Emily's Tea Room in Kirklees

Visited on a very busy Sunday. They don’t take cards but you can do a bank transfer which is great as my hair cut and shave cost more than I expected. Got the bigger breakfast and a latte. A little bit of a wait for the food but it’s understandable due to how busy they was. Food was good. Exactly as it should be and by the time I had finished, I was ready to fall into a food coma. Would happily go back.

Everything was beautiful and tasty and the staff was great, had little boy with us and they couldn’t be more helpful. Best cafe in Huddersfield for me.

Absolutely thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast I had. The staff were well turned out, approachable, professional and most importantly friendly. The establishment is clean and kept clean as the day goes on. I'd like to see more vegan options on the menu.

The food is ok but wait time massively increased more than I remember it - others inexplicably served before us.

I visited last week with my partner and my child. The food was lovely however the blonde lady who served me was rather rude and made us feel very uncomfortable.

My self and Grandma decided to try the delivery option from Emily's. My grandma had the giant Yorkshire pudding and I had the BLT. Firstly, the Yorkshire pudding was indeed giant, with plenty of sausages (grandma couldn't eat it all) and the BLT was full of bacon. We also orderd the syrup sponges with Custard, which were piping hot even after being sat on the side for a while. All in all, lovely people, beautiful food and fairly priced. We're looking forward to our next order.

Best breakfast for miles around. Good quality food served by friendly staff in a clean, bright and airy place, and all at a fair price too. My brother put me into this place years ago, and now I won't go anywhere else locally for breakfast.

Just wow! We were in Huddersfield for the weekend and used Google to find somewhere for breakfast and came across Emily’s. Visiting here helped to make our weekend! First class service, amazing food and amazing cafe. Can’t recommend highly enough and if we visit Huddersfield again will definitely go back! Thanks team, you’re amazing!!!!

We stayed at the Selfie cottage close by with 21 women. The cafe delivered us all breakfast sandwiches on both mornings then on lunch time on the 2nd day they delivered platters of sandwiches and salads which exceeded our expectations there’s was numerous sandwich filling and more than plenty to go around at a very reasonable price. I will be putting a review on the cottage trip advisor for future guests at the lodge, we will definitely use again on our next return to the cottage. Many thanks to you all.

Emily's Cafe offers a very good choice of meals. The breakfast was cooked superbly and really enjoyable. Roy was very attentive and the service was great. Will be trying the Sunday Lunch menu next. Highly recommended.

Second visit here and not disappointed. Food is very nice, a good proper fry up. Not too greasy or fatty. Two of us had the bigger breakfast and one the veggie breakfast which were both superb. Staff are Great, we were checked on twice during the meal. Only moan and it's a minor one is ordered a large coffee and to me it was not large at all. But like I said it's a minor issue and we will we back Please note it's cash only but there is a cash point in the coop over the road.

Wanted to start heating more healthier, so changed to mushroom omelette. Best decision !! Really well made, full of mushrooms, cannot wait till I can eat back inside with a plate!!

just had legit the worst burger ive ever had! if your wanting a proper burger dont get one from here. absolutely shocking. might as well of got a rustler burger from the shop. disappointed

After years of eating here with a few different management I have always found this the BEST CAFE AROUND HUDDERSFIELD 10000% Once reopened after lock down it’s come to my attention that the breakfast has changed.... Not only the prices have changed fair enough Due to current situations that might be the reason. BUT to find you don’t get a drink with your breakfast anymore is utterly ridiculous!! I understand drinks from the fridge should be paid for with any breakfast but I can’t believe that they have taken a drink off with the breakfast just to make more money I presume. How much does it cost for a tea bag or coffee The breakfast is stil to a high standard and that’s brilliant u just think a thriving cafe like this one should look after there customers and still enforce the tea or coffee with a breakfast!!

Emily’s has had a make over looks a lot better. Had the gammon dinner they let me swap peas and grilled tomato for mushrooms was lovely and hot and very nice piece of gammon. Lovely friendly staff well worth a visit

Used Emilys on several occasions, food is nicely cooked just like home made, staff are friendly and prices are very good, gets very busy on saturday morning after park run finishes, having said that I've never seen Emilys not busy.

Called in for quick lunch, left still hungry! Staff were friendly and helpful but food was below standard. Ordered poached egg on toast and when it came the toast was 2 slices of toasted thin cheap bread & the 2 poached eggs were under cooked & snotty!!! Ordered drinks which we had to remind them we d ordered!! In a rush so didn't have time send back & reorder!! Disappointing

As we had an early start and coming across this cafe open on a Sunday morning we where warmly greeted by the staff the cafe seemed very clean and fresh the service was quick from ordering to our breakfast arriving .the food was hot and very tasty and very reasonable priced if in the area again defiantly will call in again recommend

We go here regular, have done for years. It's much better than your average greasy spoon, they do your breakfast exactly how you ask them to, even if you want a hard egg, well done bacon etc - they seem to have a button for everything on the till!They're super efficient and organised, never sat around waiting too long. It's generally clean and tidy and the staff are friendly. Thanks Emily's.

So we had had a bad experience at the bottom of Marsh and found ourself in Emily's tea room. Now we wanted tea and cake and a flat area with no steps. Three ticks in that box. The last thing was a welcome. They are very welcoming. Parking near the tea shop isn't easy but with my blue badge we were fine. Tea for two and scones and butter lovely. We even took a couple of slices of tray bakes home. I think it was home made, however very nice.

Went with a friend and both ordered meat and potato pie I asked if I could swap my veggies for mushy peas but got told very sharply we don’t do them. Fair enough. The lady serving us was very impolite no please no thank you and even worse when bringing our food just slammed it down on the table. Now the food itself was ok lots of meat in the pie and hot. The mash was just a tiny spoonful and was hot though. Despite the food being ok I will not be going again as felt very uncomfortable.

Had a cheese and ham toastie in here on a hungover Sunday. It was nice and had lots of filling. I felt the decor could be updated slightly and it all seemed a little unorganised but it was tasty and probably would return as prices were good.

Called for a quick lunch and had a prawn salad. The salad was lovely and well presented just a little to much coleslaw for me which I left. Enjoyed the meal

I have used Emily’s cafe for several years now and always been happy with the food. Today my breakfast arrived and looked very nice as always. I was looking forward to it only to find a long dark brown hair underneath my egg. I had literally two mouthfuls and was immediately put off by this. I informed a staff member who apologied, but I was really disappointed to not of been offered anything else, he could clearly see my plate had been barely. I have worked in catering for several years and if it was myself serving a customer I would of immedietly offered a replacement.

Me and my husband have been to this lovely tea room numerous times now over the last couple of months - absolutely love this place, such amazing tasty food, large variety on the menu, open super early everyday, and just overall an amazing experience! Would definitely this place for breakfast - haven’t had any other means here unfortunately so can not comment on anything other than breakfast :)

Had a small breakfast. It was really good. The staff are wonderful always curtious and asking if u have all u need and if all is ok. The place is spotlessly clean and the tables were wiped immediately. Carnt fault it. Fabulous. I can highly recommend and i will ne going again

We treat ourselves on a weekend to a piping hot, tasty cooked breakfast - either a large full English, or a smaller variation. On a couple of occasions I've requested a substitution for one on the set breakfast items on the plate and Emily's has been more than happy to do this at no extra cost. Taken my grandchildren in school holidays sometimes for lunch, and they love the toasted sandwiches! High chairs available for toddlers and pensioners specials for senior diners - very reasonable prices - well worth a visit

This is one of our weekend lunch spots, When the Xmas menu was available we perused it and decided to book to have one, on one of our Saturday shop days. There was 3 or 4 starter choices, 4 mains, 3 or 4 desserts. I had deep fried brie & chutney with salad, A full turkey dinner[ with a yorky!], Hubby chose tempura prawns & 2 dips also with salad,He also had turkey and we both had a warm roll & butter. We decided to take our cheesecake desserts home for later [Strawberry+Prosecco and Ginger+ Orange/choc] these came with ice cream, but we declined as we still had to do our shopping. A glass of wine came with our meals and a tea or coffee afterwards, along with mini crackers and xmas candles for the table, all reasonably priced for the helpings and tastiness, served with a friendly smile. We had a very good meal and will recommend a visit to others.

Four of us visited for the first time about to spend a reasonable amoint of money for breakfast. We haven't been here before and it is a decent looking place (not the usual greasy spoon) however whenever I go anywhere for breakfast I dont eat things like black pudding or mushrooms so I normally ask for an extra egg instead. I was astounded that although I was removing things that I was point blank told I couldn't replace what I had removed with one egg. If I wanted the extra egg I would be charged for it. Now this might sound like me just being petty but I was immediately put off as almost all other places would have done this for a customer. Very disappointed for such a minor thing.

Friday morning at work. And all morning I was bugging my work mates for really nice fry up. Started moaning at 8:30am by 10am we was on our travels to a local place not far from Emily's. Just before I walked in I was collared by a neighbour. Telling him of my hunger he said walk 2 mins up there to Emily's.

I've been here on a couple of occasions and had the all day breakfast. Portions were extremely generous and cooked to perfection. Staff were attentive and had no problem 'tweaking' our order a little. Very reasonable prices. Worth a visit.

I've been a few times but went in the other day for breakfast and had an accident which ended up in my leg being burnt. This was my own fault, but the staff were so quick to respond and help me wth first aid etc and even made me and my mum a fresh breakfast once I had got sorted. So polite, so attentive and lovely food! Will always revisit!

The coffee was delicious. Pushed a little on sales e.g. do you want food with that drink? Reply - No thank you, then goes on to list food options so having to say no again and felt a little awkward.

Been for lunch today with a dear friend. We both chose different salads which were lovely and freshly prepared. If staff membet had smiled and spoken as she placed our meals on table would have been a 5* rating

Brilliant little cafe in Marsh. Genuinely lovely staff a great place for breakfast or lunch. Tends to be pretty busy most days now but you never have to wait long for a table if it's full.

Been here on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed. Food is always spot on and price is more than reasonable! Have tried both the breakfast and lunch menu and felt we had loads of choice; even for the little ones. Another thing that is great is that the breakfast is priced with toast & tea/coffee - surprisingly you have to pay extra for these at a lot of other places!

The food is perfectly ok, classic cafe food, very affordable. Service to the table was prompt and friendly too

Nothing special about this place in terms of decoration. The menus could do with an update. But food is tasty and cheap, staff are friendly and this place is always buzzing on a weekend. If youre in marsh and you want a fry go here!

Visited several times and have always had brilliant food and service, the breakfasts are the best ever. Exellent value and very helpful staff. Keep up the good work. Could do with accepting cards though but not marked them down for a minor flaw.

My girlfriend and I decided to head to Emily's for a Sunday breakfast. It is a really good local and down to earth tea room.

our usual saturday visit, sirloin steak was one of the specials, we eagerly choose this for lunch. it came with chips, mushrooms, peas + fried onions. we devoured our steaks with gusto, very reasonably priced for sirloin steak too. we went on to our weekly shop fully fed + happy.

Service of very high standard. Smile and a natter food and drink choice is enough to be good. Local quality cafe.

Quick lunch with a friend and our 4 children. Very friendly staff, simple but delicious food served quickly and with a smile. Very reasonably priced too. Will certainly return!

We been there many times with our breakfast club. Food and service always very good. No problem, changing items on the set menu.

Emily's is a really good tea room for a value meal or breakfast. The breakfasts come in a number of sizes and always include a drink of tea or coffee and toast. I have been now on numerous occasions. They have specials on the board too if you visit for lunch, Their chilli is lovely. You order at the counter and you are given an order identification number and then your meals are delivered to you. Everything is always tasty well presented and you are not left waiting for too long. This is a busy place and is always clean and well kept. The staff are always polite and friendly. It is a child friendly place. We have attended as a couple and with as many as 10 family altogether and they always accommodate us.

This cafe is consistently good I know people who eat there everyday Really good all day breakfast and both choice and quality of meals are excellent

After shopping in Marsh, we decided to have a quick snack and called in ''Emily's'' for the first time and were pleasantly surprised. The place itself was nicely decorated and very clean. We didn't have much, just a soup and a tea, that was very quickly delivered to our table and well presented and very tasty. We will be returning very soon.

called earlier than usual today [12.30ish], i had a hair appointment later. they still had some good specials available, smothered chicken; that came with chips, coleslaw + salad, pork loin steak with potatoes + veg, scampi with salad, chips,peas, my husband had this and enjoyed it, [he usually doe's]. i chose the chicken, this was smothered with bacon, cheese and had a tasty salsa as well, it was delicious!. we had the usual drinks of a teapot for one and a large cappuchino. we were happy and full as we started our shopping, before going to the hair dressers later.

me and my two pals are some what of breakfast connoisseurs in the local neighbourhood and so we thought we'd give emily's a try. between 3 of us it reached an overall rating of 7/10. the slices of bacon were a bit small and no black pudding on a standard english breakfast was a let down to say the least. We received enough bread to feed the 5000. service was good.

The breakfasts in Emily's are yummy! They are so filling and at bargain prices. Be quick though as tables fill up fast as they are open Saturday and Sunday's. No better place in marsh, and if you are in a car you can park opposite in the supermarkets car park.

between shops, we needed some lunch, so we went to emilys. Todays specials were; liver,bacon+onions and sizzling indian platter. hubby had the liver which came with mash + peas+gravy. i had a usual blackboard staple; meat'n'potato pie with mixed veg, it can come with mash or chips,[i declined the potatoes, theres enough in the pie]. the indian dish consisted of; tikka chicken,samosas,spicy lamb cutlets; served with salad+ raita. it smelt good, i would've needed a bigger appetite!. we enjoyed our lunches and tea + coffee. a call to the loo and we were on our way back to grocery land.

Always serves a good yummy well priced breakfast. Huge plus for me is that they offer a veggie breakfast. Good service and friendly atmosphere

Despite the cup cake name and the pretty outside this is a cafe. They do mostly breakfast in a morning. It's not different from most cafes but not a greasy spoon very clean and tasty.

when we called today the specials had a mexican feel, they were sweet chilli coated fish and chilli'n'cheese topped tortilla chips. i had the tortilla dish, it came with a tomato salsa + sour cream sauce plus a side salad, it was very tasty + not too spicy, though a few too many 'chips'. hubby had the chilli fish, it came with roasted mixed veg + new spuds or mash, hubby chose mash [very mexican!]. he said it was good, more sweet than spicy, so he was happy. we had our usual drinks, coffee + tea, not in keeping with the theme, but i don't think they do margueritas!, [not licensed.]..its a shame, only joshing!!.

on our regular visit during our shopping trip, the 2 specials did'nt inspire us,[ they've been on quite often]. we decided on a sandwich for our lunch, i opted for a hot beef + onion bap and hubby chose a sausage sarnie with our usual large coffee and teapot for one. my beef bap was lovely, fresh + full of tender beef with fried onions and gravy, [i needed a bib].hubbys sarnie had 3 full sausage inside,[he likes the sausage they serve here]. our appetites satisfied, we carried on our shopping trip after a quick bathroom call [which are always clean + fresh].

Always good food and good service from this cafe. It's a very popular cafe and can get very busy around lunchtime (but that's a good sign).

usual lunchtime call between supermarkets, the daily specials were;- beef curry, pasta bolognaise, and tuna pasta bake. we both chose the tuna + glad we did, it came with garlic bread+salad. the tuna bake was cooked with tomato sauce and topped with cheese. it was really good, the bread complimented it very well. we both enjoyed our lunch. the cafe was very busy, it usually is and i'm not surprised at all!

Nice breakfast with good service. Clean . They have a good selection of your usual sandwiches. Not outstanding but great if your passing and feeling hungry.

called in on a walk/shop outing, was'nt sure what i wanted. they had a couple of specials on; spanish chicken with salad/chips or chinese pork curry with chips/rice. i plumped for the curry, it had just the right amount of spice and the 1/2 chips+ 1/2 rice accompanied it very well. i had a mug of tea to wash it down, it did the job nicely! i've been here several times and it never disappoints. i continued my trip out, after a call of nature, the loos are always nice + clean.

I've been here a few times lately. The food is lovely. A very good selection and the prices are so reasonable. Portions are very generous too. It's very clean and has a nice atmosphere. It's very child friendly, the childrens sandwich platters are great. What really stands out though is the friendliness of the staff. They are always welcoming and very thoughtful. My daughter doesn't always finish her lunch and they always offer to box/wrap the rest for me to take with me. On one visit (after they had boxed my daughters sandwich for her) she accidentally dropped it on the floor, I was immediately offered another sandwich. I thought this was really thoughtful even though it wasn't their fault. I cannot fault this place at all. Looking forward to future visits.

our regular saturday lunch venue. it was very busy but we found a table. the specials were: scampi + chicken'n ' stuffing pie. hubby had scampi which came with chips,salad + coleslaw. i had the pie, which came with mixed veg + mash. but i just had chips+ gravy with it [ had'nt had chips all week so i was due some]. both were yummy and very filling as usual. i had a pot of tea[enough for 2 cups] and hubby had a cappuchino, always good and reasonably priced. the ladies always say bye + thankyou.

we lunch here between our trips to tesco and co-op regularly on saturdays. theres always something you fancy or if not, you could tweak the choices a little to satisfy your taste. its always busy, the staff are friendly + efficient, they always thank you + say bye when you leave. today i did'nt want a meal so i had a corned beef,onion+branston toastie, this came with a side salad, my hubby had meat+potato pie with mixed veg [usually comes with choice of potato]. we had a large coffee and teapot for one, all of it was tasty and reasonably priced, we left feeling satisfied, as we usually do.

What a treasure to have on our doorstep. We took all our minded children (10 of them) and they had a great time. They all had their own tea pot with their favourite juice in which they found amusing and brilliant, the sandwiches had good quality fillings and they loved their cake and ice cream.

It is so hard to find the perfect home cooked english breakfast but this is exactly what you get every time at Emily's. The service is great, the staff are friendly and the food tastes great every time, they even make a perfect cuppa!

This is a local café for me so I use it regularly. They have a variety of traditional food always available with several 'specials' every time I've been in.

First time in Emily's greeted with a pleasant smile it felt welcoming and relaxing, atmosphere was good and the place looked very clean and tidy, The price was fair and the food tasted great.

we visit 'emily's' most saturdays for lunch. the menu is varied and all the meals we've had have been very good. i must disagree with 'john h', about not catering for vegetarians, i've had many a veggie meal,omelettes,jacket spuds,salads and they would do a veggie breakfast if asked i'm sure. perhaps the staff member that took the call was new or they were busy and the staff member was'nt sure.please dont let one awkward response put you off paying another visit. my experience of the staff is they are always pleasant and efficient, they always say cheerio and thank us for coming.

I have been to Emily's a few times and always found it to be very clean and the staff friendly and helpful.Today i called them to ask if they cater for people who are vegetarians, the response i got from the member of staff was less than helpful, She kept repeating everything i asked her and just told me no. If they have people with her attitude answering the phone it will make who ever is calling think twice about going there.

Nice bright and airy staff always friendly love the steak Canadian and onion sandwiches chips are lovely as well. Nice to sit in but can be abit busy sometimes

Sunday morning a breakfast treat ! Great grub and sensible prices, Service first class, A great way to start the day off.

I've had breakfast here on three occasions in the last couple of months, sometimes the full meal, others just a hot sandwich. The food was good and the service prompt. It's quite a nice space too. not eaten any other meal here so can't comment on lunches etc. but for breakfast, it does the job.

My girlfriend and I were stopping over from Huddersfield and decided to pop into the cafe before our commute back to Liverpool. Nice place clean ordered two English breakfasts but wanted tomatoes substituted for hashbrowns. The gentleman who said their would be a charge of one pound each for the change. For two hash browns and saving on tomatoes joke. I don't drink tea or coffee I never have so I asked for orange juice instead the gentleman said if you want Fresh...Orange... I cannot state this clearer that its an extra pound each ok fresh orange no problem but there was a problem it wasn't fresh it was concentrate. I don't want to hear a retaliation from the management as I expressed my thoughts to them quite clearly at the time so I'm not accepting any excuse that I should of voiced my concern to the staff. The good was ok but there wasn't enough though and not very filling but it filled a hole. The thing that bothered me the most was that they didn't even say goodbye.
