Eggette's Kitchen in Newcastle-under-Lyme

Came at 12:20 shop did not have any customers and ordered a milk chocolate Egette . Staff friendly and Polite , think the lady wasn’t sure how to make it as she had to ask the gentlemen who was fixing the speaker to get the waffle out the machine for her as it wa stuck . Took ten minutes don’t know if they had to start again My waffle was a bit burnt and crispy but edible . However , apart from the chocolate flakes on the cream I don’t think there was any actual milk chocolate in the bubbles itself ; which last time there was and it had a much nicer texture . Wasn’t as nice as last time I came , was a little upset but we were in a rush to get on motorway. Edit : Thankyou to the owner for getting back to me and appreciating my feedback . I do not expect anything for free as I do not wish to take away from a small business , your honesty and quick reply is really nice to see I just wanted to leave a review so it can be better for the next time . I also wanted to add like I say last time the waffle was absolutely lovely and I would come again anyway !!

I WISH I COULD RATE IT 0 STARS BUT CANNOT. THESE POOR WORKER LOOKED SO STRESSED I HAVE A DAUGHTER THAT LOOKED THE SAME AGE AND I SYMPATHISE WITH THESE CHILDREN WORKING IN THIS TOXIC WORK ENVIRONMENT. AT ONE PM YESTERDAY I HAD ORDER A MANGO FRUIT TEA AND I SAW A BLACK HAIR IN IT. I HAVE BLONDE HAIR. THIS ESTABLISHMENT HAS BRILLIANT INTERIOR BUT IT IS CLEAR THAT THE QUALITY IF THE DRINKS ARE DISGUSTING. SHAME ON YOU!

I have drove past this shop many times and have been meaning to go in and try my first bubble tea. I wasn’t sure what to expect, we had two different bubble teas and they were lovely. The shop is quirky and the staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back to try more flavours but I think it will hard to top the taro tea I had today.

went on sunday, althought it was very busy the service was quick and all the staff were extremely kind and considerate, especially when compared to others of their age. love the taro milk tea and the tapioca which the staff informed was was made fresh everyday, which i think is excellent, the decor and cleanliness of the shopfloor is impeccable. im in love with the plushies and all the other hello kitty things avaliable to purchase. overall great experience and perfect to take kids to so they can admire the cuteness and taste the delicious bubble teas.

The milk tea was really nice and the interior decor is so cute! Do go check it out if you’re around the area!

Went with my brothers, had both a taro milk tea and some fruit teas which were all delicious. Also got a few of the waffles which again tasted amazing. It was a really quick service and the staff were very welcoming. I would highly recommend it.

The service was super slow although it was friendly. This can be over looked however the milk tea I had was bland and a bit powdery. The lack of tapioca was criminal. I got very little for a large not to mention it was lukewarm when it was meant to be cold. My friend said her fruit tea tasted bitter and when I tried it, it tasted like mouthful syrup.

Visited at about 530ish this evening. Ordered a bubble tea and a bubble waffle to take out. Whilst i was there, i noticed there were 3, what seemed like children, working behind the till. Ordered my bubble tea, then enquired about the waffle cone as I've never tried one before and thought it would nice to try one - I started enquiring about it and then decided to order to which the lad seemed hesitant? To let me order it. Nevertheless, he put it through. They were laughing and joking and didn't really seem bothered about being professional around customers. One of the workers apparently was 'hiding' - I think they were messing around, but when you have customers to serve, I think a certain level of professionalism must be displayed. Had to wait about 10 mins for it all, which isn't an issue. However, throughout my wait, I had to listen to the 3 of them laughing and joking around quite loudly. The waffle - I have attached pictures. Was served to me in a brown bag. When I was given it, I asked, does this not come in a cup? And I pointed to the poster behind the till to which the guy serving me said, yes but the girl decided to put it in a bag. At this point, I was so annoyed that I just left the shop. Half the Nutella was all over the bag? I couldn't eat it and had to wait until I got home. Tried the tea when I got home too, it was so bitter I couldn't drink It and by this time it was 6pm so I couldn't go back as the shop was closed and quite frankly I didn't feel like it either. I ate the waffle but had to bin the tea. Bitter is really an understatement as to how bad it was. I'm not impressed at all. I've had bubble tea from here in the past, and it was really nice I had no complaints. Today, however, I'm really annoyed. Wasted £10. Don't think I will be back here in a hurry. I suggest management deal with the staffing issue and maybe go through some customer service training with them. I dont mind them having a laugh and a joke but I think a certain level of decorum should be exercised in front of customers.

I had a classic milk tea from this place today, and it tasted like water.

Checked opening times on website which clearly stated 11 am. Had a 35 mile journey yesterday as promised a child bubbie tea Arrived at 11.15 3 other people waiting outside as not open. One was a lady who had left her bag in there yesterday and was told to collect at 11. Waited until 11.40 still not open, not answering my calls. Eventually let me know they weren’t opening until 12 by which time we had left with one very disappointed child. Appalling customer service, no apology to my message sent. Poor way to run a business! Will not be teturning

Don't know if it has to do the new employees, but the quality of service, as well as the drinks has decreased tremendously. I was the only one in the store, with my friend, and they took around 10 mins to make the drinks. Ordered 2 drinks, and they both had no taste, it was like just drinking water. Disappointing. Also, don't know what they did to there taro, but its no longer a purple, its now served as murky brown.

Lovely eggettes and their matcha milk bubble tea is the best ever. Staff are really nice and the place is spotless.

This venue takes very good care of it's customers and makes sure you leave happy. It's nice to see some variety on the food available to take away in town. There's a decent selection of Eggettes and drinks. They also offer a student discount!

Tiny place but OMG i had the caramel waffle ....filled with caramel cooked into waffle left to cool into a cone and be filled with ice cream ....cream more caramel and fudge pieces with 2 chocolate sticks ..... yummy xxxx

Went here for the first time after a trip to the cinema, the eggettes are so good, I had white chocolate and cheese and beans, craving them now! My mum had the Hong Kong waffle and it was also amazing, definitely a must try! 10/10, great food, bubble tea is also lovely and the staff are extremely friendly

I was shocked to see how quiet this place was after being in London and them queuing out the doors for a place like this! Food made fresh to order and first time tasting bubble tea. We will definitely be visiting again in the future.

I visited this place earlier today and I am in love with their milk teas! The milk teas are deliciously sweet and perfect for a hot summer day and so are the fruit teas! I definitely recommend this place as the drinks are amazing and so are the staff 🌈! The environment is also calm and a lovely place to sit down and relax with some delicious bubble tea!

Delicious Boba and Egg Waffles!

Eggette's Kitchen is such a cool place. Great waffles, ordered for around 30 people, turned up on time and perfect! The ice cream waffles are amazing - but without the icecream they can be a bit dry.

I visited Eggette's Kitchen on Saturday the 30th of June 2018 with my girlfriend and a friend. There isn't too much to say about Eggette's Kitchen. It's the kind of place that serves pretty cheap but really tasty treat foods that you can give to yourself after a tough week to perk you up! They do a really good loyalty card deal there where you can get a stamp for every visit and once your card has a certain number of stamps, you can get a free eggette (an eggette is the in-house speciality waffle that can be sweet or savoury, try the white chocolate one!) or you can have a free bubble tea. I've tried bubble tea which is standard, it's good on a hot day and pretty tasty but I really love the kinder bueno milkshake. It's really tasty and you won't be disappointed. When I visited this time around, there was no issues with the food or drinks and service was friendly. The only minor downside I had was that one of my friends waited a really long time to be given a bubble tea. I think we waited a total of about 10 minutes for a drink which was pretty excessive considering there was only about 4 people waiting for food and drinks! However, the server was really apologetic for the wait so we're grateful for that.Would gladly have food and drink snacks from here again.4/5.

I was at a training close by for 3 days. I went into eggette everyday to try something new. Now 3 weeks later i still think about it.

Called in for a quick pit stop this morning, brilliant waffles and bubble tea, didn’t expect to place in Newcastle but this establishment is a credit to the owner and great addition to the town.

Nice place to try tapioca and get a variety of milk tea. They also have eggettes which also come in several different flavors, I really enjoy the Oreo and dark chocolate, and it's the best when you can just break it off and eat it bit by bit.

Service extremely slow. Ordered 3 bubble waffles and got 1 bubble waffle and 2 normal waffles. The savoury waffle was made with very sweet batter so tasted awful and it was rock hard. 1 hazelnut waffle that had no hazlenuts and 1 peanut butter waffle with no peanut butter. Very overpriced,the food was awful and definately not as decribed. Everyone was very disappointed as it has such good reviews. Unfortunately I ordered the food to take home or i would have asked for a refund. Definately not somewhere I would go again.

Crédito para el propietario, que me dicen es un Keele alumni, porque la burbuja de té es impecable. Si usted nunca ha probado el té de burbujas, te aconsejo que mantener una mente abierta, con una fría orden de tapioca, y no dar a la primera después de masticar. Las burbujas tienen una extraña textura de tapioca blandita pero una vez que te acostumbras a ellos son adictivo y delicioso. También tuve un chocolate eggette lleno en otra ocasión, pero, aunque sabía bien que era bastante seco, así que recomiendo a la orden uno de los helados porque es probablemente mucho mejor con helado. Gran adición al centro de la ciudad, excelente personal y servicio, sin duda recomendaría en un cálido día de verano.

Eggettes has a gentle and warm welcoming with a very accepting approach. Me and my girlfriend both very enjoy how elaborate the menu is and the fact that everything is vegetarian! We keep on coming back for dates and enjoy sitting on the outside area drinking bubble teas. The eggette waffles themselves are very very enjoyable and have a unique flavour. The variety of options for eggette sauces/toppings/fillings is very appealing and suitable for everyone. I am Autistic, too, and so the environment is very important when going to places like this. The place is gentle, quiet and very very friendly which helps on that level too! The different variations of bubble teas and juice balls make it very fun when trying new ones or picking your absolute favorite: me and my girlfriend have challenged ourselves to have a different combination of bubble tea each time we go! I wanted to try this place as I had seen the queues and thought it must be good, and as there isn't much choice in town I decided why not? I now know why there are queues; it's because there are only 3 waffle makers and the staff as friendly as they are, are slow and not that experienced.

A really nice place that offers sweet and savoury options on their bubble waffles. Only thing that lets the place down is on occasion between ordering and receiving your order can be about 20 minutes.

My partner and I tried Eggette's Kitchen for the first time today hoping it would be all we had heard. As Keele students, it is difficult to make it through university without hearing about the ex-student who franchised the little bubble tea and waffle place- a good reputation is always mentioned.

Today was the first time I've been to eggettes and tried bubble tea !

I had a English Waffle - freshly prepared - with butter and syrup. Very nice. (I didn't dare try the Hongkong Waffle - it comes with peanut butter and condensed milk!).

Tried for the first time today on my other half's recommendation and was not disappointed! I went for sweet rather than savoury and tried a Japanese matcha green tea and chocolate eggette, with dark chocolate (you can choose between dark and milk) Really tasty and a lot of fun - freshly made in front of you, and not bad at all at only £2.75! Will be going back to try a caramel one...

Don't be afraid, people. It's not trotters or tripe!
