Egerton House Hotel in Kensington and Chelsea

I’ve had an amazing afternoon tea three times since 2011. I was impressed by their heartwarming service. I shall put some more photos here someday soon. ↓ And I just added the photos of my unforgettable memories.

Everything about this hotel is perfect. The food, rooms, martinis, staff etc. Our whole family stayed for 4 days and we had such a nice time. The staff is extremely helpful and goes above and beyond. Because it isn't a large hotel you get personal attention that I've only seen at a handful of places I've stayed. We made great memories here and can't wait to return. Location is also great. Near Harrods in an awesome neighborhood. Shopping, restaurants, pubs, and landmarks like Kensington and Buckingham palace and museums are walking distance. The martinis in the bar are incredible. I'll be trying to replicate back home.

What an amazing experience! From the bartenders and staff, to the housekeepers and concierge, they took great care of us. A special thank you to Mustafa, Rosie, Angel, and Benjamin for your helpful and cheerful service! We are truly sad to leave this place! Great location, great hospitality, and great service! 10/10 and would highly recommend for anyone wanting to enjoy their London stay. They made us feel welcome and home. We will definitely be back!

Nach unserem Aufenthalt in Egerton House werden wir sehr gerne wieder kommen. Der Standort ist excellent. Die hauseigene Bar und das für Gäste verfügbare Abendessen haben unseren überaus positiven Gesamteindruck noch weiter bestätigt. Unsere Wünsche wurden trotz schwieriger Verfügbarkeit umgesetzt und nachträgliche Änderungen wurden vor Ort kulant behandelt. Dieses Hotel verdient unsere absolute Empfehlung und wir freuen uns bereits heute auf unseren nächsten Aufenthalt.

The Edgerton House is a gorgeous hotel! The staff is absolutely incredible. They so nice and super helpful, especially Lili. They gave great recommendations on places to visit and eat. The attention to detail is amazing and the turn down service was a nice added treat. Not only were the staff and rooms incredible, the food was absolutely delicious! The hotel is in a beautiful and great location. It has lots of museums and shopping nearby. It was also a convenient location for getting on at different underground stations.

We visited for the afternoon tea experience and it was quite chaotic from beginning to end. Upon arrival the hotel was being decorated outside for Christmas and there was no clear pathway and had to wait a few minutes for us to be let through. One of the decorators whilst seated came behind me to check the window view which was behind my seat. Staff were polite and welcoming however there’s a lack of self awareness and professionalism. As whilst we was dining, cleaning was being executed, with a Henry hoover in sight too! Very uncomfortable and disturbed our experience as the last thing you want to hear is a hoover whilst eating. Cleaning was also being done downstairs whilst I was visited the toilet. Afternoon tea was lovely but the experience was not unfortunately. Such a shame for a place is such a prominent area.

Everything was amazing during our stay! From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The entire experience was like living a dream. The staff’s attention to every detail did not go unnoticed—they truly cared and it made all the difference. I was especially delighted to find Turkish eggs on the breakfast menu; it's a treat I rarely get to enjoy, and it truly added a special touch to the mornings. Moreover, the location of the hotel was outstanding—conveniently close to everything we wanted to see and do. This made our exploration of the area effortless and enjoyable. Overall, the hotel exceeded our expectations on every level, and I can't wait to return.

The afternoon tea experience was absolutely incredible! They went out of their way to accommodate us despite us showing up on a wrong date. Vegan scones were out of this world! And they even generously shared the recipe! Highly recommend this place!

We had an overnight stay at this spectacular hotel to celebrate a special wedding anniversary. It was a gift from our children and included afternoon tea and breakfast the following morning. It was a wonderful experience from the moment we walked through the door. We were warmly welcomed at Reception and informed that we had been upgraded to a mini suite. The room was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean and there were chocolates and a bowl of fruit as well. We greatly enjoyed the afternoon tea and we both agreed that the sandwiches were the best we had ever tasted. We couldn’t manage the cakes, so they were boxed up and put in our room to eat later. The bed was very comfortable and there was very little street noise in the morning. Breakfast was unhurried and freshly cooked to order - also delicious. I must make special mention of the staff who went above and beyond to make us feel truly special - they are all consummate professionals! Check out was not until 12 and we were able to leave our bags in Reception while we visited the V&A museum which is very close by. My husband recommends the Egerton Martini, but, beware, it is strong!

First, you enter this very cozy area and are seated. Everything about the decor and atmosphere is entrancing. The food was fantastic. Excellent (warm) scones! I loved everything about this place including the staff. They were warm, friendly and attentive. I even had high tea and “fancier” places, but this was my favorite.

Firstly it’s pricey as hell! However really loving place. Small but perfectly formed. Afternoon tea on point. Lemon & ginger tea not on the menu made from fresh lemon & ginger absolutely gorgeous. Hotchoclate not bad either! So nice didn’t even think of taking a picture! Cups sauces and table decorated beautiful, real fire burning, Charles Aznavour playing in the background 😆 food delicious & plenty of it. Last sitting so no rushing you out & the staff very friendly and welcoming. Solid 9/10 highly recommended. If you have a dog you can bring them along as hotel dog friendly & two very well behaved Yorkshire terrier & Pomeranian chilling for the first hour or so at other tables. Even My dog not friendly friend didn’t mind! 🤣. 10 minute walk from Knightsbridge station. Go on treat yourself 😋

It is very hard for me to give 3 stars but it’s best that I give constructive feedback. Firstly I cannot fault the staff as they were all genuinely warm and welcoming. As for the ambience, it was nice but a pretty small space so you can hear everything that guests from the other tables are saying. As for the food, it took approximately 40 minutes after we were seated for it to make an appearance. The scones were served warm. The sandwiches were all very underwhelming. Pity! Also we were not offered refills (usually in places where the Afternoon Tea costs £50 and above, the hosts would explain and also mention that they offer refills). The salmon sandwich was inedible, it smelled so fishy and was served cold in a seeded dense slice of bread. One bite and I had funny vibes about it so I didn’t eat more of it. All in all, it was a one off experience for me and unlikely to return.

This hotel is a fantastic place to eat, drink and stay. The place itself is beautiful and all the staff are extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Having enjoyed two afternoon doggie teas we decided to stay here for our anniversary and had a wonderful time. A glass of champagne each upon arrival in the most beautiful of rooms and, after an evening out, we returned to find rose petals in the shape of heart on the bed, candles and petals in the bath and strawberries dipped in chocolate - the little extras that move "very good" to "outstanding". Our dog, like all dogs there, are treated as the VIPs and the bar food, cocktails and breakfasts are superb. Go on, treat yourself!

Thanks! Expensive but a lovely afternoon champagne tea! Lovely fresh scones with delicious sandwiches and cakes! All freshly made and produced by hotel! My doggie even had her very own special tea homemade doggie food, cake and biscuits! Can even get a special doggie cocktail! It was a really special afternoon for our birthdays! We even got to view some of the lovely hotel rooms! A unique hotel that caters for dogs too! Lovely quiet setting at the back of Knightsbridge close to the V&A museum with a pleasant walk to Hyde park! A real treat! Tea ☕️ was lovely ! Recommend but is expensive!! We had the fun Alice in wonderland themed tea !

Only going to review the bar as I did not eat - They make a fantastic cocktail - it is an old school convivial joint that is well worth visiting

I booked a slot on Sunday afternoon tea to celebrate my husband's birthday. It was such a lovely setting - very aptly called the Egerton 'House' Hotel. We sat in comfortable armchairs at the bay window with lots of natural light and a fire to keep us warm. I was able to daydream that I was at home in my living room (if my house was a luxury Victorian mansion!). The staff were all extremely attentive and made us feel very welcome. Special thanks to Alex for graciously hosting us at reception and answering our many questions about staying at the hotel (something we are definitely considering from what we have seen so far). Also thank you to Sabhi who guided us through the menu and was very considerate of our dietary requirements. He also suggested some great tea and food pairings. Finally, onto the afternoon tea itself. My husband and I are big tea fans and have tried many varieties, but there were still some teas on the menu that were new to us. I had the red dragon to start which was beautiful - highly recommend. The highlight of the food for me was the raisin and dried apricot scones. And my husband got a special cupcake with a candle for his birthday. We were also able to order extra sandwiches, so by the time we got to the cakes we were feeling full! We took away what was left and will be enjoying that tomorrow.

What a joy to find somewhere that accepts dogs (often more well-behaved and cleaner than children!) and even better that they allow them to join their owners for afternoon tea (as well as other meals if you're staying there, I believe). We went for my 50th birthday celebration as I couldn't think of a better way of spending it than with my husband AND my lovely dog, Pete, the Pug. Not only were we very warmly received but the standard of both the human and canine afternoon teas were superb. We have experienced afternoon teas at both The Ritz and Claridges (the latter of which does have a very good jam!) and whilst these were both excellent, the tea at The Egerton House Hotel far surpassed both. I highly recommend it, especially as the waiter took the time to explain the flavourings of all the teas on offer and how they might best match the various elements of the food, which led us to try a couple of different teas that were quite delicious! As for Pete, I don't think he could quite believe that the chicken and beef meatloaf that had suddenly found its way to a bowl on the carpet in front of his face was actually for him, so he wolfed it down as quickly as possible! He was offered seconds, but we declined, much to his disgust. He did, however, still have a bowlful of homemade doggy biscuits and an ice-cream to come! I should also mention that the glass of Champagne we added to our afternoon tea (it was my big birthday, after all!) was excellent. Highly recommended!

My wife and I have established a tradition of staying at the Egerton for a few nights sometime in the weeks before Christmas. This year we took in a number of shows and some serious shopping in the nearby Knightsbridge stores.

We were both really looking forward to the afternoon tea but when we arrived we were shown to a table in a room downstairs that was very small and had no ambience or atmosphere. The sandwiches were underwhelming and the fillings were on the small side. Considering this was near to £100 for two people we didn’t feel it was anything special. The service was ok, we didn’t get offered a tea for the scones as the server came back when we had finished them. Overall disappointing.

The Egerton House staff is in a wonderful location, but it's the staff that makes this such a memorable place to stay.

We made reservations for a large party. Special, is how I would describe the experience. Fabulous time with friends. Cozy area, so I differently suggest making a reservation. Etsy, the bar tender was a fabulous host. The appetizers were amazing. Highly recommend to start or finish an evening.

Afternoon tea a delightful experience. Ambiance, tea, and mini sandwiches, scones and deserts were wonderful. If you’re fond of puppies, it’s a hot spot for dog lovers too.

We booked for a doggy afternoon tea. It was a great experience. We took our two dogs with us; they both are very excitable and have sensitive tummy. To begin with, staff were super nice and helpful. We all felt very welcome and comfortable, it doesn’t normally happen as our dogs are young with lots of energy. Food was great, we enjoyed ours and dogs loved theirs. Good selection, we ordered one Vegan and one traditional afternoon tea, both delicious! I would certainly go back and highly recommend it to people who love their dogs and want to treat them.

I love the breakfast room. It's such a lovely place to start the day. The staff are absolutely the best!

We had a fantastic time having the Doggie Afternoon Tea on Father's Day. The staff were extremely attentive, food was fresh and tasted delicious. We had two vegetarians in our party who are carted for very well. The dog was more than welcome and thoroughly enjoyed his afternoon tea and was made a fuss of by the staff and management. Will definitely be returning.

I had researched various afternoon tea services in London and discovered that the Egerton House offered a vegan option. We arrived at 2 p.m. on a Sunday and the gentleman at the front desk seated us. The room was quite chilly and I was surprised there was no fire in the fireplace that dominated the room. Our first waiter greeted us and he seemed a bit confused about the vegan reservation and combining it with a non-vegan tea for my partner and was also confused about adding champagne to the service. His facility with the English language seemed a bit lacking. He brought us our champagne and then took our tea order. We expected the sandwiches to come first with the champagne but he disappeared. The room at that point was empty except for the two of us so we were a bit surprised at the lack of attention. Eventually our scones and sandwiches were delivered by a different waiter. He described in detail our sandwiches and sweets. The sandwiches were soggy and tasteless. My vegan scone with coconut clotted cream was quite tasty but the other vegan baked sweets were inedible. My partner's sandwiches and sweets were unremarkable as well. Neither waiter ever checked back to warm up our tea or offer us a different tea as they had promised. We asked for the check and left. The bill came to 140 British Pounds and was an outrageous sum considering the product that the Egerton House Hotel delivered. We paid just a little bit more for our afternoon tea at Claridge's a few days earlier and it was flawlessly executed. This experience was extremely disappointing given what we were charged.

So impressed with the staff, hotel building and afternoon tea at this hotel!! We took our dog along for the doggy afternoon tea option and it was so much fun - homemade doggy biscuits, dog ice cream and dog meat loaf. The traditional afternoon tea was delicious - so much variety and you can have as much as you want - honestly we were stuffed! Such a special thing to do would recommend for a special occasion or celebration

Joao was amazing, super knowledgeable and also amazing with the doggies! Wouldn’t have been the same without him keeping the dogs distracted long enough for us to have a sandwich! A super fun day out x Thanks again Joao! X

I’ve never had such a personal, friendly experience as I had when staying with my boyfriend at Egerton House. Little did I know that my boyfriend had already told the hotel he was planning to propose that weekend! From real rose petals scattered on the bed to chocolate covered strawberries and lots of little candles, the hotel staff went all out to create the most romantic weekend possible.

Our recent 2 night stay at the Egerton House hotel was simply outstanding. The staff are delightful without exception and deliver an excellent guest service with a real family feel. Attention to detail was exemplary especially our bedroom which had pretty much everything a guest could possibly need during a stay in London.

I believe all visitors to London should indulge in High Tea at least once. Even my French Bulldog, Louis, was able to join in the experience thanks to Egerton House Hotel. Their Doggy High Tea includes homemade meatloaf, biscuits, and a frozen treat. The human version included too many things to possibly mention but all of them were delicious.

We had the doggy afternoon as a bit of fun. The human afternoon was delicious, we struggled to finished but they will box up the leftover cakes for you. Our dog enjoyed her afternoon of meatloaf, biscuits and dog friendly ice cream.

My wife was given a voucher for afternoon tea at this fine hotel. We had the best table in the bay window where we can see outside to the comings and goings and to the busy service inside.

I was bought an afternoon Tea here as a gift. It isn’t cheap.

Wife and I spent afternoon tea with the hotel and had a very laid back and delicious adventure. Options for vegan, traditional, champagne, or tea with your dog make this a very flexible meal.

We spent a week at the Egerton House and their breakfasts were incredibly delicious and diverse.

We stayed at this lovely hotel and will definitely be back very soon. We also had tea there and enjoyed their food and their wine. Loved the bar, loved everything about it!! Highly recommend!

No puedo expresar lo bonito que era el té de la tarde. Elegí el Egerton House y el hotel porque me ofrecieron el té de la tarde con varios menús para diferentes necesidades dietéticas especiales. Llevé a mi hijo de 13 años, como regalo de cumpleaños. Nos lo pasamos de maravilla. Ambiente agradable. Nuestros camareros eran encantadores. Té de la tarde era genial. Sabrosos sandwiches, si un poco diferente. Bollos eran enormes y Devon crema cuajada no mis Raíces cornish :-) pasteles eran agradables. Bien merece una visita y el dinero.

Escogí el Egerton House Hotel para celebrar el cumpleaños de un amigo, ya he oído que el té de la tarde vegano fue increíble, y las críticas eran justo! Mi bocadillos eran una variada y sabrosa selección (mi favorito era el asado de vegetales, pero a mí me impresionó la coronación de garbanzos), los bollos también eran servidos con crema batida y coco delicioso pastel de mi selección fue sin duda el mejor en la mesa. Todo el personal era increíblemente amable y servicial, y no podía haber hecho más por nosotros. Una tarde perfecta era incluso mejor por el aspecto de Dylan, la divina Wheaten Terrier en la mesa de al lado. Si cada restaurante se admiten perros, el mundo sería un lugar mejor. Gracias Egerton House, volveremos!

Glorious afternoon tea in the drawing room.Wonderful choice of savouries and sweet treats.The highlight,however,was the visiting King Charles Cavaliers at the next table having doggy afternoon tea!

Rather than an empty calorie afternoon tea I asked for a vegetable dish, they returned with an delicious mini-dinner for me, healthy, tasty and so unique!

The afternoon tea was delicious. The staff was very attentive. The food had a good assortment and was beautiful. I could not help but take a picture just because it was so lovely!

Visitar Londres en febrero, mi hija me regaló el té de la tarde. Como ella es vegetariana y soy vegetariana expresamente elegido El Egerton. La comida era magnífica, opción maravillosa. La bienvenida que recibimos fue magnífica, nos hicieron sentir muy especial, se hizo todo lo posible por cuidar de nosotros. Simplemente no podía comer de todo, así que no hay problema. . . Bolsas poco. nos dieron para llevar. El mejor té de la tarde y vale la pena. Qué experiencia xxx

Como merienda? Nunca había experimentado el té? Venir aquí. Comer. Comer un poco más. Ser feliz. Parte más increíble? Tienen menús vegetarianos y sin gluten opciones high tea. Hubs y tuve el té vegano alta. Su respuesta: si vegetariano siempre sabían de esta manera, me gustaría ser un vegetariano! Hahah. Realmente delicioso. Vaya aquí. Disfrutar. Two best friends came to celebrate their 40th Birthday and had the most amazing and fantastic time. The vegan afternoon tea was an absolute delight and not a falafel insight!

Ambos acordamos todo fue excelente, la comida era genial, especialmente el té de la tarde era tan creativa como vegana, delicioso y mucho mayor que cualquier otro que había tenido antes. Wanted to give jour kids the experience of afternoon high tea but couldn't deal with one of the fancy hotels after a day of sight seeing. The Egerton House was perfect. The staff was extremely friendly and professional, impeccable service. The setting is very cozy and welcoming. The pastries and tea were delicious. It was perfect.

We went for a tea last week. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and efficient. Our party of five comprised one vegan, one gluten-free and one, grain-free food, dog. These dietary needs did not phase the hotel at all. There is an excellent choice of teas amd all the savouries and sweet items were delicious. I cannot fault this hotel for its cream tea menu - the best one I have had to date.

Had such a nice vegan afternoon tea here in their drawing room! The staff were very friendly and service was impeccable; we felt like royalty. Highly recommend for anyone with food intolerances.

Martinis are prepared table side to order. We prefer gin to vodka. The glasses and gin were ice cold after emerging from the freezer. Just a hint of vermouth, lemon zest, curl and gin. The glasses were carefully moved from the preparation cart to our table. The first sip emitted the fragrance of lemon and could not be picked up off the table, so we leaned in and enjoyed the first taste. Absolutely Amazing! The candied walnuts, crackers and other nuts completed the experience. A must do when in London if you enjoy a fabulous martini.

Tuve una tarde de té y fue uno de los mejores que he probado. Había cinco sándwiches, las cuales estaban deliciosos y frescos. Ellos bollos era cálido y perfecto con mermelada y crema cuajada y lo mejor que he tenido. Había varias tartas y dulces y todas las que eran deliciosos, pero no podía probar todos ellos. La sala de estar donde se sirve té es bastante acogedor y sentarse en su propia sala de estar.

Vine aquí para el té de la tarde el perro con algunos amigos. De haber estado en muchos tés por la tarde antes, mis expectativas eran bastante altas, sin embargo, nos decepcionó por un largo de 45 minutos de espera para la comida una vez que llegamos y la espera de 30 minutos cuando se solicite. La comida era bastante mala y las porciones son muy limitadas. Para mantener más se convirtió en algo vergonzoso pedir. Yo propondría que al menos la mitad de precio para el té de la tarde. Para hacer las cosas peor que cobran cargos de servicio, aunque pagamos este no eran clientes contentos.

My husband and I had Afternoon Tea at the Egerton on our first day in London. It was a lovely experience. This was our first time having formal tea so we weren't sure what to expect. However, we were not disappointed. The friendly and knowledgeable staff explained to us the various tea options. So we decided to go with the Assam blend. We absolutely loved it. After a few cups, we were brought a three tiered tray with finger sandwiches, scones and cakes.We continued to enjoy more tea as well. Everything was delicious! We stayed for an 1 1/2 and enjoyed every minute. It was truly an amazing way to kick start our London Trip!

Our first trip to London did not disappoint and the Egerton House Hotel & staff was a big part of the reason why we had such a great experience. Not only was the staff warm and welcoming, they also helped two novice international travelers get around town (and out of town to Liverpool and back) and made us feel comfortable from the minute we stepped through the door. Accommodations were first rate, especially if you are looking for a more intimate, B&B type vibe. Great location - in the heart of it all but still feels private. Close to great shopping and all major tourist spots either by foot or a quick walk to the underground. Can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay. You won't go wrong with the Egerton!

We went to Egerton House Hotel for afternoon tea for my husband's birthday. It was a really special experience, the service was impeccable and so well personalised, the dining room was elegant and beautiful, and the staff were absolutely lovely. Not only were they able to provide vegan afternoon tea, with a full range of vegan (and very tasty!) sandwiches, scones, cakes and pastries, but they also do a special 'doggy afternoon tea', with homemade meatloaf, biscuits and doggy ice cream as well as a toy. Overall an amazing afternoon and we'd highly recommend it for a special occasion.

We had a fantastic afternoon tea. The food was delicious and the staff were extreamly attentive and friendly. We were able to take our dog Crumble with us and they treated her like royalty. Nothing was too much trouble and we will definitely be returning again in the future.

A group of us had afternoon tea here recently. The front of house welcome is nice and friendly, and the 'salon' is really pretty and intimate. We had specified some special dietary requirements which were well catered for. The food itself was nice enough. The things that spoiled it for us were the way some of the staff behaved - one waiter scratching his ear and fiddling with his hair whilst serving us our food, another telling us that our table would be needed in 30 minutes but no need to rush, being patronised by a team member, and the bizarre inability to make a decent pot of tea (either so strong it was undrinkable, or too weak). These are all things which are easily remedied through training, but make the difference between a great experience and a mediocre one. The hotel also allow dogs in to the tea room where they can have their own tea. It's quite a nice idea. Some people will be fine with that - unfortunately none of us were. For all these reasons, it's a 3 out of 5 for me. Disappointing seeing as 2 of us travelled almost 2 hours to get there just for tea.

During our vacation planning for our vacation to London, I asked around to people who had traveled there if they had experienced a tea in London and where they would recommend. Many recommended tea service at larger, more well-known places that were very touristy. However, this is not the experience I was looking for. After doing significant searches online, along with reviews, I stumbled upon the Egerton House Hotel. Just down the street a few blocks from the famous Harrod’s Department Store, I loved this quaint boutique hotel and their small dining area that appears to be in the former living room of this restored residence. I was able to make reservations easily through email communication; and during my online searches, was also able to find a discount that was offered. I mentioned it in my emails, and they honored what I found; they made making a reservation very easy! We arrived at our allotted reservation time, and greeted promptly. We were shown to our table, which was waiting for us. Our server arrived promptly, walked my husband and I through the process, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We were in a very special, quiet environment; not loud or high traffic. It was quite quaint; and I would definitely recommend this spot for tea any time. I would definitely return when I would be in London!

Found this online by looking for something different to including the family dog...afternoon tea sounded perfect as a Mother's Day treat. Arrived and was pleasantly surprised the staff are all a credit to the Egerton House, courteous, friendly and extremely professional. The only downside would be that you would pay a similar price for afternoon tea in somewhere like the Ritz, Fortnum & Mason etc and the quality would be amazing. The sandwiches were great, the scones a bit stale and far too many desserts.

This was our first traditional English afternoon tea and the experience was truly memorable! The tray of sanwiches, scones and cakes was plentiful, the teas full of flavor, and the service (by Joao) absolutely impeccable. And the milieu is like a time machine, it takes you away from the hustle and bustle and you just focus on the here and now. Strong recommendation.

Our favorite afternoon tea here in London so far! The setting is perfect and makes you want to sit and drink tea all day.

Egerton House Hotel is extremelly charming and well located. Service is really friendly and high quality. All the staff do their best to make you feel comfortable .We came for a short stay so location is key to enjoy the city.A high point is the bar, where Esley, the barman, not only prepares fantastic martinis but give you great advice on restaurants. He niver missed one with us. And, again, do try his martinis!

Upon arrival the staff were very warm and welcoming. Coming from behind the reception desk to greet us and take our coats and buggy to place in the cloakroom. We were then shown through to our reserved table which was in the sitting room. It was a bit tight but still really nice. High chair provided. Beautiful chairs and open fire going it felt all cosy. We ordered the traditional afternoon tea and the vegetarian afternoon tea. Only the sandwiches were different which was nice as I wouldn't want to feel left out of the cakes. My favourite sandwich was the cream cheese and cucumber it was so fresh and the cucumber wasn't cut too thin so it didn't feel slimy and you could actually taste the cream cheese. All the sandwiches were nice. The scones 1 fruited and 1 plain each were nice and tasty with tiptree jam and clotted cream and a sliced strawberry to top it off. Really stuffed by now so only tried the cakes a little. Lemon one was lovely. The whole lot was refillable and it would be rude not to. As much tea or hot chocolate as u like. The staff were amazing as in they couldn't do enough for the 18month old we had with us. Colouring pack a teddy, entertaining her. Overall it was a lovely experience and Sahbi was a great host.

We were a group of 3 and arrived for afternoon tea at 2:30pm. We were sat away from the window, at a little table in the corner, which felt a little too small for a group of 3. At the beginning it was just us and one other table and it took quite a while to order our selection of teas. The food then arrived and explained to us. Apart from the salmon sandwich, which had a very tasty bread, we felt the sandwiches were really lacking filling, which was disappointing. My friend and I halved all the cakes as there was one of each. We prefer to have two of each so no awkward choosing needs to happen! The scones were nice but it would have been nicer to have fresh jam, rather than pots of jam. The service, although very pleasant, was very infrequent, and we had to wait for someone to pass before we could ask for more tea, the bill etc, which slightly took away from the experience. With service charge, it came to £45 each. We have been to several hotels for afternoon tea and felt that the quality of food and service didn't really match how much we each paid, compared to others, e.g. Royal Horseguards. A pity but the company still made it enjoyable

This is a pretty hotel tucked away from the main road. I went with friends for afternoon tea. Overall it was disappointing and certainly not worth the £40 + £5 service charge. Compared with other places we have visited for afternoon tea with a similar price tag this was definitely lacking. Sandwich fillings average, one interesting bread with the salmon filling but overall mediocre and certainly nothing special. We cut the cakes up to have a taste of each, would not really have expected to do that for this cost, many places put one per guest. The scones were tasty but had to ask for jam to accompany, in addition had to seek out a waiter to ask for more tea. Average and overpriced.

This hotel is a peaceful haven for a delicious afternoon tea. The sandwiches were delicious, the scones even more so and then you realise there are cakes on the top layer still to eat. Add to this sparkling champagne and a choice of teas and the afternoon is complete.

Wow, I've had a lot of nice scrumptious afternoon teas, in and out of London. This is on my list as one of the best. The sweets are big, generous and lovely, but for me the sandwiches were the best. You can get extra sandwiches if that's what you desire.

Sadly we stay only for 1 or 2 nights at a time as we live close to London. However it is always a joy to arrive and receive such a wonderful welcome. The staff are always charming and really can never do enough for you. The rooms are cosy, beautifully decorated and the attention to detail is perfect. There is no restaurant however you can get breakfast, which is always outstanding, and lovely snacks are available in the lounge and bar. Have not had the full tea but it does look good.The bar could not be friendlier. There you are welcomed by 2 wizard bartenders. Also many local people call in for drinks so it must have something good going for it.I have not mentioned names because every one of the staff is friendly and they are always smiling.My wife and I consider this our London townhouse.

A beautiful boutique hotel centrally located in Knightsbridge with a lovely, cozy parlor and intimate bar. You will feel like you are in someone's home rather than a hotel and the barkeep, Esley, will make you feel like an honored guest. And... "oh the martini"!! Prepared table side as you relax on the couch or a comfy chair in the parlor or seated at the small bar, Esley takes the simple, yet often poorly prepared martini to an art form. Perfectly chilled and prepared with the steady hand of a surgeon, this is pure martini nirvana.We also enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea in the same parlor. Relaxed, not stuffy like some larger hotels. Again, like being a guest in someone's home. Sandwiches, pastries, and scones were all fresh and delicious.

I went to afternoon tea at the Egerton House hotel today, which was pleasantly suprising. The hotel itself is quite small but very cosy, not far from the busy streets of Kensington.I booked the afternoon tea through afternoontea.co.uk with a 25% discount. It was worth the price. The sandwiches were delicious, especially the salmon and the cucumber and cream cheese. However the scones were disappointing, they were very large and doughy in the middle. I wasn't quite sure if they were completely cooked through. Our host Juan was very friendly and inviting. He was attentive and advised us on the best teas to have. Before we left, we were offered bottles of water and snacks to take away. I thought that was quite nice individual touch. Overall I think the offer on afternoontea.co.uk justifies the quality of the experience at the Egerton House hotel.

A perfect hotel with an Afternoon Tea room which looks like a luxurious living room. The staff was courteous and attentive. The tea selection is not very large but totally sufficient with about 15 tea's of an extraordinary quality. The Afternoon Tea étagère with sandwiches, scones and petit fours were traditional; just fresh and delicious.I was surprised by the location because it was the first Afternoon Tea experience for me which was held in such a cozy environment where is place for about 10 to 12 people for the Afternoon Tea. It just felt like being in a private living room.Thanks to the lovely staff who created a perfect afternoon ;-)

This hotel is fantastic, one of the best I have stayed at aboard or in the US. A small boutique hotel in Knightsbridge, steps away from Harrods, this hotel has impeccable service and gorgeously appointed rooms. The highlight is the hotel bar, where during the day they serve a traditional afternoon tea, and in the evenings the bartender Esley serves the best martinis in London, or the world for that matter. Not shaken or stirred, but ice cold and straight up, they are perfect. The hotel is in a quiet residential neighborhood with easy access by foot or the underground to all the major attractions. This hotel is truly special, don't miss your opportunity to stay here.

We booked afternoon tea after reading this hotel was dog friendly and wanted to bring our little pug with us. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and immediately made a fuss of our little pug. Afternoon tea was delicious and very accommodating with sandwich choice. Scones superb as were the cakes & pastries. The manageress even came by to say hello to our dog and bring him a little toy. It was a great afternoon and definitely we'll be back - with the pug!

What a lovely boutique hotel. Perfect location, within walking distance of V&A, Natural History Museum, Harrods, nice restaurants, pubs and parks. Rooms were super comfy, staff could not have been kinder.

The Egerton House Hotel is a peaceful and elegant escape from the crowds and noise of Knightsbridge. The service and attention to detail is of the highest standard. As your tea arrives (a tempting plate stand filled with beautifully presented food), you are requested to take your time. We did! We were not under any pressure to hurry up, as we relaxed and took 2.5 hours over the meal. We will be back.
