Edi’z in Bassetlaw

Another very tasty meal at Ediz. So much to choose from on menu at reasonable prices. Good service and good portions. Will call again when in Retford, my favourite place to eat.

We regularly visit here during the day but decided to try the evening menu.We had the mixed kebabs and salmon both of which were outstanding. Taste sensation. Everything was fresh and beautifully cooked.Staff are friendly and professional. Atmosphere was wonderful. Highly recommend

Would have liked to give 5 out of 5 but unfortunately on this occasion it wasn’t. Good choice of food. Need to order at the counter which wasn’t a problem. My wife had a burger which seemed homemade and I’m told was very good. It arrived quite quickly with sides of fries and onion rings. But no sign of my chicken burger. We waited. And waited a bit more and then asked one of the staff if it was on its way. She checked and said it was coming right up. It didn’t. When it eventually arrived (my wife had nearly finished hers) it was hot and had the potential to be delicious. Unfortunately that’s where it fell down. The chicken was so tough it was impossible to cut (or the knives were blunt). We were told it was homemade but the coating was very salty and I spent the afternoon drinking water. I ate it because I was so hungry. I did tell one of the servers who muttered something and walked off!! So not impressed with the food. The onion rings were good but the fries were chips but very hot when served. Prices for food were reasonable but £2.50 for a small can of Fanta seemed a bit like highway robbery. Such a shame that they forgot one of the main meals and then served something rushed and below par. Service was slow - so much so we nearly got a parking ticket!

On a cold and wet December whilst storm Darragh was raging we visited with friends for a night out The staff service and food were all first class and I will definitely be returning Surroundings were warm and cozy and a great night was had by all If you are visiting the area give it a try you won’t be disappointed

Didn’t know about Edi’z but walked past and as Costa was only doing takeaways thought I’d have a pop. The menu is huge although missing more Middle Eastern food which I’d like to see. Went for a Simple Breakfast, changing the toast to a fried slice, and a black coffee. It came quickly and looked lovely, even though the beans were in a little pot, no need for that. The bacon and eggs were well cooked and tasty as, the sausage was better quality than other cafes in town and the fried slice was beautiful. The beans were tasty but very runny but that can be easily sorted by cooking the beans longer so the sauce thickens (no need for the little pot then either). The coffee was also good and a big mug of it too. Couldn’t see on the menu how much extra items are as I’d have added black pudding with hindsight. The staff are very friendly. The girl who served me was the sister and she was really nice. All for under a tenner, I will be coming back

Fantastic food served in a really friendly atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone for either casual dining or a celebration meal.

Wow, just what Retford needed! A well presented (loved the bulldog in the beams) restaurant. We arrived (evening meal) and it was very quiet, I'm sure this will change as word gets around. Service was great, it was so hard to choose from the vast menu, complimentary bread and dips to start, mains were beautifully presented. No scrimping on portions. We couldn't wait to tuck in. We would definitely recommend Ediz for a relaxing meal, a celebration, Christmas get together and look forward to to visiting again.

We ordered a takeaway and the food was delicious. Great to have another choice in town. Each dish was incredibly tasty. Will definitely be back and eat in next time.

Called in for the first time today. Lots to choose from on menu at reasonable price. Food was good and quick service. Will return again.

What a lovely atmosphere to meet up with friends and have a coffee or something to eat. The food is tasty and the coffee is always hot. The staff make this place and are always very helpful.

Restaurant is lovely, interior is brilliant. Waiters are great and service is good… until they ask you for you’re number and make you feel uncomfortable… fingers crossed no one else has this experience to… (adi)

Great service. Welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed a Turkish coffee (must try!) and a Moroccan salad and my daughter had a panini. We sat outside and enjoyed the sun and we literally could have been abroad. Great value!

We were in the local area to watch a show at the Majestic Theatre, and arrived in good time so wanted to eat before hand, and this place was super close (end of the street) it looked inviting from the front, and fairly quiet. Both myself and friend love burgers, so this appealed to us. We both went for BBQ chicken burgers and fries, and they were excellent, very fresh and nicely presented. The staff were very good, in particular a dark haired lady on the counter, who was smiling and very friendly. We both had Lattes again, excellent! This is a lovely little place, and well worth a visit if you are in town, or visiting the theatre, as its very close by. We hope to visit again in the future

Fast service and fantastic food. Why would you ever want to eat rubbish from a chain when you can get quality food from an independent shop like this?

As a newish venue in town and having previously been to Edi’z.for excellent coffee , planned to return to eat. So on Sunday 6 of us, including 2 children (8&14 months) went for brunch. The staff were attentive, friendly and efficient. The food menu extensive and reasonably priced. The food arrived promptly and without exception for us all, was excellent and we had a variety of choices. Even the baby’s scrambled egg on toast was devoured if somewhat messily. It’s a shame Edi’z is not open in the evening but is open 7 days a week. We will be back and soon.
