My friend and I spent the afternoon in St Agnes and had a reservation for 7 o'clock at the Fitty Pysk. However, we started to feel hungry well before then so asked if we could bring our booking forward to 6 o'clock. Not a problem, which made us very happy. The restaurant is approached by some fairly steep stairs but once at the top you realise that this provides a brilliant view of the bay. Inside, we were given uninterrupted views of a beautiful evening sunset from our table. It was difficult to choose from the tempting menu but eventually we both opted for the rum and ginger slow roasted pork belly, with seasonal vegetables. It's no exaggeration to say that it was divine, crispy crackling, melting fat and succulent meat. A very well-presented dish, very tasty; my only criticism would be that the vegetables were a little al dente for my personal taste but the pork was definitely the star of the show. Amazingly, we both decided on a pudding- this was reckless abandon as we were quite full and both on diets! Delicious frangipane tart for me and a chocolate pud for my friend. It was a bridge too far but had to be done, washed down with a half pint of delicious still cider brewed locally. The whole experience, the setting, ambience, service and food was a lovely end to my holiday and I hope to revisit next time I'm in Cornwall visiting my friend and seriously investigating the pub side of the Driftwood Spars, particularly the local cider.

We ate as a large family. Lovely location and premises but virtually empty which was worrying. Didn't do half size portions of steak for the children and I thought the prices were a bit steep for what ended up on the plate, bearing in mind mackerel is a very cheap fish. It was all cooked well but the portion sizes left a bit to be desired. Staff were over pretentious and we had to listen to a description of all the beers they had on sale. Just be friendly and efficient and be able to answer any questions diners may ask! Overall, dissapointing but not a disaster. May suit other people but we found better in the village. Not suprised that they are ranked low in St Agnes. Who knows, they could turn it around and be a successful eateries in the future.

This bistro has a very attractive room overlooking the sea. The menu has wide choices and the food was excellent. Good wine list. We should have returned for a second evening in our week's holiday nearby if the service had been more restrained. No criticism of the speed (they clearly have good kitchen staff) but we don't need to gossip with an over-friendly waitress, or wait for our bill while she chats at length to other guests.

No volveremos.

Lovely location, we were made welcome by the friendly staff, but the food portions were tiny! We had scallops and a curried monkfish starter each and for the £7 we paid for each dish, although nice, it just was not enough. Same for the main courses; my cod salatimbocca was nice, came with "parmentier potatoes", but instead of a full portion, there were five or six little cubes surrounding the cod. More of a decoration than a the portion of potatoes that one would expect with a main course. At around £16 for the main courses, this was not great. Beautiful presentation and good service from nice staff in picturesque surroundings. This is what is what the two stars are for. We had chocolate brownie, served on a piece of slate (plates are good, slate, not so much) and had to send them back: so dry as to be inedible.

We have travelled from Kent to stay for the week as we do every year, and fancied a change of scenery. On arrival the restaurant was quiet but did not take long to fill up. The service and food was simply fantastic! I had treated the 6 of us to celebrate my parents anniversary and they couldn't say one negative comment. Only one problem was that the 1/2 kilo of muscles didn't seem to be cooked properly, so we asked the kind waiter if he could help us out and cooked another immediately. Very attentive and friendly staff. Thumbs up to the chefs too! Tipped generously!! we will certainly be back here next year!

I am genuinely shocked to find negative reviews at this brilliantly run bistro in my beloved St. Agnes. The location, decoration, ambience and service was superb on our visits. We were a party of three who all chose the Sunday lunchtime BBQ and salad meals and despite having not previously booked, were located a very nice table overlooking Trevaunance Cove and were very well looked after. The food and drinks were of a very high quality and we had a very relaxing time here. So much so that we decided to book and have our last evening meal in Cornwall here on Friday 25th July and once again, we were not disappointed. It was a busy evening but, we did not have to wait long to be served or, to have our meals delivered to us. Originally, I ordered the sea bass but was politely informed a short while after that it has been all taken but, I was offered skate wing instead which I had no problem in accepting. As it turned out, I was genuinely pleased that I had the skate as it was prepared, cooked and presented to perfection and I would not have liked to have missed it!! Incidentally, the cheese-board served here is also amazingly good. My two fellow diners (even though they had finished their desserts) decided to help themselves to my wonderful selection of Cornish cheeses! I have been visiting St.Agnes regularly since 1968 and hope to be able to return to Fitty Pysk for more great dining experiences in future holiday seasons. Well done guys, great stuff and, thank you.

Beware! Menu online is nothing like the one you are presented with when you arrive. There are essentially two menus. One for seafood and another more varied menu for the pub next door. We foolishly thought we could order seafood for some of our party and steak or lamb for the rest. However our only other option other than seafood was chicken. The staff are nice but the wait for any course was ridiculous. When my fancy chicken and mash arrived the mash was cold and tasted like the stuff I was served at school back in the 80's. We didn't bother waiting for dessert. It's all style over substance. Nice location but I wouldn't recommend it. Better to walk up the hill into the village and go to the St Agnes hotel instead.

We were so looking forward to our meal at Fitty Pysk and ended up so disappointed Several diners around us were sending meals back so we began to fear the worst, all we could hear was the waitress telling diners that the chef was fabulous but was often let down by his support staff. We then waited for an hour for our starters ( there were only 5 tables occupied) which were mediocre at best and quite cold The mains were ok when they arrived but by then we were a bit fed up. The icing on the cake was the frequent trips to the bathroom throughout the night for one of our party. There are too many good places to eat and despite the valiant efforts of the young lady front of house Fitty Pysk is not one of them

The bread in the crab sandwiches was not very fresh - probably exposed to the air for too long in the kitchen. Nicely served food and the fish and chips were nice. We were going to have a dessert but none of the 3 choices appealed. Loved sitting on the private balcony, although the sun doesn't get around there at lunch time. Clean loos. Helpful staff. Reasonably priced. Would go again but mainly for the location.

We were warned when arriving that they were busy but we still decided to eat here so the wait for the meal really can't be held against them . The meal was delicious . I had a seafood platter and it was bountiful and extravagant . My other half had the tuna and tempura veg . The meal was fantastic , fresh and couldn't be faulted . With regards to the wait .... We were provided with bread , cheese and olives to help dilute the wine and local ale . Olivia and kerra could not have been more helpful and apologetic . To sum up - great food , great staff , great atmosphere . Will defo come again 5 stars.

A lovely location, very near Trevaunance Cove at St. Agnes. There was a choice of about five starters and eight main courses was plenty enough for us and we enjoyed all the dishes we had. The children are getting older and pushed the boat out so to speak with starters, main courses and desserts. Consequently we spent quite a bit, but worth it for a very nice holiday meal.

We booked to eat here for our last night in St Agnes. It was a limited backboard menu, not sure if that is normal or because it was out of season. There was enough to make a choice. My prawn starter wasn't as described on the blackboard, maybe for the better actually, and poor value for money. My main of Hake was delicious.I think the Fitty Pysk shared something in common with my old school reports COULD DO BETTERThe evening was however made by one of the waitresses who had the most fantastic smile and manner

We'd really been looking forward to a good dinner of shellfish and fish but were met with huge disappointment. The menu was very limited in both starters and mains, the service whilst friendly was a bit hit and miss ad one of the mains looked as though it was a young teenager's first attempt at impressing parents. Decor was an odd mix of twinkly lights, local paintings and no sense of comfort or privacy. We left wishing we had gone to the pub next door.

I wish them luck , but a bit of a shambles. Drinks took way too long to arrive , menu on a non-busy evening had just 3 mains available with more items crossed out than available , crab starter was very poor - looked great but failed to deliver with a filling of plain tasting risotto rice. Roast potatoes served with Hake (?!) they tasted like out of a Toby Carvery..... Washing up room seemed to be right within earshot so ate to a cacophony of cutlery clanging. Will probably give them a second chance if they survive the winter. Nice people though :-)

Superb location overlooking cove in quiet location. Newly decked out bistro has light airy feel. Initial reception was a little odd with a lady paying more attention to her phone ear piece than us and being asked to wait outside the restaurant until they were ready. But we were then allowed to sit and the waiter was very friendly and attentive - and we soon felt relaxed and comfortable. The Cajun prawn starter was juicy and flavourful although a little lacking on spice; the onion soup thick and tasty and the crab arroncini delicately balanced. Steak mains were a little on the tough side; the roast hake was superb with perfectly cooked crushed potatoes, tomatoes & lemon mayo. Aubergine parmiagano had rich flavours and not too cheesy. Tiramisu pudding absolutely scrumptious. It's a fish bistro I know but only one meat and one veggie option seems a little minimal. Beers brewed on the premises were excellent. Meal for four was £130 - with justh a few drinks - no wine. Overall a very enjoyable meal experience.

Absolutely delicious freshly caught fish mean that the menu frequently changes to suit the catch of the day. We had the crab salad and monkfish both delicious with a bottle of Prosecco to wash it down. Some on here are bemoaning the cost but the monkfish was £18 and was a large portion, not quite sure where you'll find monkfish served in a restaurant for that but if you can let me know please do. Restaurant is bright and clean and affords lovely views of Trevaunce Beach. Will definitely return. Oh and there is a very charming, if slightly eccentric waiter there. Kept us amused all evening!

Overall we loved this restaurant. Fresh seafood with the menu based on whatever is caught on the day. We were the only people there when we arrived so chose a sea view table and the service was great. The starter of mussels was the best I've ever tasted and the scallops were also very good. I chose monkfish for a main course and it was so disappointing after the starters. It tasted bland, was chewy, dry and was mostly bone which for £18.50 is poor value for money. The blandness was not covered by a tasteless Mediterranean sauce. My boyfriend had sea bass with clams which by contrast was excellent. When I mentioned I was disappointed with the fish the chef reported back via the waitress that's just the way it is. However the waitress was lovely and gave us a free dessert even though this was not expected. The wine and service was excellent. Overall recommended but suggest checking out Schooners for better value for money and a far better view.

What a transformation from our last vist a year ago. A new, light and airy dining room overlooking the sea and an excellent chef. All the starters (mackerel, sardines, squid, mussels and a mezzo were lovely. The chef came round to ask how the kids wanted their squid cooking! A nice touch. Then my hake was cooked to perfection, ditto the Bream and the John Dory. Local ales and a nice bottle of New Zealand white accompanied the meal. Great service...a thoroughly enjoyable family meal. thanks!

After hearing about a new seafood bistro opening up in St Agnes I was very keen to go along and see as usually we have to drive into Truro from Perranporth to have Seafood. The Location of Fitty Pysk is great as there is loads of free parking and lovely views of the cove in St Agnes. I shared a shellfish platter with my husband as a starter and I must say we were blown away! Each type of shell fish had been cooked in a different type of way and then combined as one on a large platter - it was amazing - particularly the oysters. I had the hake as a main and again was very happy with the great flavours and freshness of the food. The staff were great and very helpful I cannot fault them. Overall I would recommend this new bistro to anyone who loves seafood looking for a relaxed evening out! Good job!

Close to the beach but wildly overpriced for really basic fare and their “artisan gelato” is disgusting. We tried three flavours and they were all terrible, but the chocolate was so atrocious we couldn’t finish it. Ask yourself when the last time you didn’t finish an ice cream was!

On holiday for a week and we visited 3 times. First time was for a drink only, second for an evening meal and thenthirdnfir Sunday lunch. On all occasions, service was friendly, attentive (without being in your face or false) and courteous. Our evening meal was a beautiful piece of grilled haddock in a very tasty sauce with vegetables and potatoes. We also ordered a side of truffled mac n cheese. It was absolutely amazing. Sunday lunch was probably the best I've ever eaten as a pub dining experience and I've eaten a fair few in my 59 years. We opted for the 3 meat version of beef, pork and turkey. The vegetable selection was interesting and perfectly cooked. The giant yorkshire pudding was delicious but for me, the roast potatoes and gravy were the jewels in the very large crown. There was no room for pudding but on our evening visit, we did share the amaretto chocolate torte, which was fantastic 😀. For the quality and portion sizes, I would say The Pityme Inn is excellent value for money.
