Very very rode, unbelievable the bold gay who worked there treated me very badly and he thrown the food and and didn’t say any word to make it clear that this food belongs to my order and then he thrown the sause and hit my hand and told me that is to another one, there were not that much people to say he did that because he had a lot of work he is just an unfriendly guy. I am a tourist and he treated me badly, even if that food nice but this is a bad decision to employee such a people in such a place full of clients from all over the World, not recommended

I have been a patron of fish! kitchen for well over a decade. Today I asked my wife to pick up some cod for futoor (breaking fast for Ramadan) and she came back with what I can only describe as a child portion. My wife even complained at the size and the server claimed “…they are all the same size and this is chunky…”For the money, the fish is without exaggeration half of what I would expect from premium establishments in Central London. For this reason, with regret, I will never be buying from here again. I would urge the manager/owner to visit their competitors to see why. You are screwing your local patrons because you can. Cutting fillets into thirds is ridiculous. I will be sure to buy from others from now on.

Downgraded review as unfortunately quality and service dropped. Waited almost 20 minutes for a takeaway order when the restaurant was near empty and they seemed to have 5 staff behind the counter. Was then served a folded on itself overbattered fish. Chips are good but awful vinegar choice! I know they can do better. Hope they will.

Delicious food and excellent service

My boyfriend and I came here for his birthday. Let me just say our food was excellent! I ordered the Fish! of the day and he ordered the grilled swordfish. The freshness, seasoning and crunch of the fish was utterly delicious. It is most definitely the best fish & chips I’ve ever had. It was my first time tasting swordfish, the texture is comparable to a cross between tuna and salmon. It was delectably succulent, would absolutely order again. We both left full and satisfied, would definitely recommend :))

Very small cod and chips for the price and overcooked. Fish pie very sloppy and undercooked, no golden top and underdone fish. Staff could see we weren’t happy and didn’t offer any make good. Won’t be back

Good fish and chips, portion size is good.

We were very disappointed on our first visit to Fish Kitchen. Both our choices of food were unavailable: we were only advised after we had ordered. The whitebait starter was not crispy, and our alternative choices, hake and chips and sardines with salsa and salad were OK, but not exceptional. A shame, because we were expecting much better.

Hammouya’s chips and Ali’s sauces were unbelievable!!!

The food was 5*, the place is a bit cosy with a strong raw fish smell to my liking. Wouldn't mark them down but better extraction must be considered.

Walked in to a really strong fish smell (yes I know it’s a fish restaurant but this was overpowering) like mackerel or salmon - or as if you were sitting on a trawler. Nice service but food was below average. Chips overly crispy and tasted of old fat. Fish (cod) small and tasteless. Shame as it’s hard to go wrong with fish & chips. Toilets smelt awful too. Left feeling a bit sick. Hopefully it was just a bad night for them but won’t be going back -shame as a cute little place

Oysters were definitely not done right with the presentation, the meat was still attached to the shell and weren’t the best quality. The rest of food was absolutely delicious, the Beurre Blanc sauce was the best I’ve ever had, I did ask for more but they didn’t have anymore as the kitchen was closed. I will definitely be back for the food! I’d give oysters a miss

I was recommended to this restaurant approximately 20 years ago. And every time I went to Kingston hospital I used to see it. This was on a bus and I never stopped to get off. On this occasion I was walking and decided to try it. The waiter was very pleasant and made you welcome. I decided to have a small portion as it was lunchtime and I was having a big meal in the evening. This was plain fish and chips and it was a child’s portion, This also included mushy peas. I also had a glass of the South African Chenin blanc which was very good. As a dessert I had apple crumble. This was one of the best I have ever had. As a result of this my bill was less than £20. Obviously it was not a large piece of fish, but it suited me.

We enjoyed an impromptu lunch sat out in the sunshine with excellent service and delicious seafood. I had oysters to start followed by the scallops … absolutely delicious. Highly recommended & would happily eat here again.

I ordered take away cod and chips for my grandchildren tonight. Very disappointed, tiny piece of cod and lots of chips. We have always ordered take away here, but not again, we used to get a reasonable size fish but this was a joke 👎

Stopped for lunch, had smoked haddock on bubble and squeak with a poached egg, this was very nice, just thought the price was quite on the expensive side. Battered cod and chips was also same price - £17.95

Excellent Fish Restaurant We would just like to say a big thank you for the outstanding service and the excellent food. As fish restaurants go, it may look simple but I can guarantee it’s not, this one is right up there with the best. All fish and seafood is fresh and cooked to the order and on-point!! Our sharing starters were brilliantly cooked. I must mention the dressed crab for our second course, totally blew our mind away. For mains we went for a simple cod and chips, the cod sounds simple to cook, let me tell you, it’s not! The cod for both of us was fried to perfection!! For dessert my wife had a simple vanilla ice cream, that too was also on-point. As for myself, I do like my oysters, I finished with a dozen, they were outstanding and so fresh. I forgot, we washed the lot down with an excellent bottle of bubbly, ending with a couple of calvados and coffees. All-in-All a great experience, compliments to all!

We enjoyed delicious fish and chips lunch. However the it is also a fish restaurant with a lovely menu and you can also order any fish you want from the sister fishmongers next door which is a real treat. I had fried halibut which was fresh, beautifully cokked and with a lovely batter, The chips were crispy and excellent as were the mushy peas. You can equally order frilled fish and all types of seafood. Can't wait to go back

We had booked a table for an anniversary meal. The staff were friendly and the service good. We had oysters which were nice. The Prawn cocktail was very underwhelming and considering it was a fish restaurant really basic, I could of easily done better at home. The fish was dull coloured and nothing special. Not a cheap meal and won’t be visiting again which is a shame. Maybe it’s best for fish & chips

Just back from another lovely lunch at Fish Kitchen in Kingston. As usual we were made welcome by our waiter Sebastian, the food was delicious and the service outstanding.

The freshest fish, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Fairly priced for a quality operation. No frills decor - it’s all about the fish. Friendly helpful staff. Highly recommend

OMG!! I didn't expect the portions to be this big! The fish goujons are succulent and tasty and the portion is massive, last 2 days. Great price. The chips are gorgeous. I'll be going back there for a take away all day long over the rest! Yum!

I have walked past this place numerous times and just thought it was another fish and chips place...boy! How wrong was I. Absolutely amazing fresh fish dishes. We both shared the calamari starter, and trust me it was superb. Not like in most restaurants where it's frozen, this was fresh, tender and tasty. Then my partner had the grilled mackerel and I had the fish of the day, both were delicious. Tasteful and stylish decor inside and extremely clean. Really friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend you go. I will most definitely be back.

The food was nice, we had monkfish and skate from the grill menu, they were cooked well and were tasty. The one thing that brings this restaurant down is the smell. As you head towards the toilet, the smell of fish/stale water is overwhelming.

Had been staying in Kingston for a few days and thought that after eating out every day, we’d have a more relaxed evening and have a takeaway from here. Thought it must be good with it being award winning. While the cod and chips, haddock and chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce filled a gap, I honestly can’t see how this establishment is award winning when there are a number of fish and chip takeaways that I’ve visited that are far better than here. Don’t get me wrong, they didn’t taste bad but I am just confused how it is nearly a tenner for ‘award winning’ cod and chips when it is in all honesty, very average. Don’t be fooled by the price or the award. Ok meal but much better out there.

A group of 9 from work visited here lunch time today for a leaving do. Fantastic service and the food was amazing, so fresh and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this fish restaurant!. Will certainly be returning!

Normally, this restaurant is a favourite. For the last 18 months we have only used its takeaway service because of Covid. Friday 30th we bought fish, chips and salad. What I am annoyed about was that only ONE employee wore a mask properly over nose and mouth. The rest had their masks over the chin. A server hastily repositioned their mask to seat booked customers. Surely Management should require all staff to wear masks properly. Even the store manager wore it under the chin. It may be some time before we return, given the blatant negligence of health precautions.

The food was fresh & tasty, and has great texture

It's delicious, bit expensive. If you're not famished, I think the children's portions are a very appropriate size for a lunch or evening meal!

Much more than posh fish and chips but full menu based around fish, fried or grilled with lovely starters and deserts and full range of drinks.

Been to this fish and chip restaurant a few times and bought fish from the adjoining shop. The service in the informal restaurant and the shop is first class. The fishmongers know all you need to know about fish, and the chef cooks the meal to perfection. However, the owner knows very little about the trade. Only joking, he is the UK’s number one man when it comes to fish. Returned to the restaurant on 8July 2021 and the same high standard still there. Service very good, food very good.

We live less than 30 minutes from Whitby, where the fish restaurant standard is altogether on another higher level. This restaurant was OK but the service was unengaging and the food quality was nothing special. Slightly overpriced too, but expected that for the area. We won't rush back.

What can I say, I'm from Florida, and have never had fish as tasty as what they have to offer here. Absolutely delicious!

Very good specialist neighbourhood fish and chip shop. Prepared to order. Lots of choice of delicious fish: eg squid, lobster, whitebait. Good chips - can be variable quality. Delicious tartare sauce and mushy peas 👌🏻💚🤩🤗 x

After trying every fish’n’chip option near New Malden this one was the best. Since then I’ve been many times and their cod is super tender with light batter and great chips. Best in the area.

Exquisite fish&chips for a take out. Extra star for great service on a Friday night. I liked the fact that the staff were very polite and friendly and my order was ready in under 7mins. Yummy!

Exceptionally disappointing, despite both the website and telephone confirmation that they were closing at 10pm, drove for 10 minutes to find they were closing an hour early. Very very poor customer service on arrival.

Rather disappointing. I haven’t been here for years but fancied some chips this evening, popped down to grab some along as a takeaway with curry sauce and mushy peas. Customer service was great but unfortunately one of the chefs used his finger to push a falling bit of mushy pea back into the bowl, I know chefs regularly wash there hands as I used to be a chef myself but with the coronavirus going around it was somewhat off putting. When returning home and opening my box my initial thought was that the chips were either over cooked or right from the button of the fryer as they were wrinkly and very dry. The most disappointing thing is that there was a hair on my chips, of course this happens but hats or hair nets would prevent this. The portion size was great and the mushy peas fantastic (excluding the finger) but I found the curry sauce to be rather watery. Considering I went here years ago with my father and had a fantastic meal I was somewhat let down unfortunately.

We came for the first time, under the eat out help out, on Monday. We run later and after a few calls we arrive. Table outside that later move inside. Good menu and a variety of fish. The staff are polite and friendly. A good environment.

Arrived for dinner on time, only to be told they did not have a table indoors because a large party had arrived late. No apology or offer of a later table, positively unhelpful. Have always really liked this restaurant and have used it many times, but will think long and hard before returning. Very, very unprofessional and disappointing.The good news is we went 3 doors along to Trattoria Calabrese and found an excellent meal, a delightful waiter and had a Very pleasant evening ( see separate review) . Recommended :-)))

After previously good experiences at Fish Kitchen we were shocked by our most recent treatment. This is a small venue so when we booked we wondered how they would deal with the social distancing requirements. We arrived exactly at the time of our reservation to find (a) the restaurant was as closely packed as in pre-COVID days and (b) there was no table for us. The front of house didn’t even apologise. We left and will not be coming back.

We are outside because of corona and although the staff were lovely and the food delicious, the minute our food was placed on the table, swarms of wasps and flies started flying around us. We ate and ran. Will not return until we can eat inside.

Lovely food, lovely staff and it's a regular place we go to have dinner. Theres parking outside the restaurant and usually after 8.00pm on a saturday it's not crowded.

Our first audit to the area to tick AFC Wimbledon off our list of grounds visited.Excellent 3 course set menu including a beer for under £25.I love the idea that they will cook you any item from the adjoining fishmongers, if only restaurants did the same with an adjoining butchers

I have been going to FISH ! for years and always loved it. Sadly the last few times I have ordered the fish has been chewy, tiny portion, watery mushy peas and the bottom of the pan chips! For £17 I expect a lot more! Will not be ordering again!

Great service. Had the tuna burger and it tastes like meat when in fact its fish! The fries were a little overdone for my liking.

Really lovely place, Tomek who served me (that's what the receipt says) was fantastic. Professional, attentive and smiley, perfect combo for a waiter. Food was delicious, very fresh oysters and my prawns were perfectly cooked.

Delicious fish and really good chips! I'm very fussy about my chips but these cut it.

We passed the restaurant as we were slightly lost and it looked so interesting we sought it out again after shopping. Excellent value for the set menu. Two courses included a glass of house wine. Big portions Sea bass was wonderful. Highly recommend. We also bought some clams from the fish shop next door. Great find. Only watch out is that parking may be tricky. We were very lucky to get a space but it was luck.

Four of us, two couples, went along early(wish) on Saturday evening for a fish dinner. The choice of fish was long and the combination of sauces and sides added to the time it took us to make our minds up.Anyway I chose grilled Haddock with sweet chilli sauce, sort of expecting it to be cooked with the sauce as a marinade but it just came in a separate cup/small bowl. Evenso the fish was delicious; the accompanying salad was a bit on the small side tho as my wife had expected to share some of it! The tempura prawn starters were very good and 4 very large (by UK standards) prawns and the sweet chilli dipping sauce.We were too full for desert but the choice of homemade deserts sounded very nice.Not cheap by fish and chip standards but the quality was very good.

Fried fish is not my thing. But the Borough Market street vendor was on the foodie tour. It's a London staple afterall. I have been ruined for all other fish and chips. Light, flaky, crispy, tender, all the best things when eating street food. But one in our group loved the dish so much, we headed back to its sister restaurant for dinner. Yes, he ordered the fish and chips, again.

After a day out watching the rowing, my appetite was tremendous. I was famished. Bedazzled by the fabulous F shining forth from the window, I approached this fish n' chip shop with great expectations. At first, I was greeted warmly by a lovely Balkan fellow in the kitchen, and he called the waiter's attention, who swiftly had me seated. I ordered Lobster with a side of curry sauce, with which I drenched my new crustacean friend. I inhaled the soft, juicy lobster flesh. I then followed with a lovely bowl of samphire and a kids' haddock, which was gobbled up. All was good; a sumptuous banquet for one.However... I was due to enjoy a dessert but we all know mother nature, she doth call at the most inconvenient times. This was when my evening took a turn for the worse. Unfortunately, dwelling in the toilet bowl was a large fecal deposit, which I must add strongly resembled the kids haddock I had enjoyed mere moments before. Repulsed, I deposited the contents of my stomach into the toilet bowl to create something likely resembling the fish soup I had considered ordering. I am absolutely repulsed by the sheer lack of hygiene displayed in this instance. I shall not be returning in a hurry.

After thoroughly enjoying the fish and chip takeaway on several occasions, we really wanted to try the restaurant and were not disappointed.The service was great- very friendly and quick, as well as very attentive. As we visited on a Thursday evening, the set-menu was available, which was great value. However, we decided to treat ourselves to the a la carte, so we could choose exactly what we wanted. I had the crab to start and sea bream for the main, both of which were delicious. My fiance has the whitebait and the biggest fish pie I have ever seen in a restaurant for his main.....and of course we had to have a side of the yummy chips (which wasn't needed, but we were just being greedy!)There was also a great choice of wines, available by the glass and the bottle, which were reasonably priced.We had a lovely evening and can't wait to visit again!

I randomly came across Fish! Kitchen in Kinston following a Google Map search of the area and didn't make the connection to the Fish! I had visited some 3 weeks ago with friends at London Bridge. I was here on business on my own and wanting a bite to eat. What a find! Great fish, super wine and fabulous staff. All of them were great, special mention to Michael who was over from the Borough restaurant, who shared some happy memories of London some 20+ yrs ago with me. I will be back very soon.

Ive been here a couple of times. Food is really good, service great, staff great, and very reasonably priced. I really enjoyed lobster and chips.

Back in the day when Fish! first came to these parts, the quality was exceptional, and it justified the high prices. But now, sad to report that if, like me, cod/haddock/plaice and chips are your thing, you'll find better quality in other fish & chip shops, even in local pubs. And all at a much lower price than the fifteen quid Fish! charges.

Staff knew everything about the food and drinks even suggested one I had not tried before. Lovely and delicious starters mains dessert and drinks..... second time there sure I will go again and again
