my partner had a steak with was full of fat, i expect fat on a steak but 5 bites of pure steak and the rest was fat is abit too much the fries are called ‘ seasoned fries’ which had no seasoning on not even salt there was nothing they were just plane fries and when we told the waiter she was very rude and had attitude with us no apology nothing! which was completely uncalled for then when i when to the bathroom i hear her talking about us to another waiter, very unprofessional and definitely will not be returning!!

Nice surroundings and calm atmosphere. My wife's steak was tough with layers of gristle. She was offered an alternative and requested fishcakes with salad. This order was wrong and although it was offered to remedy she decided to keep the dish. A result of these issues we didn't eat together. There was some deduction on the bill but this still didn't compensate for an overall bad experience.

We haven't been here for around 4 years after a poor experience last time. However we had great service from Louise, the food was lovely and we felt very welcome with our 3 year old in tow.

Decided to try the lunch menu at Miller and Carter Talke. Two large fizzy drinks and three two-horse meals cost £59. We had calamari and cheesy mushrooms for starters, burgers with additional bacon and cheese (£1 extra per burger) and steak sandwich for mains and proffiterols for dessert. We were served by Donnamarie who was lovely and had a great memory. The food was faultless. The steak sandwich was cooked to perfection and the gravy was delicious. Really great food and customer service

Great food and service from Autumn

We went in and it started off great. Mains came and all our steaks were ordered medium but came out raw. We told the waiter and didn’t make a scene as thats not us. One of the party didn’t touch their steak as he doesn’t like it raw. Nothing was done when we told them, they just took the food away and acted like he had ate his food and was happy. All 4 steaks weren’t cooked right, still had to pay full price, as well as the menu prices are without VAT? Very strange and we weren’t previously told about this. This used to be our favourite place but don’t think we will be coming back for a long while. I work in this industry so I know how hard it is but there were plenty of Managers on shift that could have at least acknowledged the issue but it got ignored which is frustrating.

Four of us went for lunch, the starters were scallops, calamari and mushrooms. The mains were chicken and Chateaubriand with lobster tails. We shared a bottle of Argentinian Malbec to accompany the meal. All the food was beautifully cooked and the steak was exactly the medium rare we had requested. The wine was delicious and went well with the steak. The service was first rate, friendly, helpful, attentive but not fussy. My only very minor gripe was the lobster tails which were served in the shells. This made them look good but difficult to eat. I would have preferred the lobster meat to have been cut from the shell after cooking. I would definitely go again and have already recommended it to friends.

First waiter was very polite. Steak was cooked great and treated great! Floor was very dirty with food and other bits in quite a few places. The seasoned fries were cold. They had been waiting on the pass at least when we arrived at the restaurant, possibly made in advance. There was a staff member in the kitchen with a large beard that wasn't wearing a hair net which didn't seem hygienic to me, especially as the restaurant had a 5 star hygienic rating. We hadn't been for about 20 years and nothing had changed in that restaurant since then. The poor hygiene and cold fries was enough to put us off returning.

I'd like to say thank you for the great meal,drinks and friendliness and I'll see you again soon either in the Talke restaurant or the Crewe restaurant.

First visit to this M&C today. Upon arrival, I couldn't help but notice the amount of dust on the welcome desk. Not really a good first impression. The menu's were filthy, again, not great! Food was OK, plates were flooding in blood because the steaks were not left to rest. Service was poor - no check back and slow clearing plates. It wasn't even busy, staff look unhappy and not interested in the job.

The service and food were excellent. It is a lovely setting and a young lady called Beth looked after us incredibly well. All in all it was a really lovely experience.

Last time I went to M&C I was on a diet and chose a fish dish which was a bit medicre. This time I stayed on piste and had a steak. It was superb, as you would hope. Recommended.

Birthday meal for our 14 year old. He loves steak and M & C didn't disappoint!

Food was good but expensive for what it was

We love M&C and they do prepare a great steak. We had not been to this one for some time but started to go back pre Christmas. We frequented another one but decided it was no longer up to par and I have to say the Talke one lived up to our high standards since we have started to go back 🥂✨ The staff and team here have been excellent whilst serving steaks the way it should be done 🫶🏽 See you again soon.

Steaks were delicious as always and the new Easter martini was fantastic. Only slight negative was that we were sure that the bone marrow gravy had changed slightly (like it had been thickened with gravy granules) if so then please go back to the original as you cannot improve on perfection

Service was above expectations, the rest as expected.

Service was brilliant, Scott was our waiter he was very attentive, pleasant and polite, even had a laugh with us. Food was excellent and very accommodating to allergies.

Went today for lunch my husband was given a voucher for his birthday. We choose the fixed lunch menu both had fish and chips it was absolutely delious and the best fish I've eaten in a long time .both had sweets I had the sorbet hubby had apple pie had a couple of drinks it was a lovely couple of hours . The staff were very pleasant our server was great as was the lady who greeted us on arrival thanks it was lovely and excellent value two courses for £16.95

The ribeye was tough and at £32 was well over priced. My wife had the sea bass which was dry and she didn’t enjoy it. I had been anticipating so much better. We had been to Solihull locations in the past and loved it! I was going to book my 75th birthday dinner there but we won’t be back.

I was made to feel very welcome from the minute I stepped through the door. All the staff were polite, friendly and welcoming. Our waiter was excellent and very patient and friendly. The food was delicious.

If you want a nice, relaxed get togeather and food dont go here, staff rude, even when we had to wait for an hour to be given our table that i booked three weeks earlier, no apology, and very overpriced for very little food

As big fans of Miller & Carter, this is without a doubt the worst one we’ve ever been to and will return to. Got drinks on arrival, and from the time we arrived to the time we left which was 2 hours, nobody came and asked us if we wanted more drinks. The nibbles came out with the starter 40 minutes after ordering and the olives had been sat on the pass for so long they had dried out and the serving plate was hot. Didn’t eat. One of the other starters of cheesy mushrooms was congealed and very unpleasant. The steaks for mains were actually very good but the nail in the coffin was the lobster tail on the side. Cut in half and what greeted me was a big thick line of lobster excrement. There’s no way any chef worth their salt would leave the there for a customer to eat. Really bad experience at a place that usually holds high in consistency and standards. Not good to say the least.

Upon our first visit to Miller & Carter, we were pleasantly surprised. Prior to our arrival, we made a booking which was highly recommended, especially since it was a busy Friday night with most tables already reserved. We also took advantage of signing up for the Newsletter, which offered us free wine upon our visit. Upon arrival, we had to wait in a small queue to be seated. There was no host at the desk initially, as the staff were busy serving delicious dishes and drinks. However, after a few minutes, a team member acknowledged the waiting guests and we were seated promptly. Our wine was served, and we perused the menus provided. We opted for seafood starters and decided to try the "cote de boeuf experience" at Miller & Carter for our main course - a highly recommended choice. However, to our surprise, there were limited stocks available, and our waitress Amanda had to confirm its availability before proceeding. We were delighted with our choice as the meat was perfectly cooked and even came with a Lobster Tail. It was my first time trying lobster, and I found it to be sweet and tender, reminiscent of crab but slightly sweeter, cleaner, and lighter. The experience included a bottle of wine and cost £100, easily serving two people. Amanda, our waitress, was attentive, personable, and never intrusive. She, along with the delicious food, truly added to the dining experience and is the reason I am giving a 5-star rating. We will definitely return. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

The steak was really good, no doubt about that. The portion size was good and it was served promptly. However following our main meal it took over 15 minutes for a member of staff to acknowledge we had finished, drinks were empty and used plates were sat on the table ready for collection. We had multiple waiters throughout the night but were informed on arrival that 1 specific waitress would be serving us and we should ask for her. Once we had finished our main, she was nowhere to be seen but numerous other staff were standing around the bar area, chatting, laughing and not coming over to remove our plates. Eventually a waiter came and took the plates. We had to ask for more drinks, he didn't seem to notice the glasses were empty. We then had to request the dessert menu as he was walking off with the empty glasses. It took another 20 minutes for dessert to arrive. Again, by another different member of staff. We then ate dessert which was massively over priced for what it was, nearly £14 for 3 tiny desserts and a little pan of ice cream. We finished the dessert, waited another 10 minutes with empty plates waiting for collection and asked for the bill. That did come promptly, faster than all the other times and we left feeling disappointed, when money was required, staff were quick, all other times, it took ages. I would like to emphasis that the steak WAS good, but the service was really poor.

Brilliant service and meal, restaurant was very busy but we still felt special. The valentines meal deal was amazing. Our server was very attentive and met all our needs. We had travelled over an hour in horrendous weather to meet family, it was well worth the journey.

The food was really good although I request my steak to be medium and it came medium rare. Didn’t complaint about it as the service and waiting times were horrendous. Even though we had a booking we had to wait in the bar to be seated and the bar was filled with dirty glasses. My friend requested the champagne meal and no glass was provided. When she asked for it the bartender was very rude and shouted saying that there were no glasses available. We complained to the manager that quickly solved it for us and was very kind and polite. However when we requested the bill some stuff was overcharged by mistake and we had to point it out to the waitress. If the service at least was average we wouldn’t have said anything. They definitely need more staff for busy nights and review their current ones. What was meant to be a nice Saturday night with friends ended up as a very stressful night.

We were made very welcome when shown to our table. The staff were very attentive to our needs and we were very happy with our meals.

I understand it was busy but we were booked in for 8.30 we got seated at 8.45 to then wait 20 mins for a drink. The starter didn't come out until 9.30ish and let's just say we didn't get our pudding till 10.45 also my steak was not well done and was very chewy I didn't eat it. Normally this place is good but I will not be returning 3 hours we were there

Excellent food and excellent service

The food was very good quality, perfect portion size and cooked to perfection. The service was a little slow but the restaurant was very busy.

We arrived at lunchtime 14th February without a booking.from the minute we arrived we were made to feel very welcome.shown to a table. Menus and drinks all arrived promptly to make our choices. Our food was excellent. Very tasty and well presented. All staff were 1st class. Definitely will be back and would recommend to anyone near by or passing to call in.

I had pre booked a table for 2 in advance. We arrived slightly ahead of booking time, only by a few minutes, it was extremely busy, (9pm) - we were passing by several staff several times whilst waiting to book in. The queue was now out of the door behind us. We were then given a “buzzer” for when the table would be ready. To be fair; as I had said to one of the waitresses a few mins before that I was not happy to wait due to being at work the next morning early, she did come over after a few minutes and take us to our table (one of us is autistic and I had asked for a quiet table on the booking). Was shown the valentines menu (FROM £35 for 3 courses, menu was confusing as there were not any individual prices- so impossible to work out our bill and what we were spending) - some starters unavailable, fine. Tried to order dessert with rest of our order to be told “will do dessert order later” I don't eat fruit or ice cream, so already narrowed down most choices, I went with what I was told….ordered later. When ordering desserts- most things already unavailable.. The food was good that we had, service needs to improve-there were way too many people dining in there- Not a good experience for Valentine’s- I don't think due to delays and the experience and how busy it was that we would come back.

Generally good we didn’t have to wait too long for our pre-booked table. Starters were excellent, my partners steak was very good, however, I was extremely disappointed, I ordered the Sea Bass Fillets which were very very overcooked and dry they were hard and difficult to eat I would normally have returned them but did not want to spoil my partner’s evening.

A beautiful place... from entering we were greeted and seated .. nothing seemed too much trouble.. two lovely starters shared then came the main meal ! Beautiful steaks cooked exactly as ordered ( compliments to the chef BTW) and to round it off a shared ice cream! A lovely night all round which completed our great valentines day !! THANKS AGAIN TO ALL THE STAFF AT MILLER AND CARTER ...WE WILL BE BACK !! ( and we'll try not to stay too late )😂

Firstly the management here was great at fitting us when we called them during a busy period when we could not find a booking online. We have been to several M&Cs as it is a favourite of ours. The food was fantastic, we ordered a few cocktails, some nachos to share, and a few steaks. Despite it being busy, the service was brilliant, all smiles, this particular one is run like a well-oiled machine. Staff are fantastic here and the manager takes the time to check on everyone. Will definitely be back here.

Went for my 40th with my partner... It was amazing! We had the baked Camembert to start- it was very tasty and baked well, however the bread that came with it for dipping was only toasted on one side, which led to some unfortunate fishing for bread in a sea of gooey cheese! I had the 2 5oz fillets and they were cooked perfectly (blue) the beef dripping sauce was very flavorsome and the onion loaf.. Omg please if you get it.. Savor it! My partner had the t-bone (medium rare) again very good, cooked perfectly and we shared a side of Macaroni and cheese (needs a little more seasoning- just a matter of opinion), for dessert we shared a creme brulee... Holy moly... Wonderful! Great service, great food & a fantastic place for all occasions!

Excellent atmosphere, excellent food and excellent staff. The prices are quite steep, but the quality of the food is second to none. The price is the only reason I knocked a star off. Great place for special occasions.

Not very good misses steak very chewy spent over 160 on food n drink inside then another 40 on just drinks outside to be told after three drinks each to move on as there not serving drinks outside anymore booked table at 315 went outside at about 415 to be told this very disappointed

Excellent service with friendly staff. Food fresh and hot but would have liked more variety on the desert menu. A little bit pricey so won’t be going on a regular basis.

Food - The steak was supposed to be medium rare but it was rare. Service - When serving meals, the waiter seemed to throw them. Atmosphere - food remains on the carpet from previous guests.

Had a fabulous meal this afternoon, all the staff were Very attentive, Louisa, Shaun and Scott, were great. The food was very well cooked, as we asked for and quite honestly couldn’t fault anything. The staff seem to get along well together and that environment passes onto the customers xx keep going Talke Miller and Carter xx
