We came for the tastes of fifty lunchtime menu recently to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. I was so excited to find somewhere special but affordable to treat to her to amazing food in a gorgeous space with wonderful service. The staff were so friendly and warm, making us feel special but not being overbearing! Each plate was delicious, my girlfriend was delighted to have some birthday chocolates and we felt really well looked after - thank you so much to your staff for making it a really memorable experience, we hope to be back soon!

Wow truly a very nice experience. We came on a Thursday evening for the surf and turf and had the sharing set menu with lobster, ossu bucco and souffle. All three courses were absolutely wonderful, the lobster was delicate, buttery and full of herbs, the ossu bucco was massive and rich, could have easily fed 3-4 people and would recommend sides with that, and the souffle was fresh, zesty and a soft nice texture, paired well with the coconut passionfruit ice cream. Loved the decor, the plating and the service was great. All this paired with the wine was a beautiful and decadent experience. Thank you and would come again after digesting my food coma.

An amazing dining experience with delicious food and exceptionally friendly staff. The chef personally presented our two Beef Wellingtons before serving them, and we had a delightful conversation with him and the other wonderful team members. We spent a week in London dining at fine restaurants every evening, but this one was undoubtedly the highlight of our trip.

Not coming back again. Food was great but service isnt the best. Sunday roast served without gravy. Asked why this is so and one of the matrons said it had gravy when clearly the plate was dry as the grill. She lied to my face as if I couldnt tell. Giving 2 stars for service just because the first and last members of staff we interacted with were nice and friendly.

THE BEST!!!! We got married at 50 Cheyne this week and they were incredible. Service was outstanding, food was incredible and they were so accommodating with us, I can’t thank them enough. We had our wedding ceremony there along with an intimate lunch followed by a wedding party. Our guests absolutely loved it! I can’t write this review without mentioning Alice, the most amazing event manager! She was so good and knew exactly what we wanted! She cares so much about what she does and it really showed! She really made our day so special for us! Raffaele also has to get a mention for cooking the most incredible food, it was amazing! And he is such a lovely, kind person too. Ilaria was also amazing and Zeli, the sweetest lady who had such patience whilst looking after our little boy. Can’t recommend enough and will definitely be going back every year for our anniversary!

Went to No 50 for celebrating my 20th (!) wedding anniversary. Friendly and professional reception, excellent home-made bread. Went for the “surf’n’turf”, and blown away by the food: excellent quality of ingredients, amazingly prepared. Their choice of champagne is simply perfect: the Ruinart brut is among my favourites. To celebrate the occasion, the staff did their very best, and we felt very special that night. That is not anything granted to find in more prestigious venues.Thank you, No 50!Really enjoyed my time at No 50 and looking forward to visiting them again soon.

What a disappointing experience. We waited 50 minutes for our beef wellington, only to see it brought to a nearby table that had ordered theirs just 10 minutes before then. When we informed our server, he assured us that ours was on its way. Meanwhile, another server tried to get his attention to correct the mistake. After a couple of minutes, we received sliced beef wellington without being shown the whole one. When I asked the server if they had mistakenly served ours to the other table, she mentioned they sometimes show a sample from the kitchen to customers. I requested to see it, but she claimed they didn't have it. Instead of acknowledging the error, they compounded it. It's disappointing because we are frequent visitors and the food is usually excellent, but this time the service was a letdown. We won't be returning.

A huge thank you to Martina and Leke who acted on every request without hesitation and you could see were working on 200% capacity. They checked every table, moving around all the time, constantly ensuring prompt service, topping up water and wine on the way. My modus operandi is to order the most ridiculous, and easily messed up thing on the menu. Bingo. Rump roast - not great when made on the day of. Silverskin not trimmed off, sinew and roast chewy to the point of 10 minutes per mouthful. Maybe I should have gone for an easier option. Ever thought of sous vide and a reverse sear?

I was happy to find a place that serves roast on a Saturday, however was disappointed with this choice. I had the Sirloin steak roast and it could have been a great dish, since the Sirloin is cooked to perfection. However, the trimmings were what brought this dish down. The potatoes were wayy too salty and there is no balance in taste between the meat and the vegetable. The bread sauce was also not a great addition to the dish. Therefore, the roast lunch just felt heavy and salty. It is definitely overpriced since there are better and more affordable roast out there.

Having visited this restaurant twice now, I can confidently say that their service is consistently outstanding. On my first visit, I was blown away by the quality of the food – everything was cooked to perfection, and it was easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. However, on my second visit, while the service remained impeccable, I was sorely disappointed with the roast dinner. The roast potatoes were so incredibly salty that they overpowered the entire meal making it difficult to enjoy any of the other elements on the plate. It’s unfortunate because I was looking forward to a repeat of my first experience. All in all, while I appreciate the fantastic service and atmosphere, I hope that the kitchen pays more attention to the seasoning in the future. I’d love to return, but I’m hesitant after this recent meal.

Wonderful experience! My husband and I ordered the “taste of 50” menu, which was a great choice! The food, the wine, the atmosphere and the service were absolutely marvelous! The only downside was that the check included an extra item, and we didn’t notice that before paying. My husband didn’t order dessert, but I did. So the restaurant charged us for one 2 courses menu and one 3 courses menu, plus an extra dessert. That was quite annoying because it added almost 20 pounds to our check. However, since the food was so great, my husband and I decided not to make it a big deal.

Whilst the decor and the scenic exterior built a warm welcome in. It’s to my sadness to quickly discover that’s where the warmth ended as the food presented (roast lamb, roast chicken x2 & beef wellington) was cold. It was evident (or felt like) the food was prepared hours before our arrival. The group of 4 of us sat across each other, seeing the excitement fade from our faces to gradual disappointment as we took every bite. The staff were lovely, however spending £300+ (for roast dinners) where we reasonably expected hot, piping food to exemplify the flavours of a roast dinner, was not to be. We went for a stroll around Battersea Park debriefing our meal and concluding that we will not be returning to this establishment.

This was the best dining experience that I have had all year. The entire staff - Martina, Jose, and the others - treated us with the best hospitality in London. I was there celebrating my birthday. I mistakenly thought London roasts happened all day, so I arrive at 50 Cheyne in the evening excited for a traditional London roast, only to find out that roasts stopped at dinner time. Yet, in spite of this, the manager decided to speak to the chefs and sure enough they made me a roast! It was really special. On top of that, they went above and beyond for my birthday, offering drinks and desserts, and when I informed Jose that I would be going to Portugal as well, he spent 20 minutes curating a list of the best restaurants in Lisboa. Truly could not have better things to say about this restaurant. I cannot wait to go back.

A very disappointing Sunday roast having previously enjoyed the food . The roast potatoes were more like deep fried baked potatoes ( when I mentioned to the team they said it’s frequent feedback ) the gravy was one fits all for chicken and all the beef choices which meant it was bland and not typical of an indulgent rich beef gravy . No greens … which can be normal but when we ordered broccolini as a side we all concluded it had a plastic aroma ? V strange so we didn’t eat . I’ve had so many delicious Sunday roasts in london but believe me this doesn’t come close to the best . I think at £75 per head one expects more ….. service was sleek and polite and the house wine at £18 per glass was delicious but after raising the roast potatoes as a talking point their response showed me no point … the feedback isn’t of value . I wouldn’t recommend at the level they suggest their roast is !

Came for the Saturday roast and to see what all the fuss was about. Extremely pleasant front of house team aside from one tall waiter who seemed to think he owned the place. Poor attitude. Anyways, house Bloody Mary was on point. Could have done with a splash of a full bodied red wine but hey ho it was spicy and tangy and hit all the right notes. Our little one was hungry and one of the team made a point of bringing over chicken nuggets & fries as the adults were perusing the menu. Three of us got the roast whilst the wife had a tomato soup. The roast potatoes were to die for. Slathered in some form of lard or duck fat. Crispy perfection on the outside. Pillowy softness on the inside. Gravy was really meaty and heavy. Other trimmings were solid individually but when everything was put together on the plate it all became rather one dimensional. There was no acid to cut through the fat. A serving of braised red cabbage for instance would have added balance. My ribeye was good. Rump steak was a little tough. Cumbrian chicken was a winner!! All in all a very pleasant experience in the heart of Chelsea. A touch spoilt by being overcharged on the bill. Rectified immediately of course. Would I make an especial trip to eat here again? Probably not. Would I come here if I were in the area? Yes I probably would, just to try other things on the menu.

This must be London’s most expensive, yet disappointing, Sunday lunch. £40 for greasy, under seasoned fatty beef is pure daylight robbery. The service is dilatory at best with staff preferring to talk to each other rather than tending to their tables. What a find... We absolutely loved our evening at No 50. Staff were lovely, the dining room is just the kind of old-school relaxed country-house vibe I love, and the food was superb. I mean, really, really good. We tried the nettle gnocchi - new on the menu - and it was honestly the best gnocchi I've ever eaten, so soft it barely kept its shape, and sauced absolutely beautifully. And the creme caramel was a dream, more like crème brulée in texture, and the most delicious, smoky flavour. I hate to think of the calorie count, so I won't - we'll be back.

Visited with some friends to try the new Tuesday surf and turf menu. Was a little disappointed- overall the food is good however the service was slow, took around 30 mins to order. The server didn’t note our order down (something that always worries me) and inevitably our sides weren’t correct. My medium steak was a little on the well done side, this may just be compared to what I’m used to but was slightly disappointing in a restaurant of this calibre. We were also charged for steak sauces, these prices weren’t on the menu, we were offered them by our server and so it was a surprise to see these had been charged. Summary, the food is good but not exceptional, very salty. Service is ok. Prices are high.

From the ambiance of the restuaraunt (unbeknownst we came during the flower festival and the restuaraunt was properly dressed for the occasion) to the steaks and the service, everything was top notch. The steaks melted in your mouth accompanied by mouthwatering bone marrow demi Glace, the wined paired perfectly, and Martina, our waitress, had the fervor of the Greek godess of food and a heart as big as Aphrodite. It was average for us. And didn’t feel hospitable… the “impatience” for us to leave the table by the male manager was unpleasant especially for a Saturday afternoon. Just don’t need dealing with an attitude when we are guests :) He also seemed to be nice only when he was trying to get us to order more and the most expensive items (Beef Willington) and then after was just "stare down" and impatience and "ignore." I had lunch with a friend at this delightful restaurant recently. It was a very enjoyable experience. Its location is somewhat inconspicuous - although just a stone’s throw from Albert Bridge and just off Chelsea Embankment, it’s hidden away to some extent, sheltered from immediate view from the main road by the trees of Chelsea Embankment Gardens. What is more, the bustling King Road is a good five minutes walk away. I suspect that means it does not get much passing trade. If so, that is a great pity because it is surely one of the very best eateries in this part of London. Once you approach it, however, it’s impossible to miss. The exterior is painted white and a lovely shade of pastel blue and is draped with sprays of beautiful red, pink and blue flowers. The interior is also very tasteful. There is a small bar and a rectangular dining area of around 10-12 tables. The service is friendly and very professional and the food is delicious. I opted for a starter of roasted tomato soup with grilled focaccia, which was stunningly good. My main course (a dish for two people, which I shared with my friend) was prime rib of beef with French fries and a spinach mousse. That too was excellent. For dessert, I had mango and vanilla flavoured cold rice pudding. Fabulous. We shared a bottle of the house red wine (I failed to make a note of its name). All in all, a very convivial occasion. Prices are reasonable (this is Chelsea, remember!): there are set-price menus at £25, £29 and £49 in addition to a very inviting à la carte. A splendid lunch. I unhesitatingly recommend ‘No. Fifty Cheyne’.

Well done Martina, I wish all service was as good as this. Sunday Roast was amazing, beef cooked to perfection, likewise was all the veg. Came home and rebooked for next month. Well done Cheyne, tip top in every way.

Went with my Mother and we had a nice lunch/ dinner. Like me make sure you don’t eat the day before or before as there’s a lot of food! Head chef even came to say hello and have a little chat. Dessert was AMAZING sticky toffee and a caramel creme Brule pricy but worth a treat

"My family had a wonderful experience. My son was excited to try the beef Wellington. Reservations were easy to make, and the accommodations were awesome. The ambiance magnified my goal of a nice vacation dinner for the family. The food was as imagined. Even my picky eater teenager complimented his dinner choice. I was very pleased with how sensitive the staff was to our needs and arranged transportation for us back to our hotel. I definitely will recommend this to friends visiting. Thank you!"

We went for the Sunday roast recently. The food was excellent, and the decor beautiful. However, we did find one or two of the staff members a little frosty/aloof. Plenty of very friendly, and welcoming staff too though.

Incredible!! I worked a wedding at the venue a few years back and have been desperate ever since to go back as a guest and try the food. I heard people raving about the roasts and honestly it was the best roast i've ever had. The service was remarkable, the staff were friendly, professional the presentation as amazing and nothing was to much to ask for. Highly recommend and I will definitely be returning.Thank you for such a lovely time Samantha x

Started great, lovely classic interior, nice welcome, great table. Limited menu choice. The steak was good but not fantastic, too salty. Glass of wine choice poor and limited and obscene prices, especially red wine. Service charge unnecessary. Overall 7.9

Great food, reasonable prices, and lovely ambience. They also treated my dog very well (she was given a bed and water!). This is now one of my favourite restaurants and I will definitely be coming back!

Is this just a venue to visit for your instagram with its stunning decor? No! On the pricier side but you get what you pay for! I’ve picked the wrong item a couple of times so some have not been to my personal liking but I cannot fault the food here! Opted for the vegan starter for my last visit and the cashew cream was just wow! Staff are amazing and some of the best service I’ve experienced! Definitely worth a visit and is more than just an instagram post! I do need to visit for the Sunday roast - it’s on my list! Oh and the sticky toffee pudding is one of the best I’ve ever had!!! This is my favourite restaurant in London. The food is spectacular and so are the staff. I love introducing friends to it, because they always love it as much as I do. I brought three friends with me on Friday and they’re all converts! We had such a brilliant night. Huge thanks to all!

Famous for its roasts and quite renowned locally, this upmarket restaurant in Old Chelsea serves nice British dishes with a touch of class but without the weight of fine dining. Decor is very flowery and picturesque. Sunday roast was lovely and dessert very indulgent. Front of House staff a bit too direct and mechanical with rules (reminding of 2-hour table slot rather than making us feel welcome) when you actually book to chill and enjoy your Sunday lunch

We reserved a late slot for Sunday lunch which was not really a good idea as when we arrived we were rushed to order and there was limited choice available. Fortunately my wife and daughter wanted the chicken roast but the vegetarian stuffing was no more. I went for one of the beef specials which was so rare it was almost 'mooing' and for me, was inedible and as the kitchen was closing or had closed, I didn't want to make a fuss. Fortunately, my wife's chicken portion was very generous and she gave me some which was delicious. I liked the roast potatoes, my wife and daughter didn't, but other than that, it has the potential to be one of the best restaurant Sunday lunches I have tasted. There were lashings of gravy, a mound of generally well cooked vegetables and all served by excellent staff in a most delightful atmosphere. We all loved the relaxed and classy ambiance of '50 Cheyne' and the wine was reasonably priced for a very drinkable Gavi! Would we return, certainly, but possibly of an evening to sample their main menu. If I went for Sunday lunch I would book an earlier time slot and stick to the delicious chicken. Did we enjoy our visit, most certainly and the bonus is there is a delightful pub around the corner called 'The Cross Keys' where we finished the evening. A lovely afternoon all told!

I had dinner here ordering their prix fixe menu with my partner. The wait staff are very nice and the food is tasty (though not extraordinary) and beautifully presented. In addition, there are a number of "free" amuse bouche items provided. However, the portion sizes from this menu are tiny. I'd say the portions are like tapas rather than a meal that will satisfy your hunger. But what really burnt my bunions was that when the bill arrived, it included a £1 charge for charity. I choose my own charities voluntarily and do not expect to be pickpocketed in a fancy, overpriced restaurant. If the owners want, they can donate to charity out of their pockets without imposing this on me with a sneaky addition to the bill. I believe it's inappropriate for a restaurant to sneak this on the bill, which would result in an embarrassing confrontation with the wait staff over it. I want to be asked to optoin rather than requiring me to opt-out. In addition, the bill had a 15% service charge, which, on top of their inflated prices and their £1 charity addition, really dented my wallet. A 12.5% service charge is the norm in London. 15% is ridiculous. There was no mention of the charity extortion or inflated service charge up front. No wonder they're closing the restaurant down. Even if they stayed open I'd never go back.

Every visit to this restaurant leaves me genuinely impressed by the creative mastery of the chef, the inspired selections from the sommelier, and the impeccable professionalism of the entire staff. Each member of the team strikes the perfect balance of warmth and expertise, making every guest feel welcome and well cared for. I recently dined here with a friend visiting from Italy—both of us passionate about good food—and we left feeling thoroughly delighted by the experience. This place is a gem for food enthusiasts seeking both innovation and quality, and it never disappoints. Highly recommended!

We arrived early and had a friendly welcome. Having sat down it was clearly apparent there was a change of staff, roughly 3pm. Our first server I’m guessing was checking off, no interest at all, next server was fair but never saw again, all in all 6 different servers, not one the same on any time coming to the table so no continuity, very little interest except for the lady towards the end. We had pork belly ribs to start, amazing, nice salad with it. The. Between three we had a 1kg porterhouse plus two fries mushrooms mac and cheese and drinks. The steak was excellent but I felt the portions were all very small for the cost of the food. Not good value for money. But this is London. After one dessert it came to just shy of £250. I was really looking forward to this meal but felt very let down. A shame and will be hard pushed to return. I feel there are better restaurants serving quality food for more value. Sorry

The prawn salad was phenomenal and well presented. The beef was has an enormous serving portion, cooked to order and perfectly juicy. The atmosphere was very posh- there was live jazz music and a singer
