopped by for milkshakes and discovered a delightful surprise - complimentary perfectly salted peanuts! Paired them with a peanut butter milkshake and a salted caramel shake. Despite initial skepticism about size versus price, they turned out to be surprisingly filling. The peanut butter shake leaned more towards salted caramel due to honey-roasted peanuts, but the salted caramel one was spot-on. Shoutout to the manager—an enthusiastic pro. Next mission: burgers. 'Toast' and 'GBK' might have the upper hand on peanut butter shakes, but overall for me, a tasty experience. Looking forward to round two!

Absolutely brilliant five guys venue. Very clean and fast service. Nice staff and the food as brilliant as always. 🍔🍔🍔 had the biscoff pistachio and salted caramel as my milkshake combination and honestly was very nice (always try and different combination whenever I go into a five guys establishment peanut butter, salted caramel and chocolate is also good)

I'm a vegetarian, so I only ever have the vegetable burger and fries but they have always been so tasty. Love this premises and all of the literature on the walls.

My first visit to a Five Guys. The server was helpful when I said this is my first time. Went through the menu and the options with the 15 'free' toppings. I'd have preferred my meal and drink all came at the same time as drink was first then 7mins later the food. The meat in the burger was clearly different to other burger joints and very nice with a noticeable beef taste and less pulped texture. Usual picture doesn't fit the reality though; not enough salad added. The fries were very nice, if a little too salty, and plenty of them; apparently the potatoes were from Cheshire and skins left on. The strawberry milkshake was meh. Not the strongest flavour and it had the 99 flavour you get from the ice cream van, which I like but would have thought the flavouring should have over-powered that. Not too thick but still not a 'milkshake', ie milk and flavouring. The whipped cream on top was a treat at the end. I wouldn't rush back, especially for the cost.

We got a takeaway with 2 milkshakes, 2 fries and 2 burgers. Milkshakes were nice but not the food. The fries were so salty we threw them away and the burgers were disgusting. So greasy and fatty. Don't think they were a mistake just think that's the way they are at five guys. They were so greasy that they made us feel sick. We threw them away too. All for £45, total rip off. Won't be going back rather have a wrap from the supermarket.

I have visted Five Guys quite frequently throughout the years and always leave feeling satisfied. However me and the Mrs came in a few days ago and Connor recommend adding a patty for a little added fulfillment to my grilled cheese sandwich, I asked to add some bacon and some other toppings and safe to say that's probably now my top go to for a lighter meal! Always glad to see the staff know their way around the menu and keeping the place clean and tidy. Thank you again to Connor for the recommendation!

You always know you're in for a great quality burger at Five Guys, everytime I've been I've always been given a hot, juicy and fresh tasting burger. While there is no denying it's on the expensive side, there really is no beating that fresh burger taste you can't get at many other fast food burger places! I love the fact you can add as many or as little burger toppings as you like, and sauces are included in the price (as they should be!) The fries are so tasty, I only ordered a small but I could barely finish them they give out so many, definitely not complaining about that though! The milkshakes are also very good and definitely worth a try, even if they are almost £6 each! You could even have a bacon milkshake if you are daring enough, although I'd fully recommend the oreo! Staff were very friendly as well and although it does take a little longer to get your food than McDonald's for example, it is nice knowing your burger has been freshly made and being able to see it prepared infront of you! Overall, you're getting great food and a great service which is reflected in the price tag, but it is definitely worth a try if you haven't had it already!

Had one of the tastiest cheeseburger and fries from here. They definitely take pride in their locally-sourced ingredients and it shows. The service I received as a first-timer was also faultless; I never felt rushed or judged. However, as many others would agree, the price is bonkers and whilst my milkshake was lovely, I could only taste the tiniest bit of Biscoff and you could easily get a better shake from somewhere like Byron, or even McDonald's if you modified it! I'd come here again solely for the burger and fries, but only when I can convince myself that it's EXACTLY what I fancy for the price point.

Now I'm going to be honest I don't get the hype here. I judge an experience by its value and the experience doesn't warrant the price. While it is a step up from main stream burger places the sitting down to eat burgers in a restaurant style is lacking here. The decor is basic and functional rather than styled and cosy I felt like I was eating in a launderette. The burgers are tasty but although choosing your fillings seems like a good idea its actually a bad idea to get customers to design their own burgers-I've come to Five Guys for their burger making expertise but my burger taste was down to me and I forgot things that a basic big mac has in it and so it tasted bland. In short I would rather Five Guys made their own signature burgers rather than me botch my own. That said the chips where tasty and you get plenty of them. Would I come back? I'm not drawn.

Fries seemed to be smaller portions than other Five Guys I have visited. Everything else was as expected, consistent and tasty with quick friendly service.

Quality of the burger meat is good, and the chips ('fries') is much better than McDonalds, although the product is somewhat different anyway. And the selection of soft drinks is good, although for £3.75 for a bottomless refill, so it should be. However the gluten-free offer is poor - they offer you an allergen list but leave you to figure out what you can have/not have, item by item. This does not include any of the milkshakes either, sadly (why have gluten in a milkshake at all, excepting a 'cookies' or a 'malted' one?). And, furthermore, for a burger you effectively have to ask for a burger wrapped in iceberg lettuce - no sign of any gluten-free bun being offered. Poor, for the cost (a burger, fries and soft drink for two was £34!)

Expensive for fast food however the burger was delightful and the milkshakes they do are nice lots of variety. Will definitely visit again.

Big massive burger with large portion of fries. Greatly flavoured. Great choice of milkshakes which tastes good. Best comparatively in market but cost is not affordable when with family. Worth trying it atleast once. Thank you so much for the good hospitality and customer service 😊

We bought 2 x BLTs Completely cold and the bacon was clearly left over fragments - we returned to speak to the staff as they cost £10.75 and the chap couldn’t have been less interested He claims that they are always cold as the bacon is only cooked in the mornings ! Obviously Five Guys now think that they can trade in their passed reputation and training/quality am be sacrificed to make more profits

Very friendly staff and a nice atmosphere to walk into looking around the store it was very clean and tidy also what I like to see is that on the receipt they respect their staff by putting their name instead of a number I would also like to thank the man that served us for being helpful and patient his name was Tony

Big up all the dons at this store, a colleague managed to do a kickflip on a burger bun like Tony Hawk then made my burger perfectly blindfolded while juggling 3 pumpkins. Highly recommend 🛹🍔👌

Good food a bit expensive compared to the other fast food place but a large chips is enough for 3 people

Was suggested that I try this burger, the large cheese and bacon with extras for £10.. Quite frankly I would rather have eaten an old man's slipper. They certainly made sure the burger was cooked.. in fact they may have cooked it 4 or 5 times to make sure.. as for the bacon, I think they may have mixed up a box of wood chips with the bacon.. All in all I have to say not a fan..

Just don't expect McDonald prices 😂 but the quality of the food is amazing, if I had the money I would definitely pick this over McDonald's or burger king 👍

I cannot explain the love I have for 5 guys... The chips, the burgers, the hot dogs and THE MAYO. Oh my god, heaven!

Good burger but the price is just ludicrous! Especially when you realise you've been charged double for a milkshake. Was spotted and refunded by the manager almost immediately after the sales operative got it wrong. So quality checking of staff carried out as well as food. Nice.

Ok so let's not beat around the bush ..Great flavoursome burgers , beautiful fries cooked in peanut oil with handsome portions..Great drink choice especially the milkshakes they taste so good. It really is the next step up from your average fast food restaurant.. clean place, helpful staff ....But the big negative and the elephant in the room is the PRICE , big money, overpriced for what it is ...If visiting as a family expect to pay , worth it ? Up to the individual

Quick and friendly service and the chips are some of the best you can get and really good portion sizes. Menu isn't huge but everything is very good, would be nice for some chicken and more veggie or vegan options.

Fancied a burger as a bit of a treat, and having used five guys before, I know the burgers are good and the milkshakes are amazing :) Is it cheap? No, but you know that from looking at the menu or online. But the meat is decent quality, you can add whatever toppings you want, and you get more chips than you could possibly want. 4 of us ordered a variety of burgers, chips and milkshakes, and it was as good as ever. I don't eat burgers that often, but I'd use five guys again.

Bit of a wait for the food, but then again it is made to order, like 'Wendy's' burgers used to be. Very tasty when it did arrive eventually, after the order being wrong and having to be redone. Vegetarian option, again tasty, but almost impossible to eat without a knife and fork some out just falls to pieces the minute you pick it up - very messy. Covid rules appear well followed, though two separate people eating inside in full view of the staff remained unchallenged; there were no tables left outside so they sat inside, way way inside: That's disappointing. Good, fresh food, though let down by some of the ginger service points.

Five Guys is by far the best burgers in UK. If you never had it you HAVE to try once! At least once and then you will be hooked!

At 5:02pm I placed an order that I would collect at 7.15pm. At 7.06pm I received a call from Five Guys saying that they wouldn't fulfil my order. Apparently they were always planning to close at 7pm yet they still allowed me to place an order. Only telling me 10 minutes before (when someone was on their way to collect the food) that they wouldn't give us our food. Two questions come to mind. 1) Why did it take two hours to ring me! 2) How much do the staff hate their job that they couldn't work an extra 15 minutes to fulfil the order... Terrible service. Ruining our Christmas Eve dinner plans meaning we were left trying to find a takeaway that wouldn't turn us away at short notice. Five Guys 'kindly' said they would refund me... the way they told me this seemed like they were suggesting they were doing me a favour... This is unacceptable & I hope Five Guys can rectify their mistake. Until then I will not be eating there again.

Absolute daylight robbery! Do not use these.. £36 for burger and hot dog and chips and 2 milkshakes! The hot dog was a Tesco’s bun with shop bought German sausage , the hot dog alone was £10 I’ll put pictures up and let you decide! I have had better food at a fair ground for a fraction of the price.. Called the restaurant straight away after delivery who were most unhelpful and didn’t even know what trip advisor was!!

Staff were friendly enough, glad they explained the menu, why are some of the toppings in red? Are they more expensive? Didn't have any, just in case. The chips are unbelievably salty, heart attack in waiting. The burger is messy, nice enough, but you can see why they give it to you in tin foil. The drinks machine is a nice touch.

Absolutely appalling! I had been pre warned it was expensive but thought I’d take the kids and try it, 2 burgers 2 hotdogs, 2 chips, 2 small drinks £51! It’s something you would get from a fair ground, cheap and horrible! Be warned don’t waste your time or money! BK just down the road

First the staff are great, Matt and his team work tirelessly to put the customers first. Secondly.....wow.....what a burger! Real meat patties with skin on fries - this what a burger should taste like.

Great food as always, good service, very kind worker came out to wipe the rain off the chair. Pleased with new outside seating area as prefer to sit outside. Milkshakes are really good! Thick and creamy, banana had proper banana chunks in it!

I just don’t get it. People rave about this place and I really can’t see why. The burgers are good and the portion sizes are bigger than usual for the chips and the bottomless fizzy drinks. But the venue means that it’s like eating your food in a swimming pool changing room. Every available surface is tiled making it deafeningly loud and the bright lighting makes it almost unbearable to stay in for more than 10 minutes. Perhaps that’s part of the plan to get people out as quickly as possible. Staff are friendly and although they got my order wrong from the limited menu they remade it without any fuss but most of them were horse from shouting over the noise at customers. All of this is isn’t a deal breaker but then when you get charged £20 each it doesn’t make sense. Burger King is 1/3 of the price for the same thing or Byron/Honest is the same price for much more. You choose.

Five Guys is the best high street burger, fact. So juicy, tasty and packed with flavours it's a brilliant burger. The Chelmsford branch is good, with friendly staff and now supporting outdoor seating.

I celebrated my nomination last night in this great restaurant. I am glad to say that it was a cool evening and the restaurant was no doubt one of the reasons for this successful evening. The stuff helped in a pleasant style, the meals were great and my friends were extremely delighted. We shall surely visit again for more celebrations. Thank you very much.
