I live in Scarborough and quite often call in to have some food, their Cheese and Mushroom Omelette are lovely, the staff are very helpful and friendly. Recommend 100%

Stumbled across Emma's Coffee Lounge by accident on a day out from Bridlington and, believe me, we were not disappointed. Highly Recommended 👍

A I love this place , whenever I visit Scarborough. This place has been here for over 100 years. I had prawn sandwich and it was delicious 😋. Girls are lovely that serve here. Its so old fashion it's beautiful to see how they have kept the original look. We love it. Its worth while just going in having coffee and cake or breakfast. Food it really nice and fresh.

Dog Friendly, incredibly clean and the food is just lovely.

I'm always on the lookout for another place to find coffee. I spotted this rather quaint café as I wandered around the town. This is a very laid-back sort of place and free from the normal drama associated with loud mouthed females and their awful offspring. I ordered a white coffee and got one! I never had to use a fancy name. They knew what I meant when I spoke English! If you like peace and quiet then this is a place to head for.

A very enjoyable relaxed atmosphere. Excellent hot coffee, and good range of meals.

One of the best cafes in Scarborough. Traditional tea room/greasy spoon located half way between McDonalds and The Grand hotel. Been in business 40 years plus and the deco is looking dated. Quality of the food is consistent. Largely self-service style. I am guessing that the cafe is popular with some locals and visitors who find themselves in that part of town.

Good cooked breakfast, veggie breakfast and breakfast omelette. *Highlight - all eggs double yokers* Coffee abit weak. Good service and friendly staff, despite being very busy. Would go back.

Nice food, nothing special but nice. Service was lovely and welcoming. I liked the decor it made it that bit more special. They let us bring our dog inside at the front and they were great with her too. Overall a nice place x

Use to do a nice decaf coffee, yesterday I ordered one and i could not taste the coffee at all. Unfortunately I will not be returning.

Delicious sandwiches, local chutney on the cheese sandwich was incredible. Lovely tea and coffee stop with good disabled access for my elderly Aunty. Dog friendly too, you can't go wrong!!

Myself and daughter had afternoon tea today. It was delicious and my daughter is gluten free and the effort made so she also enjoy a gluten free treat. I would highly recommend, pleasant surroundings and lovely staff

Wife and Moi, popped in here today while we're on holiday and we really enjoyed it, I am fussy about my almond milk coffee and I was impressed to see here they use Alpro almond barista milk in the coffee which i think is thee best, we also had cake and it was yummy. Friendly staff, very cosy 'covid safe alcoves' to enjoy your food and drink, spotless decor and carpets, clean clean clean toilets, i give emma's coffee lounge 5 stars

Lovely place a bit expensive for the portion size

Came to Emma's today for lunch with my mum for her birthday. We got the fish goujons and chips. They were the best fish we've had in a long time. Chips weren't bad either. We also got curd yard and meringue for afters both really lovely. Staff were brilliant. Great COVID measures. Would highly recommend. A*****

Had afternoon tea here and it was brilliant. A lovely selection of ribbon sandwiches, scones and cakes. This has to be booked in advance (ideally a day ahead, but we were able to book in the morning for the same day). Excellent value, friendly service, clean loos, and the whole place is divided into booths which is great for privacy as well as public health.

Wow! Cakes are amazing and the sandwiches we sampled were fresh and full of flavour. We returned a couple of times and have to recommend the carrot cake, delicious. Staff are lovely, friendly and welcoming. Just what we needed for a short rest bite.

I visited here with my Auntie for an afternoon tea. The overall experience was excellent. The welcome and service were a pleasure and the afternoon tea was the best either of us has ever had. We were impressed by their Covid social distancing measures and the plus was that the food was good too.

We visited Scarborough and happened up this coffee lounge. The food and service was excellent, beautifully cooked and presented and the service was outstanding. The staff were warm, friendly and professional and made us feel safe whilst still maintaining all the necessary precautions during these Covid times.

Good quality food, cooked to order.Friendly and welcoming team, nothing too much trouble for them. Feel very safe and secure with what has been put in place regarding Covid Regulations. It is a definite must visit. As well as breakfast their lunches and cakes are equally superb, tasty and very filling.

I was in town for a particular reason that day. My usual cafe was closed so went to Emma's instead, where I had a lovely jacket potato and beans and a mint tea which came in a tall clear glass mug. Staff helpful and friendly, food good sized portion. Mint tea delicious, would go again. Good value for money.

I have not ventured out for a drink during these testing times... But I can say I felt at ease here safe with all the measures they have in place at Emma's. Track and trace works well and staff are very friendly and inviting even though its a different way of working.Good service and food as always. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Xxx

Had a lovely catch up with a friend over delicious homemade carrot cake & a nice cup of tea .Made all the better by the great steps put in place to keep everyone safe in these trying times, everything was explained in a polite way by the staff , who were very helpful & made sure we were able to enjoy our socially distanced catch up safely .

Always enjoy visits to Emma's for morning coffee and lunch, situated close to town and the Spa. Food freshly prepared and nicely served

I don't normally do reviews good or bad, but felt the need to do so this time.Wanting hot drink while out shopping my partner and I popped into Emma's, like most people and staff we are getting used to all the different guide lines on C19.My partner used the track n trace system and logged us in, and in we went, only to meet a waitress ? Who was blunt to the point of being rude told my partner to pull her face mask up (ok we all make mistakes ) we sat down at a table and again in a voice that could have called in a trawler at a fish dock, told us we would be told when we could go to the counter to place our order, and to make sure we wore a mask.bit if a strange system as surely it would be best to take people's order then bring it to them, less movement of customers means less likely hood of strangers passing each other ect.While we were waiting a group of four senior ladies came in and were welcomed with open arms and asked to find a table, not one had their masks over their noses, nothing was said to any of them.Not one booked into track n trace and the waitress certainly did not ask them for details ect while we were on the premises.We both work in the service industry and the lady who served us simply would not last in our field, in these stressful times a little bit of banter and a helpful attitude go along way,we cut our visit short and took lunch at another establishment across the way.Sorry Emma's but we will not use your services again, first impressions are lasting ones.

I have been going to this coffee shop for a number of years now, and have got to know the owners and the staff and they have always been very friendly and welcoming. My friend and I often partake of their great English Breakfast or toasted sandwiches and they are delicious.Everything has been put in place to keep to the governments guidelines during this strange time we are in now.

Firstly, I must say how disappointed we were that afternoon teas were not available due to obvious restrictions. I have heard they are the best in Scarborough.If the Breakfast is anything to go by, I should imagine the teas to be fantastic. We had two English breakfasts and a lovely cup of coffee. Everything was cooked to perfection and a mug of coffee went down a treat. I am a brown sauce connoisseur and the fruity sauce was a lovely touch. Well worth a visit.

It is a small thing, but can make a huge difference. They open at 8:30. Most open at 9. That 30 mins makes a big difference when you are moving about. Very well organized. Good quality ingredients. Good value.

We called in on spec just before closing time today Thursday 13th August 2020. I enquired if they were still open and if my wife and I could bring our small dog in as the weather was wet and colder today. The young girl serving was so nice and welcoming and advised us of the COVID policy which we adhered too and offered us a suitable table.We had a very nice coffee and hot chocolate and chat with her. She was so pleasant and helpful and made sure we were happy and satisfied. She deserves a big thank you from the Manager.We will endeavour to revisit again whilst on holiday as there was much to choose from to eat and drink.A must visit if you are In Scarborough.We wish the young girl all the very best in her studying and chosen career.John and Bernadette

I went in with my dog, and was made to feel very welcome, the young lady working behind the counter was so lovely. My food was so nice, and I was taken with the style of the cafe and the decoration a hidden gem tucked down a side street. Just perfect. 😀

Visited on 16th June just three days after reopening to find first class improvements for coronavirus safeguarding of customers. Very helpful staff that explained the new procedures which were easy to comply with without spoiling the dining environment. The quality of the extensive menu is high with very reasonable prices. We have been going to Emma's for many years and see the new alterations very positive in all respects.

Enjoyed a light breakfast of eggs with two cups of ground filter coffee at Emma’s. It is a relaxed and classic café with polite, friendly staff. My eggs were good and quickly brought out to me once ordered and had the runny centre as expected.A lovely little place.

We visit Scarborough at least three times a year, We visit Emma's Coffee Lounge most afternoons for a pot of tea and a Home Made Cake or another delight. We have had them all and the taste is excellent, They also do a Home Made lunch time menu.What will you pick???

Fight your way down Huntress Row and past Pizza Hut, Mcdonalds and KFC to find the lovely Emma's Coffee Lounge. They specialise in light bites, such as hot and cold sandwiches and jacket potatoes, but also have a dish-of-the-day which for us was some very nice braised beef. It was quite busy over a lunchtime but still plenty of seating available. Don't miss this gem!

We visit Emma's every time we visit Scarborough. The coffee and Welsh rarebit are the best.

Comfortable with nice cosy decor. Food is always fresh and good quality. The meringue is just to die for. My favourite cafe when I'm in town

The food tasted great, but unfortunately the quantity was poor. For nearly £7 for a full breakfast i expected a full breakfast. 1 small sausage, 1 egg, 2 bacon, a few mushroom and half a tomato is not a full breakfast unfortunately. No beans, no hash browns... Myself and my husband both left still hungry. I can pay the same over the road and that would include beans, hash browns and black pudding. Either the prices need to drop or the breakfast needs adding to, to make it worth the money.

Just popped in for a quick coffee and tea. Decided to have a mince pie instead of a toasted tea cake as it was Cristmam. The looked perfect and tasted even better. Not the normal mass produced ones often served but made to their own recipe. I will be back and get a photo. Treat your self to one you will not be disappointed.

I called in here for lunch while workmen worked on my house. I had a pot of tea and a ham sandwich. It was rather more than I am used to paying in other places but the quality was som much better and it was presented wonderfully

It's like a different world in Emma"s so calm and relaxed, nobody rushing around, everyone's so happy and polite (and that's just the customer's!!!) The food is freshly made and always delicious (when you order at the counter they ring your food order thru to the kitchen) drinks are made at the counter and are always lovely and hot. Your food gets brought to you by a waitress who is always in uniform and extremely polite. If you've never been here before you

Been going to Emmas for years when we go on holiday to Scarborough. Will always love their filter coffee with hot milk. The food is always lovely aswell and the place is so quaint and unique. It's adorable.

Lovely old fashioned cafe. lovely atmosphere and staff very welcoming. The clientel were all older people , appeared many were local and regulars . food was good . I had Jacket potatoe and chilli. Chilli appeared home made. My partner had breafkfast, not huge but adequate and all very nice. We will return here.
