This place was recommended and booking was easy on line. It’s bring your own booze so it’s great for a cheaper night out. The staff never rushed us and we very helpful and friendly. Everyone enjoyed their food and the chicken bhuna is the best curry I have had in years!!! I cannot wait to go back!! Did try to in a Sunday but it was closed! This place is a must cost for any curry lover

Ordered from here for the first time for home delivery. The food was really really tasty and fresh although the portions were quite small for the price. I'll try the restaurant next to compare. Taste 10/10, Value (home delivery) 7/10.

Excellent food. I had the Chicken Tikka Methi. It was the best example of this dish Iv ever had. Perfectly spiced. Perfectly seasoned. Very fresh. My partner had the Lamb Doopiaza. Very tender meat. Full flavoured sauce, if a touch oily. Perfectly seasoned. The saag paneer was delicious. Mushroom rice was more like a Biryan! Amazing! Perfectly cooked garlic naan. Crispy king prawn starter, full of flavour. Friendly staff. B.Y.O. Reasonably priced. 9/10. Can’t wait to go back

This curry house is absolutely incredible. For starters the staff are absolutely amazing, so kind and it works like clockwork! The food, we always start with popedoms and the chuckney tray which is easily the best tray I've ever had. I come here with my other half every weekend and we couldn't speak higher of it! The music is also on point, the authentic Indian music really adds to the atmosphere! We bring our chess board occasionally too. The food is delicious and we will be sure to be back next weekend! The chef also pops his head out to say hello too which is a nice touch! Truly great people! Also the mango Lassi is to die for! Thankyou Eastern Taste ❤️🙏🏻

Eastern Taste is our favourite place to eat in Bristol! We go almost every week and have become regulars! The restaurant offers a huge menu of delicious food whilst also being BYOB! We have been working our way through the menu! The mango lassi for after your curry tastes absolutely incredible & is home made! They run the restaurant like clockwork! No stress, just peaceful & easy going staff! So so friendly! The chef always pops his head out and gives us a friendly wave when we leave! The music is also authentic Indian music which we have even used shazam to find some of the tracks! Great atmosphere, great food at reasonable prices & lovely people! My partner and I will be there again next weekend and most likely the following weekends after that too! Would highly recommend! 10/10

I visited on a Thursday evening to get a take-away and, although the place was pretty busy & most of the tables were occupied (always a good sign!), the staff were very welcoming and took my order straight away. They said it would take about 15 minutes but it was a bit quicker than that. I ordered a vegetarian curry, side dish, portion of pilau rice & 2 popadoms which came to what I thought was a very resonable price (under £15.) The food was all delicious - perfectly cooked with just the right spiciness for my taste and the portions were very generous - so much so that I was able to have it as my main evening meal for two nights - and I am a pretty big eater! Next time I'm in Bristol i will definitely make a point of revisiting Eastern Taste.

I've visited Eastern taste a number of times and have never been let down. I dropped in a couple of weeks ago for yet another fantastic meal, BYOB drinks and friendly service. Finally i am also always surprised by how reasonably priced the bill is, even with all the extras there is never a nasty surprise.

Found this lovely restaurant on a google search when visiting Bristol, so I thought I’d try it out… I am amazed by the meal I had tonight, particularly the chicken tikka jalfrezi! I highly recommend coming here for a meal, you will thoroughly enjoy the food and service, the waiters were extremely welcoming and food was 10/10!

Good value for money and lovely staff! However their vindaloo is extremely mild though, and ordered from them several times with the request to make it very spicy and each time it was still very mild. Friends tried and agreed. So I've gone elsewhere for my curries now!

Excellent chickpea and spinach curry, pilau rice and dhal. The accompanying salad was beautifully fresh.

10 years ago This used to be my favourite curry house in the UK, now the food is flavourless and bland, with added sugar and oil to try and make up for it. It used to be so good now it's like a mediocre takeaway.

We booked in for a party of 10 people on Saturday night and were delighted with the quality of food and the friendly service throughout. The staff were particularly accommodating to a few late changes to the booking. Would recommend giving the specials a go!

Called up to order having read the sterling reviews...(They are not on Just eat) Chap on the phone said they won't deliver to us.... (We're at the bottom of Staple Hill.. They are 2 miles down the road in Easton) It's an 8 minute drive. Perhaps I should be coming to you?...Or perhaps you might consider pulling the copy on your site that confirms you deliver...You clearly do not. What is it with the curry houses in Bristol? It's Staple Hill not Bardsey Island....

Pedimos dos birianis de pollo para llevar. Me sorprendió gratamente cuántas personas comen dentro. Lamentablemente, la comida no era buena, el pollo sabía como si estuviera reconstituido y al arroz le faltaba algo. Yo como Curry mucho y esto no está ni cerca de lo mejor. Sin sabor soso Creo que iré a otro lado.

Realmente decepcionado en mi primera experiencia de este restaurante la semana pasada. Pedimos dos platos diferentes y decir que eran sosa sería insuficiente. Nuestro juez de salida y Nan no estaban mucho mejor. La única parte decente de nuestra comida fue el arroz ya que en realidad tenía sabor. No volverá a pedir de este restaurante.

Very enjoyable unpretentious South East Asian dishes with the added bonus of being BYO and with no corkage. Staff were friendly enough although perhaps not to the standard of other eating establishments - adequate but thats all. Would certainly visit again if in the area.

La comida tardó muchísimo en salir (más de una hora) y no nos dieron ninguna explicación ni disculpa. La comida era bastante grasosa y degustación de antiguo y bastante cara para lo que era. También nos dijeron en la mesa que cada uno tenía que pagar un mínimo de 10 libras cada uno, ya que estábamos en un grupo, algo que no habían dicho antes. He estado aquí un par de veces y ha decepcionado con el servicio y la comida dos veces ahora. Yo no volveré.

Llegamos a un restaurante muy completo con gente entrando y saliendo con sus pedidos de comida para llevar. Poco sabíamos que habíamos aún estará esperando la comida a una hora más tarde. . . El personal no era demasiado amable, y cuando por fin llegó la comida era agradable pero frío bastante rápido. Una experiencia muy regular.

Servicio chocante, tardaron más de una hora a que llegara nuestra comida. Ellos dijeron que la cocina era la falta de personal y de los clientes, pero servían para llevar preferentemente rápidamente. También el plato que pedimos no fue lo que recibí, el personal se fue de mí como me quejé.

Comimos aquí en una reciente Jueves y me complace reportar que había un buen 5 ó 6 mesas ocupadas en este pequeño restaurante. El ambiente es precioso, realmente acogedor con el ajetreo y el bullicio de la calle marcas de fuera. La comida era de una calidad muy alta y te permite traer tu pripia bedida alcohólica. vivimos localmente y estoy contento de que esto puede ser un habitual en nuestro repertorio.

I have i eating at this restaurant regularly for several years. It is an unpretentious place in the heart of Bristol's east side. It offers Bangladeshi food from a good but not too extensive menu. There are good vegetarian options. The Eastern Taste is very popular with local people, particularly towards the end of the week and at the weekends. It Is been run by the same people ever since I have been in Bristol and I always get a warm welcome and friendly service.

Living just over the road in St Werburgh's, I've been to Eastern Taste a few times over the years, and the last time I went, just a week ago, was a reminder of why it's so good. It's a popular restaurant on Easton's bustling St Marks Road, so when we arrived on a Friday night (bottle of wine in hand - it's a BYO) we weren't surprised to find it nice and busy. Nevertheless, we were served promptly and I ordered the garlic chicken and a side of saag aloo, both of which were delicious and just the right portion size We both really enjoyed our meals and, despite the restaurant being busy, didn't feel at all rushed. We count ourselves lucky to have such a great restaurant on the (almost) doorstep!

We found this little place with my friends just before Christmas.We wanted to go somewhere to eat something nice.We ended up in this little restaurant and couldn`t have got a better experience.The food was amazing and the atmosphere (even tho it is a very small place) was just perfect.We had a delicious meal with a lovely service by the gentleman who was very kindly helped us explaining what is what.I only can recommend to everybody

Brought my mum here on Monday for a later Mother's Day meal.We had looked on trip advisor for best curry houses in Bristol as we wanted to try somewhere different to our usual. I can honestly say that this is our new favourite.We had a vindaloo and Dansak, lovely flavours, the vindaloo could of been hotter as wasn't as hot as a real vindaloo but we didn't ask as we were enjoying so much.Naan bread was cooked to perfection and Bombay potatoes lovely flavours.Service was good although the waiter could of smiled more.Will be back soon.

After moving to bristol from the midlands we struggled to find an indian that we really enjoyed until we found the eastern taste..the food is incredible along with the price.. eaten here around 30 times and not one meal has been anything short of fantastic. 10 out of 10 every time.

First visit of the year and another cracking, great value, meal.I've been steadily working my way through the menu and this time tried a rogan gosht. It was superb, made with fresh tomatoes and delicious, succulent, chunks of lamb. Prima ci hanno portato delle focaccette croccanti con varie salse, dolci salate e piccanti molto saporite. Il personale è davvero gentile ed accogliente, si spende il giusto. Vi consiglio di prenotare, io ci sono stato senza prenotazione ma sono andato presto e non ho avuto problemi. Cosa importante: non servono alcolici ma se ve li portate da casa non fanno alcun problema, noi abbiamo comprato una bottiglia di vino merlot australiano all'alimentari accanto, un bel risparmio. After, like many, reading good reviews on here we were expecting good things, but sadly we were disappointed. The only thing that this restaurant has in its favour, over thin oily curries, is it's cheap and BYO.Thats about all for saving graces we're afraid. As curry lovers and much travelled in Bristol, the best without a doubt still remains the Raj Pavilions in Horfield, but that bill (with wine) would have been fifty percent more expensive. Sorry Eastern, but not for us.

absolutely tasteless don't bother and I'm bengali (I know what curries are about as we created the formula in the UK) the food tastes like someone died and and gave up on the passion of expressing food.. only one good advice is that it is better than most pakistani restaurants as pakistanis make the best grills but have no idea what a curry is as they eat a completely different style and not the style invented by the curry houses all over the UK (which is mostly bengali restaurants)

If you like curry then this is the place to go, authentic food and surrounding's. This is by far the best curry we have ever eaten, hence our return rate!Food is always piping hot, freshly made, service is prompt with a no rush policy. Best to book as they are always very busy. It's BYO which is a bonus, and there is an off-license down the road.

After reading the reviews here and looking forward to a curry whilst in the City, we decided to try the Eastern Spice.We arrived around 7pm to an empty restaurant, and asked if we'd booked (which we hadnt). As there was a large group arriving and being booked up we had to wait a while, while the waitr/manager rang the group re numbers. We were lucky (or were we in the end?) and we managed to get a table for two.Things started off okay; we heard it was a BYO place, and that was okay as theres an off license down the road. Cider-i-up I ordered Onion Bhajis for starter, my friend Samosa.They came quick sharp, perhaps a bit too sharp however as mine were barely warm.for main I ordered Chicken Tikka Bhuna - quite bland, wrong colour and consistancy. chicken pieces not marinated, Bhuna not a thick dry sauce youd associate with a Bhuna and lots of Ghee in it.total bill came to 24 quid or so, and thought that was pushing it. just glad we didnt have to pay for drinks on top of that.

Got a takeaway. The sauce of the curry was nearly all oil with little or no flavour. It appears that they ran out of ingredients and served us leftovers. This is surprising considering all the very good reviews here. Upon collection, the staff gave off a strange vibe as if they knew they were screwing us out of £25. (We actually felt uncomfortable whilst waiting for our food)This was really the worse curry i have EVER had.

We have been here a few times and always had a nice time. You can bring your own booze which is always handy if you're on a budget!The staff are friendly and polite - even when we had been sitting at the table chatting for an hour after our food, we didn't feel at all pressured to leave.The food has mostly been very tasty, the only criticism is on the mild dishes, which I found a little bit bland.It's very cosy, warm and friendly. Well priced and perfect for a get together.

We popped in on the off chance and were able to get a table easily.... excellent crip poppodoms and lovely chutney/lime pickle and rajita. Fish Bhuna was delicious as was the vegi rice that I chose to accompany it... Nans were a bit too doughey for my taste but my husband enjoyed his. All in all a good experience and I am sure we will visit again.

We always get our takeaway curries from this place. We call up 15 minutes before we are ready to head down to collect and by the time we get there they are ready to be taken away. The food is really good and fairly priced. We have never sat in but the restaurant looks nice. Out of all the curries I have tasted in Bristol(which is a lot) this is the best.

My husband and I have been eating here very regularly (nearly every week) for many years now and can't praise the staff or rate the food highly enough. It's difficult to find a restaurant that consistently serves excellent food and that's the reason why we are so loyal and will continue to be so!

Last Saturday, my wife, the three boys and myself booked a table in this restaurant. Last time we had a meal here was a year ago, but I am not sure I remember how it was. I do remember however our last experience, jut 4 days ago. Well, its 5 star from the beginning to the end, no doubt one of the best Indian meals I ever had in my entire life, just perfect, everything was really great, the food, the service and finally the price which was very reasonable. I am sure we will remember this meal for a long time. All the dishes we ordered (chicken tikka balti, chicken tikka cylon, chicken tikka beryani and the fish bunah were so delicious, tasty and full of eastern flavour!Highly recommended...

Visit this place all the time now and it never fails. Freshly cooked tasty food every time, it really is the best Indian in the country. Forget the Thali Cafe its not a patch on the Eastern Taste and its a fraction of the price. Its BYO which is brilliant...These guys know how to deliver the perfect curry every time. It is definitely a five star curry house, excellent!!!!

Eastern Taste never fails to deliver a lovely tasty and value-for-money evening out. They don't cook with dairy ghee so the majority of their dishes are vegan-friendly. The curries are spiced nicely, so too overblown on the chilli, a good flavour to the veg biryani we ordered with a range of veg in the rice and the curry. The tarka dall and the cauliflower bhaji was similarly tasty. Our chapatis were fresh tasting unlike other places I've dined where they appear to have been reheated from frozen. The meal including poppadums came in at less than £10 a head and it's a BYO restaurant - what's not to like here and I strongly recommend it for vegan diners - much better than the over rated Thali down the road. The serving staff were attentive but didn't make us feel like we needed to rush our meal nor order more than we wanted. All in all highly recommended.

Best Indian food - anywhere - lovely people, super service and always a delight to eat here. My son lives in Bristol so a great excuse to come down and see him. Great value too, so do yourself a favour and check it out.
