Went to Ed,s for our usual milkshake treat, which we having been doing for a while. We oftern go for the Nutella malt, but today they were all out so we went with chcolate. After a little bit of wait we were presented with the drinks in the steel containers, which to our surprise were only half full. I double checked the price and they are still charging you the same price as before but only this time, your getting less. I feel that the standard in quality has slipped and I feel its time to find a new favourite to for our weekend treat.

We have visited Eds diner quite a few times over the years and it became a family favourite when we visited Cheshire oaks bit admittedly it has been a while since our last visit. I'm not sure if ownership has changed hands but it really has gone down hill. Once we were seated we were told we can order at the front or use the app, except you can't use the app because there is no signal in there. The menu has been absolutely slashed and the only choice of mains is burgers and 2 hot dogs. There is a selection of 2 desserts to choose from and a handful of appetisers. So we went to the front and ordered 3 burgers with fries, 3 milkshakes and a kids meal totalling £78. Upon paying for the meal we were asked for a tip. Now I'm all tipping for good service but I'm not giving a tip before I've recieved my meal or any service! The food came out quickly served by a woman who was friendly enough but walking around in a dirty looking jumper and not in the same uniform as the rest of the staff. I am unsure if she was a manger? The food it's self was also dissapointing the burgers were tiny, think McDonald's cheeseburger size and tasted unpleasant, along with a handful of soggy chips. We did not finish our meal. The milkshakes were good but only half full. After finishing out lunch we waited 20 minutes for someone to come clear so we could let them know we were ready for my sons desert. When no-one came we went to the front and asked for his dessert. 25 minutes later we were still waiting for the elusive brownie that would never appear! We gave up waiting and left at that point. I would have been more understanding if the place was packed and the staff run off thier feet, but this was not the case and unusual for ed's at lunch time. Over all, lack of service. Dissapointing choice of food. Dissapointing food and just over all dissapointed. We will not be back and are now looking for a new family favourite, so if anyone has recommendations please send them my way.

Food wasn’t the best hence no more than 3 star. But staff were lovely and welcoming, the wife had some work to do on the day of our shopping trip so we dropped by were as they opened and let us sit out the way out of others where it’s quiet and she can work in peace. Food and drinks were easy to order from code on table, may have to try again for lunch as could have been off day. Menu looks great and music is catchy.

We entered Eds and were surprisingly the only customers, it was usually very busy but we were soon to find out why. We were asked by a member of staff that once we had chosen our meal to come to the till and order (not how l remember it) table service the last time l was there I ordered a Smokey Joe Burger with fries, a strawberry milkshake and a cappuccino. I was asked to pay and prompted to leave a tip before paying ( I don't leave tips before I've received food) The drinks came first followed by a meal consisting of limp looking fries that probably had been cooked for a while and kept hot (not) they were lukewarm, the burger was ok, the best thing about the entire meal was the strawberry milkshake. A very disappointing visit not to be repeated. Five Guys was very busy when we passed on the way back to the car so l will be going there next time

We have been here before but never for breakfast, so we popped in on a Saturday morning. As I've never tried it (and I know it's supposedly American Soul Food) I ordered the chicken and waffles. My partner had the Eds breakfast. We also ordered some orange juice and a couple of milkshakes. As previously the milkshakes were very good indeed (although Slim Chickens do the best ones!). As for the breakfast, it was okay. Perhaps my mistake for deciding to try chicken and waffles but for me at least, fried chicken is not really breakfast material. The waffles were not potato waffles as we in the UK are familiar with, but more a waffle shape made out of pancake mix. They were a bit overdone and chicken and maple syrup was a weird combo - but that's not their fault. As for the "fry up", the sausages were nice but tasted a bit cheap (low meat content), the hash browns are the generic frozen triangle ones. I have yet to find anywhere in the UK that does authentic American hash browns like the ones I had in California years ago - literally a small mountain of cubed fluffy potatoes that were loose not preformed. Anyway, overall it was okay, I chose to try what I had out of curiosity and it backfired for me.

Food wasn't that bad, service ok, but the menu had changed to what is on the web !! and the malted milk shake, while nice was a rip off at £6.49 for 3/4 of a jug thing. Had been looking forward to this and was extremely disappointed, wouldn't recommend it to anybody.............................and it was expensive too..........................

Called for lunch, disappointed to see new menu is missing previous favourites, it is not quite as varied as it used to be. We were greeted quickly and shown to a table but asked to order our food at the counter once we had chosen. Not really restaurant experience anymore. Food was nice and staff pleasant. would use again but not in a rush to repeat unfortunately

What can I say……The chicken tenders were lovely, but the halloumi fries were dry, Luke warm, and worked out at just over £1 per fry !! £5:50 for 5 fries …….. absolutely ridiculous. There’s rip off, and then there’s Ed’s Diner.

babies. It won't end well. This place used to be great, but by the fact it was mostly empty you can see people don't like it anymore. The food is very very average for the money you pay for it now, it gone way down hill. Loaded fries are an embarrassment and the chicken wings are frozen small rubbish you can get from shop. They also won't allow you to refill a refillable fizzy drink with a Fanta for example if you ordered a coke zero even thought it's all sugar free. This is a really silly rule. The place itself really needs a lick of paint and some love. Dirty light fittings, half the lights don't work and the toilets old and dirty. Seriously disappointed with this and I'm afraid I won't be coming back to visit again as it simply does not act as value for money and the staff and atmosphere wasn't that welcoming.

Burgers were made to order so were very hot and tasty. I had the black and blue burger with loaded fries. You can’t beat the milkshakes in here they have a lot of variety and are delicious! My only bad points are they didn’t read the instructions from the online order to remove the pickles from the burger and the burgers are quite expensive and you have to add fries to the order.

Awful. I’m assuming the manager and one of the staff members are seeing eachother , as they were stuck like glue to eachother. Very unprofessional in the work place. The lady ( manager ) was actually pleasant but her partner or whatever he was , we’ve had two awful encounters with !! Last time we went he was absolutely vile and said it wasn’t his day to work … called in unexpectedly. And so much more ontop of this ! He was so unprofessional , kept having his hands or hovering around this girl .. who considering is the management didn’t correct him on his behaviour. The whole team bar the chef was shocking. The chef actually got on with making the food and trying to not get distracted by his apauling team. There was a young lad wondering round aimlessly carrying a tub of ice cream and laughing at the top of his lungs at his work colleagues , making jokes and fart arsing around. He was acting about 12 and like he was in school still. There was 4 members of staff in including the chef and it took over 20 mins for one of them to take our order because they were faffing with eachother and couldn’t seem to serve a table without the woman and the man doing it together !! Train your staff properly and get rid of that awful man !! Everytime we’ve been in he’s been arrogant , rude and overall made our experience awful with his attitude ! He isn’t ever supposed to be working either according to him which makes u feel awkward from the get go , makes you feel like it’s your problem. Note to him - learn some manners , keep your relationship outside of the workplace , if you’re going to complain every customer you have that you shouldn’t be on shift … don’t bother turning up ! We’re not here to congratulate or feel sorry for you ! Stop faffing , ask if people are ready for their bill as we certainly weren’t !! We were actually about to order milkshakes for desert but you made us feel unwanted and pushed out !! And don’t shove your bill under my dad’s nose ever again . You’re rude ! Obnoxious and disrespectful!

It was awful after bring told they could feed us with coeliac and a dairy allergy we were informed that it wasn't possible to not put cheese on a burger as head office had told them they cannot do it even though it said you could ask for vegan cheese

I’m really not happy with my experience here!! The management really have no respect for their staff I’m very appalled with my whole experience the only thing that I can say nice is that that food was cooked properly… I won’t be returning and I will be advising people to stay away! I feel sorry for some of the members of staff that work there!

Terrible! Went for the all day breakfast, but they had sold out before 12. Settled for 3 burgers that weren't great, awful small portion of fries. My son had a bottle of water, asked for a glass and was given a dirty warm glass. We would have been better off at McDonald's for half the price

terrible....ordered food through the qr code and it arrived with a few minutes at the table. very poor quality and all pre heated. milk shakes totally tasteless aswell. staff couldn't be bothered it was like a party for them. definitely not eating here again

Long wait by entrance while waiting for a table when there were empty tables.A server came to us and said “no breakfasts” strange comment when the windows all have adverts for breakfast.We ordered our food and waited,when it came my order was wrong.Why take an order,write it down and deliver it wrongly,it was put right fairly quickly so no problem.My burger was juicy and very tasty but I think that the fries died about 2 years ago.They were cold and very unappetising to look at.It seems that they are short of staff particularly trained staff.All in all not worth the money and a poor experience.

Dreadful staff asked on entering if anyone had any allergies I stated yes daughter has a medical condition which means she cant eat anything containing fruit or vegetable the girl who asked this burst out laughing and ask if we were joking, I replied why would I joke about something that could make my daughter very seriously ill we just left with my daughter in a upset state, I suggest your staff are trained to be more controlled in there comments, this was our first visit and we will never visit this establishment again.

Really dissappointed my daughter and the rest of our family looked forward to going to ed's for her birthday treat, when we were seated we were told all orders had to be done online after scanning QR code, although a member of staff told me how to customise the meal, when i tried to adjust the meal it removed the sides that i had oredered, then when i reordered the sides it added 2 and not 1 after spending 20 minutes trying to order the family meal we gave up and decided to go to 5 guys where a member of staff took our order and we had or meal in less than 15 mins although food not as good as ed's i am prepared to sacrifice taste for service, we eat out to take the stress out of cooking not to get stressed out trying to order food, ed's lost out on over £100 as that what the meal for the 4 of us would have cost.
