Utterly appalled by the thankfully brief encounter at the Folkestone Eurotunnel food court prior to an early morning departure to Calais. The place was filthy, in particular the area where milk, condiments, stirrers etc are provided. The breakfast was quite honestly terrible - for £11 I expect a bit more than cold beans, undercooked mushroom/tomato and the very cheapest of ingredients all wrapped up in a tiny child sized portion. There’s no excuse in this day and age for such a shoddy offering.

7.40 pm and all food outlets closed (supposed to close at 8) except Starbucks which have no savoury food left. Even Smith's closed so not even able to get a sandwich. And they've not just closed, there been closed for some time by the looks of it. So absolutely nothing to eat. Ridiculous.

If the place had been cleaned recently, it was difficult to tell, as not one of tables in the food court was clean. Then the toilets, let’s not even go there. Seriously, if you can use the local services before you arrive and go straight through to the train, it would be advisable.

I had the most amazing chicken kebab at STOP 24, Don Air kebab shop for lunch. Best I've tasted. The chicken was juicy and full of flavour, fresh crunchy salad presented well. Frozen chips but cooked to perfection. All in a medium meal deal for £9 with a can of drink! I couldn't eat it all. Hubby (who enjoyed the KFC meal deal) had to help me finish mine. We are definitely going back there and highly recommend. The 24 hour services themselves are basic but they have everything you need at a pinch.

The Eurotunnel Terminus food court had a lot more to offer than just eatery. Infact there was a Burger King and Starbucks as well. Toilets were free which was a good thing. There were currency exchange and Duty Free shops as well although they were limited in variety and had less choices to offer. I found some Parisian perfumes really cheap there but our tour guide told us that we may find cheaper in paris, so did simply let go off.

A few years since I'd been here. It still feels that the place doesn't have the space for the amount of people going through it. It was packed.Ample parking space outside. Toilets inside were fairly rank reference the smell. The food counters were keeping up and had a friendly reception. The dining tables were clean/tidy considering the capacity of customers. Even the bins weren't overflowing. I only saw one lady cleaner doing all this, by herself, throughout my visit.Generally I felt that things were getting better, Only a few details/issues the management require to concentrate on, to make it good/very good.

The Duty Free shop, WH Smiths and the toilets are good but the refreshment places need help. We enjoyed the Duty Free shop and the lovely staff and were disappointed at having to leave after our departure letter was announced. We got into our car, cleared the UK Customs and Border Force, cleared the French Customs (who didn't even look at our passports so why are they even there?) and arrived in the huge car park only to hear an announcement from Eurotunnel/Le Shuttle apologising for the cancellation of our train. Why didn't they tell us and all the other passengers with the same letter and we could have spent an extra half an hour inside the terminal. This is not the first time it has happened to us and Eurotunnel/Le Shuttle really should look into this poor situation or, get a communication link to the Terminal...

Situated at the entrance to the Eurotunnel Terminus services, this is a cute little eatery offering the most delicious, fresh bagels. There are plenty of fillings to choose from and four different types of bagels. Meal deals lessen the cost ( we paid about £18 for three with drinks- but as already mentioned in other reviews, the whole terminus is a pricey pre-journey stop-off). We chose the salmon and cream cheese New Yorker-a lightly toasted bagel with a melt in the mouth filling, plus hot, tasty cappucino on the side- gorgeous!!. The toilets are clean, but the food and drink outlets are incredibly expensive and, if the terminal is at all busy, the queues get very long (not helped by the fact that the staff in all of the outlets seem to be slow. Very slow.Once you have been called to your train you will join a queue of cars. Here, at the side of the queue is a van selling better priced tea, coffee and snacks. The problem is that you just never know how long you will have before your queue starts moving to the train. The guide is 25 minutes before your departure, but I have known this vary widely (either way). There is always a few poor people running back to their vehicles having had to abandon their purchase.

Dog Owners are treated with disgust and made to leave the Building...You would of thought having spent millions of our tax payers money on this Building they would of had some thought for travellers with their Dogs, so if you want to fight the clues for a Burger or a Coffee you will not be permitted with your animal. So its walk the Dog and go without a Pee yourself Great start when you cross the channel it is a whole different Story, yes they have allowed with modern technology for your pets to travel to Europe with you once you have paid for the Passports vet visits and strict criteria that goes with it but they still haven,t recognised the concept from Folkestone End and treat Dog owners like crazy people with the Plague.Come On Now Brits lets finally have a say in our Rights just like the rest of europeans Do!!!!These are our Family Members that give us more Pleasure than our Children do at times and are much better behaved why do they get looked upon as Pests... I have to hand it to the opearators , who did as best they could playing catchup with the delays, and the mass of car queues to deal with. Did us a favour really, in not having to queue for rubbish over priced food & drink .. but I cannot thank heavens enough for the foresight we gave in taking something with us .. you have been warned ! Oh, just forgot ..although NOT related to the terminal building, at the final lane barriers immediately before boarding the train, is a burger van. (I Think) ? it may be called Best Bites ..anyway, this was the best bacon roll I've ever had !

The terminal food on offer is adequate, there is a choice of options and whilst these are not cheap of course, i would say that there are a few options to cater for different tastes, my experience is that in my opinion the terminal in folkestone is nicer than in france.Would you take your girlfriend for a posh romantic meal here en route to paris? probably not, but it is functional if you are early for the train been travelling for a few hours and need something to keep you alive. If time is on your side and you are not in a rush, then i would recommend stopping off at one of the french rest stops for a baguette, and a taste of france.

Used the Eurotunnel for first time Uk to France and have to say it was a first class experience. All the staff were fantastic and we stopped at the departure hub for coffee and duty free, very well set up. Slightly concerned that at no point did we have to show our passports and no one was at passport/security control at either end!

This is a dreary place, where poor, expensive food is sold by people with no interest in service to people with no choice but to accept it.

Serves it purpose and caters for all your needs. Food is very expensive but its rather like a motorway service station or airport terminal and the food is always expensive. Avoid the bacon sandwiches they are revolting.Staff are very helpful and its kept very clean.

We arrived early for our Eurotunnel Le Shuttle crossing, so we had a bite to eat at the terminal building. Outside the terminal, parking is plentiful, and there are large boards with departure information so you know which trains are boarding and what time your train is set to board. The inside of the building has the look and feel of a crowded motorway rest stop, with toilets, a WH Smith, and a few fast food joints. Since this is an international terminal, there are also duty-free shops. No play area for kids, unfortunately, and it was so crowded that I saw a bunch of kids having to eat sitting on the floor. Definitely not a relaxing atmosphere but if you need to use the toilets do it here, not on the train!

Five of us were heading to France so we decided to have a coffee and a quick bite to eat before heading to the Shuttle. Few choices of places and what to eat, and all very expensive. The service was very slow. The duty free shop had little to offer. Le Shuttle is still the best way to cross the channel but the terminal definitely needs a make over.

Well a family day out to France so had a spare hour so popped in the terminal .....walked a mile to the toilets Mmmm put them at the back so you have to walk past the retail outlets. Nice plan. The toilets are great very clean tidy and very polite cleaner trying to keep it clean after every ccustomer buy the looks if thing. One point is where US the children's sinks and hand dryers my sons could not reach them at age 5 and 6. Strange perhops they are not ment watch their hands only bad point about these , world duty free shop. ..... who made these prices up way over priced nothing cheaper than the high street avoid spending there ....food outlets yet again over price but that is the sAme with every transport hub apart from that lots just a basic service area. To have a pee and coffee before you get on the train my advise don't not get to tunnel to early but leave about 30mins before train is due time depart

My wife and I use eurotunnel two or three times a year and have had enough of arriving only to find the only food on offer is some tired looking sandwich place, (what happened to pret a manger?) Burger King or some awful greasy spoon outlet. You seriously need to look at what you are offering and spruce the place up and offer a bit more to the discerning customer.

My wife and I are regular users of Le Shuttle so are regular visitors of the Eurotunnel Terminus. We were there yesterday for a day-trip and we agree with the previous Reviewer. Yes the new toilets are a great and a huge difference to the previous ones but, who on Earth decided to move them to the far end of the Terminus? It's so ridiculous. After the long journey to the Eurotunnel Terminus the firs thing travellers usually want to do is use the toilet facilities. They used to be situated so conveniently for travellers being right by the entrance. Now they are as far away as possible from the car park as they could ever be. I commented on the new location of the toilets to a worker at the Information Desk only to be informed, "They won an award last week". This is as maybe but obviously not a lot of thought went into the best place to locate the toilets. It was nice to see lots of photographs hanging on the walls to the entrance to the Ladies and Gents and this is an excellent 'Plus' for foreign visitors to the UK. The Duty Free shops were good but far too few of them were to be found. At the Dior stand, my wife was treated to a five minute facial with tuition on how to apply lip stick by a lovely and so happy young lady named 'Freya'. A good tip for other travellers is to arrive at least an hour before your allotted departure time so you can make full use of the Terminus facilities and Duty Free shops. The restaurant is more like a works canteen with seating around the TV screens showing departure times. The coffee was ok. I feel that the money spent on revamping the Terminus could have been put to better use and as for the architect, well, he/she obviously hasn't ever had the urgent need to get to the toilets as quickly as possible. Be prepared for a long and uncomfortable walk.

Haven't used Eurotunnel for over a year and got a shock as we walked in.Where are the toilets? They moved to where the old duty free shop was.Follow the signs? More like a circular route march to get to the toilets. At least the toilets are a big improvement upon the old ones.Duty Free shop has moved? Yes, much smaller than the original and certainly cramped.Cafe area? God, that is grim!!!Lots of boarded up units? Just typical of this country!!!All the excitement of a departure lounge and less!!!At least the tunnel experience continues to be smooth, efficient and a seamless journey. The French terminal has undergone a similiar rationalisation. Will still use Eurotunnel, but I won't hang around the terminals for too long!

They are refurbishing the site slowly. The toilets have now been moved and are much better. There are less food options Pret has gone. Personally I've never stayed log - toilets and a quick burger and and that's been it. So for me it does what it says on the tin. That said I wouldn't want to have to wait hours there.

Just used the Terminal for Toilets and a coffee as we didn't have much time. Toilets were clean and up to standard, no queues. The food and drink facilities appeared to be OK, didn't take as long as usual to get a latte, but seemed to be more staff than necessary to make coffe and they were just gathered around the machine chatting. EUROTUNNEL process is brilliant. Checked in automatically, plenty of departure boards with up to date information. The journey itself couldn't be easier.

The seating areas to consume food in are very definitely unkempt demonstrating either very poor management or a deliberate contempt for the paying guest. Someone needs to get a good grip on the place and sort it out.

It is like a motorway service station but not as good. 2 standard size coffees and two bacon sandwiches we over £15 which is blatant profiteering. The coffee was hot but had no other redeeming features. The bacon sandwich was plastic and of low quality. This is a place to avoid if at all possible.

We used the Euro Tunnel service from Folkstone to Calais on the 25th August. We were due to go on the ferry, but the weather was atrocious and there were delays, so at the last minute we decided to try the euro tunnel. We were so glad that we did. The whole check-in process was seamless. The rest area has restaurants/shops/facilities. The food was average but when compared to the Calais ferry terminal it’s like Michelin standard. Getting onto the train was fine and within 35 minutes we were at Calais and driving off to our holiday. There are toilets on the train but we didn’t need them as the trip was so short. We were very impressed with the overall experience and would highly recommend it over the ferry any day as we took the ferry coming back from France and that was a very different experience. Pay the extra and go through the tunnel! There is a large petrol station just after the train exit on the French side, if like us you need to fit the headlight adapters etc.

I use eurotunnel about 15 times a year if the staff allow I drive straight through to the shuttle the terminal is just that the food is hugely over priced and since pret a manger closed pretty much worse then you average motorway service station once you have cleared customs ect. there are toliets and a greasy spoon van that offers good value teas coffee bacon baps ect. so even if you have to wait for your depture you arein a better place

It all looks smart - very 'airport' but the reality is more Motorway Service Station.Ordinary, expensive food options, with long queues in peak time. No breakfast items left at the coffee shop at 7.30am etc.The concession staff just give the impression that they don't want to be there - although Eurotunnel staff are friendly and helpful.Boarding announcements need watching out for.

The food outlets are really very mediocre, and the rest of the offerings not up to much. As with any captive market situation quality and prices aren't the most competitive. Far better to bypass and try for an earlier shuttle.

Good looking cocktail bar with ample staff moving around, no attempt to serve you as you approach the bar, cluster of people around the coffee station taking orders, money and trying to produce coffe orders.Refused service for wine & drinks and given instructions to join the queue at coffe station, time to be served and told the drinks have to be paid for first, this has taken 10 minutes and its know time to go.France do it so well

Concur other reviews about how easy it is to get to Folkestone with it's own motorway exit at 11A. Also concur no need to arrive earlier than 30-45 mins - there is no point at the Folkestone end - the toilets are not nice and the food choice is severely limited; usual fast food fare. Avoid Burger King there at all costs - the concept of fast food escapes them, the rolls have been sat there for ever, the lettuce was actually brown (tasted bad) and soggy and altogether made for a wet bap (meant to be a sausage breakfast burger thing) which went straight in the bin!Great journey to France though - so quick and cheap, esp compared to ferries - could not fault Eurotunnel journey. Driving from Calais is easy and well sign posted. On return journey, again no need to arrive early, but you may be more inclined to do so as facilities at Calais are much better than Folkestone, regarding toilets, Duty Free and food - more choice and able to get a decent baguette there.

Food was bland and disappointing, though it looks like they are trying to make up for it with quantity. Seems the chef doesn't want to be there. If you order sausage roll with fries, it will cost you £9. If you order it separately, it will be £7. That is, unless they give part of your order to someone else and then tell you they don't have any more, even though you already paid and been waiting for 10 minutes for the food. Just go anywhere else and you'll have better rating experience

We tried to catch afternoon tea, but were appalled by the downmarket clientele. We immediately left. Avoid at all cost.

We had booked a room in the adjoining B&B (highly recommended) and also reserved a table at the Famous Ship Inn. Our drive from our home Devon took us over 7 hours (thank you M25 and M20) so we were only just in time for our reservation. The inn itself is very old but we were shown to a table in a modern conservatory on the south side. The food and service were impeccable and the place was doing a great trade, which created a warm and enjoyable atmosphere. This was an excellent dining experience.

We popped in for lunch. We were not staying at the "hotel" so cannot comment on the rooms. The food is excellent, if a little overpriced. As are the drinks. An example is a pint of lager shandy was priced at £6.35 and noted as a pint of Birra Moretti on the bill. I raised this but they said they "could not change it". And the larger used was not Birra Moretti! That is disappointing and, for me, that's a deal breaker.
