We were looking for the most affordable yet highly reviewed afternoon tea and we found this place! I highly recommend it if you want a delightful afternoon tea experience. The sandwiches were deliciously fresh and satisfying. The scones and jam were so wonderfully paired. The little desserts were indulgently rich and sweet. We had gotten a banana foster type of cake which was a melt in your mouth explosion of flavor! Never had anything like it before! I noticed different tables would get slightly different desserts on top which I also thought was great! I ordered the masala chai which was heavenly paired with milk and sugar. My wife got the jasmine lychee tea and it was basically boba without the boba. It tasted amazing with decadent sweet and floral notes. The service was also very attentive. The interior felt like a proper tea room, beautifully painted walls, ceilings, the tea kettles and china. Would definitely come back!

Such a beautiful and affordable spot for an afternoon tea! I tried to get a reservation, but they were all full weeks in advance. If you are trying to do a walk-in (which is generally only for outdoor tables), I recommend getting there even a few minutes before they open and getting your name in (or having one of the first seatings at 11am). I was 2nd in line on a weekday and got the last walk-in spot, but I did hear others coming back later to get times later in the day. All of the food was SO good, especially the sandwich options. Very friendly service!!

Just came back from my first trip to the UK and while there I experienced my first afternoon tea at Candella tea room. The service was impeccable and the finger sandwiches were delicious! Their scones and clotted cream made me realize what all the fuss was about as they were my favorite thing! The server recommended the duchess tea and it was so lovely I had to buy a bag of loose leaf that I now enjoy at home. Looking forward to returning upon my next trip to England.

Amazing variety of tea blends. We ordered the traditional afternoon tea set. It was unique and it tasted amazing! Would recommend booking a reservation before going since it gets full very easily! The employees are super nice to the customers!

Candella Tea Room is a small, charming, cozy and casual place for afternoon tea, but reservations are required. The teas are aromatic, the sandwiches, savory snacks and sweet desserts are delicious, and the scones, clotted cream and jam are excellent.

I went there with my mother for an afternoon tea without a reservation but we were lucky enough to be seated inside thanks to a late cancellation, the staff was really nice and helpful throughout the service. The atmosphere feels very calm and cosy, as for the food itself, everything was delicious, the scones were the best I’ve tasted so far. There is also a very large selection of tea. All of that for a pretty reasonable price, especially given the area. I would totally recommend and go back again but definitely make a reservation ahead of the visit next time to be sure to have a table booked inside!

First time visiting London and my friend and I wanted to try an afternoon tea. This exceeded beyond our expectations! I loved the different tea varieties (we went for cream of earl and lychee), the interior was beautiful, staff friendly and the food was delicious. I especially loved the scones with clotted cream and the ham and cheese finger sandwiches. The price is great for what you get and I’m so happy I chose this as this has been a highlight of our trip!

Sus bollos están entre los mejores que he tenido en Londres y he tenido bastantes. Si lo haces para llevar, después de calentarlos en tu horno durante unos minutos, son absolutamente deliciosos (y la ventaja con la comida para llevar es que puedes poner tu propia mermelada favorita en los bollos). El salón de té en sí es muy lindo y atmosférico, pero es muy pequeño. Las reservas son muy recomendables.

Although the restaurant was smaller than I expected and the tables were fairly close to each other, the interior was beautifully designed. The scones were light, moist, and delicious, and the cream was also very tasty.

I attended tea with my daughter a few days ago. The gentleman who found us a perfect outside table and served us was incredibly kind and gave the best service. I wish I would have asked for his name. My daughter and I had a perfect afternoon because of him. The scones and everything served was delicious. I didn’t know at the time that you could ask to add an extra tip to your credit card. So sorry, if you’re reading this you certainly deserved it!

I went there because it was introduced on Instagram. The scones were more delicious than I expected, and the atmosphere was great! The taste was on a whole other level compared to scones from other shops! ! The staff member was kind and the store was very nice! We spoke with a regular, a Londoner who told us that they are probably the best in London. Remember to reserve, places are expensive! Looking forward to going back!

The afternoon tea was perfect! The scones were delicious. The only thing I would point out is that you don't have the possibility to take the tea leaves out of the pot and so the tea steeps too long. Maria was the sweetest, thank you.

Would definitely come here again. I have read some not so great reviews that I do not agree with. The staff and service were very polite. You need to make a reservation and probably need to come on time as each reservation has a time slot for 1.5 hours (if you need longer you can call ahead). The tea was FANTASTIC. Best I have ever had, you can see most of the options they have ahead of time online which is a good selection of green, black and fruity teas. The sandwiches and scones were very good for the price you pay, which is great for the area of town. The room is so cute and a great atmosphere.

The service was absolutely exquisite, with the staff being incredibly kind and attentive to every need and request. The place is charming and beautifully decorated. They also offer a vegetarian afternoon tea, which I requested. The food itself was really delicious! The scones with clotted cream and jam were divine! The dessert tier included a variety of petit fours and each of them was absolutely amazing! We enjoyed their house-made tea blends—Cream Earl Grey and Vanilla Black tea. Both were delicate and creamy, perfectly complementing the food. Overall, it was a wonderfully indulgent experience. I highly recommend it if you're in the area, or in London in general. This place is definitely worth a visit!

My daughter booked a wonderful treat for me for Mother’s Day! We arrived late but staff were so kind and understanding. We had a selection of sandwiches which were perfect. The scones were the best I’ve ever had and I’ve had a fair few in my time! The petit fours were gorgeous too. I tried a caramel cream tea and enjoyed it so much, I bought a pack to take away with me! The atmosphere was cosy and decor very nicely done. Thank you Maria and all the staff for making our afternoon so special.

We went here for afternoon tea for mother’s day… Maria served us and she was so lovely and the service was 10/10! Due to trains we were late and they were flexible and still let us still have our 1 hour 30minute time slot. The food was incredible and everything was reasonably priced. They even gave us flowers at the end of our slot for mother’s day. Would definitely recommend!!

An indescribable experience for anyone who wants to spend an authentic tea time. We were very lucky to get a seat inside without a reservation. The scones are to die for as are the afternoon teatime cakes and sandwiches. The tea is freshly brewed and is a pleasure. The hour and a half flew by. It was our first time in London and we wanted to do something typical and beautiful and it was worth it, it's worth what it costs, the tea was very delicious and the sweets too, we did the afternoon tea, if you don't speak much English Maria is there to help you and advise you.

What a lovely place! Being my first time in London, I had to try and afternoon tea service, & Candella didn't disappoint! The inside was full, so I accepted the outside patio seating. It was chilly & they offered me a blanket, which I thought was cute & it definitely helped. The whole set-up was gorgeous, & all food items were very tasty. I bought additional scones with strawberry jam & clotted cream to go, because they were absolutely delicious! The inside, although small, was very cozy & pretty. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. Last, but definitely not least, the staff was very sweet & on top of everything. A spot opened up inside & they asked the folks outside if they wanted to move in, which I feel was thoughtful. The items I ordered came out quickly & I found the prices to be excellent, especially compared to similar experiences. Highly recommend!

Fuimos a tomar el clásico Afternoon Tea. La experiencia fue excelente, tanto por la comida servida como por la atención del personal y las instalaciones del lugar. El precio pagado fue de 25 libras por personas, lo cual nos resultó muy bueno en cuanto a la relación calidad / precio. El lugar es pequeño pero acogedor y fuimos con reserva que sacamos en la pagina web del lugar. Si bien no se encuentra en una zona "super turística" de Londres, combinamos la visita con Kensigton Gardens que está relativamente cerca.

It's strongly advised to make a reservation. It's a small place with few tables. We got a table near the window, which was great. We had the afternoon tea and it was delicious! Price is normal compared to other places. The only negative thing is that they brought us the wrong tea and also the teapot was cracked and chipped. A bit more attention from the staff is needed.

The “Candella Tea Room” located near Kensington Palace is an elegant and authentic British tea room. It specializes in afternoon tea, loose tea, brunch, scones and other baked goods. It has more than 30 kinds of tea and homemade cakes. It is the best choice to enjoy traditional British afternoon tea. The store is very elegant and has a classic British style. The various baked cakes, cups, plates and utensils that you can see make the store very atmospheric. Since there are not many places in the store, we had to make a reservation in advance to get a seat and come early in the morning to enjoy British brunch. I ordered the most classic eggs Benedict, topped with thick hollandaise sauce, which was very beautiful visually. There were also fruit waffles, hot waffles, etc., with English breakfast tea and Earl Gray tea. I drank the tea with an elegant bone china cup set. The texture was really improved a lot, and the whole person became more elegant. Candella's English three-tiered afternoon tea is also great. Came yesterday for my 19th birthday with my mum at 3.30 booking , we got there a little early but staff let us come in and were absolutely lovely and attentive. It’s really delicious. I went there more than 10 times while I was an exchange student… There is no jab at the famous place in Soho. If you want something a little crunchy, go to Muffin Man, and if you like something with a strong buttery texture on the outside, go to Candela! Consta de una selección de diferentes sanwiches (atún con mayonesa, salmón ahumado y queso suave, croque monsieur, pepino y mantequilla con hiervas y huevo con salsa que no sabría concretar) todos muy ricos, los scones muy tiernos y recién horneados con crema de mantequilla y mermelada a parte y una selección de pasteles riquísimos ( tarta de queso y plátano, bizcocho suave de limón, pastel de chocolate, avellana, vainilla con ligero toque de café, pequeño bocado de lotus y macarron de frambuesa en una base de crema similar a la nata), todo absolutamente delicioso. Por último te dan a elegir en una amplia carta el tipo de té que prefieras, nosotros nos decantamos por el caramel. Además del afternoom tea, disponen del cream tea, diversas bebidas como café o chocolate caliente... y el lugar es muy acogedor y pequeñito, es obligatorio reservar

It was my first time trying afternoon tea in the UK, and my sister worked hard to make a reservation so I was able to go. There were always a lot of people and the seats weren't wide, but the tea set was reasonably priced, I drank Darjeeling, the tea was delicious, and all the food was delicious. The staff were also really friendly. This is a place I want to go again next time. If you come to the UK, I recommend stopping by at least once! I want to eat scones here again... It was really delicious...~~

All very good. However, one of the waiters seemed a bit snotty to me. At first I didn't hear him well when he greeted me and I thought he had asked me if I had a reservation, to which I said yes and gave him my name. Then he greeted me again emphatically and I realized I didn't hear him correctly and I waved back and apologized. He responded "thank you" with a somewhat raised tone as if to say "let's see if we're polite." The truth is that the British have always seemed polite and correct without being arrogant, but this one seemed a bit that way to me. I am an educated person and I don't need anyone to lecture me. Then he began to focus on the way to drink the tea, I had a genmaicha and I didn't want to use the filter, since I like grains of rice to fall on me and I don't mind eating some. Well he came and put the filter in my cup. In the end I had the feeling that they were watching me to see if I drank it according to their standards or not. It's fine that they give me suggestions but I decide how I want to taste the 🍵. Of course, everything seemed delicious to me and the attention of the other waiter was exquisite. But for everything else I can't give it a 5.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Candella Tea Room. We had to book approximately 2 months in advance to secure a 4 person table in the weekend just after the new year but it was well worth the wait! I cannot fault anything about our experience here and we will be returning again!

Good price for afterno0on tea in London, and easily as good as higher end locations. We ate at 2pm and getting a reservation was simple. Simple and quaint shop with very homey (in a good way) decor. Service was good and prompt and very friendly. The only downside for me was the amount of trash in cans right outside the from door, kind of took away from the atmosphere. i would do tea here again.

Very lovely place! It's a small tea room and booking is almost mandatory but we were lucky to find a table and enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea. The guys are amazing and very kind, they welcomed us warmly, seated us at a nice table set with taste. The tea was served in two nice pots and was enough for 4 tea cups each, the sandwiches, scones and cakes were served on a tower of plates between us. We enjoyed the tuna sandwich and the egg sandwich more, but the others were good too (salmon, ham & cheese, veg), the scones were perfect with clotted cream and strawberry jam, and the cakes were amazing. The price was really good, we spent about 27£ each but compared to what we eat/drink and how we have been treated it's really a low price.

Their scone is better than the Ritz's. You need to make reservation beforehand.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful tea time here. Their afternoon tea is much better than the one at The Ritz—no kidding! We just had afternoon tea at The Ritz three days ago. Of course, The Ritz offers more luxurious interiors, atmosphere, and restrooms. However, the food here is more delicious, and the prices are much more reasonable. The staff here doesn’t wear a suit, but he is very nice and enthusiastic.
