I recently visited Firewood in Bristol, and it instantly became one of my favorite spots for comfort food. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with warm lighting and rustic decor that makes you feel right at home. The menu is incredibly diverse, offering everything from juicy burgers to thin-crust pizzas and loaded fries. I opted for the Garlic & Herb Chicken Burger, and it was absolutely delicious—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are super reasonable. I also tried the Loaded Fries with garlic parmesan, which were indulgent and packed with flavor. What impressed me the most was the variety of options for different dietary needs. They have great vegetarian and vegan choices, like the Halloumi Wrap, so everyone in my group was able to find something they loved. Their drinks menu is just as diverse, with refreshing options like Lemon Iced Tea and indulgent milkshakes. To top it all off, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Whether you're looking to sit in and enjoy the cozy vibe or grab something to go, Firewood is perfect for any occasion. If you're in Bristol and craving good, hearty food, Firewood is a must-try! I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

Came here because of the good reviews. Food was flavourless. Ordered a variety of food - peri peri chicken burgers, beef burgers etc. Burgers had enough salad toppings but patties were flavourless and had little or no sauce. Food was expensive too. £15 for basic burgers with fries and a can of drink. £2 for each sauce! It took a while for the food to get to us too.

So so sooooooo BAD. I could not eat the food. £10 for a vegan hot dog, one slice of gherkin, bone dry brioche, I had to go and ask for mustard. Even that did not improve the car crash that was on the plate. Totally inedible. The staff response to my complaint: "Yeah, we don't like the taste of the vegan options either, why don't you order a beef burger next time"* *Customer service award winner 2024 This response gave some LOL light heartedness to what was overall an expensive, disappointing, utter rip of. Food clearly made with zero care and zero attention to quality or customer satisfaction. Most disappointing. No wonder the place was empty (my error for going in for a quick bite - won't ever be repeated).

Quaint place ,good burgers , order front ,seating upstairs ,i had a cllassic burger no fries , it was nive and tasty but wish it was sligjlty bigger parents had other menu items but i was satisfied with what i got ,

Nice central location. Seating upstairs. Nice decor. I ordered a double beef burger and my son got a pizza. The meat was juicy and delicious. Portion size was very decent. Would recommend a visit.

The place was lovely and amazing service but however I don’t recommend this to anyone who has a weak stomach as I don’t have one but I was sick after eating their food for the first time and I had extreme stomach pain me and the people I went with.

Great little shop to come and eat the gelato was delicious. I had the caramel honeycomb, but ate it so fast that I forgot to take a picture.

5/5 would highly recommend , food is Halal and lots of vegan options too ,nice aircon inside ,lovely booth seats. Had a lovely time today , ordered a couple junior burger meals alongside some mozzarella sticks and double chocolate ice cream. Front of house lady had excellent service and very helpful and quick.

We tried a hot dog and chicken rice. Each was delicious and satisfying. The hot dog had a juicy sausage with tangy toppings and the chicken rice was tender and fragrant. Great options for quick, tasty meals.

Great clean place, halal food with nice beef burgers and chicken. It was nice and clean which is a big plus when looking for somewhere to eat. Upstairs has a great view. Really lovely friendly service, Denisa at the front took great care of us and was a fantastic host!

Two generous, delicious mains and sides plus drinks for GBP 28 - proper, hot chili, crunchy chips, great burgers, and lovely staff. Definitely worth 5 stars.

A restaurant serving halal meals in Bristol

I’ve never actually dined in as I’m from Northampton originally. I came to visit my friend in Bristol for Iftar. We booked a table and they said to come and walk in. Unfortunately they had a hiccup and rang me directly. It was a courtesy call and said they are closing it early and to come tomorrow. Whoever called me that day, thank you so much otherwise I would have waited outside and wouldn’t have opened my fast on time. Thank you so much. Next time I’m down, I will try this. The service is really good for someone who hasn’t dined in.

My severely autistic 15yo is always open to trying new foods (unusual for an autistic child); he has walked passed this place a few times and was really tempted to try. I’m so glad we did as the food was absolutely fantastic, excellent portion sizes and healthier than certain other burger places in town. The atmosphere upstairs was very cosy and welcoming and the staff were amazing, very accommodating and friendly. We don’t live in Bristol but next time we visit, we will definitely be returning to the restaurant. Very highly recommend!

have been here fourth time now the food is amazing. once they made special mac and cheese with spicy beef/ sauce according to my taste. the staff is very kind and supportive.

Firewood is a nice cosy place for both intimate and a gathering of friend to grab some great finger food! I went for the burger and the quality was top notch and their chips were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Definitely recommend this place to all people Halal, Vegan friendly too!

The food taste great with excellent seasoning of the chicken. However a £12 chicken burger is ruined by 10p fake cheese, and similar cheese is used in the MAC n Cheese

Food was warm and came out relatively timely. The meat was good quality and was flavoured well. The iced tea was not sweet enough and there was no salt, pepper or napkins on the table. The place was playing covers of popular songs and was empty. Food feels slightly overpriced for what it is but we cannot deny the meal was cooked well and tasted homemade. The salad had iceberg rather than romaine or gem lettuce which brought it down a bit.

Got lazy on christmas eve. Must say we ordered 3 burgers and all were super tasty and awesome! Thanks to the team working there this eve! Only suggestion would be to toast the bun and maybe try a medium/mature cheddar instead of the american style cheese. Cheers guys

Wow what a hidden gem, this place should be on a map of great food and service. The guy who served us was so polite and accommodating it made it a great experience. And most of all the food was absolutely delicious, we had a breakfast before getting our coach and it was sooo good I just want to try everything on the menu now. So it's going to be my new goto for great food when I get back to Bristol. Not greesy, well propared, arrived hot and even plating made the food look amazing. The standard of ingredients was top notchx can't express how happy I am with this new find. Looking forward to trying the burgers next.

Stopped here whilst working in Bristol on a very quiet Tuesday night. The staff were very friendly and the seating area upstairs was nice and clean. My Regge burger with fries and a soft drink can came to £14. Really good burger, with real meat patties (as opposed to processed). Great for quick, casual food.

Would have been good, but I ordered a meal and they charged me separately for the fries and burger so I payed an extra £4.10. I pointed it out straight away, but they said it was too late and they wouldn't refund. The boss was called and he said no. The staff said they were under instruction, not to tell people that the meal deal was cheaper... even when I asked, is there a burger meal? As you can see from the response, below they don't care. I actually asked if there was a burger deal with chips and they pointed out paying for the none deal option. There was no one in the shop. I was about to order a second for a friend when I noticed the deal taking a pic.

The food at firewood was flavoursome and memorable, from the burger and chips to the sauces. Ali created a great customer experience would definitely come again.

The food is delicious with big portion

I visited the restaurant today, they were so friendly and nice, I was carrying all my luggage with me so they kindly offer to set up a small table downstairs for me. The burger was excellent, flavoursome, you can taste is not from frozen, all with fresh ingredients, so nice with all the veg, also the chips super good. It had been a very stressful day for me and they just made my day. I would definitely recommend!

My partner and I were left waiting for a coach and decided it was be good to stop for a bite to eat. Firewood being just next door we decided to give it a try and to say is was amazing would be an understatement! We had ordered the mac and cheese thin pizza as we had not heard of the combination before, it was cooked perfectly with the best cooked mac and cheese on top of it. We had also ordered a plant based thin pizza and again the tastes and combinations of everything went together so well. It was like every flavour we had melted in our mouths. To accompany the pizzas we had two of the cans and fries, the fries were crispy but soft on the inside which is a good way for fries especially with the lightly salted taste. I would definitely recommend their food as well as their customer service, really friendly and made it all a welcoming experience.

Would not rate this place stopped here as had sometime to spare so decided to grab a bite to eat ordered the loaded rice upon a little wait waiting for my food for it to then turn up the rice boiling but my chicken luke warm up on letting the staff know the one member of staff turned very rude and abusive made out i was lying i said you can feel it for yourself he said im sorry iv chucked it in bin by now my coach was due shortly would not issue me with a refund & demanded i was lying and that i had to wait 15/20mins for a new one, i would not recommend this place at all id rather go to mcdonalds which is close by, awful service and attitude by staff food is also very overpriced

I don't know if I caught them on a good day or it was just luck because, after reading a few of the most recent comments I was very hesitant to take the plunge, and I am so glad I did. I don't have a car and it was way too cold to be trudging around in town and I was literally only 6 minutes away from it, and conveniently I was really craving American diner food, yes it's a bit pricey but my god! The bloody double burger I had wasn't slipping and sliding all other the place ; but instead it was holding still, staying put, keeping it together. And the fries... IT. WAS. JUST. WHAT. I . NEEDED. It did not have the nasty skin on the fries like Five Guys but it was just how I liked it ~ mildly salty and soft in the inside. I tell you to go. go now.
