Great spot for people watching. Great selection of barista drinks and cakes / sweet treats.

Really enjoyed our visit here, we had a nice time, the food was amazing and staff were friendly. They had a highchair too which was fab!

Lovely cafe. Nice coffee, amazing staff and great choice. Just had a lovely hot chocolate, tasty latte and shared a caramel shortcake with my kids. Staff are always friendly too and Vicki is always inviting and chatty.

Today I’ve had a few hours in Scarborough. I was delighted to find this lovely coffee shop tucked away in the corner of the Brunswick Centre. It’s light, bright and clean with easy access frontage to the counter etc and a small amount of seating and there’s more seating out in the covered central area of the Centre ( maybe 30 seats). Although I only had time for a cuppa as I had a train to catch, it was great to see a variety of plant based milks available at no extra charge. Bonus points for the amazing gluten free cakes available and not the boring gf chocolate cake that seems to be the standard offering in many places. Will definitely be back!

Situated in the shopping centre this place offers a wide variety of snacks and drinks with lots of seating both in the unit and out in the centre. The array of cakes are mouth watering for everyone with or without a sweet tooth and we indulged in a piece of the raspberry bakewell and the lemon and coconut bar - both delicious. Very good prices and the staff were really friendly. Thanks for a great visit

Lovely little place. All on the flat so great for people with mobility problems. Had a piece of biscoff cake which was huge and delicious 😋

Always enjoy a visit to Esquires , sadly on the 28th of December it was disappointing. The coffee was weak. The tea was weak although an assistant did bring tea leaves to add to the pot. The toasted cheese and tuna baguette was only toasted on one side. Hopefully a one off occasion as we do enjoy our visits to Esquires.

Always good service, nice coffee, clean. All you need really. A good place to meet for a chat, but with most of the seating outside in the centre, it's not the quietest place. My goto stop in town to meet up with friends.

A little hidden gem in the now defunk Brunswick shopping centre. I hope they keep this coffee shop open when the (eventual) redevelopment takes place.

Excellent coffee, helpfully staff, the selection of cakes is superb and they are the best you will taste anywhere, portions are very good too 100% recommend this place, you will not be disappointed.

I was trying to talk to my girlfriend, at the counter, and trying to decide what to have. That wasn't easy because a bespectacled, heavily tattooed youth (staff member), decided he wanted to aggressively enter my private conversation. I wouldn't want to work with this lad, I would always be afraid that a customer might not like his tone. Not everyone is as polite as me. In the interests of diversity and representation, is there any chance of some employees who don't have tatttoos?

Good food and drink but absolutely need new staff. One male staff member was incredibly blunt and acted like he didn't care that there was people to serve. The two female members of staff with him were doing their best to serve people quickly but they just need an extra person to take orders or at least clean the tables rather than just leaving them covered with dirty crockery.

Ordered 2 bacon rolls and 2 drinks, only got 1 bacon roll, when enquired after the 2nd one, got told I only ordered one, had to insist I ordered and paid for 2 before they checked again, so after a 45 minute wait finally got the 2nd bacon roll, at the very least I would have expected an apology from a senior member of staff, but no, will definitely not be going back or recommending to anyone else

As a tourist and a family of three we were just looking for somewhere light for a cake and a latte, found a place in the shopping centre, which by the way has no shops unless you like Clinton’s cards or are Fragrance Shopping, nether the less Esquires looked to be a good rest point and seemed. Reasonably priced. The cakes we ordered were lovely and my daughter loved her hot chocolate however the service of one of the waitresses made me instantly regret going there, very blunt, seemed to be more interested in another work colleague than her actual job, I just found her slouched overall posture and couldn’t be bothered tone as a sign as she hated serving me. Normally I wouldn’t complain but I tipped and didn’t even get a thankyou. She had ginger hair and was quite broad. I’m just hoping her boss sees this or maybe it was just a bad day. But good customer service isn’t hard in that environment. Ps. Deodorant is available in shops

Rude staff. And over priced, I know everywhere has had to put their prices up due to the cost of living but when I asked how come it had come to so much the waitress who was on her phone at the time couldn’t have seemed less interested. Told me the prices were on the board. Very blunt. Girl with ginger hair, won’t be going back there simply because of her attitude. Would have asked to see the manager but just not worth the hassle. Just lost two regular customers. I hope people read these recommendations.

This used to be one of my favourite places to go when I had to come over for business but today I was greeted with poor service and attitude, in paticular a lady with ginger her, it was like she couldn’t care less about my order and was on her phone, I also ordered a cake which she picked out wrong. The other lady wasn’t much more helpful when asking about sugars, won’t be returning. Let down

First time visiting the Brunswick Shopping Centre in the middle of Scarborough, found Esquires in the corner of the ground floor. Hubby the coffee snob was impressed with the coffee! Cake was fab - generous portion that we shared together with a fork. Decent prices and pleasant efficient staff. Will be back again soon.

Staff are always so helpful and friendly very welcoming and amazing choices of drinks and cake highly recommend also great with people with learning disabilities

Nice relaxing venue for a coffee break with family, coffee and hot chocolate drinks were nice, however, a bit pricy. Situated in the Brunswick shopping centre with its limited shops but close to the main street for other shops.

Coffee ok, but they need to cover up their lovely cakes to prevent flies landing on them. This put me off buying any cake, so the company is loosing money due to lack of hygiene!!!!

On a recent trip to meet with family we went for a coffee and cake. Firstly ordering is ridiculous, you have to find a table number and then go inside to the cafe to place your order, bearing in mind you've left the table vacant so anybody else could take it. We ordered 3 different coffees, one small decaf as I'm allergic to caffeine, one latte and one cappuccino, also three cakes. We told them that the tables needed to be cleaned and cleared as did all the others. The Woman behind the Counter sent one of the assistants to clear the table, we followed her. When we got a table she decided instead to clear a table at the side where a couple had arrived so we stood there with a tray of drinks waiting. Then another lady brought the cakes and said to us, "I told you to wait" they never did. She plonked the tray on the table and pointed out what each drink was so quickly we didn't catch it, before we could even speak she had turned and walked away. As I'm allergic to caffeine was quite concerned I was taking the wrong drink bearing in mind I had asked for the small drink. So I followed her and asked her if she could please point out correctly which drinks were which. She very rudely said that the small drink was the latte coffee, that is very weak drink, it was not very weak. I pointed out there was no need bebso rube for which in turn she said that I was the one being rude. Basically to cut a long story short I would never return to this cafe with the way that staff treats their customers. I could have been very ill if I drank the wrong drink so I did not drink at all. Lastly the cake I'm sorry to say it was very dry, stale I presume. Very upsetting experience

Visit with family. Went to order and told we needed a table number first which is quite daft if no one to sit at the table while ordering inside. Just hope no one comes along in the meantime. Gave a table number that needed clearing as did all empty tables and informed the lady when we ordered what we wanted which included three different drinks, one decaf as am allergic to caffeine. The lady that took the order told the girl to go clear the table. We went to our table and the girl promptly cleared the table next to ours..we waited with our cakes while she went away and back. Another lady them brought our drinks, put them down and informed us in a quick 5 second burst of words what they were and walked away. We did not catch what she said and went to ask again because the decaf was supposed to be a small but they said that the small was a flat white. They all looked the same. She very arrogantly told us again and walked off. Basically, very rude, unprofessional staff, not helpful at all and the coffees and cakes not good at all.

Rude staff had to hold food in our hands ta as our table was not cleared. Girl dumped our drinks on table and did not bother to explain which was which. Will not be calling again.

Visited today as just wanted a sit down and a coffee. Decided to treat myself to a cheeky slice of the Mars bar cheesecake. It was delicious. Had the Toblerone & Forerro Rocher one before which are equally as nice. The staff are always polite & friendly.

Nice coffee, better than a Costa.

We ordered a salted caramel and a banana milkshake, both were tasteless and undrinkable. All that it consisted was lots of crushed ice, watery milk and very little flavouring. Never again.

The biscoff milkshake was disgusting, it was watery with no flavour and the cream was off and the price was even worse £4.60

I didn't take any pictures 😭 sorrry. but this little cafe has a great gluten free selection. The coffee was delicious with multiple milk alternatives and a big smile from the staff was great too. The seating is a cute little area in just the right place for people watching 😂. And right in town so it's perfect to stop off while shopping. Thank you guys we will be back again.

After having a poor experience at the nearby Travelodge for breakfast, we managed to seek out this gem in Scarborough, in the Brunswick shopping centre. The young gentleman who served us was extremely polite, as were all the staff. We enjoyed a sausage bap and a toasted tea cake with jam and we will definitely visit again during our stay.

Esquires coffee in Scarborough I love to sit down and do some work on a busy day. Staff are great and pricing isn't to bad either!

I love this coffee shop! They offer a wide range of milk alternatives and have a visible colour coded system in place to reduce contamination! The staff are very friendly and helpful, I have been in a few times and they are starting to recognise me now, they are always happy to have a chat and will do their best to help you if you have any questions! I definitely recommend!

I love in Scarborough,I go 3 times a week with a couple of my freinds,we know all the staff and are always greeted like friends ,it's kind of open plan in the Brunswick pavilion and feels really relaxed ,not claustrophobic at all ,like I said I'm a regular and highly recommend it

Not the best service in the world, to put it mildly; however, we found the coffee to be exceptional and the cakes are wonderful. Prices are about average. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the arcade.
