Have a visit to George Street Kemptown Brighton - quieter off main street but few nice little businesses. Figaros Cafe friendly service. Straightforward ordering & clear pricing. Clean & neat, sit in or take away. Freshly cooked food to order. Enjoyed it.

The store has a large space, and there is no comfortable seat and there is a distance between customers. The food is not expensive, $18 can feed two people, and there is food and drink.

We were on a week's coach holiday and were looking for somewhere for lunch. We were so lucky to find this cafe up a side street (George St., Kemptown) in Brighton. There was plenty of choice on the menu, all at reasonable prices. My husband, who isn't very adventurous had the cheese and tomato sandwich but when I saw the brie/bacon/ cranberry sauce option I had to try it! Both sandwiches were generously filled and everything was so fresh. We had coffee and water with our lunch and given the opportunity we would definitely visit this cafe again. The lady who served us was so nice and friendly and the food was excellent. The prices were reasonable too. There was a toilet on this ground floor- easily accessible (important to me because I have mobility problems). We would recommend this cafe to everyone.

Food was average - at best... and that's the nicest thing I could say about the place. Staff were rude, unorganised and waited about 40 mins for a breakfast. Got brought the wrong breakgast, and then confronted and challenged by a rude waitress at the end. The place is dirty and table was sticky. Worse 'restaurant' I've ever been in. First and last time

I was in Brighton with little free time and decided to try this one for an English Breafast. Great choice and great value for money. The breakfast was nicely prepared and the staff very friendly (the owner is Italian but knows what he's doing). I would recommend this place both for the food and the price.

I'm hooked on their coffee but alas there's no loyalty cards - Doh! Support your Independent, I say. It's hardly lavish with it's furnishings but if that's what you're looking for then you'd best find a furniture shop. Figaro's is unique in it's own special way. I can certainly recommend the coffee - and the omellets - and the pasta arabiatta. Think twice about using the loo. Wish I could understand Italian. Ciao

Walking through Kemptown we stumbled across this place. Is very small but has a much needed and appreciated outside area. The barman was lovely & sitting there watching the world walk by in the sun enjoying cold alcoholic beverages was gorgeous.

Went into Small Batch, Hove Station at 4.20 pm yesterday. I ordered a coffee as a dine-in customer. Was told that I would have to use a take away cup as they would be closing soon. I left but not before telling the cashier that I would have drunk my coffee within 10 minutes. Small Batch website indicates that they close at 5.00 pm. BTW there were no other customers. Anyway, I went down the road and gave another coffee shop my business.

Unfortunately, even though there were many things right I'll be avoiding this place. The service was impeccable, good beer, perfect lighting and lovely music. So what was wrong? A coven of aggressive women believing they ran the place because they'd booked a table. At their request the music, that I'd been enjoying, was turned off so they could conduct their meeting whilst sipping peppermint tea. I'd suggest a pub isn't an ideal place for this sort of thing. Especially if you're hell-bent on spoiling the atmosphere for everyone else. Sadly, they're regulars.

We visited Brighton for my Sister’s 40th and decided to come here for the afternoon tea. The staff were lovely, friendly and accommodating and the food was quirky and delicious! We even moved to the bar for a few cocktails after. Would recommend - thank you
