The food was great and the service was lovely I lost my bag and they helped it's was a good atmosphere

I come here after work which is usually 19-20:00 staff is always friendly, not a single time have I had any problems. Considering how stressfull working in fast food can be, they're doing a great job.

Ordered online took over one half hours, turned up Cold and Soggy almost 35.00 For two. I’d be happy to pay that if you actually got it out to customers on time, you clearly cannot keep up with the demand.

Ordering time slightly faster than McDonald's (very good) The place was lively and decently clean The food was outstanding. The burger was on a different tier to McDonald's (probs the best burger I ever had in recent memory). The main difference was just quality of ingredients, which was definitely noticeable, especially the beef patties. I recommend lettuce, onion, mayo and hot sauce for your toppings, they taste really good. The chips were amazing as well, the peanut oil deffo stands out giving it that extra salty flavour. They give you loads as well, for 1 person the small order is all you need. The milkshakes are really good as well, I had the mango one tasted great, but I do need to come back and try the rest to make an accurate comparison v McDonald's milkshakes, cuz the McDonald's banana milkshake still up there for me. All and all, I definitely had an amazing time, great meal, the only complaint I have is just the prices which are too much icl. I spent £40 for 2 people. I ordered: regular cheeseburger, small fries, mango shake, little cheeseburger, small fries, drink (unlimited refills, but you pay 4.50 for the cup). This deffo makes it more for a special occasion than regular eating, but I'm going to five guys knowing that it's gonna be a premium experience anyways, so I feel like it's worth the extra cost.

Never had a bad experience here. Very tasty burgers made exactly how you like, and very generous chips. Have tried a milkshake and that was divine but can't manage a milkshake alongside a meal as they are so generous!! Free refills on soft drinks is great, and the selection is fantastic. Cannot fault the food, service or experience.

My husband enjoyed his burger, i found mine to be a bit grease, chios were really nice and so was the milkshakes. Bit expensive for what you get.

I'd never been to a Five Guys so this was my first (and now probably only) experience. The menu is above the till where you order. There was a queue of people and quite busy so I had to choose quickly. My daughter ordered a cheeseburger and I (who was hoping for something chicken as I don't eat burgers or sausages) very quickly realised the limited selection on their menu and opted for the "veggie sandwich" with cheese. The person behind the till was friendly and explained one portion of regular fries was plenty between 2 and with the free refills we could have 1 cup and 2 straws so I was very grateful to her for her advice. We then went to find a table which we just about managed but the table was greasy with bits of food on it. I then saw the other tables and worked out why. There is nothing to eat your food on. Not even a tray. Just a bag or some foil or a cardboard cup. Fine for the environment or if you were eating outside, less good inside the restaurant, and clearly the reason the tables were unclean. I then had to go and collect my food from the counter (stood watching them make it for about 10 minutes- if you've never been, think Argos but with food.) The staff were working hard and were polite and smiley. We then had to make various journeys across the restaurant to get a pot of ketchup and refill our drinks. The cheeseburger was OK, not dry and a good size. My daughter liked it. The fries were a good sized portion although some were in the cup and the others just thrown inside a paper bag, which seemed a bit weird. Why not make a big enough cardboard pot or box to hold all of them? The Veggie Sandwich was terrible. It was not a veggie burger as I had hoped. It was a burger bun (so not a sandwich) with green peppers, diced onions, sliced button mushrooms, a tiny piece of lettuce and a slice of tomato. The cheese was tasteless and the only thing it did was to make the burger/sandwich more greasy. The mushrooms and onions were chopped so small, they all fell out after one bite. It was not good. I ended up scraping everything out of the bun and just eating the slice of tomato with it and sharing the chips with my daughter. I really hope Five Guys decides to cater properly for those of us who are meat free or don't eat other things on their menu- they are missing a trick. The member of staff who was going around tidying the tables decided then to wedge open the doors of the restaurant, despite the fact that there is an Amber weather warning for wind, and this restaurant is right next to the sea, and the wind came in and made everyone cold. The wind then blew so hard the doors didn't stay open and started closing on people as they walked through them which I felt was unsafe. All in all, apart from the (mostly) friendly staff, it was a bad meal in a cold and unhygienic restaurant and expensive for what it was. Next time one of my kids wants a burger, I will go to Burger King, where I can choose from a range of food, use a clean tray to eat from and pay half the price for the privilege.

5 Guys burgers are fantastic and the chips amazing - get a medium fries and share them, you get plenty!

Absolutely great food! Great customer service, I had a burger forgotten from my order (not paid for). They instantly prepared it, saying that I did not need to pay. Great experience, will come again.

Great cheeseburger... All the way. I also really like their fries. One of the best in the industry. Great portions too. Their prices are a little higher than other chains, but the quality is great. I recommend cheeseburger all the way with fries and a shake.

In one word, disappointing, we heard about this franchise so decided to visit. Place was clean and tidy and we took a menu and then went to counter to order, we both asked for a Large chips and recieved about 6 portions and when we mentioned it to the staff they said large is usually for 4 to 6 people but as fa's as I could see it wasn't mentioned on the menu. 2 burgers with 2 fries (4 to 6 fries each) and 2 milkshakes ended up costing £56 and they cooked the same burgers for each of us instead of 2 different ones that was ordered. As stated Disappointing Visit.

5 guys is always great food regardless of where you go. Gunwharfs great as it's right next do to a bowling alley which is equally great. Only Down side is some of the yobos that decide to steal tip money and cause issues for the staff. Gunwharfs security are actually pretty good and dealt with issues the couple of times I've been.

Does not serve coffee only milkshakes I had a vegy burger. It was a mess .took it back was given a new one . The staff were very helpful.

Very busy on a Saturday evening, so bit of a wait to place order, average wait for a busy evening, burger very nice, bit overpriced so would only be occasional visits, but can see why it's popular.

The burgers we ordered were bland and greasy. For the price and the ingredients being fresh to order daily I expected a lot better. First and last time I visit 5 guys in Portsmouth.

We were out early for some shopping in the area and come lunch-time we thought we would try Five Guys as per some recommendations from friends. I should of took a hint when there was practically no one in the establishment besides a handful of customers leaving & the few workers behind the counter. The food itself was fresh and edible all things considered however for the price I wouldn't recommend it to anyone as almost all of the garnishing inside the burger fell out before I finished taking it out of the wrapping. The burger itself wasn't awful however for the price I'd of felt happier settling for an alternative like Burger King not that far away. As for the fries, for the price we paid (£5 or so) we received a small polystyrene cup with a handful of fries in alongside a handful in the bag we received the food in. All in all, the service was ok and the food was ok but I think my first time will be my last.

Came in for a quick lunch last week, Lauren was so lovely and polite at the tills, explained the menu for me and catered for my allergy. An asset to the company!

overpriced and kinda dirty, we were here while it was pretty much empty and our milkshake took 20 minutes, staff was too busy chatting with friends....

The staff were good, the food was reasonably quick, but i can honestly say the £10 I spent on 2 grilled 'cheese' sandwiches was the biggest waste of money I've ever spent. 2 bits of yellow melted plastic between 2 inverted burger buns does not make a £5 grilled cheese sandwich. On the other hand, the milkshake was apparently pretty good

Five guys burger and fries is the best so far!

First time trying 5 Guys and to be honest, I was underwhelmed for the price. Everything was fresh but taste was nothing fantastic. Definitely above McDonalds but at the price, wouldn't be my first choice.

I had a small burger with cheese. Very expensive and bun was really stodgy which made burger unpleasant to eat.

To be honest I was expecting a more premium experience with the US reviews posted on the walls and the need to differentiate from McDonald's and Burger King. Firstly and most importantly, the food is good. A juicy burger and a choice of toppings, excellent. The bun not quite so premium. Tasty fries, big portion. Loved the vanilla milkshake. Staff really keen and friendly. But the place is not premium and does not attract discerning customers despite the designer outlet location. At nearly £5 for a milkshake and over £20 for burger, fries and shake, this is competing against sit down restaurants. The burger wrapped in foil was greasy from the fries and the brown bag did not open up nicely to eat off. With no table service, greasy down market restaurant, the environment and experience overall is a let down. I wish them well, but the company needs to get the whole experience to be better.

Some absolutely bizarre reviews on here!…. “Had to fill our own drinks?!!”…. Errrr yeah!!!… And the machines are awesome! Only seen these machines in Five Guys - they have a huge selection of drinks and then a huge selection of sub-flavours!! And the drinks are refillable!!!… Hence why you have to get off you **se, walk 5 or 6 metres to the machine, make a decision, press and button and walk back again?!! Heaven in a brown paper bag!! It’s that simple! Burgers are juicy, freshly made, you get to choose your toppings… and yes, they come wrapped in tin foil to keep them warm, fresh and juicy!! Service was great, staff friendly, restaurant was spotlessly clean and yes it’s expensive, but they are head and shoulders over any other “fast burger chain” in terms of quality and flavour!

Five Guys is Five Guys! Portsmouth one took great care in their presentation of the burgers more than most though.

Five Guys are my favourite 'chain' burgers and this restaurant did not disappoint. Delicious burger, creamy peanut butter milkshake (highly recommended), quick friendly service. They aren't cheap but the quality is worth it.

A somewhat over rated experience for this bouje McDonald's wannabes. I don't get how they think that the better part of £20 for a less impressive Happy meal is acceptable

Welcome in sat down, place was very empty, dead is the word. Took our drinks order, just 2 of them. Pepsi max & Lager & lime, didn't have a clue what that was. Had to explain. Came eventually with a slice of lemon!! Ha!! There for ages, had to call staff to for our drinks still didn't come for ages had to ask again. Food took about 45mins to arrive. Just 2 of their burgers. Nothing special for the cost. Didn't offer anything for the incompetence of staff & the time of waiting. Don't think I'll go again.

Very chill atmosphere compared to other food places in the area. Not only good food but you get your money's worth for the price. Also saw a child leave a drawing on the table and instead of just throwing the picture away. They placed it up on the board for all to see which was a nice touch to the meal.

If this is the so-called "American Standard," there is seriously something wrong with this place. Such high reviews all over the restaurant.. but when you go in and dine, it's completely different. As you can tell from the disgusting photos of "food" The first image is of an "All Beef Hot Dog" ... now I know you guys might think, nooo, this is a microwave hotdog you get from the local Co-Op..but yes, this is what 5 guys call there "Hot Dog" The second image is a "Bacon Cheese Burger" again. This is there so called American style burger but looks and tastes like a microwavable burger. Also, we got drinks and were not given a cup.. so I asked a staff member who must have been deaf because I had to repeat myself 3 times to ask for a cup. Then he proceeded to ask me, "For what? "... I don't know, buddy. I'm going sky diving next month. I might need it to slow me down.... so I told him it was for a drink I need two. And he gave me one.. then dropped it on the floor, picked it up, and handed me the cup.. I don't know what kind of people your hiring or what your standards are but it needs to be addressed. And also try not to use microwavable food. It will help the company. Just saying. And also don't charge people for raw chips or small portions when we paid for large, that also helps. NEVER AGAIN. I don't know how this place is open.

Milton Keynes, was told one portion of fries was enough for 3 people, it wasnt. Had to fill our own drinks, food served in tin foil and no table service, this for £50 for 3 burgers, one fries and 3 drinks!. Burger tasted mediocre at best. Will never go back. Dont see why people rate this company so much at this price point.

Average food and drink! For me and my two children, it cost £50 !!!!!!! That’s right, for a big standard burger fries and drink, for 3 people, it cost £50. Not too sure what the food tasted like, because I was too preoccupied with the astronomical price for burger and chips. I don’t care how good you claim to be. No burger is worth that much!!!

Went for a business lunch (truth is Nando's was shut). No real greeting, no real happy smiling servers. felt like place your order then stand over there and wait. Food came, burger was tough, dry and insipid, no real taste or flavour. Fries were ok when covered in mayo. I fail to understand why people think that the food here is so good. to me Burger King have a far better burger. Season the food, dont cook it quite so much, retain some flavour and juice. There was a sign that said "A Five Guys burger is a succulent, juicy delight" not on the day I visited. Hopefully Nando's will be open next time.

I... don't know about this spot, it feels quite weird with regards to the atmosphere, but I have to admit the burger was amazing. Can't say the same about fries, though, they were really off. I wasn't sure if these were fries at all. Ketchup saved the situation, though. And refillable drinks, too.

After 2 nights of trying to find the correct restaurant, we wanted to chill out and eat food from a chain restaurant. And wow, it was amazing as always. This is my 3rd different 5guys restaurant, and they are all perfectly in sync with each other! I can't rate them enough! Hot fresh food, clean and tidy, staff friendly. What more could you ask for!

Was alright for quick burger and chips, drinks machine was awesome and enjoyed refilling my cup to try different flavours like blue gatorade and Fanta grape

Heard they pulled a bait and switch during an interview for earnings per hour. I'm no lawyer but I'm certain that's illegal in most states Employer: Your wages could be $15 - $100 /hour Applicant: So uhh is that actually $15 /hour Employer: Yeah. Here's an offer letter for $14/ hour Applicant: ???

Lies to employees about rate of pay during interviews. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

The food is good but it's way overpriced. I paid £20.10 for a cheeseburger with fries and a milkshake. The burger was great as was the shake. The fries tasted good as well but were covered in more salt than can be found in evaporated sea water! Had the fries come without seasoning they would have tasted just fine. Maybe they should consider removing the salt and letting customers add their own salt instead. The food is definately premium quality compared to other burger brands such as McDonald's and Burger King so I would expect to pay more however my reccomended price for a burger with fries and a drink would be around £12 to £15 and definately not over £20!

I feel it was over priced for a fast food restaurant. It cost us £32 for a burger, hot dog, 2x fries & 2 x milkshakes. The equivalent would cost less than £15 in McDonalds. The burgers & hot dogs were good quality and you can load them up with as many toppings as you like, the coffee milkshake and lotus biscoff milkshake were delicious. The service was slow but a friendly young man did apologise for that, once he’d said it’ll be a while, we took a seat instead of standing around by the pick up counter, nice of him to let us know. It was midday on a Saturday so to be expected I guess. The fries were horribly over salted, so much so that I actually wished I’d got water instead of milkshake because the milkshake wasn’t quenching the salt induced thirst. It really put a dampener on the meal and I couldn’t finish the fries. If they weren’t over salted, they would have been very tasty.

Yesterday I was in the store with my friends for some bite and saw the manager shouting to a Deliveroo rider literally “Get Out” just because he waited longer and enquired why is it taking so long. I think that poor driver deserves an apology. It was very rude and I felt disgusted. I would not go to a place which don’t treat others lowly than others just because they work there and have control over the others. It’s shameful for such a reputed company to not invest in training staff how to be ethical and respectful.

Very well mannered staff didn't have to wait for my order I had a beef burger chips and an amazing milkshake well done guys tables we're nice and clean very nice experience will see you again soon

Food is very nice, but expensive!

Had lunch with my family on Wednesday. The store looked nice and clean. Food was amazing. Not to forget Henry's customer service on the till and on the collection point.

Great place to have a few hours out and about. Lovely shops for all ages, tho (Nike shop having a refurb) loads of choices for places to eat and drink, and there is also a cinema... When it's sunny it's nice to sit out and look across the marina, or maybe watch people absail down the Spinnaker tower.

Great meal (although expensive at £18 for a burger, fries and milkshake) but the food was delicious. Staff at Gunwharf very, very helpful explaining it all and helping advise my on portions (large fries at meant for 4 people, not just me!).

The best burgers on the market , a bit on the expensive side and couple that with having to pay an expensive ferry fare and parking to get from the IOW to gunwharf it turns into an expensive day out ,it would be nice to have one on the island !!!

Amazing selection with the 14 topings alongside delicious food. The chips where amazing but some of the smaller ones where to crispy. The fact you could get a refillable drink was a plus. It was ridiculously expensive for just 3 people

Very very busy, actually it was packed. Had to wait 15 mins for a table. Staff were friendly and helpful and constantly sweeping a dirty floor. Felt like they were on a losing battle. Although did get a table, it was a very noisy place to eat. Food was good as you'd expect from 5 Guys just not an enjoyable experience to eat here.

Hot and fresh. Very shouty though. They must recruit people on the basis of the volume of their voice. Some sort of electronic number board would be better.
