Good local pub on the crossroads in Bugle. St Austell 🍺 ales. Food was very good seeing that the chef was off ill. Small car park but plenty of street parking. Would have been 5stars but for the reduced menu. Worth stopping for.

Rooms are basic, shower not that powerful, toilet flusher didn't work all the time. Room window was on main road through Bugle and because it was a hot day / night we had to prop window open with a coat hanger, alot of traffic kept me awake. What made the stay was the breakfast, best I've had in a long time.

Booked this historical place for a short family trip not expecting the world for what we paid and we were not disappointed. If you like the following this place is right up your street: Busy car park, finding a space is pot luck, pub and outside spaces run down and unkept, friendlyish but uncaring customer service, dirty bedrooms and bathrooms most of them desperate for a refurb and a re-stock of the basic supplies and of course the obligatory pumping music from downstairs entertaining the rowdy locals (and that's just the women folk). It's a real shame but needless to say, unless the owner starts giving a toss on how his business is run we will not be staying again.

If you're looking for a 5star hotel and peace and quiet, don't bother. But if you are like me and don't mind somewhere that is not perfect look no further. This may not be a 5star hotel, nor do I expect it to be, but it is a 5star proper boozer with a 10star chef. The entertainment while we are here is a woman named Sophie, better than the majority on BGT. The staff are out of this world, so helpful and accomodating. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves a proper boozer with decent entertainment and appreciates fine food.if I'm ever down this way again I'd try and book here first.

Customer service from all staff we came across was woeful… it’s almost as though they don’t want tourists to stay. Nice room but at £100 per night for the family room I kinda expected that they might at least make the beds and change the towels. Staff all seem to be very inexperienced and not interested in what they are doing. Breakfast is good (when you get it) nut even when telling the manager we had to leave at a certain time and asking how long breakfast would be (he told us 10 mins), 30 mins later we were still waiting which made us late to where we were going. A young lad then came over and asked us what we wanted to order! All very haphazard which is a shame.

This is one of a dying breed of pubs that still operate as pubs. There are tables for food service but it is also still well used a local pub. The beer was well kept and the food was standard pub fare, with a good selection, well cooked and plenty of it. I never really expect to see salad on a pub menu, as it won't go in the fryer, but the salad here was fresh, varied and plentiful. Just don't tell my mates that I ate the salad - just stick to the beer story.

We were staying nearby for a few days, and after day trips I called in a couple of times for a pint. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the pub was warm and cosy with a log burner in use. I did not eat here during this holiday. The Bugle Inn is primarily a locals pub (though it does have rooms), and got quite lively early on Friday and Saturday evening, so if we were planning to eat here we would avoid those nights,

This village pub in the Cornish village of Bugle was probably originally two rooms but is now one open plan area with a lounge area set to tables to the left of the central bar and a more public area to the right with pool table and dart board. Interestingly the pub takes its name from the bugles used in the days of horse drawn stagecoaches and came first as as coach stop, with the village forming later around and taking its name from the former coaching inn. Three St Austell ales were on for our visit in the shape of Tribute , Cornish Best and Hicks and the couple we tried were well kept. We came here to eat and there is a fairly standard pub reasonably priced food menu available and what we had was good for the price. This is a friendly locals pub with good service levels. The only real issue we found is that it’s not the biggest of pubs and it’s difficult to escape the conversation of the locals engaged in vertical drinking around the bar.

Arrived last night as was watching a band at the Eden project (10 min drive away) went to the bar and then shown to our room (family room) it was bright, clean and well stocked with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk etc. After arriving back from concert we had a couple of drinks in the bar felt comfortable with the "locals" it felt like a real country pub atmosphere. After sleeping in the comfiest bed ever, we went down to have one of the best breakfasts I've ever had, you could have anything on the menu cooked how ever you liked. Yes, it's not the plaza and a bit "lived in" but it was clean, warm and i would have no problem staying here again, in fact I will book it if we ever go to Eden project again.

The Bugle Inn is a traditional style property, which was reasonably priced and offered great value. We stayed for two nights in their family room. The ensuite room was very clean and tidy & provided complimentary tea and coffee making facilities and toiletries. Their breakfast menu also offered an extensive and satisfying range from a ‘Full English’ to cereals & toast. We never encountered a problem parking, in the free public car found at its rear but there may be a problem if trying to park during the evening as The Bugles patrons also park there. Staff were friendly & welcoming & did not unnecessarily disturb or hassle you. We stayed here because we were visiting The Eden Project, which was only a short drive away & we were not disappointed for the price paid. Overall pleasant experience and would recommend for a couple of days stay.

We ate here every evening of our stay in Bugle. There is a board of weekly specials in addition to the menu from which you can choose. The leek and potato and macaroni cheese were great. Truth be told we didn't intend to end up at this pub but thankfully the place we were heading weren't serving food (despite advertising so) So we headed to the Bugle inn as it was on our way back to where we were staying at Carbis Wharf. The pub was quiet but friendly and welcoming. We sat and viewed the menu which was standard pub fare. I had the fish and chips as did my other half who is a major Connoisseur of the dish, my dad at the pie and peas, my sister had the medium pizza. I cant recall what the others had but we were all happy with the fresh quality and full from the generous portions :) my sister who is a pizza addict was worried she chose the medium pizza until it came and it was huge! hahaas we had ordered our food on three separate bills there were a slight and i mean slight wait between our meals but the server noticed we were sat together and apologized for the almost unnoticeable wait as he said had he known he would have brought them out together!we enjoyed the food that much we took advantage on their takeaway pizzas at the end of our week and again the food was spot on!The only thing that was even remotely 'negative' was that the car park is on the small side but that is how it is these days.Would recommend, will be back! Thank you!
