The title says it all - the best fish & chips in town. Can be busy sometimes, so can end up waiting a while, but it's worth it! The best fish & chips in town hands down!

Passing and fancied some chips and cheese.... I’ve not tried the fish, however, the batter looked seasoned properly, which is a big thing as I can cook ok myself... the chips are the best in the town. Unreal. Just go and see. Very very reasonable, and they have a restaurant if you take your little ones during the evening. Ignore the negatives, honestly it’s great.

Situated on an industrial estate, the clean, comfortable, spacious seating area is a complete surprise ...... a very pleasant one at that. The front area is clean and bright, as is the seating area so this is more than just your average chippy. The small fish and chip portion is just perfect with a lovely light batter on the fish and crispy, fluffy chips - who knew?! The staff were very pleasant too, we'll definitely visit again.

Went here for the first time in and really enjoyed the chicken and chips and my son e his hair fish and chips. Will go back again soon

Sat in the restaurant to eat the fish and chips. Lovely food. I would even go as far as to say the best fish and chips I've had for a long time. Nice modern, clean restaurant. Good music. Relaxing environment. Costs the same to eat in as to take away. Good service. What more can I say! Will be back soon!

You can take away or eat in the restaurant area at the back. There’s also some benched tables outside. Very clean. Plenty of parking spaces with a few for disabled. The food is great. With a nice choice of set meals on the menu. One or two have a discount for OAP. Staff are friendly and helpful. If sitting in to eat, you have to go into the shop and order.

Smart looking place,quite clean, food not bad, when ever i visit a restaurant i expect to pay for the food but not expect it to be served in paper trays and uht milk. First and last time.

Although I go to football matches regularly up and down the country, I rarely review any eateries I visIt as usually there is not much to review! However Fish Hut is the exception to the rule and I am sure local Burton supporters will know all about it. I came across Fish Hut by accident whilst looking for somewhere to park. It is located on a light industrial park about a 5-10 minute walk from the ground. It is a fish and chip shop with a spacious, spotlessly clean restaurant attached. You order at the counter so essentially pay takeaway prices and the top class staff bring the food to you. I had a lovely pie, chips and cup of tea in the warm and comfort for less than I would have paid inside the ground. Even if the football does not lure me back to Burton a future visit to Fish Hut will!!

What a great place this is in burton upon trent, just off a38 Fantastic fish and chips, huge portion, much better than my local fish and chips, lots on the menu, scrupulously clean restaurant, you can even get a beer or wine with your meal, highly recommend

Hi ordered over phone for collection tonight and had lovely fresh fish and chips for two perfectly done to the collection time, friendly staff nice and clean, very happy, batter n chips seem to be really taste at mo and fish was so juicy, best fish and chips we've had in ages

Excellent fish, chips & mushy peas. Best gluten free chippy in the area. Just a shame that the gluten free options are only on a Monday. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food is tasty and plentiful. The premises are clean and tidy. Will definitely be back again 👍🏻🙂

I had lunch here prior to watching Bristol Rovers get beaten 1-0 at Burton Albion and the meal made the trip partially worthwhile. I had their 'Fish and Chip Supper' special (in my case haddock chips and mushy peas) and was expecting a small portion. How wrong I was! I have a healthy appetite for a 62 year-old but I had difficulty eating it all (although I did). With a cup of tea - £4.80. Initially they overcharged me as the staff member didn't realise that 'Add a drink for 85p' included hot drinks but there was no unpleasantness when I pointed this out. By the way, the quality of the food was top-notch.

Visited for the first time since under new ownership. A vast improvement. I chose a large Plaice in batter and it was a giant of a fish. It filled the plate. It tasted of the sea and I would go as far to say the best Plaice that I have ever tasted. Cooked fresh to order, so delicious. Chips not greasy at all and more than enough. Wife had scampy and utterly gorgeous. Since new ownership the prices have come DOWN, yes down and the quality raised. Incredible. Best fish restaurant in Burton upon Trent. A real treat.

Called on a visit to the Brewers football ground 300 yards or so from the ground had a TAKE AWAY Fish Supper and I must say they were the best fish chips and peas I have had for ages they were piping hot tasty and very filling, the lady serving and the fryers were excellent Thanks Can't wait till next season, shame about the football score Brewers 1 Donny 0

Went here after a game at burton ground as it’s just a few minutes. The cod was stunning and all food excellent and staff lovely Cod and chips in the restaurant a fiver Seriously it’s a little gem and we will def be going back

Just had a meal at Fishhut Burton on Trent. Really impressed, quick service, lovely and clean and staff very friendly. The Fish was superb and the chips fabulous as ever. Can't believe how quick we were served. I would recommend the Restaurant, people really need to go and try it after the change of ownership.

We have eagerly awaited the alterations happening at the Fish Hut and yesterday we finally found it open for business, what a surprise however, please don't judge this place until you have been there yourself, this is my personal review. Having spent many happy hours eating their delicious food and being served by polite, smiling people. We, as was usual for us nodded to the people cooking and walked into the restaurant at the back, we had barely settled when the young lady came to us - she recognised us having been many times before, but she imparted information which alas means we will not be going back. They have replaced the table service, with a version of self service. There is no longer any menus on the table, or condiments - there is an alcove to the left of the room which now house cutlery etc. It can no longer in my eyes be called a restaurant there's nothing to distinguish as such, there's no music, no atmosphere and no table service. She told us that they had 'done away with plates' and basically, one has to queue up at the front order what you want and take it into the rear ex-restaurant to eat it if you wish to eat in. What was (to me) an oasis, a little unexpected gem in this industrial site has now become a fast food place. I am sure it will appeal to people in a rush or working on the industrial estate, or going to the football ground before and maybe even after a match, I think it is still licenced, so there's the option of having a drink after work. By the queue when we arrived and the appetising smells coming from the fryers, the change for most will probably make no difference at all. And we wish them every success. Personally we don't like eating out of a carton with a wooden or metal fork, but we are only 2 person in many.

Called in with my wife together with son and daughter in law. Had previously had takeaway when under different management. Nothing to write home about but up to date reviews look better so thought "Give it another chance" Really glad we did - my wife and I ordered small fish and chips whilst daughter in law and son odered large. Ours were served first and we all thought they had made a mistake and these were the large ones. We were wrong - the large ones were served up and they were - large that is and plenty of chips . Two of the party had mushy peas and said they were excellent. The whole meals were excellent value for money and served in a most pleasant manner.

Lovely fish and chips,the batter was light and not very greasy and the chips were perfect.Was worried about using our Groupon voucher as we've had very mediocre food as 'Groupon customers' but this place was amazing,and we shall be back.

Stumbled on Fish Hut on a match day last year and thought it was very good and friendly, so much so that I went back again this week when back in Burton. Layout seems to have changed, with a modern interior for the takeaway. Ready cooked food on display looked a bit dry so I ordered a fresh piece of haddock, chips and mushy peas and it was all served with a smile and tasted delicious. Clearly others not so impressed and I haven't tried the restaurant at the back.

We were ignored for the first 15mins and had to walk over a member of staff to ask to order he then told me that they were under staffed but they had 3 people working and only 14 customers in the restaurant. We were then told they had ran out of haddock (at 12.45 on a Saturday) and the card machine wasnt working. The fish and chips then took a further 20mins to arrive. Which was actually pretty good.

I've used this Chippy for a while as it's the nearest one open on Sunday. Always had a long wait for pre ordered takeaway, but the last visit took the biscuit. 1hr 25min wait and food still not ready do walked out & went to the Ruby Chinese. Won't be visiting this Chippy again.

After sitting down in the restaurant after 40mins the food still wasnt with us. We decided to walk out and go elsewhere. We were not the only ones who had such a long wait and couldnt understand what the problem was as we did not order anything special. The takeway which i have had before was good but wouldnt go back to the restaurant part

Chips were good...I like mine golden brown and crunchy. The fish was over cooked and not at all tasty. The batter was too crunchy and the tail end chewy. The mushy peas were nice.

We've ordered here a couple of times as it's not far from our house, but I feel like we won't be returning again after trying to give it the benefit of the doubt once too often! Very expensive for a chip shop, you wouldn't mind paying extra if the quality of the food was good, the chips are nice, the fish is just a soggy mess not and the sauces taste.. weird? There's always a huge wait and nobody ever looks like they truly know what they're doing and it seems like it has such a high staff turnover, maybe due to the disgusting manner the owner speaks to the staff!! Much better chip shops to go in the area.

My daughter called in en route from work to pick up GF fish & chips. As they were cooked from fresh, there was an understandably short wait but it was well worth it as both the chips & especially the light gluten free batter on the cod was a joy to eat. See you again soon!

We really love the fish and chips here and the staff are always friendly, however, the place needs a good clean. I do not appreciate dead flies on the window sills or greasy fingerprints on glass partitions. It would also be a good idea to stand the vinegar bottle and salt pots in hot soapy water once a week - they are really greasy.This place could be a gold-mine but you never can tell how long you have to wait -seems restaurant customers are left waiting whilst takeaway customers are served. Perhaps more staff are needed.Come on owners get your finger out and get yourselves sorted!!!

Have eaten here many times and it's always been good food. Mini cod with chips and peas with a pot of tea. Very nice!

Had a delivery from here and the food took ages to arrive. Food was average and although the scampi was nice unfortunately I found a small hair on one piece which was off putting. Very disappointing.

Staff hadn't a clue what they were doing including manager. Chips were disgusting, large cod was awful and not large at all. And the mushy peas were just green water. Never again! £8:30 wasted. Go at your peril. They call it seaside fish and chips. I would call it Canal side fish and chips without the capital C.

Why would you go here. Four times I have been, the service is rubbish, the staff have no idea what they are doing, the food is poor, they haven't got what you ask for and you have to wait for ages. Please go to Wetmore fish bar.

I have eaton in 3 times with my children whilst visiting burton and never had a complaint! Always had small fish and chips, which has been perfect everytime! Restaurant lacks a bit of atmosphere but food and service been great for me!

We arrived around 8pm and the staff seemed like they didn't want to serve. A lady decided to approach the counter after mumbling to herself and asked what we would like. Her clothes were filthy (like she'd had a food fight), my partner started to order and she just walked off towards a young lad mumbling again so we stopped ordering. The woman just looked at us and said "was there more" so my partner began to order the rest of the food for her to reply "yes" so we took a step back a bit confused, sat down and waited 40minutes with my 7 year old son on a Sunday. We nipped in because we thought it would of been quicker then cooking but this certainly wasn't the case. After 40minutes we stood up to see what was going on, by this point they had served 2 other people with one waiting with us and the other jist ordered chips. The woman waiting with us was waiting to see if the card machine would work as they didn't seem to be 100% sure. Once we stood up there was a young long haired lady right near the burger section in normal clothes which we thought wasn't very hygienic at all. We finally got asked again what our order was and this was finally being put together. The service was slow and the worst I've ever had and the food was OK but nothing great. The food and service used to be so good when the manager was there but its gone downhill. We won't be going back.

dont think they have paid the phone or electric bill to say the least lol took ages to be served.wanted jumbo cod but was waiting on delivery so ended up with cod fish finger things for the same price,peas were cold,we was left in the dark,we went to the bar to pay after 10 minutes we went in the takeaway bit to pay,not impressed at all sadly wont go back in a hurry.plus they only take cash now :(

Went at 1pm on Thursday in Easter school hols and the restaurant was completely empty. Ordered the Jumbo haddock but they didn't have any so was offered a Jumbo cod instead which isn't on the menu. Can't say it was very jumbo as it was smaller than a large cod from my local chippy andt they really need to make the batter a bit lighter . The meal was ok but definitely not Harry Ramsdens. I probably won't go again. A pity as it is close.

Each time I have ordered from here my order has been incorrect with food items missing - staff dont really care and will just have an attitude when you tell them something is wrong and fob you off with a free food item. Why not just get it right first time!Also be prepared to wait a ridiculous amount of time for food. Bit disappointing when it's meant to be fast food.Don't waste your time, I know I will be going elsewhere in future which is a shame as the food itself isn't too bad (although chips have sometimes been cold) I just cannot stand the awful efficiency and waiting a ridiculous amount of time for fish and chips compared to other places.

This plaice has a good seating area and a clean takeaway area. Does look pretty decent. The service is pretty good. Chips are a touch dry but aren't too bad. Overall lacked a wow factor with the food, but I would recommend trying it out.

We have just visited this restaurant, there was no staff present when we walked in. We just sat down and waited ages for an order to be took (1 x waitress). We then waited an hour for our food. To then be told they had the table numbers wrong and given it someone else! They promised it would be with us in minutes.Waited another 5 minutes & 1 dish was served!!we Waited again and no sign of other adult meal or 2 x kids meals! Our kids were starving so we walked out! Will never ever return!

After a very busy day we went to the fish hut for convenience as it was early evening. We had not been before and very surprised clean tidy and spacious tables very pleasant helpful staff extensive choice of menu our meals arrived hot plentiful but not over loaded The taste was fantastic no wet greasy batter on the fish and the chips dry and crisp will definitely call again

I've just returned home with my food order and 2 hungry children- the food is nearly cold and I live less than a 5 minute drive away. I gave my order and after waiting 20 minutes I was then told they could not fulfill half of my order and there were no toys for the children's meals. I can not understand why the staff feel it acceptable to take orders and money for food knowing full well they cannot meet the order. The explanation given was that the manager hadn't turned up with stock...simple, close the restaurant until stock is replenished. Worst £14 I've ever spent and I will not be returning.

Ok so I come here quite a bit but today we decided to eat in the restaurant for a change. So on walking in we were greeted quite nicely and we chose our seat in the restaurant area. It was about 1500 on a Friday, not many in but to be expected at this time of day. We both had the large cod and chips... and as ever they were the best in town, especially the cod, always freshly cooked to order and a real delight. Price was fair and reasonable and the restaurant itself was pleasant. There's plenty of fish choices for the more adventurous diner. The only minor point was the table service was a bit lacklustre and needed a little more energy! We will be back and would recommend!

If you go in for a doner an hour before closing and they say not got much doner left, will add to chicken then fair enough. Just didn't expect only 2 slices of burnt doner!!Unfortunately they were low on chilli sauce so gave me what they had. I walked away in good faith but when I got home.... hmmmm Sorry, but was last chance!! AVOID.... there are much better places in Burton!

A decent fish and chip shop, in a brilliant situation right by Burton Albion FC with lots going for it - spoiled by poor organisation and terribly slow service. Better management could quadruple the number of users.

I will keep this reveiw sort and sweet, don't make the mistake me and a friend made and order food here! Shocking customer service LONG WAIT (that is if they take your order). I am not the person to write a review but this place needed one as it was just so awful.

Went at around 7.30pm one evening. The place appeared to be closing up despite opening hours saying otherwise! They served my friend in front then did not ask if I wanted anything. We obviously got the chips that were left over - ended up chucking them away and going elsewhere. Poor service, rude staff and awful left over chips. Would not go back.

Entered this restaurant via the very busy chip shop take out, (large queues in take out). We sat down at a table offered to us after waiting for someone to show up by a waitress, we sat for a fair few minutes waiting to have our order taken but eventually someone appeared from out the back, we duly ordered all our meals and drinks......... drinks came and we drank them, then we sat, and sat, and sat waiting for our food.... ONE HOUR had lapsed since entering these premises.With no waitress or waiter present in the restaurant I got up and went to the take out section (which still had a very large que) and duly asked the person behind the counter where was our food order....... she looked startled and straight at me and said "it won't be long" my reply was "how long" again she replied "it won't be long". With this I returned to the restaurant told my family to get there coats as we were leaving.Not one person offered to stop us which to me meant NO food had yet been put in for us.This establishment needs to sort itself out before going the same way as its predecessors !!

I'd been promising to take the good lady here. After reading mixed reviews I went with an open mind. I can honestly say it was lovely, the fish was so chunky in the crispiest batter I've ever had. The service was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend a visit, you won't be disappointed. I will be returning.

Welcoming friendly staff made sure we had everything we needed. Good menu selection on offer and they will tailor anything to your needs - gluten free nights are also available. Food was freshly cooked, piping hot and plenty of it. Prices are very reasonable. No complaints at all - will definitely be back.

I reviewed this place when first opened and said it was excellent. Sadly not the case now staffed by rude people who keep you waiting and then when you get home with takeaway, order is wrong this we find this the norm. We now find not only do they keep getting the bill wrong but we twice have been charged for large Cod and given us small chip portions. This is such a shame it appears that they do not care can not believe that they are now so bad we will not go again they do not deserve to be in business foods not as good either fish inferior and battered mushrooms full of oil. how friends and family have given up on them. Have not been in restaurant was going to but if can not get takeaway right not much hope for restaurant so angry that have got to put record straight.

Looking at all the reviews on this place I thought I would get it a bash......And all I can say about the place is that the food is very good but..... they was only 2 other people in at the time and more taking food out. We got our food in good time but feel that in peek times ie weekends service could get very slow. I will be going back for some more fish and chips.

We have been here tonight and the food used to be so good here and service was never the best but now the service is worse than ever !!! , we rang and ordered food and the fish n chips were inedible ( fish was off ) and chips stone cold and rock hard !!! )the last two visits were not as good and the staff and management do not have a clue how to run a takeaway , we complained and it wasn't followed up by the manager , we will not be returning !!!!!

We visited Fish Hut for family tea and was pleasantly surprised with the cost, portion size and quality. I had a very nice kebab which was presented with a bit more finesse than a dirty kebab on a Friday night. The chips were not greasy. We all enjoyed our meals, my son was very impressed with the waiters take on the Belgian waffle dessert, it was humongous! Our waiter worked very hard and was very attentive. We'll be happy to return.

I am so sorry to keep going on about this place but it really is fantastic. The food is of constant good quality, the service is great and the place itself is lovely. The seats are comfortable the whole ambience of the place is perfect. I keep meaning to have something different when we visit and I ahve managed it twice, but still come back to fish and chips with mushy peas - heaven on a plate!

Don't bother going unless you have plenty of time to sit and wait. After waiting 40 minutes (and realising there were still people in front of us yet to be served) we gave up and cancelled our order. Even the drinks (a coke and a pot of tea) took 30 minutes to arrive. Hopelessly under-staffed and disorganised. As it's basically just a takeaway chippy with a restaurant attached how can it take that long to cook fish and chips?

Went here a few days ago with wife and mum and had a lovely meal. Waiter was very cheery and helpful. Starters were excellent, very well presented and lots of it too. Mains again excellently presently and cooked very well. Lots of it too. My wife and mum both stopped halfway through. Desserts are where this place shines. Very very well presented for a chip shop these are out of this world. Top end restaurant quality desserts. Overall a very nice place to go, it was very quiet when we went (as in we were the only people in the restaurant) so can imagine if it gets busy service may suffer. We had an excellent time and will definitely be going back.

First time customer, the restaurant was clean tidy. The food was excellent, the fish fillet was white, so was definitely fresh! The chips and batter were not greasy at all!!! Great place

Just finished work, couldn't be bothered cooking so popped in for fish & chips to take home. Knew they did a gluten free option on a Monday so decided to try and it was fantastic!! Is now hooked, excuse the pun..... Next late finish on a Monday, I know what to get for dinner!

Our first visit to this restaurant is our last.The place looked inviting, but turned out to be hugely disappointing. There were only 4 other diners in the whole restaurant, which was a slight worry, but we selected a table and were anticipating a nice lunch.After taking our order we had a 45 minute wait, where we were able to look in detail at the cleanliness of our environment, which was not very good and watch the staff having extremely loud and public arguments in front of the diners. It was surreal and felt like a 1970's sitcom. Eventually our lunch arrived only then did we discover it was not our lunch but somebody else's, who had arrived 20 minutes after us ! My advice is don't eat here it is rubbish.

We've eaten here as a family a few times recently. On each occasion we have had a choice of seats, because the restaurant wasn't busy, but we may have missed the rush. We arrived around 7.15.The quality of the food is very good but allow yourself time because the service can be slow. On the basis we ordered fish and chips, the same as they serve at the take away counter i don't understand why it takes so long, but it does. When it arrives the portions are generous and the menu is much more than just fish and chips.They have a drinks licence but the selection is small, which is fair enough.Whilst the service is slow, the staff are very friendly which makes it a pleasant experience.One word of warning, last two times we visited they wouldn't accept card payment, so make sure you have cash.

The fish hut is a great restaurant offering freshly made food for a very reasonable price. The giant cod was the biggest piece of fish I'd ever seen. The selection of fish and meat is very good. The portion sizes are generous so you won't be feeling hungry afterwards. The main selling point of this place is the great desserts and selection of ice cream, however when we visited the ice cream menu was very limited. They only had three or so flavours which was slightly disappointing. Overall this is a good restaurant if you want a good meal which won't break the bank,the service was ok but altogether the meal was enjoyable and very filling!

Fantastic fish and chips restaurant which is prices very fairly. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody and I will be returning again soon!

We have been here a few times before going to watch Burton Albion, the food has always has been really nice and it's good value for money. Service can sometimes be a little slow but when we have been it has often been fairly busy so a wait was to be expected. There is a really good range of food on offer which we hadn't seen in other fish and chip shops, including chicken tikka wraps and pulled pork.

We phoned through our order before leaving to collect it. We arrived when they said it would be ready. After which we were waiting at least 20 minutes. It seemed like they hadn't even started to prepare it. On the plus side, they do gluten free fish on certain days of the week, which we purchased. It was one of the nicest tasting fishes we've had, however the wait was very disappointing.

Tried the takeaway last week. The fish and chips were both very greasy with the fish batter very soft. It seemed like the oil hadn't been hot enough. The fish looked a nice piece but had been overcooked so the batter was greasy and the fish mushy. I was also given 2 small pieces of something - i think off another fish- inedibleThe service was slow and seemed inexperienced- the person serving the man in front delivered his fish in 3 pieces

For ages we always bought our fish and chips from the Wetmore Road chippy. But, last time was in there someone recommend this place. The fish was really good and an appropriate size. I was impressed with the range of fish too, although on this occasion we were boring and had cod and haddock. Service was friendly and efficient and we shall certainly be going back. Do not be put off by the location on the edge of an industrial estate, once you are inside you won't notice and the food speaks for itself.

This is the first time I've been back in a couple of month, didn't want to put this last time but because today's service being worse than my last visit, I felt the need to make a comment. I had to wipe the seating area before I sat down who ch is unlike its been in the past. Always immaculate so I hope it's not in decline because it was my favourite local eating house. The waiter isn't that good, I had to repeat myself 4 times, he just plonked the knife and fork on the opposite side to where I was sitting. I asked for lemon with my coke and he bought a thick chunk in a polystyrene cup and it just looked cheap. He sat in the corner of the restaurant eating his lunch & by the speed in which he ate it I thought someone was going to steal his food, he was eating it that fast. Along came the food served by a different far better waiter and he looked a lot younger than the first one. As per the food was excellent (but then again it always is). Just a few things let this great place down and I felt the need to put it on this site and this is something I've never done before but I would hate to see this place go the same way as many others have.

8.15pm stopped for fish and chips only to be told restaurant only open until 8 even though the sign outside says 9pm. Got the impression they couldn't be bothered

Good friendly atmosphere, spotlessly clean and tidy. Staff very helpful and will tailor anything on the menu to suit your dietary requirements.Food freshly cooked, piping hot and tasty (not greasy at all). All orders arrived together and the bill was sensible.No complaints at all, will definitely be back.One night is a dedicated gluten free night too - check with them beforehand as I can't be sure which night.

Only been there for take away but food very good. Mushrooms in batter very nice and Cod best ever. A little on the pricey side but the best fish and chips in Burton. A lot of food cooked to order and you do have to wait for specials but worth the wait. Nice place and very clean. Owner very friendly and keen to please, they got our order mixed up once but did give us bottle of Coke and said they were sorry we were impressed. They have a restaurant that looks nice will give it a try. This is a plaice ha ha we go to quite often and would recommend.

Enjoyed some delicious large cod and chips and cheese burger for a family take out. Very impressed with the quality and size of the fish. Price seemed comparable to other chip shops. Easy parking too. Will definitely use again.

Our 2nd visit, a good 6 months or so after our first. We were blown away the first time we visited here, simply been so long due to lack of time and passing by at the right time. Both times the owner has been extremely welcoming, warm and generous. Giving us free samples to try and generally being very hospitable. We've taken away both times but wish to try the adjacent restaurant. Both times the food was warm and cooked to perfection with just the right portion sizes (not stingy or over faced) in a smart well presented box. Excellent keep it up!!

We were looking for a chip shop open on a Sunday lunch-time and came across the Fish Hut. Contemporary feel from the outside, bright and clean inside. We didn't eat in the restaurant because we just wanted a quick bite to eat. The service we recieved, in my experience was exceptional. Whilst we were waited for our food to be cooked to order, without any prompt we were given a free sampler of 5 or 6 of their menu options, including battered sweet pepper rings and Piri-peri salt chips. All of them were delicious. Whilst we nibbled on these they told us about their vast array of Gelato and several types of fish (without coming over like a sales pitch).The prices were about average for fish and chip shops.We left with our take away - chicken nuggets, pies and chips. All tasted fresh and well made. I wouldn't normally take the time to review a fish and chip shop, but this one was such a surprise and the service was beyond what you get anywhere these days, I decided to make an exception.

A very nice chippy which offered both takeaway and eat in options. What was nice also was the options of food available....anything from pulled pork to steak. We ordered 2 mains but 1 would have been plenty for 2 people. The price was also reasonable too at around 18 quid for 2 mains and 2 drinks. It wasn't busy when we were there...well we were the only ones in the restaurant but can imagine it gets busier at other times of the week. We will defiantly go back, it was a brilliant find.Thank cod we found this plaice.

This is the second time we have eaten here & once again outstanding. From the food to the service. You couldn't get fresher at the seaside, the batter is so light & crispy & the portions are enormous. The staff are so thoughtful & definitely not in your face. The restaurant is lovely & modern & very clean . I would say this is by far the best chippy in Derbyshire. ..many thanks for a lovely lunch leah & mark x

Service can be a little 'patience testing' at times, but they fish and chips are well worth the wait. The fish are normally huge and very fresh tasting, the batter is normally brilliantly crispy too. No soggy bottoms here!The chips are generally high quality too. Good value, good staff (although a little more urgency sometimes would be preferred). Overall best fish and chips in Burton. we have returned several times and never been disappointed yet!

Called at this fish shop prior our match against Burton Albion in December.Minutes walk from the ground and the service was the best we have ever had. The owners were in festive spirit slinging in battered mince pies battered stuffing all as tasters whilst we waited for our orders. Freshly cooked and by eck were they worth the wait.The cod was whiter than the teeth on Towie the chips were amazingly good and the portions were huge.Hand on heart We all would have walked 15 mins for these from the ground.So the championship clubs who venture next year. Put this chippy as a certain 3 points.

Maybe 5pm on a Saturday was the wrong time for take away fish & chips. Ten minutes from entering & watching the staff prepare stuff for the people in front we decided we were not invisible & went back to Stretton. Appalling!

Went inside and discovered an amazing dine in restaurant the staff are friendly and the food was beyond any other chippy. The food cooked to perfection and a service second to non. Highly recommended! will be visiting again and again...

Went in and stood at the counter. There was several members of staff but not one acknowledged us and we just stood there waiting. They seemed busy cooking food for the restaurant but "someone will be with you soon" would not gone amiss. A girl knocked our empty cardboard box on the floor and then pretended to give us a fresh one, however our server swapped it. Do not like the cardboard boxes, esodcially just for chips. Why can you not just wrap them up in paper! Not impressed and would only visut if Wetmore fish bar was closed.

goog interested staff willing to go the extra mile. Fish and chips were hot and fresh to take away. The restaurant area was quiet and that was to be expected given the time we arrived. Portions were not as generous as the main competitor (Happy Chef). Place has potential.
