Sunday delight. A range of roast dinners we selected a beed and turkey for our lunch. service was prompt and friendly. Drinks were a range of selection and enjoyed the local ale fireside. This was warm and nutty and a lovley pairing with our roast dinners. The staff were talkative and very friendly thus making our experience most lovley.

Enjoyable experience, opted for a Sunday roast with family , booking was easy . The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The Feathers Nestled in the charming village of Featherstone, The Feathers is a cozy retreat that blends traditional pub vibes with a welcoming atmosphere. Stepping inside feels like entering a warm embrace, with its rustic wooden decor, a crackling fireplace and a lovley team who always look after our dog sancho.

We visited the Feathers for a family celeration. We chose the pub as we had eaten there before in the past and had enjoyed the Sunday roast. It was obvious when we arrived that there were problems. There seemed to be hardly any staff on duty and those whe were definitely weren't happy! Nobidy behind the bar.t was 20 minutes before somone came to take our drinks order. We decided to order the food at the same time. We asked for two trios of roasts only to be told they didn't have the ingredients (all gone by 2 pm!). Went for the pork instead and others had different meals. When the food eventually arrived half an hour later it was all luke warm and they had forgotten the sides, which they then brought to us one by one. Then we all noticed we had no stuffing. When we mentioned it we were told "oh, sorry, we forgot to tell you there's no stuffing". The food was awful. The pork was so overcooked it was like leather and the roast potatoes were WHITE. It looked like they had just been baked in the oven with no fat.(see picture). The whole thing was so bad it was actually funny! I asked to speak to the manager, and the young gurl serving said she was in charge and knew what was wrong. I didn't even need to complain. She was so embarassed and apologetic. I felt sorry for her. We weren't the only ones She was very good and reduced the bill but that didn't make up for what was supposed to be a treat to celebrate a family member's achievement. They were plainly understaffed with nobody of any authority in charge and I presume no chef in the kitchen judging by the awful food! The 3 girls working looked under such pressure. They would have been better closing for the day. We won't be going back!

Very nice pub we had visited before and wanted to come again so we decided to book for lunch just the two of us when we arrived there was some other tables in a the girl serving was very polite and let us know she was working by herself and things may take a little longer. Even though she was working by herself and booking kept arriving she made sure our visit was enjoyable which it was my friend had the scampi and chips and I had the pan fried chicken both were on the lunch menu very reasonably priced. Thanks again for another great visit we will be back.

Warm welcome, the place is full of character, and plenty of outside seating if weather permits. Our food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering and although we've eaten here before, we were blown away by the portion sizes. I had the chicken duo and there was enough for 2 ( which didn't stop me eating it all of course ! ). We thoroughly recommend trying The Feathers, pretty sure you'll love it. Staff were attentive too, couldn't be happier.

Further to my previous poor review for this establishment, I did get in touch with them by email as their response suggested. In their email reply they asked for my address so they could send me a £50 voucher as compensation for my wasted journey. They emailed me to say that they had lost my email with my address and so I provided it again. I then followed my second email up again with a third email when no voucher was forthcoming. To date, no voucher has been received which I guess underlines the fact that the organisation at The Feathers is a complete and utter shambles.

We arrived about 9 pm in the evening for a drink and light meal. We were met with a warm welcome after a long journey from the Channel Islands. The staff were very polite and extremely accommodating, especially as the kitchen was almost due to close. We were exhausted and hungry and thankfully the chef provided us with a selection of side orders which were very welcome and also delicious. Thank you for a great experience.

We eat and have a drink here so often. There was no one at the bar. I thought it was closed. I walked passed the bar, and luckily a lovely server came out. Ordered our drinks. THANK GOODNESS I remembered to register our car in the car park. Which is odd. It's big. It's empty. There were only 2 other tables outside, none inside. We then ordered food. It took 53 minutes to the T for the food to arrive. (they were out of chicken and seabass, no problem) It was a burger, a snack platter and a kids' sausage and mash. When I went for a pint refill, I saw two couples leave because no one was behind the bar. It's a lovely place. The food is good. But the food really can't take almost an hour. OH! We also got a £170 parking charge for the one day my visiting elderly inlaws didn't register their car.

Good service but very unimpressed with the food. A special today was pork loin with bubble & squeak at £17.50. I was served one small, thin pork loin chop with a spoon of what appeared to be mash on apple sauce and a spoon of cabbage. My 6 year old granddaughter would have eaten more.

Fab spot of lunch the pork belly was delicious and signature burger went a down a treat with my partner. Amazing service from Chelsea very attentive and welcoming, would definitely recommend. Make sure to put your number plate in on arrival.

Had a lovely evening at The Feathers yesterday evening. My family & I enjoyed our dinner & drinks very much, provided by the friendly & attentive staff. Couldn’t recommend The Feathers anymore!

We have recently eaten delicious evening meals at the Feathers (which we recommend) - the service was fantastic (thank you Chelsea and Dani) - you made us welcome, and gave us a very personable and friendly service.

The feathers is an extremely reliable,delicious,great value, restaurant that Me and my family love to go to. The steak is delicious and the service is tip top. Overall 5 star

Our meals were very disappointing. The adult meals were mostly smaller than the kids one. Used to my veggie meals being small (although why restaurant think vegetarians eat less is beyond me) but the other meals were also small, burgers came with a small handful of chips and nothing else. The burgers were cold, grilled halloumi was burnt and black. Wish we'd taken photos. The building is in a very bad state and clearly needs a refurbishment. The toilets were flooded and should have been closed. Such a shame, right opposite cliveden the site should be a golden opportunity but being left to ruin. Staff were pleasant, but not enough to save it, we won't be back.

Beautiful location with beautiful trees, building is old yet charming. Staff were delightful and friendly. Food was top notch and hit the spot.

We had a lovely experience this Monday, staff were delightful. We enjoyed a seat in a quiet corner and our waitress was very joyful and friendly. We enjoyed a lamb shank shepherds pie which was very tasty

We have eaten here fairly often in the past and I’m not sure what’s going on atm but we certainly didn’t have a good experience on this occasion . The staff were in short supply and certainly not giving customers what they wanted . On arrival we had to wait for sometime for someone to appear and when they did they were quick to disappear… when we ordered our food it was incorrectly taken down by the waitress , which we managed to correct unfortunately the wrong food arrived …. so having waited a fair time we decided to just eat it ! Luckily they didn’t charge us the full amount The toilets had clearly flooded which should really have been shut as they expected customers to wade through puddles and didn’t see this as an issue as an engineer had been ‘called out’ to fix the problem ! Total lack of any understanding but in all fairness standards have simply slipped here …

Surprisingly empty for lunch mid week during the Easter Holidays. Our waitress Dani was attentive and the food came quickly. It was tasty and arrived hot which is not always the case these days. The menu was extensive and catered for all tastes. We were offered a specials menu but we are from the a la carte menu. For 2 courses each (2 of us) and drinks ( one glass of coke and one glass of presecco) with tip came to £60. It was warm, friendly and efficient.

After a long journey, we pulled up at the feathers for some 'r' n 'r'. We were taken aback by the welcome and friendly service. Our food arrived promptly, well cooked and piping hot. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will make the feathers a stop off whenever we are in the area.

I’ve eaten at a few Chef & Brewer pubs and I can say that the quality of the food was the best I have had. I chose the Korean chicken which was excellent, very well cooked, folllowed by a special, sticky toffee cheesecake, also excellent....

Our burns night spent at the festhers was an enjoyable experience. Staff were great and looked after us. Only issue was the burns music, very Scottish. Proclaimers wouldn’t be first choice ! However lovely atmosphere and food

Stumbled upon this pub after taking a wrong turn on a family walk.Thought we would have a quick drink - get our bearings - and get on o our planned destination for lunch.No need - the initial welcome was great - full of smiles & enthusiasm. Really clean & well presented, so we decided to settle in. Plenty of choice for both food and drink, we struggled to prise the kids out of the place. What really made it was the warmth and enthusiasm of the team there.We all know hospitality has had it rough lately, but I’m tired of hearing operators moaning whilst not putting the effort in.Aaron - your ladies were great today - hats off to you all.

I booked my family in for lunch at 12 noon on Good Friday on the basis that we needed to be on the road for 1.15 so that we could get to our next activity for 2.30pm (football at Wycombe). Our server did notify us that the food would be 30 mins once we sat down. As we had little alternative we had to accept the situation. We had a 45 minute opportunity to eat, or so we thought.The food in fact came out at 1.05pm. We had 10 minutes to wolf it down and go. To top it off, not a single hint of an apology from anyone. If you don’t have the staff, don’t open the restaurant!

The super friendly and funny staff are irreplaceable, Laura, Miria and Aaron had us in fits of laughter all night. This place is opposite the entrance to Cliveden House. So after a morning strolling round the grounds of Cliveden, we had a lovely lunch sitting in the sunshine (we were lucky with the weather).The service was excellent although you could see how hard they were all working. The food was also excellent. There’s about three menus to choose from.

Came for a meal on Friday night, had the pate chicken burger - which were both decent! The chicken burger was a tad dry is my only real criticism, everything else was great. Notably service was awesome, the shift manager was super (bearded fella) and Miria, our waitress was amazingly attentive and funny! Well done!

Absolutely fantastic service, from Aaron and all the team at the feathers. We were well looked after, the food was impeccable (the mussels were beaut) and we will definitely be back! Visited here throughout the week, the food was amazing but it’s the service that sticks, a young man who was training Darryl looked after us, with assistance from his colleague Laura whom was training him. The service was outstanding, we chose to go with their recommendation of ham hock pie, what a great choice this was. Would definitely recommend. Will be back again in a few weeks to try another dish off their menu!

This is our local chef and brewer, and what can I say, after visiting many of different ones in our time, this is by far our favourite. The staff are always friendly, and food is always perfect, very good for your money. Laura served us on this particular occasion, such a lovely young girl, always smiling and had a laugh with her. I had the Hunters chicken and my husband has the steak pie, both cooked to perfection, they also have a lovely courtyard area, and huge beer garden. We will be back soon!

Visited with family for my Birthday last Sunday and was extremely disappointed. Wasn't going to publish a review as we expressed our dissatisfaction before leaving (having not eaten!!), and out details were taken down for the manager to call and discuss our visit with is. Clearly this is not of importance to them as its been a week and nobody has been in contact. While we understand there are current supply issues and take that into account there must come to a point where its not conducive to be offering food when everything we tried to order was unavailable. Including at one point when pur order was finally taken (had taken quite some time), only to be told 20 minutes or so later there was only 2 of something and we had to order something else for 3 others. When the food FINALLY arrived it looked very unappetising and was cold, all 5 meals. We sent them back to the kitchen, explaining they were cold only for them to be returned, still cold but just absolutely swimming in luke warm gravy. We explained to the waiting staff, one of which was unnecessarily rude given the situation that the meals were inedible. We paid for our drinks, despite the fact the prosecco was flat and promptly left. Whilst walking to the car I booked a table for a different establishment for pur Birthday meal and thankfully they saved the evening and the Birthday celebrations. Extremely disappointing that not only was our experience exceptionally negative, nobody is interested in rectifying anything as despite being asked to leave our contact details nobody has called to discuss.Definitely will not be returning nor recommending to anyone. Appalling service. Couldn't give less that 1 star

After a delightful walk around cliveden, we decided to stop by after several visits in the past, haven’t got a bad word to say, food was presented well, and delicious. The staff were all friendly but one individual shone…Laura, she looked after us from the minute we walked in, sat us, and serviced us throughout. Would like to say Thankyou again for getting us a table through a busy lunch time service especially as we hadn’t booked and giving us such a lovely lunch. We will definitely be back again.

Awful service! First walked in and was greeted and seated straight away this is where the good service finished.No one even acknowledged us when we sat down had to ask 3 times for our drinks and to take our orders. Staff were inexperienced and had no idea what they were doing. Probably the worst service I have ever received in any establishment I have visited

There where some major signs of improvement after the covid lockdown. The food improved and the staff where much better trained. We had four or five good visits until this weekend, when everything went back to the bad standards it used to have.We had 2 steaks. They arrived with the smallest onion rings I’ve every seen, seven chips and a salad comprising of two small bits of rocket lettuce. The quality of the steak had also deteriorated.For desert we ordered the so called Eton mess sundae. This consisted of ice cream, small amount of meringue and some sauce. No fruit as in the past.The staff are still great, but the food is no longer worth the price.

Staff were friendly, however the food was cold and one of the meals wasn’t presented well on the plate, so didn’t look very appetising. My bacon that went with the chicken burger tasted burnt and I understand there was no gas on that day but the other things could be easily sorted.

Booking for a group was a nightmare! We were well accommodated and food was good, but service was very slow due to staff shortage and variety of dishes ordered..

I visited the Feathers yesterday with my two daughters and Mum for her 90th birthday lunch, having been here as a child with my parents probably about 40 odd years ago in the days where you were allowed to sit outside with a packet of crisps and a babycham. The pub is decorated really nicely whilst keeping it’s olde world charm, it’s very clean and it has a really good varied menu, the service is very good and the food very nice but what really made the day for my Mum and us were the two ladies that served us, they were named Julie and Laura, they were both so lovely with my Mum and chatty, friendly and smiley and Mum even got a mini bottle of proseeco on the house as it was her 90th birthday. We will definitely be back again at some point and I’d definitely recommend Feathers to everyone I know.

Son In Law took me there last night for my 80th Birthday Dinner.Have been before and enjoyed it -however- Last night Ordered Sea Bass with scallops on bed of risotto- Had before and enjoyed this dish.Last night the sea bass came up charred to death, scallops were the same and the risotto tasted most odd. In fact the whole dish tasted as though it had been charred the day before and served up last night .Very disappointing experience and would not go back. What Chef cannot cook Sea Bas a most delicate fish dish!!!!!!!!

The staff helped to make my husband's 60th birthday meal very special: nothing was too much trouble for the manager and the staff; excellent food and service; lovely ambience and atmosphere, with fresh flowers on the tables.

Very reasonably priced lunch in a lovely atmosphere. Would very much recommend you try it out. Especially after a brisk walk around the lovely gardens at Cliveden

Despite having run out of beer, draught cider, mushrooms, pancetta, kale & panna cotta, the restaurant hadn't got their food delivery for the evening until nearly 6pm, they were short staffed, the manager had to work on his day off & then the gas oil ran out, they were still able to provide tasty food & excellent service, in very good humour... and didn't cry once (not in front of us anyway)! The excellent customer service we were provided with in the face of such adversity is commendable.

Really nice family dinner. Staying nearby in a hotel, but wanted a family pub dinner and allowing a dog. Very easy to book online, although the online booking didn’t seem to allow notification of the dog. When we arrived, we were welcomed but the dog seemed to cause a surprise. However, we were quickly accommodated and made welcome. The ‘dog area’ inside didn’t seem huge, so definitely try and mention it if booking.Food was good, staff very friendly and efficient and the price for four main courses, a starter and soft drinks, very reasonable. Would recommend and would return. Thanks!
