Really great food and a lovely place to sit and people watch!

Our favourite place to go for a family lunch. Great atmosphere and good food!

I’ll start with the positive thing, which was the food,which was delicious. The negative thing is the employee, who was rude and gave me wrong order, although another one was given, which is a positive point for them, she was angry and arguing about it and claimed that it was my fault that I didn’t mention allergies, although that she was supposed to ask about it (This is the basics of serving customers and I don’t have to teach you that. learn how to serve customers next time, do not let your anger troll you, good day! Edit: Respond 2025-2-3. 5:37Pm Hello again, From the beginning she was supposed to ask if I have any allergies, not vice versa. That what happens usually in the restaurants, so bear that in mind when dealing with new customers . Don’t worry I’ve already decided that earlier:) .

After a day of shopping, we stumbled upon this charming little restaurant on our way home—and what an incredible find it turned out to be! Though it was our first visit, the inviting atmosphere immediately drew us in. We were blown away by the experience. This cozy gem serves the most amazing homemade burgers—fresh, flavorful, and utterly satisfying. To top it off, I had a glass of their homemade lemonade, which was refreshingly delicious and the perfect complement to the meal. Having lived in Belgium for 11 years, a country renowned for its fries, I can confidently say their fries are absolutely outstanding—some of the best I’ve ever had. Every bite was a testament to the care and quality that goes into their food. The combination of mouthwatering dishes and a warm, welcoming ambiance makes this place an absolute treasure. I can’t wait to go back!

It was one of the best burger I’ve ever had, beautifully cooked and great service. Would recommend this place if you want a real burger. Try their hot dog and salami too. Fantastic place. Highly recommend.

The food comes at a reasonable time of an amazing quality and you definitely get your money’s worth, staff are nice and it’s a straightforwards system to order with no hassle. There’s a really played back ambience and has such a peaceful experience

This place is amazing, their classic burger might be the best if not one of the best in Bristol, the guys that work there are very awesome and super friendly. I ordered a Mexican hot dog and shortly after, I decided to change my mind and go for the cheesy hot dog. Not only were they happy to change the order for me even though they made the first one i ordered but they also forgoed the £1 extra my latter choice cost. If in Bristol, this is definitely a hot spot to check out, it is fully halal and they got a lot of vegan options too.

Worst burger I’ve had in 2024. I honestly think the reviews are fake. Prices are high for what it is as well.

We visited here for a quick bite to eat before a gig as it was close to the venue and our transport links. It was quiet which is such a shame but it was early and mid-week. I’m glad though as it meant our food was served super quickly. We both had pizzas and I was pleased you could choose your own base. The pizzas were super thin but not lacking in taste at all. Really nice, fresh flavours. The mac n cheese pizza was a nice twist (we recommend the mustard base!) Our server was super friendly and helpful. There is seating upstairs and the toilets are in the lower ground floor down another flight of stairs so worth considering if you have accessibility issues.

I went with my 4 year old. I had the garlic and herb chicken burger + fries and chocofilled churros and he had a junior burger + fries and peanut butter milkshake. The fries were perfectly salted and crispy. I enjoyed my burger. The churros were ok. I felt the milkshake was a little watery but my son enjoyed it. We sat upstairs - it was well decorated, not noisy and spacious. The server was friendly and welcoming. I'm not sure if it was because we were both really hungry but I felt our meal took a while to arrive (We were told 15 - 20 mins though).

They have great vegetarian and vegan choices, like the Halloumi Wrap, so everyone in my group was able to find something they loved. Their drinks menu is just as diverse, with refreshing options like Lemon Iced Tea and indulgent milkshakes. To top it all off, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Whether you're looking to sit in and enjoy the cozy vibe or grab something to go, Firewood is perfect for any occasion. If you're in Bristol and craving good, hearty food, Firewood is a must-try! I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

Came here because of the good reviews. Food was flavourless. Ordered a variety of food - peri peri chicken burgers, beef burgers etc. Burgers had enough salad toppings but patties were flavourless and had little or no sauce. Food was expensive too. £15 for basic burgers with fries and a can of drink. £2 for each sauce! It took a while for the food to get to us too.

So so sooooooo BAD. I could not eat the food. £10 for a vegan hot dog, one slice of gherkin, bone dry brioche, I had to go and ask for mustard. Even that did not improve the car crash that was on the plate. Totally inedible. The staff response to my complaint: "Yeah, we don't like the taste of the vegan options either, why don't you order a beef burger next time"* *Customer service award winner 2024 This response gave some LOL light heartedness to what was overall an expensive, disappointing, utter rip of. Food clearly made with zero care and zero attention to quality or customer satisfaction. Most disappointing. No wonder the place was empty (my error for going in for a quick bite - won't ever be repeated).

The place was lovely and amazing service but however I don’t recommend this to anyone who has a weak stomach as I don’t have one but I was sick after eating their food for the first time and I had extreme stomach pain me and the people I went with.

Great clean place, halal food with nice beef burgers and chicken. It was nice and clean which is a big plus when looking for somewhere to eat. Upstairs has a great view. Really lovely friendly service, Denisa at the front took great care of us and was a fantastic host!

We tried a hot dog and chicken rice. Each was delicious and satisfying. The hot dog had a juicy sausage with tangy toppings and the chicken rice was tender and fragrant. Great options for quick, tasty meals.

A restaurant serving halal meals in Bristol

I’ve never actually dined in as I’m from Northampton originally. I came to visit my friend in Bristol for Iftar. We booked a table and they said to come and walk in. Unfortunately they had a hiccup and rang me directly. It was a courtesy call and said they are closing it early and to come tomorrow. Whoever called me that day, thank you so much otherwise I would have waited outside and wouldn’t have opened my fast on time. Thank you so much. Next time I’m down, I will try this. The service is really good for someone who hasn’t dined in.

My severely autistic 15yo is always open to trying new foods (unusual for an autistic child); he has walked passed this place a few times and was really tempted to try. I’m so glad we did as the food was absolutely fantastic, excellent portion sizes and healthier than certain other burger places in town. The atmosphere upstairs was very cosy and welcoming and the staff were amazing, very accommodating and friendly. We don’t live in Bristol but next time we visit, we will definitely be returning to the restaurant. Very highly recommend!

Firewood is a nice cosy place for both intimate and a gathering of friend to grab some great finger food! I went for the burger and the quality was top notch and their chips were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Definitely recommend this place to all people Halal, Vegan friendly too!

The food taste great with excellent seasoning of the chicken. However a £12 chicken burger is ruined by 10p fake cheese, and similar cheese is used in the MAC n Cheese

Food was warm and came out relatively timely. The meat was good quality and was flavoured well. The iced tea was not sweet enough and there was no salt, pepper or napkins on the table. The place was playing covers of popular songs and was empty. Food feels slightly overpriced for what it is but we cannot deny the meal was cooked well and tasted homemade. The salad had iceberg rather than romaine or gem lettuce which brought it down a bit.
