Lovely tasty food... But we went for brunch and they ran out of ketchup. I mean, just about everyone likes a bit of ketchup on a bacon butty don't they? It's just not the same if you don't have it. I get that everything is organic and home made - but that seems a significant oversight or lack of planning. Also, not keen on the long, thin layout. Felt like fighting your way up and down an aeroplane aisle with staff and customers constantly in each others' way. So overall, a nice meal but slightly irritating at the same time.

Fantastic food and great choices of everything from food to tea /coffee . Caters for those with intolerance with different types of milk etc . Will definitely be returning. Thanks you

This spot is great for breakfast/brunch, surprising spacious vaulted glass seating area. Elianes eggs benedict was really good. Service was fast and the staff were great, especially our waitress carys. Best bit is its dog friendly :)

I love Eliane, the daily fresh salads are always different and they think up such original tasty recipes and always so fresh. The hot food is delicious too. The choice of cakes is extensive and the “clean’ cakes feel like such a treat for those with allergies. The only thing I would ask is that you PLEASE change your oat milk you use for coffee. The brand you use just doesn’t work with coffee it’s watery and almost splits, it really tastes horrid. There are so many Barista oat milks out there that are frothy and creamy and delicious. Please do a taste test and I sure you’d agree.

Quite simply the best coffee I have ever paid for. (Now I think of it, it was better than I can make at home.)

Eliane is an absolute gem of an cafe with such a friendly and welcoming ambience. The food on offer all looks so appetising and the several meals I have had there have all been delicious and well presented.

I’ve known Eliane since they opened. Visited yesterday and it was even better than the last time - a year or two too long past. A team truly dedicated to giving the best in what you eat.

The food here is absolutely delicious. We just had the vegetable quiche medley which came with a variety of different salads , it was fantastic with flavours I'd never tasted in a salad before . When we left we were thoroughly satisfied and felt we'd eaten super healthy food . Well worth a visit.

Eliane's has been a regular stop for us for many years. We generally visit twice a week for coffee and cake; both are superb and we're always made very welcome.

I regularly visit for coffee and toast and the staff know just how I like it. "well done!" The food and the welcome is excellent and i very much enjoy my visit each time. I've also eaten beautiful food there at lunch time. I would highly recommend a visit.

Like many others who have left reviews, we have visited Eliane many times and always enjoyed the food and the friendly service. Sadly not today. My wife went up to the counter to order chicken burgers to be rudely told “we’ve got not rolls”. No apology and no offer of any alternative. So she went to the other end of the counter to order 4 dishes, waited 10 minutes at least and was completely ignored by staff. So we left and went to The Plume across the way where we were warmly received and well looked after. I see from other reviews (wish I’d read them earlier) that there is a theme here and the manager is blaming staff shortages. Perhaps some training and some oversight would be in order? Certainly The Plume will be our go to for good food and good service in future.

We traveled 45 miles to Hungerford because we love the antique shops. This is my third and last visit to Elaine’s. One staff member was really unpleasant and shouty, said there was no available seating, couldn’t be bothered to check. A very kind waiter helped...

Absolutely love this cafe and their wide range of food. Their croissants are to to die for, and they have a wide range of lunch time food including a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan food that makes each we eat there special.

I had coffee and a cake here and enjoyed both. Their coffee is good, the cakes are gorgeous, and the staff are taking the virus seriously, wearing their masks throughout.

Love the vibe and food here but when I was there in September I felt the tables were too close together for comfort re Covid. It felt like they were relying on people to leave a table between them and others which wasn’t happening when I was there.

So happy that ELIANE is still as amazing as it was when i first visited nearly six years ago. The staff are great, helpful and knowledgable, even during these turbulent times they served us with big smiles (behind the masks). Great Covid awareness without making us feel uncomfortable. The food was great, incredible quality and full of unusual and exotic flavours. Can’t wait to visit again soon.

I have been to eliane a few times and I love their selection of drinks. They do nice coffees and some nice cakes. Their beers and juices are good too. I had their three nut brownie and it was delicious. I love their Wakey Wakey juice too, though I recommend asking for an ice cube in it because they make it totally fresh, it won’t be cold. Eliane clearly really thinks through their dishes and food. If you want healthy options, gluten free options, etc then this is the place for you! Their food looks lovely and though I haven’t had anything more than coffee, juices and the odd cake there, I am sure the food tastes as lovely as it looks. I found a couple of the staff members quite snobby and superior. Some of them were lovely though. However I have to say, I am really disappointed to see the way Eliane have responded to criticism on here. It’s really not good business to be seen name-calling and being defensive towards a reviewer. And some of the responses were just downright cheeky. A simple “I’m sorry to hear this, please let us show you what we’re really like next time you’re in Hungerford” would be a lot more professional...

I visited Eliane for the first time with my family on a busy bank holiday Monday, and the staff, despite being rushed off their feet took the time to explain the dishes to us. The food was delicious, super fresh and you can tell that a lot of thought and care has been put into it. This place does get VERY busy so patience is key, the wait was definitely worth it!

We visited here for breakfast/brunch during our weekend stay in Hungerford.For myself I found it a bit of faddy daddy and by that I mean, great for those healthy people who love a bit of fancy food but I’m more of a simple breakfast kind of girl.I went for the Scrambled egg on toast which was the closest thing to what I would call a normal breakfast, I asked for the eggs to be well done but found they still came out looking like slop and the toast which was dry and tasteless.My husband on the other hand really enjoyed his alongside his morning smoothie which while I described as tasing like shampoo he said it was lovely and re-freashing.So a difference of taste and opinion and not my type of food but would be ideal for those who like that kind of thing. Set in a beautiful cafe an open kitchen and lovely and polite staff.

Was there today for coffee/lunch. The staff were not wearing masks, which would have been reassuring. The tables were close to each other, and no social distancing was in place. People and staff were talking right by my table, just above me, with total disregard for social distancing. I was there three hours, with a friend, but felt most uncomfortable with respect to safe social distance kept between tables, and staff talking to customers over myself.

The food is amazing and so fresh and tasty, just a shame the size of the portions are small! Can’t fault anything els. We had a delicious lunch.

We diverted here for lunch with time to spare on our drive up to London, attracted by the healthy looking menu. The food was certainly very good (both tasty and healthy) and worth the diversion.I would certainly return and look forward to trying out their other place in Sunningdale.

A great place with good varied menu for a vegan and vegetarians a like. I had the vegan breakfast. This was a great dish of well thought out combinations of taste. My partner had the scrambled eggs on toast and we were both really impressed. Well worth a visit.

We stopped for breakfast on our way back to Bristol and were pleasantly surprised by the space and by the menu. We struggled to choose from the breakfast menu as all the cakes and pastries on display looked amazing (and huge!!).We finally opted for the avocado on toast -one with poached eggs, one with smoked salmon- and both were delicious. Same for the cappuccinos. The team was welcoming, helpful and efficient. A little on the expensive side but totally worth it.

This is lovely cafe which we have visited several times in recent years on our way through Hungerford. As you enter, it looks so inviting. The colourful and delicious looking food set out on the counter. Also an amazing array of cakes! Everything is freshly made and they cater to allay wide range of dietary types. Today we tried a ciabatta sandwich, scrambled eggs, carrot cake and lattes. All were great. The staff are very welcoming and attentive. The cafe is bright and airy. It is a little pricey, but the ingredients and fresh preparation would seem to merit value for money. If you’re looking for a soggy and cheap bacon sandwich, don’t visit. If you’re looking for delicious food prepared with love give it a go!

We stopped by for some tea and cake and were overwhelmed by the array of gluten free options, it was a treat to be so spoilt for choice.

I have enjoyed Eliane previously and this visit was acceptable. However, in the effort to be healthy, which is good,I felt that flavour was a little diminished. Soup does need a little seasoing even when trying to cut down on salt, and the butter icing on my Victoria Sponge cake was short on the flavour of butter. I appreciate that this made it suitable for others, but for those of us who are not vegan there was disappointment. The salads looked lovely but I wanted something warm on a cold day, hence the soup.

The coffee and cakes are good it used to be very buzzy but now a couple of other coffee shops have opened and it was rather empty.

My wife absolutely loved this surprise lunch date. She has been on and off vegan for a while now, and we've found it difficult finding places that we both have enjoyed. This cafe was warm, welcoming and delicious. The food was fresh and sensibly priced and we loved the quirky conservatory in the dining area. Very happy!

I always choose Eliane for coffee & cake or lunch when I visit Hungerford. Food is delicious with lots of opportunity to eat healthily and also vegetarian & vegan options.

Fabulous food with a great selection to suit all healthy eating needs .Full when we arrived but a friendly waitress told us a table would be free very soon and we did not wait long. My kedgeree was delicious and my husband had a coconut chicken curry dish with selection of salads and rice which he really enjoyed. I must get the recipe next time we are in Hungerford. As so popular the only downside is the tables are crammed in together with little room between and at our central table a constant stream of staff and other diners passing was somewhat intrusive.

Upon a arrival it was very busy which was fair enough and a waitress managed to find us a table. Unfortunately it was then ridiculous. Despite queuing to order the fresh salad, we stood for 10 minutes being ignored (with other people also waiting in front of us) eventually one of the girls said someone would be with us but another 10 minutes went by and then one of the girls served the first waiting customer but promptly went off to do the checkout. We eventually gave up and left whilst the other customers were still left waiting.

Almost put off as all the unoccupied tables appeared reserved, when we looked in but a waitress put our name on one just vacating. Enjoyed very imaginative selection of salads and nice quiche in the architecturally impressive glazed-over courtyard. Nice staff eager to please. A good find.

Nipped in for lunch as the food and cakes looked delicious. Service was a bit confusing; it was not particularly busy, but there was only one person serving at the food counter and it really wasn’t clear if you were meant to order then sit, or wait to be seated, or go to the till if you wanted hot food rather than the buffet. Some of the buffet items had run out, which caused another wait, as had the “help yourself” tap water which meant a further delay whilst the earthenware urn was filled up again.
