Incredibly tasty. Basic menu with something for everyone. We thought it was pricey until the food came out. Worth every penny. We had the flat breads - tikka / Mediterranean and they kindly let us have mushroom with the Mediterranean. Puddings were amazing too.

Popped in for lunch, expecting I'd have to wait for a table, but pleasantly surprised that I was seated immediately. I chose the homemade bacon, cheese & onion quiche served with salad (opted out of coleslaw) and ordered a side of fries. The quiche was hot and tasty, made with proper pastry and generously filled unlike some where you play "hunt the fillings". The huge salad was very good, too, with a variety of components. The only negative was that there was so much dressing it dripped down my shirt. I paid around £13, which compares with London prices, but was still far better in quality and value for money than I had at a pub the night before.

We popped in to this place quite by accident during a day out in Truro. It was exceptionally good. We got very comfortable seats and menus straight away and shortly after our orders were taken. Drinks served promptly and the coffee was excellent. However it was the food that made our visit. Chicken satay flat bread was simply awesomely tasted and cooked to perfection. There was no scrimping on the ingredients and those showed in the taste. We will now make this our place to lunch when we are in Truro.

They have what they call, ‘a gluten free option’. Unfortunately it is in a cabinet with other products that are not gluten free. The usual woke response, we don’t have space, and the health people never said anything! In 2023 this is totally unacceptable in a big cafe that serves lots of good food. The staff, or owner, need to change the attitude and wise up. If you are Coeliac - stay away.

Having visited this cafe before and it being a good experience we were most disappointed on this occasion. We were greeted by a gentleman who was quick to tell us they had stopped meals and it was only drinks and cakes. That suited us so we were shown to a table, nobody approached us. After 5 minutes of watching 2 members of staff chatting behind the drinks station opposite our table, I then went to the counter and asked if I could order. I asked the female server what flavor milkshakes they did as I forgot to check, to be told it was on the menu on the table I was sitting at... I went back to the table and then back to the counter and ordered a different drink as I wanted a fruit flavor rather than a chocolate based one. I also ordered and paid for a tea and 2 traybake slices. When it arrived the white chocolate cherry Bakewell was moldy. I returned to the counter with it and told the server. She rolled her eyes in disbelief and then reluctantly had to agree when she saw it, no apology but asked me what I would like instead. As I was Hungry, I choose something else. The whole experience felt like they were doing me a favor by serving me, I will find alternative cafes when I visit Truro to spend my money at. We are all aware of hard times at the moment, but customer service like this will not help this business survive through the difficult winter ahead!

My family and I took my mother here for her birthday breakfast, quite a few of us bought cakes, coffees, and full English breakfasts. In total we spent around £85. When I went to the counter and asked for an extra tab of butter for my daughter’s toast which accompanied her full English breakfast, ( she had been given 2, but wanted another 1, for 2 slices of toast) I was told by the owner she would have to charge me 20p for the extra butter!! I couldn’t believe it. When I then reminded her we had just spent around £85 in the hour we had been there, she rudely replied “If I give it to you, then I’d have to give it to everyone”!!

Tea is real not tea bags, it was a little strong, but no problem having some hot water. Also they have lovely cakes to choose from. Sitting upstairs you can have a lovely view of the ground floor. Used to be regulars at this cafe but had not been for some time, so was surprised to find it had been rebranded when we visited at lunchtime today. Decided to stay and give it a try, but we’re SO disappointed. Really disliked it. We ordered a jacket potato each - one with baked beans and one with tuna-and-chives. Also two Americano coffees. This cost £16.95. The potatoes arrived crammed into small serving dishes: one had a tiny helping of baked beans on it, the other a couple of tablespoons of tuna, mashed beyond recognition and with no chives that I could see. No salad garnish and all lukewarm. My husband (starving) ate his but I left all of mine. I also left my coffee, I see that a lot of other reviewers here rate it, but to me, it was just as bad as the food.

We made our first visit to Fig Cafe (used to be Lemon) on the first floor of Lemon St market and opted for their turkey roast lunch. The cafe seating area is quite spacious and very clean - staff were wiping down tables every time they cleared as customers left. Roast lunch comprised three slices (processed?) turkey with stuffing, gravy in a jug and separate dishes containing rosemary potatoes (parmentier style) and a bowl containing carrots, parsnips etc. Food was hot and at first appearance the turkey didn't look appetising was quite tasty and moist. Potatoes had a slight bitterness to them - possibly due to the garlic or rosemary? Though they may not have been generous portions we thought their price made them reasonable value for money and were just right for a quite mid week lunch. The cafe Fig offers an extensive menu especially breakfast foods and based on this visit we would certainly return again.

Very relaxing sofas as well as table and chairs in an openplan light space; there are large vaulted ceilings. Artwork displayed in the adjoining gallery (great to see Charlotte Cornish on display) as well tall attractive Australian ferns giving it greenery. We have had coffee here as well as lunch. I agree with others that it is a little on the expensive side but we enjoyed what we had. I did wonder if it could be cold here in the winter and was told that as there is little heating (and probably not a lot of insulation) it can be. The rating reflects the inordinately long time it took them to bring one of the two coffees we ordered. It wasn't madly busy so there was no reason to expect such slow service (and as we were on holiday it must have been REALLY slow for us to notice, because we were not in a tearing rush). And when eventually something arrived it was only half of our order. Fortunately the missing one followed a lot more quickly. Good 'fruity' coffee if that style is to your taste, and nice airy location with some comfy chairs - but we didn't expect to spend anything like as long sitting in them!

Been coming here for a good many years and always looked forward to a choice of where to eat. Now, I find that all of the food outlet space is run by an outfit called Fig. Initially, undeterred and on a midweek visit, we went up to the gallery cafe to have an early lunch (1145). No sign of lunch menu's anywhere and and, when I enquired, I was curtly informed that lunch doesn't start until 1200 which is also when the menus are posted and not a minute before. We were, to sat the least, flabbergasted, that in this day and age, any catering service provider would treat it's customers like young school children who cannot be trusted to read a menu before deciding to order and then waiting patiently to dos so. We disappeared for a brief stroll and returned when lunch was formally in process! Suffice to say, the lunch menu is most underwhelming and the food totally so. In its favour the Fig prices are moderate but the new furnishings successfully instil an airport style ambience which is quite unappealing. So, regrettably, we shall not return until things change and recommend that others choose somewhere else to lunch. With no competition in the Market, I fear things will not change for the better for some time.

When I told her that it was 1 minute until 12, she said: 'Well it's not up to me it's up to my manager when he wants to put the menus out.' And she then turned away and continued cleaning the tables. I couldn't believe how rude she was and I wasn't prepared to sit and eat there after that service. I quite understand not putting the menus out until 12, but why couldn't she simply say 'If you'd like to take a seat I will bring over a menu shortly'...? One local customer who will not be returning

Love this cafe! It has a lovely bright and airy atmosphere, the food is home made and absolutely delicious (especially quiches and cakes!), service is 5* and staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The lovely family owned business must have worked incredibly hard to refurbish the new premises, especially within such tight timescales and it looks so much better than the previous gallery cafe, which was very dated. I think they have done a superb job with the renovation and the cafe seems to be going from strength to strength - well done Team Fig! We shall be regulars here!

Fig is a lovely café in the market, great coffee, great service, I cannot recommend it enough. The new takeaway is great too with a brilliant selection of snacks and drinks for lunch. I visit most days and its always really busy which shows how popular it is!

I was a regular at the Gallery Cafe which had a light and airy feel to it with. Having been busy with moving house during May and June, I returned recently to find a takeover has occured and a wooden monstrosity has been erected which fills the previously open space. As the menu has been changed, I couldn't have the cheese scone I'd come in for so was enquiring about a ham and cheese panini. I was told, rather abruptly and somewhat defensively by the owner ( I hadn't actually been talking to her, but she butted in anyway to ensure I bought SOMETHING, and in an attempt to belitte me or her staff member, it wasn't clear) that 'panini actually just means toasted sandwich' (actually, it doesn't) and that 'toasted sandwiches are on the menu'. Well, actually, toasted ciabatta is on the menu. And not with ham and cheese. Cheese and chicken - a not so classic combination. Anyway, the menu has been trimmed down which was probably necessary. Not so sure it needed to be quite so sexed up, however. The (customised) food I chose was delicious and of good quality and it was nice to see the welcoming, old staff members. They are no longer serving an extra pot of hot water with tea, a decision which I can only assume has been taken to increase profits. This is a bad call as I fear that my chances of returning now are slim to none. I'm all for supporting a local business that is trying to grow but there are plenty of other lunch and cafe options in Truro. For the moment, I will shop around for somewhere that feels a little less like a money making machine and a little more like home.

There used to be three distinct outlets serving food in Lemon Street Market: Lemon Street Gallery Cafe, Fig Cafe and one other. There is now just one Fig 2 Cafe occupying the old gallery site, the old atrium Fig Cafe site and a small site by the main door. The old Fig Cafe premises remain unoccupied. This is all a shame as the three outlets used to provide a varied fare in differing environments. Now the same fare seems to be sold throughout.

Stopped in whilst in Truro, it's a lovely Cafe with nice strong freshly made coffee, and possibly the best sausage and bacon roll I've ever had! Yum!

Stop for lunch. Impressive cafe and well laid out. Dissapointed with my pulled beef sandwich it was a bit on the bland side. Service was slow but it was busy. I will try again as it may have been been a off day for tbe beef.

We were in town for a wedding and so decided to fill up on a decent breakfast as we knew we were, eating late. The breakfast was delicious, as was the coffee. However, I cannot eat bread for a number of reasons, but rather fancied some toast. Gluten free bread was offered on the menu. When I asked about the bread the gentleman serving seemed very unwilling to let me have it. This rather threw me, and then he asked if I was actually a celiac, to which I answered no. I felt that he was suggesting I was just wanting gluten free to be awkward. Then on ordering coffee I asked if they had soya milk, to which he said no, but it made no sense for me to want soya as they made their scrambled eggs with normal milk!I replied that I simply prefer soya, to which he rather reluctantly said they had almond milk which I accepted.I must admit that when I sat at the table I felt uncomfortable and rather irritated that I had to justify quite simple requests and also upset by his rather patronising tone.I had the veggie breakfast, without toast.Apart from that, the young lady who, served us our breakfast was very nice.

Found this delightful upstairs cafe by chance and had some of the best vegetarian food for a long time. We were made very welcome and chose the hummus bowl and roasted veg toasted sandwich. Both were excellent and very filling.

I've only ever called in for a beer but no complaints so far and staff are nice too. There's a big beer garden which is very useful for the kids and dogs.

The ice creams here are beautiful! Really generous portions and are very well presented. The customer service we received was outstanding, my daughter had a massive meltdown (ASD) and they were nothing but supportive, understanding and helpful. We'd had a very tough day today with meltdowns galore and this one was by far the worst of the day yet I never felt alone or judged. People like you make the biggest difference and I am so very grateful for you going out of your way to help and care. Thank you x
