Filling Station Cafe in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Called in for a pasty with my wife on Saturday afternoon whilst on holiday here in a neighbouring village, Bolingey. Unfortunately, they had sold out of all pasties but........ fortunately as a second choice. I had the best chickenTikka baguette I have ever had, anywhere! Plenty of deliciously spiced chicken tikka meat with mint mayo, with loads of fresh lettuce, red onion, tomato and lettuce which was also delicious served in a fresh baguette. I had a fantastic Americano too and together it was a truly excellent lunch. To be honest I enjoyed my lunch so much I can't even remember what my wife had for hers! Must've been good though as there were no scraps left for me! Called in again on Sunday for a quick bite but it was very busy and I had to give in to my hunger and walk to a neighbouring cafe! I will definitely call back in before we leave for home later this week. Had a great chat with (Dave?) the proprietor whilst we had lunch there on Saturday and he is a very personable guy.

What a lovely friendly guy 👦. Popped in few days ago, owner had sent a staff member home & he was doing 10 jobs at once. Even his mum was helping out in kitchen. Came down last Sunday and had breakfast in your place. Food was ok. Your bacon could have knocked someone out it was that hard. The young lad needs re training on customer service. Was rude never smiled once and made us feel so unwelcome in your establishment. Wasn’t happy. If this is how all tourist gets treated not good. The black pudding and rest of food was brilliant. Thank you for that. When I tried to complain about the bacon the lad wasn’t interested

Great local business, right on the highstreet. Jack makes a great coffee and is a lovely young lad. Excellent food and drink selection, plus they open before 9 which is great when you're an early bird! Thanks to the owner, and Jack, for the top class hospitality and fayre.

Absolutely loved this place. Such a great atmosphere and professionalism. The owner was engaging and humorous. Always had a story to tell. Delicious food. Throughout the week we had the advocado/bacon baguette, brie, cranberry and walnut baguette, Tuna mayo and prawn marie jackets, always with clotted cream teas. Perfect. Should be Michelin starred!!!

Always pop back in to see Dave and the team! Never disappoints. Coffee is amazing and the foods to match. Will always eat/drink here when we can.

Very poor value. Paid £6.30 for a bacon sausage and black pudding sandwich. It was no bigger than my palm and had 1 sausage in it.

Been coming back year after year. Their salads and baguettes are great. Wide range of generous fillings. Always friendly service.

Went here a few times whilst on holiday in Perranporth. Nothing bad to say absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Breakfast came out piping hot and was reason priced. Staff lovely. Takeaway cream teas and pasties are to die for

We started our walk to the Oritary via this lovely little cafe. Dog friendly was very handy and we were soon sat enjoying great coffee and sausage and egg baps. All tasty and set us up for the day. The place has seating outside as well as in and the staff were superb and thank you for putting up with our three slightly mad pooches!!!

We visited multiple times during may half term. It is a stones throw from the beach with lots of options and even prepared to make sandwiches not on the menu for your more picky of small children! It was reasonably priced and kept us going on our days out at the beach!

Fantastic cafe, caters for vegetarians, owner has a great sense of humour, really made us laugh. Happily catered for my fussy autistic children. All 4 of us enjoyed our meals.

Wonderful food and great service. Couldn’t do enough to help us with elderly in laws. Delicious paninis, great breakfast sandwiches and comforting back potatoes were crowd pleasers with the whole family. Thank you and enjoy your break at the end of the season!

Great bacon / breakfast cobs with good quality ingredients. Our stop was made even better by being in the beautiful morning sunshine whilst sat outside. Great for quick bites / breakfast and a very attentive host.

The steak pasties are the best in Cornwall

A piece of heart is in Perranporth and this is the perfect spot for a bite after a trip to the beach. Great food, great staff, were lovely with my little boy - all round proper job.

Really lovely cafe for breakfast! Affordable with good portion size. We met up with family that were on holiday here over the last few days and we all enjoyed our breakfast.

We popped on for a bite to eat and drink. The owner/staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. They recommend the steak pasty for my husband which he said was nice. I had the cream tea. Which although okay for price, I found it a little dissaponting. (very small supermarket bought scones) This was a real shame as they were so lovely here. It would certainly not put me off revisiting or recommending, I would just choose an alternative snack/meal. Indoor and outdoor seating, clean, family friendly, disabled access and top service.

Stopped in with our dog for a brew and a bacon and sausage bap. Great well priced food and gave our attention seeking dog loads of attention and chicken.

Stopped by while travelling through the town and opted for a vegetarian breakfast. The lady serving was lovely very polite. The food was unfortunately not as good as anticipated on an empty stomach. Issues were it was all over the place in terms of heat and cooking. Hash browns were virtually raw, pale in colour zero crunch more bendy, beans were not hot just warm and eggs were cremated. We had two of these and two coffees for £17. I don't feel anyone is testing the food and could benefit from a staff tasting session to see through the customers eyes what's being delivered. Make staff pay too so the full experience is felt and raise/address issues if any arise. Personally I am insistent on food being hot some may be ok with it not just my opinion. Parking outside was convenient.

My partner and I stopped here on the off chance with our baby in a buggy. We were greeted by a lovely member of staff who cleared/cleaned a table for us and made room for our new borns buggy. We had a couple of really tasty pasties (partner is Cornish and they were some of the best she has had), 2 large hot drinks and a couple of cold cans for the heat, all for under £20. First lunch experience in Perranporth and what a result. Four panninis and coffees, fresh ingredients, prepared perfectly and greatly received. The service was excellent and swift,with excellent value for money. A big well done and we will be lunching there again for sure.

Very poor quality sandwiches, and the young girl serving was rude. I ordered a chicken and avacardo sandwich on brown bread, it was dry, no butter or mayo and the sandwich was stuck to the paper it was wrapped in. It cost £4.20 and definitely not worth it, go across the road to the coop instead

Not been to this place meself but lucky enough had family members bring us a pasty back from there holidays and it’s probably one of the best pasty’s I’ve ever had, probably not to everyone’s taste but had to had beans and gravy to mine, each to there own!

Just bought a baguette and there’s hardly any filling in it, might be worth changing name of business because this wouldn’t fill my 5 year old.

Just popped in with family, 2 pasties, 1 toasted teacake. Teacake had consistency of a Frisbee, 2 pats of butter didn't cover it. Neither girl showed interest as busy discussing plans for Christmas, and fighting as one of them comes from Manchester and feels she is invincible, not sure this is what you discuss in front of customers with your work colleague, apparently tho the pasties were ok. Definitely won't recommend.

As a local we regularly pop in here - mainly for baguettes and coffee. Spotlessly clean and staff are friendly. The baguettes are freshly made and are delicious - huge choice of fillings. Pasties, cakes, sausage rolls and much more!
