North Laine Pub in Brighton and Hove

It's genuinely some of the best pizza I've had. Fires alongside were great with rosemary. Service was great despite the crowd, got our food in around twenty minutes.

Didn't take long to be seated. Took 10-15 minutes before being asked what we'd like to eat and drink but after this, everything was on the table within 3-5 minutes. Chips were really good, the margherita pizza with ham added to it was delicious! Negatives Table was on the small side my seating stool was wobbly Quite loud as it's a fairly popular place

In my honest opinion this was the tastiest pizza I've ever had, Vincenzo my server was also hands on and attentive and even had a nice chat with me after the meal. It's a shame they are so far away, but if I'm to be in Brighton again, lunch will be here for sure.

Had a Capricciosa pizza, it was heavenly. The dough on the rims was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, great balance of cheese and toppings. It was noticeable that all the ingredients were fresh and of high quality. Must go if you’re a pizza fan!

Came in Friday night for a quick drink on the way to town and ended up staying for dinner. Burgers were 10/10, will definitely be back for more. I had the vegan burger which was so delicious and juicy. The kitchens standard are definitely a lot higher than your average pub kitchen, my sister and I were very impressed. All the staff on were very attentive and wonderful, couldn’t have asked for anything more. And the music was great before and after the dj started and only got better as the night went on. Thanks guys!!

Easily the best pizzeria in Brighton, the Margherita was perfect and if you are vegan (or even if you are not) you have to try the truffle, pumpkin and courgette pizza. Friendly staff, very nice location, I wouldn't know what more to ask. Unfortunately I devoured my pizza before I thought of taking a photo but I will try and remember next time Grazie and arrivederci 👌🏼

Incredible pizza. The food, drinks, prices and iconic location make this one of the best restaurants in Brighton. Perfect for a date night or social gathering. I love pizza and I love Brighton, which means I have tried almost every pizza spot in the city. This includes Franco Manca, Fatto A Mano, VIP, Nanninella and Pizza Pilgrims - and of all of them Fatto A Mano, and specifically the North Laine location, remains my favourite. It is a lovely location and perfect for tourists, with Kensington Gardens being one of the most popular and busy streets in Brighton. There is plenty of outdoor seating, best enjoyed with a glass of wine or spritz, and this is the more preferred seating in my opinion - the interior of the restaurant can become cramped and noisy as numbers go up. The food itself is often faultless, although as with most pizza places, it is very difficult to ensure true consistency. My partner and I love olives and always order a portion, we follow this with an order of their arancini balls which are phenomenal and well worth the price (£7.50). I am a sucker for a good capricciosa and therefore often order it. My partner is more adventurous and has tried most of the pizzas - her favourite is the 'Nduja. Service is friendly and efficient. It gets very busy and there is occasionally a queue outside but staff are attentive and will seat you as soon as possible. Once seated, you never feel pressured to finish your meal quickly or leave, even when it's busy, which shows staff want you to enjoy the experience. Fatto A Mano has always been on the cheaper side, with pizza's priced between £10-15 and starters all under £10. You can easily have dinner here with 1 drink each for under £40 which is amazing value when you consider the quality of the food. Just make sure you visit the North Laine location, as the quality of the food and the overall experience is far better than at Hove or London Road.

One word ‘Alfie’. A group of Hens went here for a bottomless brunch, bagel and musical bingo. They only offer 2 drinks and the bagel was questionable. Not sure what the meat was - most of the party didn’t finish it. It was gross! However, what made our afternoon great was the entertainment. Alfie was brilliant! Very funny! If it wasn’t for him, I would have scored 1 star! He is the only reason why I would return.

The food was absolutely stunning really fresh and flavourful. The service was fast and staff were very accommodating. We went on Friday night and it was really busy so we were happy to wait until a table became available. Many choices of pizza and can add additions. The price was really good so cheap for the quality. You can also take away any food you can’t eat.

Always fantastic, fresh, high quality food and very friendly staff. Can't fault them. They do the best pizzas anywhere.

I've eaten at Fatto a Mano plenty of times over the years. I thought the pizzas had dipped somewhat but on this visit the pizzas were back on top form. Great red wine available by the glass carafe or bottle.

J'ai été un soir avec ma femme durant nos vacances de Noël à Brighton et nous avons eu une expérience contrastée, d'un côté un menu intéressant mais dans la norme et d'un autre côté un service superbe ! En effet nous avons été servis par un employé d'un certain âge sur la soixantaine à vue d'œil il paraissait fatigué mais il nous a surpris par son savoir et sympathie. Il nous a conseillé un dessert surprenant et il nous a aussi fait de l'animation ! On y retournera.......

Could be the best pizza in Brighton!

They just do the best pizza. I have to be gluten free and their GF dough is amazing - super fluffy and the crust rises (so it isnt flat and cardboardesque). Their toppings always taste fresh and delcious - it is my favourite pizza restaurant in Brighton. I couldnt eat the normal garlic pizza bread but others in our group said it was the best garlic bread they had ever had.

We went into North Laine today for a lovely Sunday roast and a drink- one of us had the roast beef and I had the nut roast, both of which were amazing! The bartender Edy was really helpful in talking us through all the menu options and they were very accommodating for a vegetarian diet. The food came very quickly and was a really good sized portion. The star of the show was the roast potatoes but all of the food was amazing and we had a really great time. A special thank you to the lovely manager Hattie who was absolutely wonderful. Great atmosphere, amazing food, and good music. Thank you North Laine!

Got given gift vouchers to use at North Laine as a present last year (which I haven't been able to use yet). Says pre-booking is essential and to email if you have questions...so I emailed earlier in the year as well as a couple of months ago, never got a reply. Just checked and they expired yesterday, but no one ever responded to me....so, pretty disappointing and a waste of a present!! :(

today I went to the north Laine brew house for a Sunday roast today and oh my god it lived up to its expectations, I had to write this review half way through eating as it was that good! The live jazz singer & saxophone player made it super cosy, i can honestly say this is my new favourite Sunday pub! Thank you north Laine - your staff are also super attentive and smiley ❤️

Pizzas are fantastic and they do a decent Aperol Spritz too. Service generally good but can be a little slow at times. We eat here quite a lot and they are always busy. Would recommend a visit for decent pizza- the best I’ve had outside of Italy. They have veggie vegan and GF options on the menu too

One of my favorite places to eat pizza in Brighton. Reservation strongly recommended, especially during weekend evenings. Good wine and delicious affogato combines with excellent flair. Can't wait for my next time in town :)

We had a lovely meal today, we arrived in the rain with our two dogs and we were made to feel instantly special, we were greeted with a smile and tables were rearranged outside so we could sit under cover, heaters were put on and the special offer was explained to us - we went through dietary preferences and we had recommendations and allergens explained to us really thoroughly. When we did order the drinks were with us straight away and food soon after - the best fries we have had in a long time and pizzas (including a gluten and dairy free option were excellent. The restaurant was busy inside but we were constantly checked on by each member of staff and made to feel like the only ones there! A wonderful break from the rubbish weather, Mike in particular was great but could t fault the whole experience- thank you!

We visited Fatto a Mano yesterday evening and had a fabulous time! The pizzas were delicious, came super quickly and there was a great atmosphere. I believe our server was called Marco and he was super friendly, kind and attentive. He also made sure we made use of the deal available and I was also given a gift and dessert as it was my birthday! We love the restaurant every time we come and will definitely be back!

Came in to try their new Sunday roast. To quote my 6 year old: “Amazing! Best food in the whole wide world!” I think she may have been referring mostly to the delicious cauliflower cheese ball, but it was all really good. Lovely friendly staff too.

My partner and I have been regular customers for a while now and we can confidently say that fatto a mano never disappoints. Tonight we had an early dinner there, my partner is following a specific diet so she had a gluten-free base pizza which looked exactly like mine and tasted just as good. The staff was super helpful accommodating our request to swap other toppings on the pizza to basically make it our own. A particular mention to Jean-Jacques who is always friendly and does his best to make the customers feel welcomed like you were exactly in Italy.

Fantastic Pizzeria in the heart of the Laines. The food was delicious and reminded me of Italy. It was incredibly authentic, light and full of flavour - with a great selection for vegans and vegetarians. We all loved our pizzas, I had the aubergine and smoked ricotta, it was amazing. The team were so friendly and had a real laugh with the guy that was looking after us.

Love the pizzas here. We had burrata and parma ham and nduja and salami pizza. The one with burrata was creamy and smooth. And the one with nduja had sour and spice balanced kick. The service staff are attentive, helpful, and fun to talk to. Love this place

If you want good fries then great, otherwise, meh. We booked as group based on the menu. Only to find it had changed 5 days prior to our visit. We were told by staff that the menu was an improvement, yet the general consensus was, its just OK. The old menu sounded better, had more options. The food we got was more akin to a snack bar.

JJ is a legend, as are the rest of the team, most welcoming and friendly restaurant in Brighton. Pizzas are excellent, great value.

This place is very nicely styled and decorated! There’s pool and table tennis available and it’s an independent pub which is great to see. We had drinks and food - the pub clearly cares about having a variety of interesting beers and ciders, there’s an extensive wine menu too. The guy at the bar seemed well informed and told me about a new cider they’d just got in!! The food menu was simple but good and they offered various burgers and sides with plenty of vegan options. The staff were very friendly throughout the visit and service was prompt! I found the food a bit disappointing, we all had burgers and didn’t think they were as good as we were expecting. My buffalo chicken burger wasn’t ‘crispy’ as described and was a bit soggy and this seemed to be the case for each of our burgers - the chips were ‘ok’ and so were the chicken wings but not the most flavoursome buffalo sauce. I would certainly recommend coming for drinks as the bar is nicely stocked and it’s a nice place!

Went into north Laine the other evening and had a pleasant welcome from the staff they were lovely and hilarious. Tried the Laines beers for the first time which were incredibly refreshing and tasty. Visited the venue on a weekday for lunch, thought it would be quiet but it was buzzing. The weather was super nice also and they have quite a lot of tables out the front in the sun. I went for the Rippa Ribs and oh my God they were divine. I picked one up and the meat fell right off the bones. I was going to take a picture but the smell was so insanely incredible that I forgot! So Rippa is one of their beers and they slow cook these bad boy ribs in the beer, I had a pint of it alongside the ribs and it was the perfect pairing. The staff were super helpful and made the recommendations and I have to say they were spot on. I will definitely be back to see what else they come up with!

Went for a roast dinner today and it was a mess. The poor staff were so overworked and understaffed. We had pre booked a table but it took nearly two hours to get our food which eventually came out cold and the meat completely inedible as it was so over cooked. A total shambles and the owners should be ashamed of themselves making their staff work with a situation that was impossible. The saving grace was we got a refund on food. Shame we still had to spend about £60 on drinks while waiting for our food to come out! Never again!
