Very nice pub, brilliant service and food. All the staff were nice and helpful. A hidden gem and a nice quiet spot for lunch.

Really friendly local pub. We are staying at the holiday park and thought we would come for dinner. Had a lovely meal with starter and dessert! Bar staff and the young waitress very chatty and welcoming. Food was lovely!. Steak was cooked to perfection! Very reasonable prices . All the locals were very friendly. Best of all this pub is very dog friendly. We took our little patterdale terrier. .we loved it so much we are returning Saturday we booked a table to watch footie and have dinner !

We stopped in here from something light to eat and a drink. We had a couple a side plates which were all very tasty and decent prices. Along with a wine and a shandy it all went down very nicely. friendly staff too, bonus.

My friend and I decided to go for a Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed! The food was so delicious crispy potatoes and fluffy inside and the beef was melting in our mouths! You get a great selection of vegetables and cauliflower cheese as you can see from the photos. I would highly recommend this pub for food or even just a few drinks. They have a great selection of beers, ciders, wine etc and the garden is lovely. Thank you to all the staff and fantastic owners for a great Sunday afternoon😀

What a beautiful little local, called in for drinks as was staying up the road. Saturday night was quite busy but we managed to find a table and soaked up the village atmosphere. The prices of the drinks were great value, and we got invited to join the pub quiz which was really good fun, did we win, no, but got a prize for the lowest score which one of the locals told us we had won. The landlord was very friendly and didn’t make us feel unwelcome which from experience of visiting other pubs that are not local to us we left after one drink . We could of stayed longer but we were all tired but next time I definitely will be staying longer.

Want proper pub food and atmosphere this the pub for you. Doing classic like fish and chips to halloumi burgers with mushrooms. Food good by pub standards services is great and food arrived after about ten minutes wait.

Omg what an absolute hidden gem, came upon it by chance and so glad we did. Very friendly atmosphere lovely menu. The food portions are huge and the quality is outstanding I think it is the first time been out for a meal and felt too stuffed to have a dessert will definitely be returning

I left a message and didn't get back to me so my husband took us there to book while standing waiting the barmaid didn't acknowledge me and served people after me felt so ignored and disrespected so walked out they have missed out on £80 food and meal bill wouldn't go back very ignorant 🙃

We came here while on our holiday in watergate bay. We booked a table on a Monday evening with our little dog. Service was great and food was excellent, would definitely recommend.

Excellent food & service. We arrived late but were made to feel very welcome. Super dog friendly. We all had different mains which were lovely, the chips are to die for. Will definitely call in again.

Was advised to book especially for Sunday Lunch. But what a lovely little pub, very traditional and dog friendly. Served a massive beef and pork dinner with all the trimmings, lovely! Add a pudding and it was very reasonably priced. Would deffo recommend and would go back again.

This is exactly what you want from a pub. Good, hearty food at a reasonable price and decent beer. Our room was lovely and spacious, with plenty of storage space (something that many places overlook), plenty of towels, and just well appointed throughout. The staff were lovely and always helpful. Overall this was a great experience and good value!

Great food and friendly staff. Between us we tried the vegetable lasagne with garlic ciabatta, chunky chips, and halloumi sticks. All of the food was delicious - portions come up large. For vegetarians they also have a mushroom burger, meatball pasta and salad.

We have eaten here every night of our Holiday and it has been excellent food served hot and brilliant service every night.Even one night when only one chef on.The last person who rated it one and said avoid like the plague is talking utter nonsense!!!!!! Fair enough if you had a bad meal but that's going a bit far that.Stupid woman.

Booked in at 7.30 pm for evening dinner, we arrived on time and was pointed out a table which had not been adequately cleaned, there were spiders amongst the menus, not a good start! The food was ordered within 5 mins of arrival we was still waiting for the meals to arrive for over one hour. Oh dear, amongst the five meals ordered only the garlic mushrooms were edible, the gammon was dirty and cold the home cooked offerings were frozen varieties, scampi was not cooked through and the lasagna appeared to have been microwaved several times. Upon waiting in line to complain we were told there was nobody in authority who could handle our complaints, I would advise any potential customers to avoid like the plague or they most likely may catch it.

Lovely little pub. Great food however took ages to order. Portions were huge. We all struggled to finish. Would definitely recommend.

As soon as we arrived, it was a happy, friendly atmosphere, clean, tidy and welcoming. It was my husbands birthday and he really wanted a mixed grill, it wasn’t on the menu, but I asked and they were very obliging. We shared a starter, the stilton and garlic mushrooms, absolutely gorgeous. Then came the mixed grill and my chicken platter, both were fabulous. Cooked just right and presented well, nothing could be faulted. No room for a sweet, but I wanted to take one home for later, again very accommodating to our request. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

First impressions were good, friendly staff, good atmosphere. Ordered food from the table using the app, great. Alarm Bells should have gone off how quickly the food was delivered....The burger although very non descript and obviously not made from decent meat was nothing compared to the 'hunters chicken'.It sat in a swathe of liquid, not a Hunters sauce, and when you cut it, it was too firm. The texture was hard to describe, but it was in-edible and tasteless. We both tried it, it was disgusting. It was sent back and refunded and the staff were apologetic. All in all, I will never eat there again despite the other reviews.

Absolutely lovely food and massive portions, will definitely be back. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is very welcoming and comfortable.

This is a lovely place set in a village location just outside Newquay and it offers the whole ‘village pub’ experience with indoor and outdoor seating, although it’s advisable to book for dinner if you want to sit inside.Ordering was a little difficult as you can only order via an app. They do offer free wi-if but it’s open / un-secure but if was difficult getting payment through. There is a ‘courtesy’ tablet they will lend you if you haven’t got a phone or yours won’t work but they will not take an order from you directly in any circumstances so you need to be able to use apps etc.Also, we were a larger group and made them aware that as we were two families we would place two orders but we were together so ideally would like food together.. they won’t do that either and we were served 25 minutes apart, so if you go as a group and want to eat together then order together and work it out afterwards! This place is let down badly by its staff. None of them were friendly or helpful, in fact some were rude. And almost made it seem that customers were an inconvenience. They have a policy of having to wear face coverings in all indoor areas, which isn’t a problem to us, but we were amused by the fact that only one member of staff had one one and that was pulled down over her chin whilst we saw her chasing and shouting at other customers.. One of the other highlights was when a young waiter passed us and my friend asked him if he has a minute.. he simply replied ‘no’ and carried on walking by.. The food that we had was excellent however, which is the one saving grace of the whole experience. With the great food and lovely venue this place could be excellent.. but not until the front of house staff are sorted out as they are very poor

All looked good on arrival , seated early no problem, ordered via the app ,all very easy . Whilst having a beer waiting for food noticed it was like going back to the 70s a bit dingy and in need of a makeover ,however thsts just my opinion.Food came out scampi n chips mushy peas salad , it was just cheap stuff bought from wherever ,nothing fresh salad looked like it had been on the plate for days , wifes wasn't much better ,ordered pudding apple pie ,my god please put some effort in .Didnt finish it left our drinks and went elsewhere ,never to return

Had a nice evening meal at the farmers arms whilst on holiday in the area. Tables well spread out and felt COVID safe. Good menu and reasonable prices. Only problem was having to order through an app but it was not the worst one we had to use. Food was delivered quickly and what we ordered was very pleasant. Very nice desert menu too.

Had a lovely evening meal at The Farmers Arms, we were made welcome, it was organised and efficient and still very covid secure.Food was excellent, in fact we had starters and mains and were so full we couldn't finish our mains, word of warning! Big portions, reasonably priced, would visit again, and recommend.

What a chaotic mess that resembled a scene from faulty towers !.. After seeing the positive reviews we opted to dine here as we were staying local. An hour and a half after ordering there was still no sign of food ! We were assured our order was next.. and that they had had a really busy dinner service. 2 hours later food was served.. to much disappointment. The southern fried chicken was lacking the southern fried coating.. and came as plain chicken breast.. no explanation !.. the gammon also inedible and ‘turning’ green.After complaint we were told someone would come and speak to us at the table.. that never happened and so I had to ask for the owner / manage at the bar. After requesting a refund I was refused .. After not backing down I was reluctantly refunded and explained why the service was so poor for tonight !.. unfortunately, despite the good reviews.. we won’t be back !..

Myself, my wife and 2 children ordered food and drinks on their app , after a hour and a quarter and 2 tables who came in after us got their food went up to the bar spoke to the landlord for him to say 'well if someone came in after us and ordered 1 fish and chips they would be first as it's a small order' I was absolutely stunned and could not believe my ears. The best part of my experience was the fantastic waitress who said she was really sorry for the wait then came over crying as she obviously got told off for saying sorry to us! Shocking in this day and age. Will never go back to this pub and 100% would not recommend to others.

What a fantastic place. Great starters, wonderfully cooked steak to perfection, really good beer and wine and all for less than £55.00. The staff were really friendly and the app system for ordering everything from your table worked like a dream. I would go back every night but unfortunately we're only here for one night. If you can get there then please make the most of your opportunity.

Enjoyed a great meal here - traditional pub grub. Truly awful weather on the day we visited. Every single place in Newquay town centre was fully booked, but this lovely pub managed to find us some space. We were not disappointed! Highly recommended and nice to get out of the tourist area of the town. Thanks!

We ate here twice in July and also stopped for drinks twice on the way back from Mawgan Porth. Have to say the service was fantastic, the food great with generous portions and ice cold Corona on tap.Peri Peri chicken and Burgers were brilliant as was the lasagne Great find and wonderful service

Looking for somewhere off the main steam of Newquay this is a place in a small village just outside Newquay about a mile.Lovely food and plentiful especially the chips they where very good Steak pie crisp outer and a good filling all meals very good .shame I could manage a dessert.Staff very nice and service very good even in these stupid times of covid Used the app if you actually search WiFi they have there own to which you can use and order off there for food and drinks and no real wait.5/5 Defo recommend

We managed to get a table at the last minute and were not disappointed. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They were able to cater for a gluten-free meal without any problem too. The food was amazing - excellent ingredients, large portions and very reasonably priced. This is what a local pub should be like - hope they have continued success.

Had a "group of six" tier 1 Christmas meal on Friday 4th December. To describe this as value for money is the understatement of the year!!! All six of us had to be rolled out of the pub after we had finished!! If anything there was too much food!!! Good honest food in a good honest pub. Their ordering app works a treat, their outdoor seating area is superb and patrons are able to stay dry and draught free, just remember to wrap up, patio heaters can only do so much!

Perfect English pub meal. High quotation hearty food. The stake and peppercorn sauce was lovely. Staff are friendly and attentive. I would happily recommend this to a friend or come again.

Good service and very dog friendly, food is simple pub food delivered well, large portions and freshly cooked. Even got the dogs bowl of water.

We pre booked a table and on arrival were warmly greeted by the staff. They explained that all of the ordering needed to be done via The Farmers Arms app, and how to download it via play store or by using the QR code they provided. This done, we ordered our drinks and food and payed via paypal, although we could have paid by card. The drinks and food were served in very good time and the food was excellent. the service was brilliant and friendly. Happy to recommend to anyone, dogs are also welcomed.

This is a nice restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. the tables outside is using the car park so parking was interesting. At the end of the road there is a church, we turned left in search of a space. We saw a space outside a house and we proceed to park like everyone else as there are no markings to say resident parking nor was it obstructing someone's drive but someone did come out to give us an evil stare so we drove up further and found another space. Funny enough, on our way down to the restaurant, someone else parked in the space. I do understand from the house owner's perspective. Anyway, back to the restaurant.The restaurant follow the covid guidelines. They have a one way system and they encourage people to stay in their seat so ordering is via an app just like many other restaurants. Staff are friendly, explaining the process. We went for the homely menu choice. After we ordered, we saw next door's steak which looked really nice. Mmmm, I think we will definitely go for that next time. Food was nice and we did not have to wait long for food. The restaurant is popular as every table were occupied. In the back room, there is another bar with a dart board and pool table. We did have a few games. It is amazing that they charge 50p per game. Over 25 years ago when I played, it was £1 so how can it still be 50p. Wonderful.This is a great place. We have a lovely family meal with entertainment afterwards.Wonderful.

We decided to book the Farmers Arms when on a holiday as a treat, however on review the food was horrendous, oven cooked chips and a lasagna that tasted like gristle with a hint of Chinese all spice. Which was strangely on all food served. The mushroom stroganoff was just strange and was not at appetising, however the rice was cooked well. This wouldn’t be as bad if the prices reflected the quality and standard of the cooking. If you still want to eat here, please follow the lights that looks very similar to a particular area in Amsterdam. (On reflection this indicated the type of establishment).

We were staying nearby in Newquay mid September and ate here on 3 consecutive evenings. Food ordered via an easy to use app (it must have been easy - I managed it!). Great selection on the menu for main courses, huge portions and everything we had was tasty and value for money. Good drink choices too at very reasonable prices. After eating here before on a previous holiday we booked again for a meal.As is normal now, we had to order and pay via an app which was easy to do. Drinks arrived very quickly after ordering and the food not too long after.Our food was cooked and presented lovely and everything was nice and hot.The service was very friendly and made our visit a more enjoyable experience.

After reading several good reviews and looking at the pictures online we chose to visit the Farmers Arms for a pub dinner whilst on Holiday in Newquay. We were disappointed to say the least. We ordered a selection of meals off the menu as there were five of us. The cod was soggy, the lasagne was dry and tasteless, the gammon was undercooked served with brown peas and the mushroom stroganoff was inedible. Everything was covered in a weird seasoning which was not needed. Unfortunately not an enjoyable meal at all and not cheap either. The only good thing about the farmers arms is that the staff were friendly and there were good Covid measures in place.

My wife & I visited one evening while on holiday at Park dean resort ,we hadn't booked but said we could eat outside as full inside was told covid restrictions in place ,T&T ,entry ,order at bar for table service, (excellent) was taken to seating outside in a like lean to that was fine but the table with plastic cover on had crumbs of food & drink on it hadn't been cleaned down .wife wanted to go I didn't want to go into newquay to find somewhere to eat so stopped, entry from back door to outside needs clearing up. Good very good though.

Standard pub grub at reasonable prices. All to be ordered via the app but service was efficient. Only down side is that due to covid most of the seating is outside side in the car park which kind of puts a dampener on the occasion.

Went here for dinner with my family and our dog. The food was amazing. staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking to the rear of the pub. Great value for money, very dog friendly. So glad we pre-booked as this was a very busy little inn.

First night in Newquay and we tried several places to grab a meal having not booked anywhere (because it was our first night). Even here, the inside tables were all booked and so we camped out in the outdoor seating area (car park).Being right out of the way we did think it would be quieter, but even so we downloaded the all important app, scanned the menu and ordered. Drinks came within 5 minutes or so, and then food maybe 30 minutes or so, which I guess can be expected. My choice was ham, eggs and chips and oh blimey !. What I got was half a pig, two eggs and a mountain of chips. The ham was amazing, absolutely lovely. Trouble is outdoors, you have to eat quickly, but hey ho.Nice friendly little pub making the best of a bad time and deserving of trade. Good effort.

Visited here twice while on holiday in Newquay. We were really impressed with the food and service. The staff were so friendly. The portions of food were really big and great value for money. Lovely little beer garden and a separate room to play pool and darts. Covid 19 restrictions all adhered to. You can download a app and everything is delivered to your table. Would recommend this pub highly.

I normally find myself unimpressed especially by pubs local to us, however this one surprised me! We were welcomed by very friendly members of staff who showed us to our table and very helpfully explained their COVID-19 procedures and the app they are using as their main ordering system (this was very easy to use!). When we ordered our food it took a while to arrive but I will forgive them for this due to current circumstances. I ordered a 16oz med-rare rump steak and it was cooked to PERFECTION #beststeakever and I ordered 2 of the childrens for my little darlings and they were very reasonably priced as they came with a choice of dessert and a drink. I had a cheesecake and it was beautifully creamy and my babys both had a chocolate fudge cake. All the portion sizes were large, I struggle to believe anyone could leave here hungry. Overall amazing experience will definitely visit again on future visits to sunny Cornwall

We where looking for a place to eat out with the whole family and we were really happy to find the farmers arms. The food was delicious with great portions. The staff where friendly and nice. We also had a good time with the Sunday quiz night. Defiantly recommend if you are looking for a nice local place to enjoy a meal

Came out with friends while on holiday, chose the farmers from the reviewsWhen we got hear found that they had reduced menu and no starters. Two of us had the lamb shanks, it was ok but not much taste and the peas where poorWe had one new yorker chicken again just OK but mushroom sent back as cold, came back reheated via the a microwave? All in all bit disappointing Owner did come over and said he would have a word with the chefI now it's hard in these times but we have had a lot of great meals out this week so it can be done.

Have been on holiday in Cornwall this week. We have eaten out at different pubs and restaurants all week.The food that we have had has been of a high quality, till tonight ( Thursday 20th August )We have just had a meal in The Farmers Arm's just out side Newquay. The meal that I had was poor.Peas were hard, just like bullets.Mash potatoes was reheated in a microwave leaving a dry crust on it.Lamb shank had no taste. Unfortunately tonight's meal was well below the standard Richard Cherryman. From Sussex.

Excellent find by mistake, but a lovely friendly pub that is dog friendly. The steak was amazing 16oz rump very tender. We all had a fab time and welcomed by a great landlord!

Given a sour lamb shank, with packet mash not even cooked properly, when told that it was sour offered me another one after 5 minutes, why would I want another one after that.. didn’t offer money back baring in mind it was £13

Given the situation we had to book to be sure of a reservation. We went for gammon steak and the kids went for pasta and burger. The service was fast, the food was very tasty and at £45 for the 5 of us (2 adults and 3 kids) I thought good value too. What more can one ask for?

Was told on arrival there would be 15-20 mins wait on food. It took an hour and a half. People were getting irate. Food ok but can only give two stars due to service

We waited over half an hour for our drinks to come and waited nearly two hours for food which was not worth waiting for. The food descriptions did not match what came out for us to eat. There was a lack of communication with us from the staff and poor customer service. Nearly everyone in the restaurant went up to complain about waiting times and at least had to wait for over an hour. We came in at 8 and didn’t leave until 10:30. We will not be coming back here.

Excellent meal. Friendly, helpful staff. Great service. Food was absolutely delicious. We had 10 meals although and they were all very tasty. I would definitely recommend visiting this beautiful pub if you can.

We booked this as we had a voucher for a a Xmas present.The place had a lovely atmosphere and the service was very good.The food itself was quite nice apart from our starters which tasted frozen and not cooked properly as they were barely lukewarm.The biggest problem was the voucher itself. It had a value of £49, but I was told on arrival I would have to pay separately for drinks. On top of that I was told I would have to pay extra for a steak.Our total bill came to roughly £35, yet I still had to pay for the drinks and extra for the steak. There was no mention of the remaining £14 left on the voucher when settling the bill. Surely the drinks and steak excess could have been included in the price then I would have been happy to leave the remainder as a tip.

We had a two course meal for four people - it was absolutely delicious. Lamb shank, 10oz gammon steak, mussels in white wine sauce and sweet chilli chicken noodles - all were really lovely and huge portions! Staters were great too - rib meat fell off the bone and the spicy prawns were excellent. 100% will be back to enjoy more of the menu - thank you :)

Had Friday night fish and chips special x 2, at only £7.25, great food and truly amazing value. Staff were friendly and attentive but not in your face. Great pint of Sea Fury too ... would happily recommend and will definitely be back.

We stopped off at the Farmers Arms for lunch after a very long journey. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our meals were totally enormous, piping hot and delicious. The fish and chips were particularly good. Our little dog was also warmly welcomed. Highly recommended and many thanks!

My friend and I visited the Farmers Arms for a drink and a chat. The bar man was extremely friendly and chatty plus there were a great range of beers. We settled on 2 different ales which were really lovely. A pub with a great atmosphere, will definitely visit again.

We visited here when staying at Newquay Holiday Park over Halloween as it was the closest place to eat to the park! All 8 of us had amazing portions! A family of rugby players and big eaters, we all enjoyed some of the favourites on the menu from sausage & mash to the sweet chilli chicken noodles. It was all amazing and great value for money. I would highly recommend this amazing, friendly business!

We entered a drinking establishment and was welcomed with open arms and a nice cold pint of larger. While the game was on the management brought out free breakfast for everyone. The place was full. Then they brought out the leftovers of sausages, bacon and fried tomatoes. What a great morning.

Had a Lovely Meal here. Staff where friendly and welcoming and was a nice traditional feel to the pub. Went with my family of five and was all catered for including our 10 year old with a Child's meal deal type offering. Steak was Amazing and cooked just as I like it. Portion sizes were Generous without compromising on Quality. A recent find and will definitely be back! Great evening .

I have only scored 3 on this occasion. Having eaten many times in the evening here especially Saturday grill night which is excellent quality 5* rating, we were very disappointed in the Sunday roast. Roast potatoes needed longer and the veg was very bland and watery.

Came here for dinner whist staying in Newquay. Good value, generous portions of delicious home cooked food. We had 2 mains and 2 drinks and it came to £20. Bargain. My only negative would be to say the interior is a little tired, but the food more than made up for that :) Would definitely recommend.

Great local pub, excellent food that is good value, huge portions and tasty! Good choice of standard pub mainstays plus varied specials and theme nights. Staff are superb, great choice of drinks, not too expensive which in Newquay is rare!! Less than 200 yards from my front door helps too!

Car park holds approx 10 cars, we didn't manage to park onsite, but we found a spot around the corner.

Maybe helped by the owners having two dogs themselves but this is the most dog friendly pub in Newquay and probably Cornwall. Set in the village of St Columb Minor (not Major), on the edge of Newquay it also acts as a community hub (library, job club etc.).

Found this pub searching for somewhere family friendly to watch a football game while on Holiday. Really friendly atmosphere especially for a Friday evening. Food was excellent and good value, can recommend the Hunter Chicken, Steak and Chicken breast burger. Would recommended booking. Thankyou to your team.

We went here on a Groupon voucher while on holiday & the food was absolutely fab, the best hunters chicken I've ever had. Children's meal very good value too. Servicewas excellent too. Will definitely go back before we go home.
