Visited the Gloucester Road branch today for a late breakfast. We have visited the Fishponds branch previously but preferred today - Gloucester Road is brighter inside and has a lovely courtyard out back to sit in, which we did. Shades were up which gave us shelter from the sun. Brilliant service from the staff who were very friendly and attentive and the food really was delicious! Fresh, locally sourced, very tasty and presented beautifully.

A cornucopia of delicious food meets your eye on arrival tempting you in. It is not cheap but lovely food. I had the frittata and a slice of elderflower and raspberry cake. I had to take some home for my family it was so good. One slight criticism is that all food is open and at customer level which makes it in direct line of coughing, sneezing gets etc. When in Bristol this is where I will.make a beeline for

Fed has grown from a seed - a teeny tiny cafe open just a few short days a week to a super-popular rip-roaring trader with three sites - which is great in terms of business success and deserves a huge well done. The food is still lovely and the coffee possibly the best on the GR - however - it's becoming a victim of its own success. The portions are much, much smaller, the queues build up quickly, and the wait for food can be long. I went for breakfast this week and, although it was early and still quiet, I waited half an hour for a bowl of overnight oats to join my - by then cold - coffee. And that's after having to ask twice how long it was going to be. The server was apologetic but it's a real shame and Fed should be careful of losing loyal, local custom.

This place is great, I've been twice now to the one on Gloucester Road and even when it's really busy the staff always manage to seat you and everyone is so lovely and friendly! One waitress was even managing to serve us with her arm in a sling, what a trooper. The food is all delicious and the chai's so good we each bought a bottle of their homemade syrup. Would love it if the Cotham one could run the whole hot menu but understandably they can't at the moment due to size.

Amazing food and amazing staff. We ordered two bacon brioche buns, a side of halloumi and a side of coleslaw between us and all of which were unreal. The chai lattes were also yummy (that yummy I bought a bottle of the chai syrup to take home) Would definitely return if I'm ever in Bristol again. Go go go!

Been to Fed a few times when I can get a table! Now that it is a few doors down at number 313 (a larger space with an outside eating area) there is more room but it still gets very, very busy. Usually we love the breakfasts....especially the eggy bread but the last 2 times we have eaten there, everything seemed overcooked....halloumi was practically burned and roasted tomatoes disintegrating. I had the streaky bacon hot bun but the bacon was so overcooked it was hard to eat.. It wasn't a very busy morning when we were there, a weekday. Whoever is in charge of the kitchen needs to ensure the food that goes out to the tables is cooked properly. Other than that the cakes, coffee, etc...all excellent and the staff professional and friendly.

Great food and brilliant coffee but very busy. It can’t get really crowded in here, but only because it is extremely popular. The variety of food is brilliant and all fresh. The cinnamon buns are exceptional

The food is high quality, tasty and there is something for everyone. They make good coffee and have a wide range of sweet treats including GF. The staff are lovely and the water provided at your table is in a bottle containing cucumber and mint and is delicious! Can’t fault this place. It is usually busy and you might have to wait a bit for a seat, but it is really worth it!

The food is delicious BUT the portion sizes seem smaller (I had the toastie and it was quite a bit smaller than it was last time I had it a few months ago) and the prices have gone up. So although the food tastes good, it no longer feels like good value for money which is a shame because I live locally and want to support local businesses. A personal opinion perhaps but I don't like the open counter with the food so close to the people queuing and no glass screen to protect the food from people's coughs/sneezes/hair.

We loved the experience....FED was recommended by our friend Anna from FIG. We had delicious cakes and flavourful coffee. We sat outside, but our waitress kept a weather eye on us and we were brought inside when the rain began to fall! We were well looked after and will definitely visit again! Many thanks

Amazing Special. So tasty. Like a shakshuka. Delicious. Good atmosphere. Friendly staff. Good coffee. Not speciality coffee. Perfect for a light lunch and coffee We drove here from near London and chose to come straight here for lunch then wander round. You can park on the side streets or on some parts of the main road.

FED 303, or is it 313, in Gloucester Road. I'm a frequent customer here. Their salads are legendary, always good with the seasonal tart or frittata. Often some really imaginative specials. Service good. Nice little terrace out the back. BUT, BUT, BUT..., every time I go in, all those wonderful cakes, salad bowls, etc so close to the public. Their plates are overhanging the edge of the counter, people queueing or waiting for their takeaways are right on top of all this food. Sometimes brushed by hair or coats. Please rearrange this, put up some hygiene screens. If this means you have to display fewer products or it's harder for your staff to access then that's a small price to pay in this post-pandemic world. I see from the Council's web site that FED is still awaiting its food hygiene inspection. I hope this gets challenged.

I can’t get enough of this place! I’ve been to the Fishponds branch quite a few times now and the food never disappoints! The sandwiches are unreal (I love the Brie one), the sausage rolls are sooo yummy and that Tiramisu cake is amazing! Couldn’t recommend this spot enough!

Well, first of all, it's now Fed 313 - they seem to have moved a few doors along the road. I was only there for coffee - nice espresso - but there looked to be nice things on the menu. I sat outside in the yard - not really a garden - very pleasant in the sunshine. Excellent friendly and efficient service from the staff. I don't usually give five stars if I haven't eaten, but I will this time

They were incredibly busy when we arrived but we had reserved a table so they promptly took us to our seats. We were in the lovely sunlit courtyard at the back of the cafe/ restaurant with simple but comfortable furniture, and the staff quickly took our order. the food was tastefully presented and full of flavour and the service was friendly and knowledgable with the staff able to suggest alternatives and make recommendations. I really enjoyed my poached eggs with avocado and toast and the rest of our party were equally happy. Will definitely visit again!

Don’t get me wrong, the food is delicious. However, I bought three small salad pots today. I asked for a small pot of each salad. As such, this cost me £15 which I thought was a little expensive but I figure three full pots. Only when I got home I realised they are all half full. I have previously bought a large salad pot which was about £8 but at least it was full. Had I dispensed these three salads into the larger pot they would not even fill it. It was bagged so assumed there was not a problem. I am all for supporting local business but this is not okay.

To be honest I can't see what separates this brunch place. Menu choice was OK , we had the salad bowl. Heavy on the dressing and overpriced. No one came to check on us to ask how our food was. It was small inside and the problem with having the food open on the counter is that the staff are forever pushing in front of customers queuing to get to the food - without so much as an excuse me!
